  1. Prejudice never ends for someone who is considered a heretic by society. A society with more than 2,000 years of slavery to a denominating culture. One based on monotheism, blind faith, hatred for nature, suppression of the females and Human interest. I forgot the exact quote, but it goes something like this. "Everyone is a disbeliever, I just believe in one God less than you do." The world and reality doesn't comprise of things "good" and "evil" in entirety. Claiming the "world of an Atheist" to be subjective deriving from that is just utter foolishness or precisely, intentional ignorance. Religion is not needed at all levels of moral justification, wait, it isn't needed at all. Reality is never subjective for anyone, if someone says it is. Just cause some physical harm, and ask them, "Why did you subject yourself to the pain?" It's not possible for an Atheist to be spiritual, at all. The spiritual being has to be supernatural, hence, unbelievable. So much for his benevolence? When will he learn what man learnt? Brainwashing is morally incorrect. XD The point really is, Atheism doesn't have any place for anything supernatural, including Satan. If used symbolically, like in LaVey Satanic practices, then that's a different story all together. The argument that Satan is not God is completely out of the ball park, he's still supernatural. Something which nature can't allow to happen. What's the point in worshiping God anyway? Exactly. It doesn't take much for a person to realize that reality, empirically is not subjective, just how you perceive it. If someone is still adamant, hold them down and beat them down with melee weapons. Then ask them, "Is reality really subjective?" XD The last line sums it up.
  2. Okay, having gone through the entire topic, I found it better to clear some things out here than to reply to different posters.First thing, Amir, 2012 will not be a test for the Bible. Nothing will ever be. There has been no test ever for any religion, if a change has to happen, it would've already happened with the amount of empirical knowledge we have at our hands today. Besides, there are more than 10 theories that the World will end in 2012, not just religious ones, by the way.The Mayan Calendar doesn't predict the end of the World in 2012, it's the year that it ends. It just doesn't continue any further, which means that it could be the end of the world, but it doesn't make sense just to leave the calendar ending there without making a further note. Now I respect the Mayan civilization for whatever they did in their time but it just doesn't make sense to leave the calendar right there. Maybe it's sheer archeological/anthropological error which makes us believe that 2012 has been predicted by the Mayans as the last year to be witnessed by Humans. The only thing which pulls me slightly towards this theory is that the Mayans have been immensely accurate otherwise.Second thing, Christians, Jews and Muslims believe in the same God. Just different names. Jews don't believe in Jesus being their Lord and God's Son and Muslims don't believe in Jesus as God's Son but just another prophet, their reason to disbelieve the Bible is simple, contamination. Although I still wonder as to how the Qur'an could survive attempts of contamination since people like Dr. Zakir Naik and Harun Yahya have openly misinterpreted and even manipulated Qur'anic verses. If you wish to debate to on the many theories pointing out to 2012 as the last year of Human survival, please create a new topic since the offending vibe of this topic is openly intimidating. Besides, like TF, I see no point in debating over my beliefs or rather the lack of them just for a few points. I don't believe in unnecessary hatred although naturally occuring debates are most welcome.
  3. "As long as you're enlightened, you don't need to care about the waste of brain tissues."Simple as that. If you know that hair pigmentation has absolutely nothing to do with any aspect of the brain, then fretting over other people's ignorant views and opinions about things shouldn't matter to you. Once you learn to be indifferent towards such comments of generalization, things would be much better. Not just blond stereotypes, any generalization whatsoever has hardly any basis inside it. It's just stupid to generalize people so you shouldn't really care what other people say. Posting here or anywhere at all won't get you to ban the stereotype, you can't kill a joke, indifference is the only scratch for the itch. It's really easy to not feel a victim. I am fat and that too comes with alot, alot of preconceptions about me.In my honest opinion, as long as you don't care and tell your kids not to too, your morality won't really make you feel guilty of anything. XD
  4. Blind Faith absorbs you into itself right from the very first look at the cover of the book. The water, the rising London Eye with an iris in the center, the coloring, it's just spectacular. And then you stumble upon the name. "Blind Faith" Sounds pretty interesting? Or rebellious for some but it's sure to get your attention. Then later on when you go through the back-cover of the book and read a summary, it sounds so very bland and something that must've been the plot of a really bad sci-fi movie, it can lose you here. But once you start reading it, you just can't stop.If you're a fan of The Matrix trilogy and Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, then this book is a must buy for you! It's really a perfect blend of both, a perfectly crafted dystopian future which becomes much believable after some Chuck Palahniuk-style self-examination. "We've done the same mistakes in the past and here we are, this could very well happen."It's set in a time after a flood caused by global warming, looking at the advantage, the Church starts brain-washing people again leading into a very pathetic New World Order where you're illegal if you don't have faith. Privacy is illegal too. Science, self-thought, real self-respect, creativity, all are sins. Due to the hypocrisy of the Church, we have more technology in a small cube than was needed to get the first Human onto Moon and yet vaccines are illegal. It's about one man's journey from an itch he can't scratch who has been completely void of imagination, self-respect, creativity and the capability to think into everything he's told to fear. How he saves his second daughter. How he discovers the whole new world of books, which have been banned by the Church, of course. How he starts triggering his imagination, creativity and becomes more and more of a Church-defiant. And then when he stumbles upon Origin of the Species, his life changes. How he triggers a revolution, is upto you to read. ;)If you like some controversial fiction, this would be perfect for you.
