  1. I've earned about $19I've got like $9 or $10 saved up
  2. I use audacity for my audio editing needs. It is a very good program and is fairly flexible. There is a heap of plugins to edit your sound files with, etc. I use it to record and edit files for all three of the bands that I am in. You can find it here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/ Another program that I use is called FL Studio. I use it to create the ambient tracks for one of my projects. The demo version is available for free, and has practically all the features except that it does not allow you to save files. You can still export the finished product as an MP3, etc. though . It has a fairly steep learning curve, but once you figure out the program you can use it to program drums, create guitar tracks (guitar tracks are especially difficult and the end product isn't that great ), techno tracks, etc. etc. It also has recording, mixing, and equalizing capabilities. The free version is quite useful, and if you need to expand the usability of it, you can always purchase the full program (although, its quite expensive). http://www.image-line.com/flstudio/
  3. I've heard of the bands you mentioned but I don't listen to any of those ones. I do listen to a good number of bands from Europe, although it's possible you may have never heard of them before. The list includes Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, Ensiferum, Coram Deo, Admonish, Bleakwail, Blood Covenant, Borgazur, Fire Throne, Holy Blood, Immortal, Moonsorrow, Primitive Graven Image, Suspiria Profundis... and thats all They are all excellent bands, so check them out if you like.
  4. Shouldn't you be aware enough of your surroundings to realize whether or not it is AM or PM?
  5. I really dislike mainstream music. It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, and one that requires much Listerine wash away .I really have no interest in mainstream music at all. Why? It is all the same, and it causes ignorance. Unfortunately, you have "artists" (if you can even call them that, take a look at someone like Brittany Spears. Her musical prowess consists of a guy in a studio creating a backing track and her producer writing her lyrics, which she then sings quite horribly) who really are not that talented, and yet their music is getting major exposure. As if that isn't bad enough, its pumped out to kids who don't really know anything about music - they only know what is popular. Want to know the reason why countless people think death metal is screamo music? They are only exposed to what is popular and tossed around the mainstream media - leading to ignorance. There is some amazing underground metal (no, Lamb of God, etc. is NOT underground, sorry), world, folk (thinking european - finland, norway, etc.), experimental, electronic, etc. music that the vast majority of people have heard of let alone even imagined. There are countless genres of music that people do not even know exist or have a clue what they sound like simply because they are pumped full of mainstream music.I really wish that this wasn't the case. It would be awesome if we could live in a world where people were exposed to a vast number of genres. It would be great if people could here an amazing Folk/World music band like Poropetra, or a great black metal band like Elgibbor. It would be great if people weren't programmed to focus on the mainstream musics, and look outside and find something truly original and interesting. Something created by talented people and truly worthy of the title art. That's my rant
  6. I finished tracking one of the songs for the full length I'm working on. It is roughly 15:25 long - unfortunately the song is too large for myspace, so I uploaded nearly an 8 minute sample of the song to the myspace page. I'll be writing lyrics and recording vocals for it later. https://myspace.com/browser Listen to it and let me know what you think! All comments are welcome and greatly appreciated. I'm planning on making the full length about an hour or even longer, and it will be available for free download when finished
  7. I think that your reply is fine the way it is. Its not unnecessarily long, and it addresses everything that needs to be addressed (as far as I know).
  8. Wow, that sounds like a really horrible product .I have had my iPod (120 GB classic) for 3 or 4 (maybe 5 months) and its still in great shape and works excellent. I think the rumor about iPods breaking often is mainly from people who don't actually treat there things with care. Before that I had some 1 GB p.o.s. that I had for at least a year. After that I lost it , so I don't really have any stories about my music players breaking on me.
  9. As far as I know, you are not able to transfer MyCents or the dollars you can earn from MyCents. I guess that is unfortunate as that would be a nice feature. From what I gather, the MyCents system requires a lot of bandwidth (? just what it seems like to me after some of the things I've read) when it updates and adds dollars to your account. I'm guessing that this could be one of the reasons why, as MyCents operations require lots of bandwidth, serverload, etc. Not sure if I'm correct about this or way off, but from what I gather that could definitely be a reason why.
