  1. Adverts are supposed to target the people that need whatever they need, so if you don't need anything, they won't appeal to you. Usually there are a lot of television advertisements that might feature some catchy jingles or catch-phrases and slogans that generate a sustained appeal, which often last in the society long after the advertisement campaign is over. Some of these so called ad jingles or catch-phrases and slogans may take on lives of their own, and they might spawn gags that may appear in other places, such as comedy movies or television variety shows, or sites like YouTube, or in written media, such as magazine comics or literature. Get a mac adverts usually appeal to me, even though I don't plan on getting a mac. I guess it's personal opinion.
  2. The more quality posts you make, the most likely moderators and administrators will see your posts, and the most likely that your warning level will be decreased.
  3. I think my satellite company has some channels that can be ordered separately, but they're a ripoff... 2.5$ for each channel per month. That's in addition to the 60$ per month TV fee, which basically has repeated crappy Canadian channels. Oh well.
  4. I think the most important thing is that you know what you're doing. I think it's especially important that an online business owner must understand webmastering and design, or else they'll have to rely on someone else to do the work, and that costs a lot of money.
  5. I don't think that Atheists should be considered evil... I mean it's just like another religion, in a way. I myself don't really have a religion, I don't know if that makes me an atheist. I don't actually deny the existence of God, but I don't necessarily believe he does. If Atheists are evil, then other religions would be evil as well... since they believe in different things. Religion itself is too sensitive, but in my humble opinion, it is sometimes obstructive and problematic...And another thing... saying that you don't need to see it to believe it is like scientists telling you what happens around us. We can't see or prove it, but we sort of have to believe it, because it's not like our opinions matter or work....I guess society just follows authority and knowledge.
  6. Somehow I doubt I can live without computers, or even the internet. It would kill me to have to edit a hand written essay, and it would cause so many problems if I needed to use the library for resources, and talk to people on the phone. In fact I don't remember using a phone for quite a while. Computers are really amazing if you ask me.
  7. Google's chat client is "Google Talk" which you can download here: https://www.google.com/hangouts/ (there is a place where you can download it, it says "Google Talk Client" and gives you this link: http://dl.google.com/googletalk/googletalk-setup.exe Oh really? That's weird, Gmail already has a "Sign up now" on the front page of Gmail. I do agree that a lot of tech savvys use Gmail, since it has all the features that the non-tech-savvys don't need. But non-tech-savvys are attracted to the large space... even though Windows Live Mail and Yahoo both have more than enough now. But who wants to use Windows Live Mail or Yahoo as their main email service? Yuck lol...
  8. Well gmail seems to be that popular one that is authentic and easy to use. It seems to be the fastest AJAX version of mail compared to AOL, Yahoo, and the ugly Windows Live Mail. But isn't that just a bit too bizarre... there seems to be so many features... what is Gmail missing? Google is such a large and rich company, what are they not going to be able to afford. For one thing Windows Live Mail certainly is missing a lot... no POP3 no mail forwarding and really crappy unattractive ads that take up half the screen. And it doesn't let you chat on your Windows Live Messenger inside the mail interface etc. Yahoo mail isn't better, its confusing and slow interface really made it a hassle for new users and definitely wasn't favoured by a lot of people, who quickly switched back to the old, but ugly layout. Same thing with the old and ugly hotmail. So what do you think Gmail is missing? Some things I notice are folders. Sure in the web 2.0 era, people use tags or "labels" instead of folders am I correct? Gmail is for those web 2.0 saavys, not the myspace wannabes who use hotmail, right? Well surely enough, Lifehacker and all the popular web 2.0 geeks use Gmail and use it very very effectively. So I still don't know what Gmail is missing...What IS it missing?
  9. It does seem interesting that this is brought up because I do sometimes find it difficult to recognize people without avatars... or accidentally see the wrong sig and think it's someone else. But the lack of avatars and sigs usually (and I mean, 'usually') imply that the person is not a frequent user of the forum. Usually members with more presence have avatars and sigs, while members who just registered or who lurk don't bother to do so.

    Lg Chocolate

The LG Chocolate does look rather attractive. But I think that's because of its name.
  11. The sad thing is I always always repeat these actions so many times. Does firefox reset it or something? Tired of having to change it every single time I remember to...
  12. Haha this is amazing how much popularity this thread has brought.
  13. How do you implement this into a current form, or as a filter to the form pages? I really like this tutorial, since it's simple and easier to setup than other scripts on the internet.
  14. I wouldn't see a reason to take over the world. I mean even if you do, the hassle is not worth it. Although this was pretty interesting to read...
  15. Wikipedia is reliable most of the time, but is not written by a professional. Also, you CANNOT and SHOULD NOT cite sources from wikipedia... it would be a very very stupid choice. Encarta may not be as elaborate or easy to access as Wikipedia, but it is certainly a much more reliable source. However, you cannot copy Encarta articles as they are copyrighted, but Wikipedia is open source, free for you to copy. I guess they both have their advantages and disadvantages...
  16. Google maps does not work offline because it's impossible to retrieve the HUGE database of images from Google's servers.... it would literally be thousands of terabytes. Even google can't afford that much bandwidth... I think a life-time supply of ISP bandwidth would probably not download every image...
  17. Hey I might actually try this! Looks quite easy to make.

    Iphone

Somehow I don't think the iPhone deserves such praise. It's just a mac embedded into a phone, and the price defeats the point... why not just buy a macbook?
  20. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????This would be really cool if it was real. And Google would probably make a lot of money from it!??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  21. I wouldn't mind if there wasn't the internet. Sure, I won't meet the people I've met, and discovered the things that I discovered.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????However, I can spend my time on other things, and this is a big problem.... lots of people just get addicted to the internet.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????There are so many "Make Money" on the internet scams that people fall into.... the internet is making it easier to communicate, and find information, but it's also easier to steal and do crime.
