I'm struggling with paying even my hosting and such ideas like paying speaker for as high as 80 dollars do not come up in my mind at the moment. I have mercury speakers which is quite satisfying at the moment. I do agree that if we spend more quality will become better and better. No doubt about it.... I recommend everyone to try Mercury speakers, they are so cheap and yet still perform the best compare to their price tags.

I don't think Google will ever come up with such idea ( such stupid idea I should say if they ever come up).. because Google is rich enough, they are smart to earn money even without making if pay and use service. Think about the money Google is generating from adsense alone... I can confidently says that they will never come up with such idea and if they do so, I don't think Google can continue to lead in search engine anymore... people will not use its services anymore.. only few selected people will use and it will just perish like usa.net email service which was one of the best in the early years of emails' inception. When they are giving us by installing firefox browser together with their toolbar why should they do such a thing?

The Future Of Get Paid To Surf Industry Too good to be true...
Dragonfly replied to adriantc's topic in Business Forum
Hi Adriantc, these kinds of stuffs always attract me but I really wonder if they really work in long term and I also wonder if they really pay or not. And also if we have to put in our website I wonder if search engines consider them like spams - I have no proof but there nothing like a search engine friendly websites. Therefore, as of now I'm quite satisfied with google adsense. -
Why And When Did You Make Your First Site?
Dragonfly replied to seanooi's topic in General Discussion
It was in way back in 2003 that I created my first webpage I was lucky enough not to have created my page in geocities or any other free host. I had my own website I was managing at that time. However, to make things easier and not to bother about those hosts I've started using free scripts and free content management systems which manage my sites. -
I suggest you search in Google search using the keyword 'free feedback form in php or cgi' they will give you the full guidelines - from uploading scripts made by them and also how to create page for that feedback form as well as thanks page. Everything will be there. One of such form is at http://jimsun.linxnet.com/SCForm.html you can visit this page and get all the information you need to know on having it at your own site. This form will handle your own feedback in PHP scripting. You can ban spammers.

Html Editor Text editor or HTML Editor
Dragonfly replied to viplanet's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Right there are many HTML editors these days. Go look at google search and you will find many types of those. Few of them being namo editor, macromedia dreamweaver, microsoft frontpage, etc.I was wondering what is MS FP when I saw first from the posting of the one who started this post. I felt you must be very friendly with microsoft frontpage which you fontly shortened as MS FP.As far as my experience is concerned I would recommend Macromedia Dreamweaver, go for Dreamweaver MX or anything above MX version. If you have known the ABC of HTML go for Dreamweaver, frontpage doesn't output the best code of html as well. -
Your site is definitely informative for those who are looking for information on Miniature Railways in the UK. First of all I should say the content is quite satisfying... you could continue to update from time to time because your last update was way back in November 3rd (third) this year- 2005 (two thousand and five).Second point I would like to point is the very first picture in homepage cannot be viewed in mozilla firefox browser. Today many people are using firefox browser over microsoft internet explorer, especially webmasters. It will be nice of your site to be able to display the picture too.The third point is about the Menu, Menu should be on top, left or right of any webpage, if it is tucked in at the bottom it doesn't become userfriendly. So, I suggest the menu to be on top, left or right of the page. The fourth point is the font size. The font size too looks too big. I'm seeing your webpage in 1024x780 pixels and I still feel that it is too big. Those who view your site on 800x600 pixels will have to scroll up and down even for few sentences which is not very good.I hope you will put up pictures in your photogallery page as well. The above are my small input on your website. You don't necessarily need to follow them...Good luck!

Host Images Free And Make Money At The Same Time filebounty.com
Dragonfly replied to howard100's topic in Business Forum
Will they allow me to post the image I host with them in some third party forum (not my own forum)? If we post such images in forums like celebrities' fan sites it will generate 5000 views easily...But for me I prefer adsense... -

Custom Error Pages Question Cannot customize them
Dragonfly replied to Dragonfly's topic in Web Hosting Support
I think Cpanel is not able to edit my .htaccess for some reason. I will edit .htaccess by my own and let you know the results. I should be fine if the code has no error. Thanks OpaQue/Admin for your help! -
If you visit Xisto - Web Hosting.com you will find the following as notice or announcement : It went down around 5:00am GMT, at that time it was too early for server team to detect because it was few hours past mid-night in the US. When they work up this morning around say 6:00am or so, they came to know the reality. My sites were unaccessible for all those times, but now atleast the IP is responding, saying there is no website configured to this address. Its a custom error report from cpanel. Technical teams are working very hard. Let's wait patiently. They are working on it, it shouldn't be taking too much time.

