Humans created synthetic life and that way there is chance of life on other planet as well. Keeping deluded religious books and their circular logic offensive statements, we can easily see through things that there is big chance of life outside this solar system. Why i'm discarding that ? Because unless you manipulate religious texts, all point to thing that life only exist on this planet. While some people may manipulate texts and can say wildly about god created time(lol, cause time could be different in space and on earth). Let's keep deluded religious thinking aside.This doesn't mean i go with line of thinking that says UFO abductions, visits etc. I see very slim chances of UFO visiting this planet. I'm more of opinion that other species in universe are made up of entirely different chemical composition. Not only that their capacity of manipulating information and implementing will differ as well. Who knows they could be less intelligent than us or they could be more smarter than us. Few more things about other universe : how many life forms are living without oxygen ? how many life forms can't survive in oxygen etc. This is counter thinking cause we're type of people who think that life should be like us which is where our thinking is stagnated. We always think that aliens are supposed to be carbon based life forms which is wrong way of approaching it. That's why i think always avoid religious input to such topics. Like this we can come up with various assumptions about life in the universe. We've managed to find a lot of evidence of "abiogenesis" and like that this will differ a lot for other planets. One more point is how close we are with those planets or solar system. I think we didn't managed to get a system working for faster space travel. Because of this reason i think there is no way to find out how close we are to other planets or species. So best this thing our generation to think about terraform and fast traveling mechanism in space.

Also about xisto referrals questions, opaque can you give us commission percentage for VPS/Reseller and dedicated packages ? i mean is it 15% to all packages or just for logic plans ? Just curious about these cause i'm doing little bit of affiliate marketing these days and i got referral commission for namecheap.com so i thought it's worth to refer xisto as well.

There are ways to verify existence of things which we can't see with naked eye. Amoeba, quarks, air and many other things can be verified as they exist with instruments and experiments. If entity like god if exist then it has to be either possible for us to verify it's existence. Other than word salad and personal experience which are random and self contradictory there is no way to verify existence of god. So even if the smallest possible way to verify the existence of god exist then i'm all for it.

I used bytehost and X10 hosting once. This was just for checking the script installation. I managed to get script rolling but the issue was with the uptime. Byethost and x10 host suffer a lot from bandwidth and shared host space. I don't know if they can't keep up the bandwidth then why they offer it at first place ?. Besides that the support that they offer is very poor. You'll notice it if you ask them about your domain or hosting issue. I don't know if free hosting means getting support on our own or anything different. I think there is no point in wasting your time with such hosts. If you can't afford posting here at asta or Xisto then you can always check other hosts where you can get hosting for monthly minimum quota. This is what i'm going to plan for sure for some of the test site that im going to get in future. Well there are some other notable hosts like ks,asta but they differ in posting features and space/bandwidth etc. But the way these two hosting sites are made it's simply awesome. I can't think of managing such huge project with single employee that easily. Hats off to opaque for building such large empire like this.

You're right about one ticket per problem but as my two problems were related so i had to create a ticket which explains it in that way. Now i see the response from the support that it's solved and it'll take few hours to see the blog page back so i have to wait or have to check proxy.Yes, i would like to see opaque's reply on how we are supposed to post ticket to support. I mean we know that we're not supposed to get response like VPS/Dedicated but still we can't live on our own for most critical issues with hosting and for that we need to know how we are supposed to get support. Seriously either support people need to learn how to read ticket or maybe we need a modular approach on how to post ticket to support if we're wrong. Sorry, i can't defend Xisto - Support in front of newbies for this type of approach. I did my best to explain problems that i have but delay and understanding on support's part really turned me off.

I hate to open thread here for this but there is something seriously wrong here in system at xisto for auto-renewal and understanding of problems from support side. I've my all domains and hosting on auto-renewal mode. But recently one of my domain was auto-renewed but on the other hand i was getting warning emails about domain expiration. Then after june 28 i got my domain suspended and now it is getting parked page for it. Can you check these invoices opaque ? #20868 #20849 and here is the support ticket ID: Ticket ID: CLO-268854 Now as per my conversation with Karan, he's supposed to be fixing my parked page and domain renewal issue(of which domain renewal is fixed). But he replied something different and there is no reply from him after sunday. I don't know why my domain is on parked page. Is there any chance that auto-renewal systme is broken ? And i have to say that support-person is totally blowing it off. If i'm mentioning my issue with one of the domain then why i'm getting answers for another domain ? I don't know why support solves 1 problem at a time. I mean they solved domain renewal issue but are stuck at parked page issue now. Do i need to create new reply in same ticket to solve problem ? I mean one problem per reply or am i supposed to post all the issues in single replies at the creation of support ticket? One thing i learned from Xisto and opaque is "patience". My site today is broken because of mycents were not renewed and that put my website page into parking one because of system's inability to update my hosting and domain automatically(though i've lots of mycent to cover it).And even after logging support ticket my problem is not solved. Like this many other problems in past took a lot of time. But i sticked with this community. Reason is though we may have differences within community and complaints for opaque lol.. at the end we want our hosting and this community to survive for longer time. Soon my sites will move to VPS (at the end of 2011..lol)but i'll continue to be here cause this site is now part of my life. I know things are falling apart here and i don't deny any chances of clashes between me and community but anyhow but i'll stick here. Not for present-mycent needs or future but for the past with this community. I spent here so many hours when i had no life and i was down deep inside(though i dont have life at all right now lol). I just can't see myself moving away from this community just because of my mistakes or some differences within community. I don't want to be exclusive or to have celeb treatment here. Nah, this will not happen no matter how people brag about it. In india people don't care for security this much. They even don't have problem with google maps which was used by terrorists for blast. Just few lakh dollars to political leaders and there will be no protest.

