Is This Any Good? Sucky webdesigner asking for feedback
Styx replied to HmmZ's topic in Websites and Web Designing
it's quite a long script to have for your homepage -
yes, a power supply that's too weak can make your OS "sticky".another thing on the topic of svchost:if you kill 2 many, or the wrong one, NT security authority automatically shuts down your computer within a minute. it also shuts down your computer when you're being hacked bad. if you're sure you're the one who caused it, to avoid have to reboot your system, do this: Start>Run then type the following: shutdown -aand it will kill the shutdown process.it's been a relief to not have to lose everything i was working on to that.

Do You Really Know How To Use Google? Even if you think so, read this....
Styx replied to Lyon's topic in Search Engines
I wouldn't call this warez. posting links to sites containing it would, IMO, be considered illegal. but o'reily has basically all these hacks in his book.telling someone to search for something doesn't constitute illegality. -
Do You Still Yahoo? happy 10th birthday, yahoo :D

my gmail box doesn't make me keep a copy in the inbox when i move it. of course i use outlook to download everything, and it automatically moves it to the filed-away section. -
nasty little viruses & computers! let the pros take care of it, if u've got the warranty. that way, if anything goes wrong, they're the ones who have to replace it.

isn't it now that everyone with a gmail account has 50. i have, and no matter how many i give out (so far) it remains at 50.

it's not down. just accessed it. it's simple, but clear. the pop-ups are extremely annoying. it would be nice if the page displayed all in the window without having to scroll down.

or shall we say live and let (or make) others die?

yeah that was sort of a misnomer to call it overclocking...but i couldn't think of the proper term. as far as actual overclocking, that's sort of a no-no with laptops, isn't it?mine seems to really overheat when i'm gaming or video editing.Newayz, thanks for the advice....it's the first time i;ve actually gotten sensible-sounding advice on this in a forum.

dunno if you're on a network, but my computer would use 100% CPU for a few minutes when it started up. the problem was svchost.at that time i never got around to actually fixing the problem, but i would right away open ttask manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and kill the process. it would start right up again, but not hogging any resource that time.

I've got a Presario 2568 with a Radeon 9200 shared graphics card.now in the BIOS it says i can set the card to 128MB, but the manual and tech support say that that is not an option. as far as tehy're concerned , it isn't a bios option. but since it is, i would like to know whether or not it would do any good to set it at 128 instead of the default 64. would that count as overclocking, and overheat the chip? or would it simply be a waste of 64 mb memory?

the link doesn't work! any chance of posting it again, or where else can it be found? -
i don't beleive someone would vote for hotmail!!!at least yahoo or gmail would have been a more viable alternative.hotmail is full of spam, and half the time it doesn't work.Gmail all the way!!!!!!!!!

you could try pixiedust, or eyecandy. otherwise just create it yourself from scratch in photoshop. search for photoshop plugins in google. thousands are available, and basically you just install them into your Photoshop/Plugins dir.

hahaha! i only beat the advanced one 2wice, after many tries and many failed guesses. play something more up to date. unless your computer can't hold anything more.

dreamweaver rocks! frontpage doesn't even come close. and in DW you have the choice of code, split, or WYSIWYG. i use both, about 50% each. small fixits are a bit of a pain to repair in DW as it loads the ful program, but for everything else, it's IMO the best coder around. again, it's one of those that you pay through the nose for. and i'm sure there are many other alternatives.

the ones i use the most are the flaming pear series, eyecandy 5000, kai's power goo, and the default ones photoshop comes with. oh yes, aurora, genesis, and knoll lighting effects complete my "most used" plugin collection.

it's a waste of money if u ask me. if you're going to buy a mac, buy a good one.i think people are going to stick with PCs if that's what they have. PCs, while not the greatest OS, are much more user-friendly to dummies. someone i know was going to et an Imac until calculating that it would be more expensive than a much higher PC. And I've tried out a G4 powerbook, i didn't like it at all. PC laptops are MUCH better.

if it's because of problems with Windows XP, check out http://www.blackviper.com/ he has a great list of what to disable and get rid of in XP.i must have boosted my computer speed by 25% just doing the safe mode tweaks.

i can beat that notebook drive. mine has 80 gigs, 40 in C, 20 in D, 20 in E.plus an external firewire with 120 GB. never thought i'd fill it up, but what with movies and video editing, i'm nearing full capacity.

Use PDF Password Remover. search for it in google as i can't remember the site location now. also the pro version of acrobat 7 can remove protection.
