  1. Well, it looks like I'm going to be leaving Trap 17. I don't think there's really much more that I can contribute around here, and I've picked up on one or two hints that I'm not really needed/wanted anymore. It was fun while it lasted, but after 360 posts and a month of holding the title of Asteroids champion, I think it's time to let it go.Thanks to all of you members for putting up with me, and for helping to make Trap 17 the best it can be.Regards,-Spectre (aka. Sauron).

    Qbasic

Hmm, I didn't know that they still taught this language at all. Try http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, or look on Microsoft's web site.
  3. It would require a lot of space, a lot of bandwidth, and a lot of maintenance. And that's after it's already been built, which would be beyond my programming skills in the first place. I think just doing what Zenchi suggested would be the best idea.
  4. They are just the set that come with Fantastico / the addon scripts library, which are features of cPanel.
  5. This is ridiculous. This post was started, and then contradicted by the same person. blackhawk, consider yourself warned.*Thread closed.
  6. Counter-Strike isn't a sport. No video game can be a sport - high-level gaming relies more on the brain than the actual body. I mean, you don't need to be strong or have trained since you could walk to use a keyboard, and it doesn't exactly require any physical excertion (although a couple of hours of intense gaming can leave you drained, but it's more mental strain than anything else). There are gaming tournaments and the like, but they still can't be classified as sports.
  7. Here is the final medal tally for these Olympic Games:[Country -- Gold -- Silver -- Bronze]1. U.S.A. -- 35 -- 39 -- 292. China -- 32 -- 17 -- 143. Russia -- 27 -- 27 -- 384. Australia -- 17 -- 16 -- 165. Japan -- 16 -- 9 -- 126. Germany -- 14 -- 16 -- 187. France -- 11 -- 9 -- 138. Italy -- 10 -- 11 -- 119. Korea -- 9 -- 12 -- 910. Great Britain -- 9 -- 9 -- 12................................24. New Zealand -- 3 -- 2 -- 0
  8. I would clone myself multiple times, and then send my clones off to do all the things I hate - ie. work - while I lounge on a beach in Hawaii or something. If you've seen the Arnold Schwarzanegger movie The Sixth Day, or something like that, they are all cloning each other left right and centre. It ends up getting a little strange.

    Password

The reason is that there was originally a password is because I had to quickly prevent non-hosted members from accessing the area. Password protecting it was the simplest and fast way to do it, and I was in a bit of a hurry. After that, I edited the permission masks so that only members in the HOSTED, Moderator, and Admin/Super Moderator groups can access this forum.
  10. See attachment.Hmm. Maybe a little sick/twisted.
  11. I don't play it aka. I don't play this game aka. this game is not played by me aka. this is not a game that I play.
  12. Hmm, if it could be controlled remotely accross the Internet, then I would imagine that for one, it would be pretty tight security, and heavily password-protected, and two, that there would be some kind of voice over-ride sort of thing. Or something like that, so that those who had physical access to could prevent it from doing things that it was remotely ordered too.
  13. Uh, no... it's still a partition. A disk is virtually unusable by the average user if it has not been partitioned at all. Even if a disk only has a single partition, it is still divided - you cannot partition every single byte of space on a disk, so a primary partition still leaves some over, hence making it a partition. And if you look under the definition that you provided it says: Anyway, it's better to have multiple disks rather than partitions where possible. Seperate partitions on the same disk that act as virtual drives still use the same physical disk, hence increasing its work load and still wearing on the heads.
  14. If you know that you are going to be unable to access a computer for a set amount of time, then post it in the Hosted Members Area so that it can be considered. If it seems that you are away all of the time, or if you are constantly making up excuses not to post, then it will be assumed that you are just trying to 'cheat the system' and your hosting will be terminated as per normal. And just remember that although I can have input into such decisions, the final result is up to the admin.
  15. There are different opinions of what classifies as spam, and I'm sure that various people have tried to put them forth here before. I've been having to go through the forums and delete a lot of posts recently, because they do not meet the Trap 17 posting requirements. And as I find this tiresome, annoying, and a waste of what could otherwise be productive time, I'm going to outline what classifies as spam here at Trap 17. Anything that doesn't seem to contribute to the community. Basically, that's what is outlined here. Anything that is very short. For example, 'lol', 'yeah', 'I agree', 'That's right', 'I think so', etc. Anything that doesn't make any sense. This seems to sometimes be a problem with people who's first language isn't English. Now, I don't mean to be discriminatory - but if it doesn't make sense, then it isn't going to contribute to the community whatsoever. Anything that is very repetitive. For example, if you start three topics which all pretty much say the same thing. Any topics that have already been posted. We don't need to vote for the same options twice, or here about the same events in the news again. Do not start topics that are already in existance. Anything else that is clearly not going to contribute anything to the community overall.Such posts will be deleted without question, or explanation. So if you notice some of your posts go missing, or your post count drops all of a sudden, then it means you've probobly been spamming. If you get caught spamming, then the chances are that you will not receive hosting from Trap 17 - so it really isn't worth it.
  16. What is Killswitch Engage? I've never heard of it.
  17. In cPanel, under 'Preinstalled Scripts'. Try Fantastico, or the Addon Scripts library.
  18. No, it would be impossible to add a Flash signature without using HTML (you need to embed a Flash animation; the img bbCode tags wouldn't be able to do it).My only suggestion is exporting your Flash animations as animated GIFs, and using them from there. Just make sure they don't get too big.
  19. I wasn't aware that Symantec had any parental-control products in their line.If those are your mom's wishes, then you'll just have to obide by them. "It's for your own good."
  20. You have to wait 24-72 hours for the DNS configuration to properly propagate. And then add it as either a parked domain, or an add-on domain in your cPanel.