Custom Error Pages Question Cannot customize them
Dragonfly replied to Dragonfly's topic in Web Hosting Support
Hi jlhaslip! Thanks for your response. But yours is with copyright or link back request and stuff whereas if Admin rectify it from the Cpanel I don't have to keep your copyright nor the link back stuff. After reading your code, I found that it is pretty ordinary and I could understand the ABC of controlling those pages from htaccess file. Thanks for the input. I'm still waiting from the admin and others to sort out the problem in the custom error pages. -
In order to customize my custom error pages, I click on those particular error pages and I edited by inserting html code for error page and saved it. Cpanel responded that the page is saved, however if I type anything which is not found within my pages the custom error pages I've created were not displayed but I got the following error messages: Since i thought that this could be due to html code, I removed html codes and simply put some text and tested them, still the problem persists. Please help. Thanks.

Questionl Html Editors Witch one are the best?
Dragonfly replied to savge17's topic in Web Hosting Support
I also recommend you Dreamweaver by Macromedia. The latest version which is Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 has all the editing tools you need from HTML upwards and to upto asp, php, etc. I've used Microsoft frontpage, namo editor and others but I've found out that none is better than Dreamweaver. If you already know html coding, you can jump to Dreamweaver and make use of it. You will find that it is really easy to create sites in few days if not some hours. If more members recommend you the same I hope that will satisfy you more. -
Sorry to hear your complaint about your own Prime Minister. I thought Mr. John Howard is doing a great job so far. It will be nice to know the reason why he is unhappy to be seen with one of his sons in public? Is his sons marriage not approved by his father? And what kind of marriage took place for his particular son whom he dislikes? You will get more support if you explain more detailly about your complaint against your own Prime Minister, will it not be a good idea to elect one of your rugby players or cricketers for the post of Prime minister?

That 's a good piece of news. We need a more balanced world. The rise of European Union, Sub-continent India, China, South Africa and Brazil should be a welcome move for the betterment of the world. China with its communist root has grown alot in the past two decades in all fields including space technology. The first space mission they've just concluded must have encouraged them alot. What I like about China is its infrastructure. Since they are all newly built ones - it comes with good qualities.

That is not a bad move. I hope you've known the quality of Xisto and of course the paid hosting Xisto - Web Hosting can only get better than the free hosting. If you are inactive in the forums I suggest that you should go ahead with Xisto - Web Hosting. As for me, I have paid account with Xisto - Web Hosting as well as free account with Xisto. Both are excellent. Server speed is super-fast. Xisto and its family network services are the best. Go enjoy!Cheers!

Google Email - Gmail is one of the best free services that one can get on the internet. I think baseballkid782 was simply trying to say that initially Gmail offers 3BG inbox storage. But he failed to say that he is happy or not happy with 2 plus GB he is getting right now. In fact, if he is not happy he can ask Gmail to terminate his email account (just kidding). I think 2 plus GB is quite enough and its a lot all for free. And how Gmail redefine the way we use email. I think they deserve praise too. Once Gmail came into picture, Yahoo and hotmail and others also have to upgrade their inbox storage capacity which is a very good move Gmail started. And also I've not heard Gmail offering 3GB in the past as well. I'm quite satisfied with the present one. If one wants more space he can open more accounts.