It's nice game. Though i'm quite defensive with tower defense games. I found it bit hard in some of the levels and for few zombies you can't put yourself in defensive mode. that will only make you lose that level. It's nice game btw. yet to grow tree of wisdom and not sure what to do with those plants and there separate gardens. I didn't even purchased gramophone, let's see will play over and over again to get those points.

Why not ? Think about it. More forums means more topics and that gives more content for search engine to crawl and send visitors. Just because few people are overloaded with information we can't sacrifice on SEO and money on the table. Think like you own this forum, are you going to leave the money on the table and struggle for giving hosting on your own pocket instead of adsense/kontera ? I don't know how many people do something like this but if i get blown away by too much complexity of forums and posts then i stick with "active content " link or search options. It saves much of my time while posting.

Speaking of references and reliability. Hows is wikipedia comparable to britanica and some other paid encyclopedia sites or software ? I heard that recently microsoft dropped encarta project and because of this i think there is one less commercial site. I think without commercial sites it gets harder to find people who update regular content. Wikipedia has enough updated content for generalized topics and sub-topics. But if wikipedia starts to offer paid position like KDE/Gnome then i'm sure there will be lot of credible information gathering because of this. With money or rewards people help more and more to such sources than free.

Some people do pay for the amount of downloaded data if they didn't download in time specified(Those Night surfing free type of plans). I mean some ISP offers free browsing at time 10pm to 8am and they call it night unlimited or free. You'll not be charged if you download in this time. For example, if you download 900MB and your plan offers 700MB free then you'll be charged for those 200 MB extra if you didn't download it in night time or the specific free hour plan. They charge about 2 bucks per MB. Not sure if this is the correct price but as per ISP this price varies. Feel good that you're not on these plans, these plans are waste seriously.

Will you give up business and money that is on your table ? No. So why shoulld they ? Microsoft is the most famous and used platform and after recession it is going strong again in economy. Adding search engine with quality results can boost their earnings. Only way they can beat google is by offering privacy but both yahoo and bing are ignoring this fact. Google spies on user content and improves the search result which is not the case with bing and yahoo. So instead of focusing their energy on shortcomings of competitor they prefer to reinvent the meta search engine performance which is affecting their growth. Google may be best but many countries and companies don't allow google on their connection this is because of google's spying on user content for ad-monetization. Any search company can outmatch google if they find out how to improve performance of search results without having to spy user content. Not exactly, it's business if they lose your type of people they've nothing to lose. Besides there are more than 10k internet marketer who got their adwords account banned in 2009 so they can't no longer advertise on google. So they're going for bing and yahoo. You know what this means ? It means business. And if this works for those marketers then surely more and more people migrate to another search platform. You're on the line of reasoning that if there is any strong business going on then rest of the competitors should quit. Lol, but your posts gives that perception. Do you think facebook owner quit because of orkut's popularity in india and brazil ? there are more than 1k internet marketers using facebook ads instead of adwords and those ads are converting in lead sales for them. You know what this is ? You think google can beat this ?Important point is facebook managed this without being a good search engine and their search functions are not even close to meta searching. Not at all. Yahoo answers is one of the popular place on the internet to get answers. With or without contest people get quality answers. Affiliate marketers can sale there without worrying about moderation etc. They're not at all forced. Google's answer division was shut down and there is no place google can offer that beats answers. In fact if you want to experiment you can open a weird question on Yahoo answers and check in how many minutes it appears on google. It's business, so forget about favoritism. Power of google ? what is that ? Yahoo still has many good services and offers alternative to google. What do you think people do when they get banned from adsense ? They go to yahoo or bing search marketing for publishers. What do you think people do when they get banned from google adwords merchant account ? They go to bing search marketing or yahoo search marketing. When people don't want to use analytics of google and other 3rd party then bing and yahoo offers them alternative. Nobody goes to these places just for contests or something. There is something on the internet for everyone. It may be just you who go after those places for contest. Let's not generalize. It was there at the top with old IPB theme but because of new upgrade and default theme modification many things are lost. And about point of too many forums, i think more the content and titles better for search engines to drive traffic and to generate revenue via kontera and google. So there is no point is reducing number of forums. As for point about newbie guide, i think opaque will fix that in few days (err months perhaps) by adding link to mycents, hosting guide threads.