  5. And I always though this had something to do with bio-technology. XD This is surely one very informative post. Trial and error have ruled out every other competitive theory and evolution has been the best example of this. Using evolution's basic strategy in programming would surely increase the productivity. The brief way in which you explain it almost clears all the doubts regarding the workings of genetic programming. And well, NASA uses this. Well, Darwin's Theory of Evolution does go that way. You can always read Origin of the Species if you have any further doubts. Though, it's tough to define stages in evolutionary biology since unlike genetic programming, we aren't looking forth to a goal or target or a particular function here. We are only looking at survival, ways and means of survival change with nature as nature evolves, so it's a never-ending cycle as far as I can guess. Nature evolves, which makes us evolve, we bring about changes in nature which makes it evolve. And yes, we have greatly influenced evolution, especially in the past 10,000 years. With culture, language, religion, communities and everything that goes with them.
  6. I definitely agree to all of the earlier replies, except the one by Sica-GURU. I can keep my friends and people updated on everything that I'd like them to be. Even special occasions can be made even more special through blogs. I have a blog where I have my private "psychobabbles" (rants with a philosophical edge, revisions of old used proverbs) about the world which only my really close friends can read. Though they still can't comment on any of the posts. Then, there is a separate writing journal too. And they all seem to equally help you, psychologically. It isn't the same as maintaining a real-life diary, for many reason. It really makes a difference when your thoughts, the chemical synapses in your brain are there in words somewhere. It's where people can know what exactly do you feel and think. It's not like a diary, it's not where you write about stuff Disney asks you to think about 24x7 or where you're scared to death that someone might read it. It's just not. It's different, because people don't call them diaries despite them being technically the same thing. Call it the psychological effect of a new word, "I'll say exactly what I want to say, make people hear it, too." For all new bloggers out there, I suggest you go have a look at WordPress right now.
  7. Science never had a concrete in-a-nutshell theory about the creation and destruction of our Universe, the Bible has. Beliefs are subjective but genetics isn't. Even the presence of MCRAs Mitochondrial Eve and Y-chromosomal Adam didn't help much to postulate that there would've been a "first couple" like for say, Adam and Eve. Even this "couple" lived around 60,000 years apart and most probably within a community of humans existing in that time. But God did create this Universe out of nothing, right? And yes, before further posting, please go get yourself educated on the Big Bang. Do you realize you're making a joke of yourself by comparing it to a firework or lets say ballistic explosion? Rvalkass did a very fine job in explaining it to you. Or piecing together the dissociated knowledge. Physics is not one Christianity-friendly statement, it's a puzzle. Btw, 'Big Banger' is a amazingly amusing adjective. XD The last time you thought that God exists, he did. So there must me some creator behind him too? And some creator behind that creator? This is a clever way to run, though. Assumptions, of everything ranging from language, society to the very time-line of Human societal evolution. Define purpose. Define reason. Reason to do what? What is crime? Who is a criminal? What is religion? What is God? Answers to these questions change every second, and you can't help but assume? A million years of evolution, and this is what you come up with? Your own purpose in life which you decide, or let someone else decide for you is entirely dependent on the fabric of society. It wouldn't have been same a hundred years ago. This is exactly where almost all institutionalized/organized religions lose me. What on Earth does a snail need to do to climb up the ladder of morality? Leave a better trail of slime? What is an Autistic person to do? When most of them don't even know what to say most of the times, or have the ability to comprehend the multitude of the Human dominion over everything that we can sense. Would succumbing to the intentional ignorance of a few others make me climb up too? What is morality? Few pages of text? Are we really that disgusting? Are we really that disrespectful to our own existence? Nature and that 3% DNA gives me reasons enough. Religions have changed with society too. So have the "purposes" of life. I'll take care of mine and you take care of yours. It's much more beautiful that way. I don't get this. When God is omniscience, what's the entire idea and motive behind creation itself? Honestly, even after giving me my experiences, he knows already whatever I'm going to do. Why do I then need to pray? Convert to Christianity lets say or live a life at all? He already knows whether I would succumb to his tyranny or no, so why not teleport me to Neverland directly? Why are not infants born with talents and passions? Why do they change over time? Besides, why are they so dependent on society? Where would've been passion for lets say, gaming be 100 years back? Or collecting Rolls-Royce when they hadn't even started being produced? Or, what's a passion for hunting deer today? With a bow and arrow, btw. Mass extinction? Hardly. Humans have survived the last Ice Age, this time we have Science to help us with it in a better way. And for all you know, that "prophecy" would've been already fulfilled hundreds of times before ... I see no Jesus. If it is something, it's all falling out of place ... why do I have pay for my sins when God knew about the sins that I was going to commit before I was born? Why did he give me the chance to commit those sins? And no, I am not expecting a lame "free will" argument here, that'd be free credits for me. XD So much for an omniscient God, pfft. I wouldn't really comment on that. XD
  8. I'd like to add. It's impossible to prove a rape in Islam, or prove it and then let the victim go alive out of the Court. Just like most of the Sharia laws, thanks to another law peddled by Muhammad (as written in the Hadith itself).I can provide the verses if needed.
