Please Update Us With Downtime Database downtime
Dragonfly replied to Dragonfly's topic in Web Hosting Support
I prefer not to display my homepage here. So, I'll just give only link here. I'll be happy to know more on those downtime. In the past downtime was very frequent at around 12:30Pm GMT. This happens most of the time, though it doesn't last long - ranging from 30minutes to 3 hours. Sometimes, the html pages will open since only the database seemed to go down . Thank you for your help. -
Hi Admin(s),Kindly update us with the downtime. I've been experiencing downtime quite regularly while my site in Xisto hardly goes down at those given time when the site hosted in Xisto - Web Hosting experience the same. The site isn't opening. Most of the time the problem seems to be database, while the uptime for html files are much better than the database driven site. With regards,

Bigfoot Evidence In Keral(india) Truth or Hoax
Dragonfly replied to amitojduggal's topic in General Discussion
Yes, there was news regarding this big foot man. I saw the picture in Times of India epaper some days ago. The titled goes something like this, 'King Kong in Kerala, India'. This is one of the most interesting pieces that has been in the news recently. If you can provide us the source of your news and link to the article itself it will be good. The article also appeared in many online sites. One of them is Zeenews. The link is here : Click here. The Times of India source is also up here : Click here From now on please always indicate the source of your news, including the link to the article concerned. Search google, its always easy to get something like this. -
These days the amount of information we get is huge we need to examine each and every information before we can spill out in open otherwise we often make mistake. I was wondering and was carefully checking your email screenshot and like Opaque said you didn't notice the source of the email. A small mistake can cost us dearly when it comes to information. What if you have sent a complaint mail to Gmail support team, they will think a bit funny that you didn't read the mail carefully....It could be quite embarassing.

Honestly, I do not read each and every posts of others in this forum. But when the first topic is something catchy or the topic which interests me I usually read the first post itself and after reading the first post if I could make a decent post or reply I read the following posts and try to follow the replies that come along. And finally I reply the topic. I think this is the best way to participate in the topic concerned. When we try to reply the main topic without reading the following replies we land up not being able to make sense in our replies. So, it is good to read the replies in order to make a constructive reply. I've been following this method in all my posts. But if the topic itself isn't interested me I do not even read the first post nor never reply them.

I google I search most of the things that are in English. Meaning the keywords will be English only. I am likely to search for places, websites of a particular place or people or community. And websites on people who make news on our sitcoms and newspapers. I just search everything that comes into my mind. Sometimes, I do search for cheap webhosting near the city where I live.

Google Adsense Exchange Engine easy way to much earnings
Dragonfly replied to DeveloperX's topic in Search Engines
This is a very dangerous idea. Google guys are smart enough to trace this kind of clicking being carried out. Because google ads are to be click-through and the visitors are expected to visit the new targetted pages. According to this idea they will only click once and will never click again inside the landing pages which is a very dangerous idea. Google adsense team will find out those accounts and disable them. For me I do not like this idea and do not recommend anyone to join such ideas less you are ready to be disabled your account. Once disabled it is not easy to get activated again. That's my frank opinion and take on this idea. Thanks for sharing though. -
We can suggest you if you tell us from where are you going to get those two games. If you happen to use content management systems like mambo, php-nuke and others for those games, sites that offer free templates are very different. But if you are going to make your own game, most free templates come with footer copyright to be left intact. I suggest you to search Google with 'free templates' you will get many.If you know a little bit of Dreamweaver you can do on your own too. It is the best. This is my recommendation.

Css Based Photo Gallery Code Fluid design for layout
Dragonfly replied to jlhaslip's topic in General Discussion
That is cool because it will fit to all kinds of screen resolution and monitor resolution visitors are using. The pictures will just slip down when more pictures cannot be viewed in the same row, otherwise if one uses table it will give horizontal bar which I really dont' like. The only problem with the CSS based photogallery of yours is the size of the pictures, one may want to alter the size of the pictures according to the sources.. -
Hi sonorama,I tried in my Xisto.com account, within minutes of pointing the nameserver to Xisto I could easily addon domain in the account. The problem with Xisto - Web Hosting is that it took so much time or I wonder if there is some other problem with my paid account set up. I gave up the addon domain idea. I just point the new domain to Xisto.com and it is working but I cannot use much space anymore. So, the problem isn't solve yet.

I was trying to addon one domain to my current account since I have enough space but I get the following error. Half an ahour ago I have already pointed the newdomain nameserver to ns1 and ns2.computinghost.com, will it take more than this much time for a server to recognize the nameserver or what does it mean when it says 'owned by another user'? Thanks.

My little or lack of knowledge might not have allowed me to see any loopholes in the laws of my nation but what I felt is more important than having further improved in our laws is rather implementing or enforcing the laws properly so that corruptions will be curbed properly. Not being able to enforce the law is as bad as not having one, for justice delay is justice denied. Justice must be pronounced speedily anywhere. Sometimes, I envy the way laws are being enforced in communist countries - atleast the way they could enforce the laws but in a democratic set up like ours this has been a problem area. More comments welcome!

Thanks for the link. I didn't know that something like this actually is out there for microsoft messenger. I started to like microsoft just because the search engine is very friendly towards websites run and maintained by me.60% of my site visitors are from msn search and Google is very poor at the moment. I wouldn't mind trying out more of microsoft stuffs like this too.

