  1. i really don't think that there is floppy version of windows after windows 95 or maybe 98. I think that those windows "consumed" about 50, maybe even more, floppy disks. You should probably try network boot, if your laptop has LAN card. Also maybe linux, of some sort. You should post your laptop specs so someone can direct you to proper OS.
  2. Fractals are both mathematical and natural creations. Like most of mathematics come from nature, so did the fractal equations. I think that fractal equations are used to describe shapes that repeat into patterns which are then again generated from following rule. That's why they are often used to generate Game levels, that repeat in some patterns, like distant forests, or oceans even galaxies. Game The Spore which is upcoming "miracle" from Will Wright creator of The Sims, and Sim City uses fractal programming to allow users to create unique creatures, that would then be stored in few bits of data. Also fractal programming is hard, couse rules are strict, but achivements of fractal programming, is that GFX development is then cut down to less pieces that can then be reused to create whole landsapes with few lines of code.
  3. First time when i was online it was i guess in 1996, or something like that. I was 13 years old, and i didn't even understand what internet was except for IRC. Back than Microsoft had a chat i think it was called MSComic chat, where chatroom was filled with people who were like comics characters and had all those expressions. It was really fun. I didn't lie back then couse i didn't feel the need to lie. It wasn't like today where there is threat of pedofiles or some crazy psychos lurking around. I guess back then those kind of folks didn't know how to use computer Later maybe when i started using mIRC and first ICQ, i already knew the thing and was in my puberty years, so chating in the ** rooms was regular *geek*.. lol.. Ah those days. But it wasn't that much of a lie. I even met few "i hope they are girls" lol who said that they know where is the place i live in, which was strange couse i lived in croatia. Then google became more and more popular, and the whole world wide web evolved along with it, by concept of simpler forums, and other softwares like IM or even now Gmail, that made life on the interent pretty much simpler. But when you look at it in more wider perspective, most of people here hide behind their usernames. Small number of people really understand the internet in the means it's supposed to be understood. There are gazzilions of websites, most of which are lamme, some are so-so, but some are great. Like in life, the people you hang with will teach you things about internet, and show you ways that will mean a lot. There are no need for lies, and when you are a bit older u understand what is worth and what just **.I'm really starting to go O.T. But to answer this question, i would say - no i never lied on internet, i just showed another part of myself that i would never show in regular life. But by staying in touch with the internet more, slowly that part just became the part of my regular life.
  4. It sure sounds interesting. By developing this project you will need to look really deep into PHP and timing options, which will be great for your practice. Are you going to use MySQL or flat file for your project? Also, are you going to use some Javascript or Ajax, so that you can have some cool looking application? Also like jlhaslip said that there are probably large ammount of calendar/events scripts availiable, there is always a good chance that you will desing some nice script if you think of it enough time. Maybe you could try making a flux diagram before, so that you can add all the needed components and to see how are they gonna affect each other easier. It's also important that if you make it Procedural, that you leave space for your functions to easily be expanded, or removed if they don't suit your needs. Also try looking at the OOP programming perspective more. When you design a new application that maybe later you feel to expand, or develop even more, OOP is a great way to go.Keep us informed!Good luck
  5. Blizzard announced Starcraft 2 development, and screenshots. On their website dedicated to Starcraft 2, you can see trailer, and some game screenshots! This is certainly news of the year for the gamers community, and what's else to say than Hell, it's about time Respect!
  6. Time is unknown factor to us. We are living in world. Universe is our ocean. We feel that we are surrounded by matter, most of which is known to us. But like other living beings, we don't understand, how and why. Most of those answers come to us by passing of time. Sometimes i feel, and understand my place. Like a small parasite trying to do my best in the take i understand for now. But most of my tries are irrelevant. As i understand that we already evolved. Communication is important. Most of the takes in which we tried to communicate have failed. Some went crazy, other died. Some even decrypted the answer, but now are stuck in belief of what's beyond decrypted. It is so hard to tell at the time you are trying to tell it. New step of thinking is reversed time. Believing that it is possible to force the future to be like you want it to. But cripting memories so that they can be layed out for the future so that others can't understand them is hard. You need to dwell hard into your daily base. Also it helps when you don't mess around with other memories that are trying to reach future. But you know it is so hard. One can never tell are those memories already received and they just egzist couse they are well cripted, or are they so well cripted to be seen in future far far ahead. When seeing it, it's hard not to go crazy. Rarely memories are sane. Even lucid are weird, although hard to understand - they are clear. I had few recalls, and done the best as i could with them. Although sometimes i feel hard even to understand ones that are generated by my life, i feel happy for helping others, who ever they are. Couse they help me. They leave trails to follow, which are not so hard to understand, and that makes me feel good. I know my couse is worth my life, and i'm continuing to work for it. But how much will i succeed. Is it going to be to hard. Am i going to break at some point. Are they gonna break me. Those are the questions which we face every day trying to push something that we feel is right to push. Choosing answers is always better than choosing questions, and seeking for answers is better than seeking for questions. So far i lived. I did my best, and still trying to do much more. That belief is going to destroy me, i know of that. It's only matter of time that i'm going to sing. It's so hard. Fight. Fight and don't cry. Don't wonder too much, couse sometimes it's better to be blind on some things. Blind belief, blind faith. We need to prevail, and to get to the other side. When we do, happiness is going to come and last for a long period of time, which again will pass. Unknown power, and energy is the thing that pumps all of this. I'm trying to understand it, but you know. Hands, and eyes. Even brain. It's so complicated to understand that. It is even more complicated to try to write about it. To be continued...