  9. If you don't know what I read, you can't be sure that it wasn't Qur'an. Now, here we go again. Muslims have been exploited, just like it happens in every century to someone or the other. But it's completely irrelevant to the genuineness of the Qur'an. If asking for sympathy is the way you think Islam can be proven right, then you're sadly mistaken. You're just making a boring joke of yourself. A threat to be burnt in hell, in a book which promises to be true. A book which uses pseudo-Science to prove itself to be a word of God that can only appease cavemen or the ignorant. This can make anyone change. The Mughal emperors of India were one of the best this World will ever know. No wonder Akbar deviated from Islam and went on to form his own religion. No wonder the Mullahs were so pissed off every now and then at most of them. Deviating from the overly-accused America for awhile and examining things in a bit more general way, "Islam literally translates to Peace" is a propaganda while reading an Arabic dictionary and discovering that Islam means "slavery to God" is something I think is just ... right. Gets you thinking, isn't it? And no, terrorists aren't cheaters. You are. I am Human. I have a brain. I did think. I did look for answers. I did read about History. And thus I landed up onto the conclusion that women getting half the inheritance of their male counterparts just cannot be accepted as equality. That the impossibility to prove a rape is something good that Islam brought to the World, cannot be agreed by me. That comets are God-sent missiles to destroy the tower of Jinns, is anything close to reality is something I cannot believe in. I cannot overlook the hundreds of contradictions in the Qur'an and I cannot stand Taqqiya. I cannot overlook the Hadith itself mentioning that many of the Sharia laws were peddled by Muhammad himself. That Allah is anywhere near merciful when he promises to furl the fire of Hell with infidels, is something I cannot believe in. I cannot believe in Islam being a peaceful and tolerant religion when one of the most important duties it bestows upon a Muslim is to eradicate all faith but Islam. I cannot overlook what a disgusting joke Islam is. I'd like to say where exactly he said that. And then you'd be surprised to know how there are 5 contradictory verses for each verse you give me. Go kid your own self. Yes, you need to say alot more than this, since this is thoroughly inadequate and inaccurate. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it just is.
  10. I would place myself at somewhere 6+I have a Naturalistic point of view. I love to know about different cultures and communities and even religions. I examine them and I adopt things I can defend and think are beneficial for me and any human in general. I though have no respect for the hypotheses of God or any deities/myths/inherited ignorance.God is very improbable from what we know about the workings of Nature, but then there's so little that we know.
  11. I think she meant that post for me. Anti-Islam terrorist, pfft. The only ones who seem to have a myth about Islam are the followers. No matter how much that offends you, that's the sad truth. I am yet to receive any counter-arguments to my posts. If in Islam women and men are equal; then any of these two impossible things are true right now: [1] The meaning of equality is actually it's opposite. [2] The definition of Women has changed. And please do us a favor and don't post "articles" by Zakir Naik and Harun Yahya, I have no time to waste on easily countered propagandas. I would like to know, just one thing, a single thing which makes women equal to men in Islam and I'd never look down on Islam again. Women were in a much more better position in society in Arabia before Islam. Muhammad's first wife Khadija? She was a prosperous business woman. Infact, Muhammad would've been nowhere if not for her support and wealth. It's kind of funny how Islam still remains about peace even after every alternate verse consisting of a death threat to infidels and non-believers. Islam means surrender, surrendering oneself to God. The right type of political correctness is to speak nothing at all. No, it's not necessary to know the situation in which the Ayah was revealed, 'cause Islam is supposedly the last word by God which would be preserved and would remain the same and applicable for all coming centuries and civilizations, Islam was never meant to be a "temporary remedy". And if you do impose that it was, then why do you call yourself a Muslim now? When evidently, things have changed, and they'll keep changing the same way. Islam failed to prove itself 1400 years back, it definitely fails at it now. If we do take the time and situation in which the Qu'ran was revealed, it just stabs back at it's validity. I could go into detail if you want me to.