Hey,what Site Is The Largest Freewebhost Talking? board?
Dragonfly replied to guangdian's topic in Web Hosting Support
Sorry, guangdian, I've not seen any of your post not making much sense in the past. I was reading the first post, the reply and this third post as well; but still I'm not getting what you are trying to ask for.... Please respond to the following questions instead: 1). Do you ask for the largest freewebhost community with largest number of forum members? 2). Or do you ask for the best forum among freewebhost sites? Lifelesspeople forum is one of the biggest but their standard is too high to meet by talented webmasters who are not necessarily a good writers. -
17 Villagers Killed By Us Troops In Pakistan
Dragonfly replied to dr.a.sultan's topic in General Discussion
I heard the news from a Television channel yesterday but I've not heard the news source saying that the villagers were killed. If they have been killed by the bombing I am really sorry for them. And for you dr.a.sultan, I suggest you to quote the source from which you got this news that will give more credibility to your First Information report. Otherwise, it doesn't stand authenticated. There could be many different views on this bombing.... whatever it is the innocent people are always victims. -
I think it is so natural to break up with someone if you have ever been in love. This trend if even more among celebrities and models who are in the limelight anywhere on earth. Even to me I have experienced being in love and fallen apart again. In the beginning it looked like everything went wrong but later on I took it naturally and that is the positive way of looking. Definitely it was not the end of the world. That was part of what we call the normal life. :blink:I think there will be very less people not experiencing this in love-life.

Strip Searches In Schools do u think its right?
Dragonfly replied to B-T's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I think they - police and the school authorities have the right (i hope I'm not too harsh to use the word 'right') to search and even to the point of strip-searched. There's nothing we can say much because they might have clearly mentioned or notified students not to bring drugs or other harmful things with them.In the meantime, the students also have the right to carry what they want to carry with them, but the school law with catch them. Meaning, students are under the law and must know that they shouldn't violate the law of the school. The problem is that such schools may be able to enforce such strict rules in their schools and premises but these kinds of kids continue to do so outside their school and their lives get spoilt still and schools don't make any difference in their live... because its basically the duty of the particular kids to control their lives through a proper guidance at home. I should therefore say that home is where the real school begins. A bad boy at home is the same bad boy at school too, and vice versa. -
Yahoo is one of the most innovative internet companies which survived the onslaught of bad business and poor plannings of many other companies and I don't find strange for them to have come up with a more attractive stuffs like these. To name a few, Yahoo Mail, Yahoo launchcast and games are one of those best things that yahoo has ever given to the world. I welcome these new items from Yahoo!

Let me answer two at a time. leiaah, he is hosting his site in Xisto - Web Hosting dot com, which is a paid hosting service from xisto, which is providing free Xisto hosting. He doesn't need to have credits in his account. His account will be still active as long as he has paid the hosting fee. Hi Gr4ve_Digger, as you can see the 'forum' is one folder inside public_html folder. Change the permission of the forum file from your Cpanel. Go to your Cpanel > File manager > public_html > forum : click this forum and right menu will appear. Click on 'change permission' and make select the all the lines, when you selected/ticked it will display permission to 777. And try to access your forum again. It will work. For safely you may want to change the folder permission to 755 using the same method.

Opera Web Browser Buy opera web browser today
Dragonfly replied to akshay's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thanks for the input. I was curious to know if Opera browser is any better than Mozilla firefox but my system is already crowded with three browsers already - Internet explorer, netscape navigator and firefox and I don't want to install Opera without having full proof that it will be better than those. With your inputs I will not try Opera until the next version. Thanks. -
Firefox 1.5 Flaws For Microsoft User
Dragonfly replied to zaqy's topic in Security issues & Exploits
I have been using mozilla browser - firefox since the days of version 1.0.3 and have found one or two bugs in each version. Right now I'm using the latest version which is version 1.5. Even this too have flaws and problems. I notice the following problems:1). If the browser is not closed and the computer remains On for more than say 2 hours when I tried to open any site on firefox it got hanged and it cannot open any sites. I have to restart, sometimes it says it is already opened when I restart the browser. The only solution to this is to restart the whole system - which doesn't happen in internet explorer.2). Firefox seems to need its own plugins for flash, and other softwares which is a real problem... can they ever share those with IE?Nevertheless, I STILL LOVE FIREFOX with some flaws that are being still worked on by the developers - who are giving everything for free. -
First of all - Congratulations !!! to trap seventeen.I didn't notice the number of members in the forums homepage. After seeing this post I just have a look at it and am amazed at the speed in which trap seventeen and Xisto are growing each day. Now what comes into my mind however is the actual number of members who are active and have enough credits to sustain their account as well as their hosting account.

It is not Xisto server related problem. The problem is in the configuration of your site. The best way to find this solution is to go to the support forum of smf (simplemachine.org official website). They will be able to help you. Also what you've written at the end of your post I can see that the forum in particular is not able to connect to the database. Sometimes, database goes down due to some users, you can check in the announcement board for more details on this. But it doesn't happen all day long, it could last as much as 30minutes as far as my experience is concerned I never knew it went off for more than that much time. It means it will eventually work after 30minutes.By the way what is the nameserver you are using, or host for your site?