  10. Honestly, it isn't that great of a song It was one of those over played songs of the early 2000s when this kind of hardcore/hardrock music was really popular... One of the major problems I have with the song is the vocalist. He sounds incredibly nasally and the mixing of the vocal track morphs some of his words... which to me is kind of annoying lol. And to add to that annoyance, this song is FULL of repetition, resulting in a barrage of the annoyances I listed.Of course thats only my opinion
  11. Hehe, well I figure I will make this a little more interesting . I'll post assumptions about you and your personality based on what you have in your pockets to fit the theme of what was said in the topic description. As far as your chapstick goes, it is possible that you live in a colder climate where chapstick would be quite necessary. Since you have gum with you, it is possible you may have bad breath unless it isn't mint gum. Wallet + empty cig pack = no money in your wallet since you can't afford a full cigarette pack . Your phone... I'm assuming you have friends . Lol that was fun I guess... Alright, I'll list what's usually in my pockets now. - Mobile Phone - Souvenir Wallet from Australia - Key ring with a cross emblem, two keys on it - Spare change, usually around $1.50 - iPod Classic 120 GB in a black leather case Alright, now the next person has to make assumptions about me based on whats in my pockets .
  12. Hello everyone . I am in a solo ambient project known as Eclipsing Black. I create deep droning ambient music and combine it with black metal vocals to create music with a truly dark atmosphere. I figured I would post the lyrics for all three songs that are on the EP entitled "The Light That Shines in the Darkness" (which is available for free download by the way check out my sig if your interested). The lyrics of the EP paint a picture of the Light that is Jesus Christ through the story of a lost soul wandering through their black world. I am posting all three songs in this thread as the lyrics are not very long. Dark ambient music generally focuses more on the musical aspect than vocals and lyrics. If you have any comments on these lyrics, please feel free to post them
  13. Well, I think you are definitely in imminent DANGER. Be very careful and keep yourself out of danger at all costs! Just kidding of course hehe.Well, frankly I wouldn't put too much stock in their dreams really. You really can't read to much into dreams, it isn't like they predict the future or anything. Its just one of those odd things that happens without much of an explanation, so I wouldn't really worry about it.
  14. I think you should definitely continue doing this. It is a good idea to be relaying warnings to people who live in those areas via chat rooms because there is the possibility they may not be aware of those warnings. I don't think it would be considered spam at all. As for the people who said "who cares", etc., don't worry about them . Obviously there were people who cared since they thanked you. So yeah, it isn't really spam at all.As far as getting others to help you goes... I'm not exactly sure how you would be able to do that.
  15. Xisto does let you buy a domain name as well as hosting for your website. A domain costs $9.99 a year from Trap. You can use your earnings to purchase any services that are offered in the "order" section of https://support.xisto.com/clientarea.php
  16. I would have to say one of the best teachers I have ever had is my math teacher from last semester. He is an excellent teacher and I learned a lot that I probably would not have had I been taught by any other teacher. He is able to keep you attention and is always willing to explore students questions very deeply. Sometimes we would often go off on tangents as a class simply for the sake of learning more about mathematical principles, etc.I think he is a great teacher, and hopefully, I will be under his instruction for math and physics courses that I take in the future. Now.... the worst teacher... hmm lolAs far as the worse teacher I have ever had... All my teachers have actually been pretty decent, so I haven't had any horrible experiences with teachers.
  17. I don't believe the torrents themselves are illegal. Although, if I am incorrect, someone please correct me. As far as I know, torrents are not illegal simply because they are used to share files. Now, the legality of these files is the dispute. If a torrent is being used to share files without proper consent, etc., then they are illegally sharing files. However, if torrents are being used to legally share files, then there really is no issue. Of course even though I am sure that the vast majority of torrent users are using them for illegal purposes, this does not mean the torrents themselves are illegal. This forum does not permit the discussion of illegal acts (unless it is a discussion on the legality, etc. of such acts), but so far this topic has not stated that the torrents are being used for illegal purposes...