  12. That is one fabulous looking sig! The C4D works magic with the render (especially the mask part of it) and the feel is evil enough too. XDShe's surely going to love it.
  13. These trendy ****s have nothing better to do than labeling themselves and calling everyone else a conformist just 'cause they don't confirm to their social code. And I know how it pisses you off 'cause the same thing happens to me. Emos' are nothing better than those "hip and happening" gangstas'. Billy Talent put it in a better way, "Urban hipster, the new gansgta." Conceited little "rebellious" people for whom rebellion is shelling out 30$ from their mother's purses and buying "rebellious" clothing from malls. XD It's sort of sad but it's anyways tough to find people with self respect nowadays. On the looking human part, I might just be the only kid in this entire country to have a actual mohawk and not that *BLEEP* Beckham hair-do and that well ... creeps the hell out of people everywhere I go. Except for my friends who just can't stop playing with it. Though apart from that there's nothing I do (lets count growling and air-guitaring out of my activities) that would make anyone think I am any less human than themselves. But yeah, perfectly normal people looking like creeps for the heck of it is well ... sad. I have no idea should I cry or laugh when I hear such things from people. I should laugh 'cause they're just stupid and being an Anarchist it hurts me that this is how the mainstream sets in delusion into young minds to churn out profit. :S Wear Abercrombie or whatever you want. As long as you want to and not think you should.
  14. [1] I don't care what Islam states as it's five pillars, I care for reality, what Islam really is and not what it claims to be. Females have been inferior in every goddamn way in Islam. Give me one verse that can prove me wrong and I'll give you a dozen that you slap back at you. Islam never brought equality between master and slave, it just promoted racism and blacks were still treated as slaves. Muhammad had many black slaves and he called them 'raisin heads'. It is even there in the Ahadith that a dream of a black woman means forthcoming disease or illness. [2] Oh really? If Islam is not in danger then why so much of terrorism, insecurity and whining all over the world? For some reasons Muslims are always agitated about something or the other. Bow down or get yourself blown up. [3] That's like asking the proof of the Earth revolving around the Sun. Go on and read what many Muslim scholars have to say, none of them have a sound and stable understanding, they all bend the verses in order to fit the situation. All translations are different and Zakir and Harun completely changed the shape of the Earth itself from a carpet to an Ostritch's Egg. Muhammad terrorized the neighboring tribes and enforced Islam. He raped the captives and so did the followers. Islam punishes rape as an offensive crime but the circular logic makes it almost impossible to detect rape first of all. Rape victims still live in despair and most of the time they are itself punished in Islamic countries. One recent case was of a lady who was black-mailed by a man and then ended up getting gang-raped by 4 of them. Now she got executed because she was "with another man" alone. If she wouldn't have been, her family would've executed her as the blackmailer would lie to her family about her affair. And guess what? Only verses were used in the entire "justice" process. [3.2] No, I should not. Because the Qu'ran is supposedly the final word of God which is applicable to all coming time. Irrespective of the time, period, geography or anything whatsoever. Is your "God" so imperfect? [4] Not all Muslims are always given terrorist roles. Almost all of the leading actors in Bollywood are Muslims. The "Superstar" itself is a Muslim. [5] Educate people on what Islam is? Do YOU have any clear idea of what it is to start with? Why doesn't God come and educate people instead of "mere mortals"? [6] 'cause Islam doesn't believe in Peace. The entire Qu'ran is filled with threats and promises of Hell to non-believers and who don't obey Allah's words. I can't believe in a God who punishes others for his mistakes. [7] I am not an American and I don't care for that hypocrite Christian state. I don't know why all Muslims are so blind to ever see that there is a world outside America and their book. [8] Why? What kind of a question is that? If you want me to clarify things with you, ASKING me is better than sending suicide bombers to kill me. Or here in a less destructive sense, posting hate. [1] First, I don't even know who Arun