Yahoo is mix of meta search+directory + user submission data. This is mix and that makes it really hard for better results. Though yahoo is much improved these days in comparison with bing. You'll find that yahoo and bing are experimenting with search patterns by offering contests. These contests ask user to use search engines normally without having to search with patterns. This way they calculate frequent search terms and improve the cache for it. I know it sounds weird but google does it wihtout holding contests. Have you seen any contest from google ? I don't think so there is any. Yahoo algorithm is good when it comes to data pulled from the dmoz directory else there is nothing much in it.

Aliens ? hmm there are chances that other species in another part of universe exist. But UFO visiting earth and all ? i don't think people should waste their time with things like this. I don't watch those conspiracy videos and shows. There are many people out there making moneyby selling such hoaxes. Especially in deserted areas like australia and egypt. I don't know why aliens don't bother to visit asia. Is it too crowded for them ?Other than that there is not single authentic non-cg video out there showing real aliens. There are many hoax and cg videos on aliens. I don't know why aliens bother to visit this planet.

If i'm not wrong BSNL offers DSL connection which makes use of their existing telephone lines. BSNL is not investing money on fiber optics in most of the region. DSL connection are faster but there are some issues with it during contention and shared connection issue. As voice and data is shared on same line besides that on single telephone line at switch there are multiple users fighting for bandwidth so this is one problem with DSL connections. There are many users in Xisto and asta using BSNL claiming that they get good speed at varying time in day/night. This is because of DSL. I'm sure in rainy seasons these repeaters often pose issues. These issues are related to noise and connection failure at switch/repeaters. I hope i cleared few things. The stuff that i mentioned here was applicable when i studied DSL connections and ISP in way back in 2007. I don't know how much DSL is improved these days.

I think this is the issue with line and they're not giving you exact download speed. They're setting you on typical shared line of 512kbps perhaps. Cause most of the 2mbps or higher are on dedicated lines. Not sure what is the situation at your place and how people are managing it over there. But i found that most ISP charge a lot for 2MBPS and higher connection and so the lines are dedicated. Though the line is at the same repeater points but because of it's dedicated nature you're not supposed to get lower speed like this. Not sure what this company done foryou. But if i;m not wrong most of the companies all over the world have latency /8. That mean divide by 8 speed, can't get into more details. Will check if this applies everywhere. Most of the time low speed issues are related to ISP. Unless there is issue with underground fiber line that happened in 2008.

It's not about spending power or spending habits. It's about what the thing company is offering. Many reviews from people is US is not that positive about ipad. Many people are turned off with ipad's missing multi-tasking feature and word processing usage which is not possible with current release of ipad. So that is one reason i think that ipoad should be redesigned and price should be updated. Current ipad just looks like a device that is trying to compete with amazon kindle and get more customers for that. I don't think its worth to compete with such small device. I'm waiting for microsoft's surface release before even thinking of purchasing or touching ipad seriously for use.

Unless they offer multitasking feature in ipad it's not even worth to buy it for 300 bucks. Instead few more bucks and people can get a mult-tasking laptop and that would be wise investment in my opinion. Other than that there is going to be improvement for the ipad series but unless there is some mult-taking capability people will find it limited. It's good for movie watching and browsing but if you want it for blogging and other heavy usage then ipad is not for you. I find it really hard that people think it's worth for buying without thinking that they can't use it as heavy as they use laptop or their desktop.

I'm not sure what and who did this testing and where it is taken. But almost every slick linux distros suggest xfce if people wnat to cut on their resource. It'll be better if anyone can seriously let me know about this resource where they tested this stuff out. Resource wise, gnome takes more and after that KDE and then rest of the other window managers are preferred. I don't know what they tested out and found out that gnome is using less resource than xfce. can't believe those tests unless i see reference for this.

I'll second for xubuntu. Xubuntu takes less resources than ubuntu. These days even linux is competiting for graphical richness of desktop. Because of this new version of ubuntu has many improvments. You can cut that all if you use xfce desktop manager. And i think xubuntu comes loaded with xfce manager. So that is one way to go and another way is try and ask in official ubuntu forums about how can you make ubuntu perform with lower resources. And about ubuntu taking less ram i think they stopped supporting 256 MB RAM after 8.10 version if i'm not wrong.