  7. Microsoft. Ah, a giant dieing. This is one of it's last breaths, and it shows the true face of MS. Stupidity. Also i belive that all of their patents are lousy, and can be done better. This suit needs to determine a lot of stuff, and it's a hard job on judges. I belive that their gonna need to listen to lot's off ppl opinions and decide what is the best for the internet community. Why internet? Microsoft not while ago stated that they want to buy Yahoo. Yahoo has some shares in Google, and i also belive that MS is gonna reach for 51% shares of google by sleaziest ways possible. This suit is probably just an distraction of community while they try to buy Google shares one by one until they reach more than 50% and if that happens, it really wouldn't matter wheater open source egzists or not. A Corporation like Microsoft owning Google would throw such a stink on whole internet population. If that ever happens, like ghostrider said, i want to be in a possition to own my OS. To even have the access to main sites on the internet that haven't been touched by MS, and just to work all my life on convincing ppl why that Corporation needs to wanish from this planet. From this new growing population on Internet. MS sucks. I must say that i like Vista. But i hate their politics. They just kill the inner kid in people, making you belive that without them you are nothing. If this suit passes and MS wins, i'm gonna Lol a lot. I'm gonna lol few days, and then, get back to my regular duties. MS SUCKS! IF YOU READ THIS MS YOU SUCK!!!!
  8. A brief history of Champions League Champions League is most popular football (soccer) championship in the world. Champions League started in 1995 when first French sports daily L'Equipe, mentioned that it would be good to make an European championship that would be played on Wensday's night. At first it wasn't ment to be just a championship for Leauge champions but only for clubs that would be invited by the term of bringing the most crowd to the game. As league evolved now it is played by League Champions which based on their UEFA league score table go immediately to Groups, or they have to play 3rd 2nd leg of qualifications. From 1955 til now there were 22 different league champions. Most dominating club is Spanish Real Madrid. They won first five league finals, and until now they have 9 titles. After Real Madrid there is also AC Milan with 6 titles, Liverpool FC with 5 and Bayern and Ajax follow with 4 titles. Even with Real Madrid having 9 titles total there was no time in Championship when only one club dominated. Last few years Last few years Champions League was awesome. All of the mayor world players from Ronaldo, Shevchenko, Figo, Ronaldinho, Kaka played in clubs that play in Champions League. Some clubs there like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Internacionale invested great money into buying new players (mostly from Southern America) so that they could make a team which will have the capacity to win their League Championship and Champions league. Even with all those investments rarely one club manages to win both runs. But wining on both sides really means that Club has the play and power. Some clubs that really fascinated me were Manchester United in 1999 they won both titles, in dramatic finals with FC Bayern, when they were losing 0-1 whole game, and managed to turn it to 2-1 in just last 4 minutes of the game. Also FC Barcelona played some awesome football last few years, and finally they managed to win last year when they played against Arsenal, while they were loosing 0-1, Arsenal had one less player (red card), and didn't have the power to hold the score till the end. Greatest of all finals i've ever seen, although was bad for me couse i'm AC Milan fan, was that played a year before in 2005. AC Milan, and Liverpool FC played a game in Istanbul. AC Milan just played awesome, and Liverpool didn't stand a chance. By the end of first half Liverpool was loosing by 3-0! I watched the game with few of my friends, and we were already celebrating - BAD! In just 5 or 10 minutes in second half Liverpool scored 3 goals and the game was back on the beginning. It wasn't like Liverpool started to play good. It was just that they had three attempts on a goal, and three goals. We just sat down in our chairs, and wondered what happened. By the end of the game AC Milan had much more chances for goal, but they just couldn't manage it. Game went to overtime, and penalty shootout, after which Liverpool after whole 20 years of waiting held the Championship Trophy! This year - this finals Both teams Liverpool and Milan gave up on their Leaugue championship a while ago. Liverpool just didn't have a chance due to Manchester United and Chelsea dominated the Championship (which was won by Man Utd YEAH!! ), and AC Milan was cought in middle of a scandal in Italian league last year when several clubs including famous Juventus were cought in bribing judges and fixing league results. That ended bad for Juventus which was kicked in Second League, and Milan started with 8 points behind the rest of the clubs, and didn't have a chance to win such a hard league with so many points in minus. I'm not much of a football expert, but watching last games from both clubs made me realize that they play really awesome football. Last AC Milan game against Manchester United in semi finals, at home, showed how powerful AC Milan is. They just wasted Red Devils, and managed to get with easy 3-0 win, which in total ended up 5-3 for Milan couse they lost the first game in Manchester with 3-2. First half of the second game was announced as One of the best halfs in Leaugue history where AC Milan played a perfect game. Liverpool had a tough challenge with League second runner Chelsea. They both played two really hard matches which both ended up 1-0. In penalty shootout Liverpool ended up better with final result of 4-1. Overall I don't know if you are much of a football fan. But watching great sports, no matter which one is always awesome. I wish i had a chance to go to the finals and watch it live. I just don't have, so it will be me and TV. Also a couple of beers and a good friends is a must have when watching football finals. I wish that Milan manages to win, but knowing both teams, it's gonna be a really hard game. I wish it can be as the last match of those giants, no matter even if AC Milan loses, couse it's not only in wining but it's also in playing football.