Shourie is. Second, in which way should I prove that I have read the Qu'ran? Ask me something. [2] Okay now I am SICK of you Muslims whining and crying all the time about America. Just because I am anti-Islam (I am anti-religion anyway) doesn't mean I am pro-America. I hate G. W. Bush to make it clear and so do many Americans. I don't care if America terms Muslims are terrorists, I don't give a damn about that. That's not why I am anti-Islam. I am not even American or someone who fancies Americana. I hate 50 Cent and GTA series is JUST a game and nothing more than that. It depends on how mature you are to take in the content in the correct way. And it so seems you aren't enough. America's "fight against terrorism" is terrorism and I agree with that. "Terrorism as defined by official U.S. documents is the calculated use of violence or threat of violence, to obtain goals that are political, religious, or ideological instate. A labeled rouge state, look at your self." - Rody Walker (vocals, Protest the Hero) in the song 'These Colors Don't Run' I don't support Osama, neither do I support Bush, so just shut up! [3] That itself is a lie. [4] I am not self-made, neither do I have a creator. No one and nothing in this world is perfect. That's one of the most ignorant statements Theists make. The very reason Universe doesn't have a Clockmaker is because it's not a Clockwork and neither can it be compared to one. It's about time you start thinking. The presence of a Creator still doesn't justify Qu'ran in the remotest way. [5] You seem to be unaware of 3 of the most widely used translations. YUSUFALI: "And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse);" PICKTHAL: "And after that He spread the earth," SHAKIR: "And the earth, He expanded it after that". - Qu'ran, Chapter 79, Verse 30 This was of course, only until Zakir Naik and Harun Yahya wanted to manipulate them and make them look more "scientific". "And we have made the earth egg shaped". - Qur'an, Chapter 79, Verse 30 I can't believe in a God who can't comprehend basic Physics and acknowledge that the shape of the Earth is not constant and keeps on changing due to Centrifugal force and the climatic changes. Allah didn't pass High School, I guess. [5.2] Comets and shooting stars were said to be used by Allah to kill the Jinns who were "overhearing" the Qu'ran by making a ladder between Heaven and Earth. The Qu'ranic idea of cosmological layers is as absurd as it gets. Surah 72 clearly states that the Jinns who used to form a ladder by climbing upon one another towards Heaven overhearing the discussions were then burnt and the ladder was destroyed by "guided" stars and meteoroids. I wonder who was Allah discussing anything with if he's the only perfect being up there in Heaven. [5.3] So you do agree that females are inferior to males in the Qu'ran? Isn't that sexism on Allah's part to make them inferior to males? "Islam gives rights to females"- as if females were deprived of rights all along. Islam disgraces and does injustice in every way. Don't the females have sexual urges, then why shouldn't the males wear a Hijab too? Why should the daughter only get half the inheritance that the son gets? Just some of the inequalities. There are many. Why can't a woman marry many males and why just Polygamy? [6] The Qu'ran clearly is commands and laws, there are no "signs". You believe that our thinking can advance or isn't as advanced as it should be now? Why did Allah "design" us in this way? Why did Allah say that he'd preserve Qu'ran and it would hold true for all coming centuries. Was he so weak that he couldn't save his old words from manipulation? [7] Go watch YouTube. There are plenty of videos there. [8] Hypocrisy. Guess the hypocrite-hater Allah was a hypocrite himself. Why are we promised Hell when to me it's my religion and to you it's yours? No compulsion in religion? Then why has Allah promised to burn us in hell unless we convert to Islam? The problem is Humanity is out of question when all you are is a slave with a lost soul and your only goal is to service God and not mankind. Human beings can be really easily overlooked for the pleasure and service of Allah, God or whatever. It is an interesting read nonetheless. I can't believe the Church is filled with so many seats where I see so many individual-run schools for the under-privileged with students sitting on grounds. I don't understand why the money Vatican receives can't be used for Stem cell research and Cancer curing researches. I don't understand why so much of land is wasted on building temples when we are anyways running out of land and are getting into deforestation.