  18. Pretty simple, but I like it. It is nice and clean. I think the colors work nicely together, and it isn't stuffed with too many things.I don't really like the font for the content and the latest news sections... Although I'm not exactly sure what would fit better there.Over all, I think you did a good job on it
  19. Heh, I think that's a pretty neat idea actually. It would be nice to have a watch that I can see at all hours of the day. Some of the watches were pretty nice looking as well. I imagine they have a pretty hefty price tag though . I'm quite sure I would not be able to afford one.As far as the danger of the radioactive components... Apparently they are well sealed and in such small amounts that if some sort of leak was to occur, they would disperse quickly and would not be harmless.Over all, I think this is some pretty neat technology.
  20. People do this all the time at my school and it is really a pain in the butt . It gets REALLY annoying and they think its just hilarious... They even did it to one of our teachers once when he was teaching our class... It displayed the user name of the person that shut it down, so he wrote it down... I imagine they got in a good bit of trouble It hasn't been happening as much lately though lol... seems like it has gotten old or something... thankfully.
  21. Hahaha... I seriously think my girlfriend wouldn't talk to me for a month :DDefinitely funny though, nice joke
  22. Hurray! Microsoft has finally smartened up. I have to agree that IE will be loosing a lot of it's users. I would say a large chunk of its users only use it because they think its the only available option... Its going to be nice to see people switching to browsers that don't suck. Maybe it could even encourage the makers of IE to increase their efforts and actually make a decent browser... nah I doubt it
  23. How we define right and wrong is a very important question we need to ask ourselves. As a Christian, I will attempt to answer this from a Christian perspective. In order to do this, I need to first ask the question what is truth? Truth is something entirely absolute, it is not relative. If something is true, it is true at all times and everywhere. 2+2 is still 4 regardless of which galaxy you are in, etc. So what does this mean as far as morals are concerned? Are they absolute, OR are they relative? Is there a right and wrong, or are morals entirely relative and created by society or civil laws? Now, before I begin my argument, I hope you will agree with something. If there are only two options, and one option is proven false, the other option MUST be true. I am either a male, or I am not a male. If I am a male, the "I am not a male" option is invalid. If I am not a male, the "I am a male" option is invalid. So, there is either right and wrong, or there is not right and wrong. IF I can disprove relativism, then by default, there must be absolute right and wrong as there are only two options. The view that there is no right and wrong is a form of relativism: In essence, relativism says there is no right and wrong is saying there are no absolute truths and that right and wrong are completely relative to what the individual thinks, feels, and believes. However, the problem with relativism is the statement "There are no absolute truths" creates a very large problem. "There are no absolute truths" is a absolute statement. If there are no absolute truths, then that statement invalidates itself and therefore is false. This being said, there must be absolute truths - there must be moral absolutes. At this point, I have given an arguement for the existence of right and wrong. Now that I have established there must be and absolute right and wrong, I will explain where this absolute right and wrong comes from. You may disagree with the following but its the only position I'll be arguing from . The Bible - the inspired and inerrant Word of God - accounts for right and wrong. God has established laws that we as His creations are supposed to obey. These laws are good, they are what is right. Disobedience to these laws is called sin, which is what is wrong. That's all I have to say.
  24. You should do what you choose too of course... However I personally am waiting until marriage, and there are good reasons to wait until marriage. My reasons for waiting are:1. I am a Christian, and I believe sex should be something only for husband and wife.2. I want my first time to be with my wife. I want to experience that great expression of love with the most amazing, wonderful, and loving person in the world... some one who I will always be with.3. You know what exactly your getting into no surprises when it comes to STDs, etc.
  25. I've recently set up a blog that offers free and legal Christian Metal downloads. In other words, the artists themselves have put out their material for free. This is an effort to decrease the amount of illegal downloading (which, ironically, is indeed stealing) that is occurring in the christian metal scene. I'm quite surprised how well the blog is doing so far, and one day we even hit 450 visits in one day! Quite a blessing Not sure how many people on this forum enjoy metal, but this blog has a wide variety of styles ranging from metalcore to black metal. Anyways Check it out BlabberDownload