Help Moving Mysql Files To A New Host IPB files
Dragonfly replied to Gyad's topic in Web Hosting Support
Firstly, you must know how to back-up your Invision Power Board files and folders from Cpanel or simply download it from FTP. That way files and folders can be backed-up. Cpanel back-up is very easy. Just go to your Cpanel and among many icons that appear at Cpanel home there is BACK-UP as well. Click that and it will guide you how to back up. You can download backed-up file (it will be tar or zip file) to your computer. And upload again the file to a new server using your Cpanel and extract there as usual. And re-arrange the folder path.If you back-up by downloading files and folders using ftp, whatever you've download upload again in your new host. Don't upload all at once, but do folder by folder, this is good because sometimes due to internet connection some files may not be transfer to the server fully. In that case your forum will always have problems. Now Database. There are two ways to back up the database. One way is from IPB control panel, if you are admin you can do it. The second one is using phpMyAdmin which you can find once again in the Control panel homepage. Click phpMyAdmin and you will find the page where left side there will be option to choose which database you want to manage. Select the drop-down menu (one the left menu -left side of the page). It will open the database of the forum. On top of the page you will then be able to see options like query, export, etc. CLick Export, when you did there will be options to select TABLES. SELECT ALL and export it as gzip file (tick this option). It will prompt you to download the file as gzip file. Save it to your drive and finish the download. How to install :In your new host, login to Cpanel and find databases > MySQL database, create new database. Create user with password. And assign the user with ALL privileges option. Now go back to your Cpanel home and click on phpMyAdmin once again. And select the database you've created using drop-down menu as usual. Now on the main body of the phpMyAdmin page you will be able to see run your query. Import the back-up gzip file, browse and upload it. It will install it. That's it.You must edit configuration file in your IPB board, assing the new value for file path and others including the database username and password. Your forum should work normally.I hope this helps. If not, please respond, more members can help you out. -
I'm impressed with your site. The width of the pixel indicates that irrespective of the site visitors' screen resolution they will be able to view your site fully which is the first good point. Secondly, menu are good. Menu like googleism and 50 facts seem interesting for visitors as well.I would like to see the top bar working soon. It also seems that you are quite good at photoshop or say graphics in general. And I like the gradient background as well. The only improvement I would like to see in your site is cellpadding for the main body. The articles nearly touch the left line or wall whereas there is almost 30pixels blank or empty space in the right side of the page (right side to the right column menu).BTW if you like Asian Oriented guy or preferably a Chinese there are many of us..lolzzz... Yours is a very good start. Keep updating your site, I will visit again.

How Do I Make A (video) File Smaller?
Dragonfly replied to CroSpartacus's topic in Web Hosting Support
HM, there is really no solution to 750MB size file to reduce it so that it can be shared to others. Compression softwares like winzip, winrar and others may reduce it to some extend but no less than 500MB will be possible. Not even 500MB. Think about 100 people downloading 500MB big file from your host. 500MBx10 will be 5000MB : this much bandwidth will be used up. I think this is not a very wise way to share your file to them. Instead what you could do is write it in 10CDs (Eurovision CDs can hold upto 800MB file size). And send them by post. This may be less expensive.Virtually it is impossible to do what you are trying to do right now.I'm sorry I do not know where you could download a software which will copy some clips only. Please wait for more members to respond you. Thanks. -
Firstly I am impressed by seeing your forum running on Vbulletin board. The feel of the forum is good and userfriendly. I like those features. However, what doens't attract me to sign up in the site is that even TOS cannot be read unless we sign up first. This is the first time I'm seeing such TOS which needs to be read only by members. Please make it visible so that when we agree with the TOS we can register.Secondly, there is no FAQ as well. When we click it returns nothing. I don't mind to become the 7th forum member and paid2post member in the forum but firstly there must be rules binding the site owner that he cannot cheat or do something illegal against the valuable users as well. If those things are clear and undertandable I may consider. Who doens't want to get paid, anyway? Thanks for the link.

My Site Is Down I cant get into my ftp
Dragonfly replied to Glockmeister's topic in Web Hosting Support
When you face such problems in your site. It will be nice if you can mention or state the following points in your post.1). How many credits are there in your hosting account. Credits is important for your site to be active and alive.2). Give your username so that admin can see if he has time*. I said time because admin shouldn't be taking time asking you what is your username for your site. 3). Your site URL. If the URL is top level domain any changes in nameserver can also effect while your account with Xisto is running and up you cannot reach your site. 4). Patience: Please be patient if admins and mods are not responding. Please allow them to take their own time. I hope this helps. -
Hi franklinweb, Welcome to the community. I'm almost one year old here. And am active according to my need (credits) for my site to stay alive. Well, as you can see the rules and regulations and also the terms of service, you will find that if you want your account to be alive - you must stay active in the forum. But staying active in the forum doesn't mean a member visits the forum everyday and make almost no post (let's say he makes post which makes little sense or just one two lines).. Stay active means that you Credit must actually be there for your account to be alive. Meaning if you make a good, meaningful and constructive posts, you will get those credits which allows your account to be alive. This is how it goes here. So, don't worry those who signed up and gained 10 - 30 credits and left the forum. Their account is being suspended when they are running out of the credits. The account, I mean is their web hosting account. Meaning their site is no more up on the internet. However, there are members who comes to make post from time to time to let their credits up for their accounts to be alive and they are still considered ACTIVE according to the rules. I hope this helps.