  15. Have heard this argument way too many times, finally decided to read and try and understand the Qu'ran myself. Which when I did, was quite happy too so I won't be fooled again. If rape, terrorism, sexism, racism and much more is considered peace, then Islam definitely is a religion of peace. Muslim "terrorists" are just people who've actually understood the Qu'ran and the Hadith well. If you're against terrorism, I am more than glad to know as I am too. But defending your belief by lying is just not right, even if it's permitted in Islam. And I very well know lying to "safeguard" your religion is very well permitted in Islam. And just imagine how it would've hurt those kids just my age to lose their parents 'cause someone else wanted to believe that the Earth was flat, comets are God-sent missiles and females are in any way inferior to males. Not trying to get into any religious debate here but I guess in this century we are way more enlightened and sophisticated to finally grow up and forget Santa Claus. He simply called an Emergency so that Pakistan gets into a state of panic. And it very well did. Although I think this assasination was a joint-effort of the Al-Qaeda and Mussharraf. He gets the throne, they get their breeding grounds safe from Democratic invasions. Both get Theocracy and the Muslim who was speaking like an "infidel" is put to rest forever. No one has ever understood the message. Muhammad contradicted what he preached or made other writes in the Qu'ran. All Muslim scholars give in their own interpretations of the various circular-logic based hypocritical verses. I don't blame you that you believe in Islam and Peace at the same time. [1] I never needed the Media to make me realize how disgusting Islam was.[2] Say something new. [3] Why do you need Media? Learn from villages in Pakistan and many Islamic countries and breed 11 children per wife. That works faster than Media. [4] I love them too, including Harun Yahya. For making me laugh all the time with their awfully funny attempts at trying to be making any sort of sense. [5] And it's permitted in the Qu'ran too. Although it's kinda sad how Zakir and Harun manipulated the Qu'ran in the steps of the early scholars to again "safeguard" the "never-to-be-manipulated" religion of Islam. [6] Some contradictory goals there. [7] No one needs you to tell us when we've got the Qu'ran for ourselves. I don't want hate-posts in reply. And I don't want anyone to preach me. If you want me to explain why I think Islam is what I think it is, all you need to do is ask.
  16. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I guess looking into facts might just be a bit of a help? I can't think of a reason why the government would do something like that. That too all the world governments together. That topic was worth discussing like the sucking of light topic, it was just discussion as to what would happen. This was plain rubbish. Paleontology would still exist, if not Dinosaurs, there are many other extinct animal fossils to be studied. No scientist ever saw a Dinosaur. And there was never a legend, unlike the legend of Dragons and I was watching this show some years back where they showed that some new fossils discovered might just be Dragons. Approximately 65 million years. Their extinction is still debatable though. :\
  17. Why not just switch off the lights? It still won't "suck" the light.
  18. [1] Verification needs knowledge. Something we are not born with, but gain over time. Even the upper Paleolithic were as intelligent as us, sadly they just didn't know much.[1:2] Current political India once was a piece of Earth divided into 3 parts, by natural conditions of course. Pagan deities existed from the time language and human settlement came into existence. Later in the Vedic era, the Vedas (most Hindus don't even know how many Vedas exist) organized almost every known Pagan deity into one spirit, the Par-Brahma. Thus, irrespective of which part of India you go to, any local deity is pulled into Hinduism. In fact, there is a new supernatural entity in every village. Due to this, every state has it's own dominant religious celebration, the names and the myths. [1:3] You failed to get the point entirely. And whether Krishna was a mythical entity or not is highly debatable as there have been excavations which might turn out to be the lost city of Dwarka. A seal has been excavated which would only be found in a city where Krishna ruled. The gaps filling the vacuum of Jesus' early years has way too many similarities to both the mythical figures. [1:4] Missed my point again. The surroundings the religions originate from leave their traces onto the religion. Jesus had to be nailed, wasn't the Roman Empire a giant killing machine? Muhammad had to do with Arabic itself, since 23 years of being stranded in a desert with a psychological disorder didn't give him much artistic choices. God had to prefer the tribes of Israel and chose Hebrew as the language. Brahma had to wear a crown with a design similar to the crowns of Indian rulers. [1:5] If that's the case, then God is pretty much an a**hole to first "create" humans with enquiring minds and then later on expect them to believe in something not proven until it's too late to change paths. He's just filling Hell for the fun of it. Guess the Absolute Truth isn't moral enough Himself. [1:6] The same can be slapped