He started a war because there were fears of weapons of mass destruction. He started this war to protect the citizens of his country and others. People don't spend money on war for no reason and he was wrong about the mass descruction weaponary but he overthrew an evil dictator. Did you not see those peoples faces when the statue of their tyrant's statue was knocked down? People in India are in a much worse situation than in America. There is a lot of pressure on the government to give aid to starving, dieing third world countries. Is it wrong to help someone else? And I suppose I could do the same thing for every one of your arguments. Some members have been complaining against this topic. For one thing you posted it in the General Talk forum when it should have at least been in The Vent. Although this topic is largely your opinion, I feel that is inappropiate for these boards so I am locking it. //Locked

Questions About Hosting guests, post your questions here
electriic ink replied to electriic ink's topic in General Discussion
You have to backup your own files. You may write a scheduled backup script on your own. cPanel will also have the option of backing up your database. But you must do that on your own. For the list of services, please check out the demo cPanel link in the Alerts and Notices section.Just to add to this, if you want to back-up your files quickly and easily, just follow these steps: Login to ftp using Internet Explorer Go to the folder you want backed-up (such as the /public_html/ directory) Select all other the folders and files within that directory and copy them to the clipboard Paste them on your hard drive. The files have been backed up! -
Constant Re-loading re-load re-load again till hit X, why?
electriic ink replied to farrah's topic in Web Hosting Support
I think that this quick reload is just the shoutbox refreshing. Of course, when you are logged you are forbidden to see the shoutbox, so it doesn't reload. If it is (which looks like the most likely explanation at the moment) then there's nothing to worry about -
Cpanel Demo Page for new applicants and guests
electriic ink replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in Alerts, News & Announcements
Xisto is at cpanel10 Log-into to cpanel go down to General Server Information and by Cpanel Version it says "10.2.0-STABLE-83". I know it's confusing because on the frontpage it says "9.4.1-RELEASE-64". It should be changed.... -

A spanish forum? It probably will not happen, because we don't have enough spanish speaking mods and then if it happens other people whos first language will want their own forum for their language. There are lots of other members who don't speak english that well who've obtained and upkept their hosting account.Good suggestion but the answer is most definetly no.

True but it is not happening so there is no need to restrict it. If anyone does have a large text or graphical signature, they will be asked to remove it and if they don't someone will remove it for them The main trouble with adding restrictions in general is that there will always be someone who has no intent of abusing a rule who could use the restricted content unabusively. For example, if there is a 1500 character signature restriction and I want to post several 4 lined paragraphs of text and a image with a long url and it takes up 1600 characters, I couldn't do that even though it's okay in the forum rules. I could also still post a 800x600 pornographical image or a 300x1000 image that contains just text in my signature that would be within this 1500 character limit and against the rules, so really there is no point in adding it. Nice suggestion though

Looks like an error in the tut. Wherever you placed ("news/show_news.php"); perform the following actions: Check that ("news/show_news.php"); is inside the <?php and ?> tags. If it isn't, make it so they are. Change ("news/show_news.php"); to include("news/show_news.php"); Then save the file and reload the page(s).

Question: Windows Media Player Sound keeps going
electriic ink replied to DYABLO's topic in Software
That happens to me sometimes, but the sound stops after 10s. I don't think there is anyway to fix this. Try another player such as winamp, it doesn't do that and uses up less of the system resources... -
A CuteNews site, so it's cute news' code, so I can't really comment on that. The top banner's got a big white space in it. Is that reserved for advertisers? Seeing as you're not using it, it should be filled in with that green background colour.Your forums look good, perhaps download or write some skins which are similar to the current, main design.

Static_Fury, the domain you are looking for cannot be found because it doesn't exist. You didn't register the domain thesyndicat.trap17.com, you registered thesyndicate.trap17.com instead. See your request. Your real domain name is working fine and I can connect to cPanel.

Quick And Easy Font Instaler from the right click menu
electriic ink replied to moldboy's topic in General Discussion
Nice tutorial (I don't see why it shouldn't be approved). You could also use it to install other things such as Firefox Search Plugins so it's useful in other ways Edit: Fixed grammar -
I can't find the topic, nor can I answer the question, only OpaQue can so I'll draw his attention to the thread...

Help With Changing A File my index.php to cmps_indes.php
electriic ink replied to dymondgurl's topic in Web Hosting Support
Perhaps a quicker way of doing this is to create a file called .htaccess in your forums directory (or edit it if it already exists) and add the bottom this line of code: DirectoryIndex cmps_index.php This doesn't trigger a redirection but instead it changes the index file so that you when you type in http://yourdomain.com/dir/ to the location bar you don't get redirected to but still see cmps_index.php instead of index.php -
You had 1000 unique visitors but we had 5000 page views. If (on average) each visitor opens more than 5 pages then you have more than 5000 views and thus use up more b/w.

I logged out and I noticed that guests couldn't actually post new topics in this forum. In the pinned topic is stated that guests should post their suggestions here but there is nowhere for them to do it, so now there is. Guests, suggest here and please ask questions over here Edit: Both suggestions and questions topic pinned.

I seem to remember someone asking about this before and I remember than the answer was something like "yes, as long as you realize that whatever they host is your responsibility". I can't find the thread, but I'll try and find it...