  9. Lol, thanks for the * html tip .. And guess what, it wasn't CSS but HTML problem.. I opened and closed the wrong <li> at top. Now i saw how u did it and it's fixed. What can u say. Except, do you eat fish Oh, boy i really need to sleep now Thank you very much!
  10. I just started designing something that i thought is gonna be a really simple xHTML strict template. Everything is right except that i thought of using unordered list, some other list under that list. Well this is the code for the Menu that is cousing me problems <div id="lijevo"> <ul> <li>List1</li> <li>List2</li> <li> <ul> <li>List 2 Sublist</li> <li> <ul> <li>This is really long text that explains a bunch of nothing3</li> <li>This is really long text that explains a bunch of nothing2</li> <li>This is really long text that explains a bunch of nothing1</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> <li>List3</li> <li> <ul> <li>List 3 Sublist</li> <li> <ul> <li>This is really long text that explains a bunch of nothing3</li> <li>This is really long text that explains a bunch of nothing2</li> <li>This is really long text that explains a bunch of nothing1</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div> I arranged CSS with few simple code lines like this div, p, h1, ul, li{margin:0;padding:0; list-style: none; }div#lijevo ul { /*indenting and width*/ margin-left: 10px;} At first i didn't use that <li> tag before <li>list2 sublist</li> but that didn't validate as (x)HTML strict . Then when i added the tag IE shows padding under <li>List2</li>, like you can see it on test website HERE. Anyone knows simple way to overcome this problem..
  11. Since i'm in some sort of a posting crisis i'll post this bit OT question on this topic. I saw box.net provides <embended> scripts, which you can simply copy to your site and use it to show ppl your folders on which you uploaded stuffz. That's great option, with paid accounts you can even add users who can then upload to your folder from your site . I think that's great. I didn't google this really, but embended script is Flash script of course, and that little "engine" is made in flash. Now i find that <embend> option quite neat for my project, but i wouldn't use flash really but simple javascript (ajax). Is it possible to embend ajax in to some other page, so that maybe you can communicate to "my" server side script from your site, and then use some kind of XHtml request to show it back on "your" site. If somebody had experience with <embending> code to sites (and i'm hoping flash coders will read this topic), can you tell me is it possible to embend javascript (ajax) to other sites. I'm going to google for it of course, but if you have some smart opinions please post it here. Thanks EDIT: I solved the problem-> OBJECT instead of embend <object data="path/to/file.html" type="text/html"> alt : <p>nothing</p></object> It took me whole hour to google for this
  12. i came across the same site when i searched for the flash mp3 player yesterday. lol. this is good looking flash player. i need something similar for my site, and i think it would be great if someone here posted a full working script on how to make that. so if anyone has it please post it. thanks.
  13. I can't belive that there i no answer to this post. The assumption "There is no largest prime number!". OK, but from what number.. :unsure:Well, i find this proof really funny and i just had to reply to it. I just don't know the real reason to answer it but other than this is something really funny, and i hope that more people will read it.
  14. Also Gooles slogan is "Don't be evil!". Which is basicly oriented to modern Corporations which enslave their workers. Google has different opinion on workers and they give them best known enviroment to work in.They want their workers to feel like at home, to be relaxed and friendly, so they can use their wisdom at best..That also has some hidden agenda, but i'll leave it for readers to decide
  15. It's Pirates Of Caribbean. Johnny Depp was just awesome in first and second part, and i can't wait to see him in the third part. If he wasn't in Pirates, that movie wouldn't be as half as good as it is.