back at Christianity by any other faith. [2] Circular logic. Sorry, I'd prefer not wasting my time. [2:2] For me, nothing can be Truth unless it verifies itself completely and not a bit more than the counter-parts. I guess it doesn't take much for you. [2:3] You sadly underestimate the imagination of Human beings. [2:4] And that's because we are aware of a few things now. We weren't long back when plagues were written down as Divine words. Why did the people lose faith in Priests after the Black Plague? Why aren't homosexuals burned on *BLEEP* anymore? Why are Blacks now welcome to Islam? We are more enlightened then we were. [3] and [3:2] Then why aren't there any rules or revelations for animals since they're His creation too? I don't really expect you to answer this since not even your God knew exactly what did he create first, the humans or the animals. [3:3] Religion is widely-known for hypocrisy. Islam has it's own what I call "silent-trinity", the Prophet, Qu'ran and Allah. Religion IS ego, it's a direct descendant of the egoistic nature of humans. What makes us think that even if there is some guy up there, he'd only care for us? And why not the put on the revelations on the whales instead and create laws for them since their language being more complex and better than us, they could surely understand and abide God's words in a better way than we ever will. [3:4] Circular logic again. Goodness is subjective, a completely humane way of grading an activity or thought, therefore the path is subjective. There is no Path of Goodness, hence it's not reachable, no wonder it requires a supernatural road-map 'cause nature doesn't support non-existent things. Each human creates a different path him/herself, some chose to follow someone else's out of fear and want. [3:5] If I wouldn't have taken that as a joke, you would've proved my point that religion degrades the logical reasoning aspect of the human brain. People don't usually ask whether I even have a religion or no, 'cause simply due to dogma unfaith cannot exist. People simply ask me, if ever, which religion I have. My simple answer is, I don't have a religion. [3:6] Read the next point you yourself made. [3:7] Faith is not the only thing that brings them hope and/or love. Landing up on the conclusion that faith is needed is blatant ignorance of everyday life. I have a hope for the future of the race, only if we stop messing with the environment and don't end up nuking ourselves. I have love for my family, my friends and special people without the interference of a hypothesis or faith in any known/unknown religion. [3:8] Missed my point completely. [4] Without diving into marriage, I disagree with the term "incest" itself. If two sound mature humans want to enjoy something in consent with one and another, I am absolutely no authority to deem their activity wrong. I have no idea how it "disgraces" once family members, and now for the reason why some Atheists deem incest wrong is the biological barrier put upon reproduction after the mating of direct/first-wave family members. So no, when Atheists deem incest wrong, they aren't being silently religious in any way. [4:2] In the education system I did my schooling, I didn't have the choice to chose a single subject. History, English, Hindi, Math, Science, etc. all were mandatory. [4:3] Saw the link, read just what I expected I'd read. Circular logic again. [4:5] Eternity. [4:7] None of them. Wikipedia can't be trusted but this will give you the basic idea; Mitochondrial Eve and Y-chromosomal Adam.
  19. Well, if you're speaking of light being transformed into another form of energy, I haven't a clue of that as Physics is something I am definitely weak at. But the only way let's say light gets "sucked" is in the case of Black Holes. The reasons; let's get to them later. Recreating a Black Hole is impossible on Earth, so for now your Dark Bulb won't be something plausible I guess. We can't recreate the gravitational pull to suck in photons traveling at a speed of 3x10^8 m/s so light cannot be "sucked" into anything. If light is bombarded onto the bulb, depending onto the material, it might reflect or retract or scatter, nothing that would make it get "sucked" into anything. We require humanely impossible to recreate gravitational force and then let's say something 'unknown' to have light sucked into it. We don't really know what exactly happens to light inside a Black Hole, so until we can't figure that out, we won't be able to figure this out either.
  20. [1] I guess so. [2] Yes, those times were known as the Dark Ages. Being a 'secular' country, guess what is written on almost every government building in America. Living in a 'secular' country, I know how every religion rapes my nation in each and every possible way. Politicians simply use the Churches or Temples to gather them some balance in their vote banks. Well, Atheist has more or less become an abuse, just as 'gay' or 'lesbian', it's simply considered heresy. [3] That's the entire point. You don't follow some morality, you have set one for yourself based on your experiences, learnings and the life you lived. Moralities change based on experiences and thinking, you aren't born coded with one inside you. Religion itself hates curiosity. I have always believed, there is no absolute Truth, but Change- subject to all. And so far, I haven't found a single reason to differ.
