I don't exactly know what this error means, but this is my guess. It either sounds like a problem with the partition table, or the file system for your drive is screwed up. Can you view your files on the drive from your linux live cd? If the drive doesnt even show up or you cannot mount it, it means your partition table is screwed up, which means that a virus most likely caused the problem. If you see the drive but can't view it, there is a problem with the file system, which is also most likely caused by a virus. I do not think FIXBOOT or CHKDISK will work from Linux, especcally not on an unmountable drive. Your best bet is to get a copy of a Windows XP cd. FIXBOOT still might not fix your problem, CHKDISK is what I would use first. I hope it all goes well for you. Post back. NEVER download a CD off the internet. Microsoft gets pissed off when people do that.

This new idea, if enacted, will do nothing. There would be terrabytes of data accumlated each day, and that would be a waste of time and a hell of a lot of money. And how do they plan on searching through all of it? It would take forever, even with exceptionally fast computers. And as said above, sexual predators will find another way to find their pray. I hope this doesn't happen. I like my privacy.

If you mean IP address, then there is a simple enough way of blocking it. I recommend against blocking IP addresses, remember that many people can be behind one IP address and if you block that then you block all the people behind that IP. IP addresses also can change a lot, so it is not the most effective. If you are using usernames and passwords, why don't you just block the specific user name, that would be a much more effective way of banning the user. If you are interested in blocking certain IP addresses, I can post the code needed to do so.

I've seen win xp on a 555 mHZ computer before. Man did it go slow! I was amazed that it actually worked. It had 256 MB of RAM tho, so I guess that helped it out.

I think Halo 3 will have covenant civil war. Hopefully not another Halo. And it will have the Arc too. I can't wait till Halo 2 comes out for Windows. I don't have an Xbox or Xbox 360.

I'm not quite sure what to do, but maybe you should try shutting down everything, comptuers, router, and printer. It works for me whenever my router gets screwed up. If that doesnt work then it is something with Windows. You could try removing the printer and then reinstalling it to. Hope it works out well for you.

I wrote a report on amino acids in 7th grade. The amino acid structure is described by RNA in cells. I believe there are 23 amino acids that humans have. I wish I could find that report.

Even though you may believe this, I think you are very wrong. Being gay is not always a choice, it can be something you are born with. So what if another guy likes a guy? Its none of your business. Did you know that one in three homosexual teens kills themselves before they turn 18? While it may not totally be your fault, people like YOU who discriminate against them who make them feel worse. Do you know who Alexander the Great is, the man who conquered the whole known world in 340 BC? He was bisexual. While he might not be gay, he still slept with many more men than women. And he accomplished more in his life than you probably ever will, and he died around the age of 30. People need to be more accepting of others, and their choices. And that includes you. DIscriminating against people is just low and immature. Just like the elementary school kids who teased me for no good reason at all. People who discriminate against others are just as immature as them.

I've never been ripped off by a lunch lady like that, but sometimes they forget to charge me for everything on my tray! Its rare but I love it when that happens. It usually happens in the snack bar at my school, they have really good cookies, like better than the ones on Midwest Express, and they cost 75 cents each. They are so good.

I'm new to Linux and it won't recognize my DVD player. Its an external DVD player, and uses USB. I'm using the distro Knoppix, version 4.0. Plugging it in doesnt add an icon on my desktop, so I know it doesnt have anything to do with mounting it. My computer doesnt display that drive in my boot up options either, maybe I need a driver or something? Has anyone else had this problem?

Installing Linux would be a great idea. I recommend a distro called Knoppix, it is a Live CD meaning an image downloaded from the internet is burnt on a CD, and then you run Linux off of that when you start your computer. It supports all the major file systems, and you can burn CDs (and probably DVDs too) with it. Just Google Knoppix. I'll be glad to help you if you need it, just PM me.

This is starting to get scary almost. This is the third shooting at a school in one week. I think its amazing that the Amish can forgive a man who killed their innocent children. The world needs to be like more like that.

You are lucky you never actually got the point where you tried to actually kill yourself. I did when I was 12, and this year around the end of April. I am slowly getting better with help from my psycologist.

The best way to get something like that would to either write it yourself or get someone else to write it for you. Then you can make sure its exactly the way you want it to be.

My god I hate those call centres. It took me 60 minutes to figure out the apple guy couldn't answer my question because my support was over. What a waste of time.

I'm not quite sure why your computer is going so slow, but you can always Rollback your drivers you installed to the previous ones if you need too. Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware (or something close to it) > Click Device Manager and it will be in their somewhere.

You should also always make your Safety DIsks, or Emergency Disks or whatever they are called. They helped me out a lot when I tried to install Linux the first time.

I've played all of the SimCity games, and I think that all of them are great. SimCity 4 is a lot harder than its previous games, but after a while you get used to it and your can really make your cities thrive.

If your going to be using your computer for multimedia, you should get a 64-bit processor.