  16. Darn. Somebody is always using MySQL for comments, and lot's of other stuff. Well i'll write a Flat File script for those things so you guys will see..Flat file rules j/k
  17. Is it for webdesign of for gaming server? There is a simple solution if you want a Free Virtual Network, you can always use Hamachi. Free version supports up to 16 players. You can also buy it, and then support 256 players. All other people also need to have Hamachi installed in order to join your Private network. Check out hamachi website, and forums for help, and Wikipedia for information about hamachi and virtual network. If you don't want to learn all that fancy-schmancy server setting you can use hamachi instead. For personal server for hosting websites, try googleing apache server. Also there are tutorials on Xisto forums for setting up Apache server enviroment. Hope this helps
  18. Lemme contribute to this with few tips: Couple of important things when building your PC: 1) Motherboard: Is the most important part of a great PC. Most people try to save money buying lower price motherboards, which is greatest mistake. Good and quality motherboard is the main part of any build couse all of other components depend on quality of motherboard. Important motherboard specs: a) RAM memory speed support - sometimes you can buy RAM that has much more Mhz than your motherboard supports so beware that you buy motherboard that supports your RAM speed SLI support - New technology called PCI Express allows graphic cards to be connected in SLI enviroment. Use boards that support latest PCIE speeds (eg 8x), and allow SLI support c) Check for HDD support too. One of the coolest things for your HARD Drives is beeing able to connect two same hard drives in RAID field. Such option doubles(even triples) hard drive speed. Make sure you got 1Gb or more RAM if you are going to build this option. HDD is the slowest component (don't count CD, DVD or USB drives and similar) so improving your HDD speed you can push your computer to MAX 2) Processor: Make sure you buy proc that spends as less as power as possible, and has lowest heating temperatures. It's important for the size of your cooler, that proc works on lower temperatures so that later your computer don't make too much noise when using huge fans to cool proc. Make sure it has large amount of L2 cache also. 3) RAM: Buy the fastest RAM there is, and be sure it's speed is compatible to your Motherboard RAM speed support. The more RAM you have, better your computer will work, beacouse it's where all process load, and work 4) HDD: HDD is the slowest component on your build. So buying fastest HDD or even two same ones and connecting them in RAID field makes your computer Top Of The Pop's Make sure u also buy some extra cooler for your HDD couse it expands it's life span by many many years. 5) Power Supply: Buy expensive, quality, and approved power supply couse it's what gives power, and extends life to your all components. Make sure it's quiet and stable also. 6) Other Components: CD, DVD Rom's, USB drives, Modems routers are for special purposes for each user. Graphic CARD also. When buying graphic card ask yourself what are you going to do with your computer before. If you are graphic designer, and gamer be sure to buy latest and most powerfull graphic cards, that also have the SLI ability. If you use your computer for less purposess like writing some text in Word, or doing Math in Excel you don't need to wory about your graphics. Overall: Computer industry is still most growing and updated industry in the world. Every day new technologies are invented and broadcasted on market. If you have access on Internet which if you are reading this tutorial I guess you have, take your time. Often ask yourself what are you going to do with your computer and based on your demands build yourself a computer. Saving 50$ on motherboard is not smart. Saving 50$ on Graphic card is probably smarter, couse the same graphic card will cost 100$ less in year time. Don't rush into buying your computer. Take your time, and study each component your planning to buy as much as you can. Note: This tutorial is already outdated!
  19. PowerISO. Use this software to create virtual images (iso, mdf, etc), and to manage virtual drives. I like it beacouse it is really small simple and fast. Free version is limited to burning images only up to 300Mb. But if you buy it, you can get ireplacable piece of software (works with Windows Vista too)
  20. dunno about payed ads. but good way to promote it is to share it with your friends who have same interests as you do. then ask them to share to their friends, and to tell them to share to others. it's the best way for small "specialized" or "local" sites. but for paid promotion, well first you gotta have money
  21. I see you are having fun with php these days. Nice work. Thanks for introducing few cool functions. A small tweak to your script. Maybe you want random images. Just a simple html output like this.. <?php echo '<img src="images/random_image_'.$page_title.'.gif" alt="No image">'; ?> Should use your numbers to walk through random images in images folder (random_image_0.gif, random_image_1.gif, ...etc till 4. Maybe you can improve this script to work in total, i think that few tweaks have to be done.. Maybe later
  22. Great job, and best wishes for the future! Matak

  23. Hey, nice work on tables . Well personaly i don't think that column borders are must-have, and i know how it's .... hard to make borders work on all browsers. BuffaloHELP, did you maybe think of maybe using float: left; div tags for this thingy. I think that jlhaslip, since he's great with XHML, and CSS might help you with it, if you ever choose using div's instead of tables. This is the only forum that i saw that has TABLE bbcode . Go trap