  21. [1] The only reason Judaism and the later faiths have remained until present day is because they could spread as the World was comparatively smaller. Now you may ask how Hinduism has existed, it was isolated in India and plus, not a single Hindu has any idea about his religion. Well, I haven't found one for 15 years. For how long did the Egyptians worship Isis? Or the Sumerians worship Ishtar? Or the Greeks worshiped Zeus? In fact the whole Christ figure was stolen from Greek and Hindu mythology. Hercules and Krishna of course. The civilizations they originate from leave easily noticable watermarks on all religions. Religions come and go. All revisions, all called revealed truths. Even Hammurabi's Code was supposedly revealed to Hammurabi. I guess God just loves changing his mind. [2] Buddhism does not imply a Divine being. It simply implies on the concepts of Karma and reincarnation. Which in the end implies on a universal Judging system. It doesn't define it, it doesn't go deep into it. Call it the energies reaching equilibrium. It in no way implies of a Divine being. And it isn't more Atheistic than Pre-Vedic Hindu (referring to the geography here) literature or Atheism itself. Early Sanskrit literature was deeply Atheistic, no wonder where Buddha got most of his stuff from. Though I immensely respect that guy. And on Christianity; how does it matter if it's 'more consistent' than the others? Anyone can come up with a new religion tomorrow with more consistency, would you still believe in Christianity then? Anyone can use a bit of pseudo-Science and convince primitive man (Guess what did Muhammad did) that the only way to salvation is by jumping into a Black Hole! [3] Why can't the animals attain "salvation" when we are just like them? Why can't the organisms on some other planet attain "salvation" and why is the Creator of Everything so obsessed with just Us? The greatest reason for why we plagued ourselves is our sophistication and ego; and religion is undoubtedly the biggest ego of all. Good existed before God, good will exist after God. Goodness is one thing this hypothesis just never brought to Earth. The insecurity of man makes him require a supernatural road-map to a simple path of goodness, a map which doesn't even correspond to nature and Earth as we know it. No one asks for my religion when I save some guy from getting bullied just outside the Church (I have a Church in my school), no one asks for my religion when I help someone on the road. I don't ask anyone to become an Atheist for a simple humanitarian intervention in their lives. I don't need to belong. For the good, I guess. People don't need faith, but it's easily to sell one to them. Sell 'em hope, tell 'em to pray instead of getting up and doing something yourself. It's easier. [4] Atheists in no way believe in absolute morality, you can't even club the morals of all Atheists into one. I know an Atheist who is against incest, I know one who takes part in it. Most Atheists are pro-Homosexuality only because we currently live in more enlightened times. For an Atheist like me there is no absolute morality. I know an Atheist who believes in remaining a virgin till he marries, I know one who is a bit less touchy about it and I know one who'll just do it for the fun of it. Pretty similar morals, I guess. Information in the Bible? From when did stories become information? And I would rather not believe in a book which asks me to believe that all the animal species lived in walking distance from Noah's house. I wonder how he calculated the number of species he got on there, biologists would love to have God reincarnate him. Genesis 3:5, yes we have an insecure God. How did Adam live for another 930 years? I would surely love to know. If he ever existed at all since going according to the Bible he couldn't possibly be African.
  22. Kind of the point why ignorance is not the way out of these things. And people still dream of possible co-existence. In religious terms? Definitely. Almost every religion has a different code of ethics and levels of morality, mostly revisions of Hammurabi's Code, great man nonetheless. Though it's kinda funny how religions brag about their morality quotient and don't even get near to Buddhism. That's like the most moral religion you can ever get.
  23. Well, I am an insomniac but I've been getting like 2 or 3 hours of sleep lately and I don't remember blackness, just vague dreams. The thing that happens to is I forget dreams just the second I open my eyes, I just remember I had them, some colors here and there, nothing much. Though if I do somehow manage to remember them, they make me upset the entire day long. So I guess the side-effect you have mentioned might definitely be one.I am having a week of vacations and nothing much to do, so I guess I'll have the time to try these out. XD
  24. I agree with truefusion here that only <- snipped -> won't get the owner much money if he gets anything at all with just clicking. Plus, the money could be probably working for the sister sites or for the bills or maybe his personal life. I don't really mind him making some money as long he's really helping people.
  25. Well, it's certainly true that our entire bodies regenerate cells every 7 years, the pancreas regenerate cells every 24 hours. But the thing to count here, is even the change in conditions in which they regenerate, detoxification of the body. Some scientists say that 3,500,002,007 (approximation ofcourse ) years of evolution made our bodies to be built to live 190 years, but most of us die of what mess we have made of the environment and slow poisoning. *points at the half-eaten-Pizza kept besides him* Waste accumalates, becomes poison. The "I QUIT!" theory isn't really right as dying 'naturally' or precisely aging is a rather gradual process (no wonder it takes 7 rounds of the Earth around the Sun for our body to regenerate all of it's cells), really, although it does obviously get escalated due to diseases and various other things. So right. XD It's pretty simple, parents have kids, doesn't mean they are regenerated. Parents die, kids live to procreate and die one day. Take it at the grass-root level and the answer is just around us. Now the question arises, why all of a sudden do the cells stop regenerating effectively? Environment, imagine your body when you were just milliseconds old and when you might be 70 ... imagine Dinosaurs living in concrete jungles. This is also very layman speaking as I don't want to get much technical plus I will make some scientific boners. I am just stating out the general reason as to why aging happens and people die. As we've progressed through centuries, we've made our life-spans shorter and shorter. The very same thing happens with cells, we make our bodies less and less habitable for our own cells. Honestly speaking, I have no knowledge about this but for now it makes complete sense.
