Doesn't Bandwidth Start Over At The First Of The.. The month?
Spectre replied to gamefreaksl's topic in Web Hosting Support
Bandwidth usage is how much bandwidth you have used, as the name so obviously suggests (or rather, explicitly states). Your current status means that you have used 0.00 MB out of 2,000. Or to put it another way, you have used absolutely no bandwidth, and have 2,000 MB left.*Thread closed. -
Happy Thanksgiving ^^ yay I wanted to say that :D
Spectre replied to spawn_syxx9's topic in General Discussion
Thanksgiving Day is an American tradition which commemorates a feast held in 1621 between the Pilgrims' and the native Americans. It's held on the fourth Thursday of every November. -

Hopping On The Band Wagon Another forum game
Spectre replied to Spectre's topic in General Discussion
And I said where it is a number, it is to be considered in it's word form - eg. '2' = 'two', hence the last letter is 'o'.Well, this certainly seems to be taking off here -
Ok, here's another stupid forum game that you can waste a few minutes of your life playing. It's been done on nearly every other forum in existance, so why not here as well. How it goes is that one member posts the name of a band or artist (they don't have to be current), and then the next member has to post the name of a band or artist who's first letter is the same as the last letter of the previous band. For example: Linkin Park Korn Nickelback And then the next band/artist name would have to begin with 'k'. And so on and so forth. Note that the word 'the' is not counted - so 'The White Stripes' would just be 'White Stripes', and 'The Hives' would just be 'Hives'. Where the name has numbers included, count them as their actual alphabetical form - so 20 is 'twenty', 7 is 'seven', 91 is 'ninety one' etc - so 50 Cent would be Fifty Cent, hence making the first letter 'f'. Note that the name cannot be shortened or in acronym form, unless that is ther common name - such as ACDC, XTC, etc. The name has to be what the band or artist is publicly known as - so Eminem is ok, Marshall Mathers isn't. They don't have to be a band/artist you like or anything, and they can be from any era (as long as they actually existed). Band/artist names cannot be repeated in any form. Where the band or artist is represented by a real name, it is first name then last name - eg. Britney Spears, not Spears Britney. The 'three-lines' rule does not apply to this thread. So to kick things off, we'll start with: Blink 182

Yes. You need to get a webserver, such as Apache, the PHP Engine, and the MySQL Database Engine. They are all free, but require a bit of customizing to install on your local system. You could also try IIS, which is included with Windows XP; but Apache is much, much better. If you are planning to host your website from your own machine, which you can easily do, then I would recommend you have a Windows NT-based operating system (NT/2000/XP/2003/etc). And you obviously need a relatively fast connection. If you want a pre-configured, ready-to-run package that has everything you need (as well as a lot of stuff you don't need), try XAMPP from ApacheFriends. Oh, and HTML doesn't require anything server-side. It is interpreted purely by the browser, so it depends on what the client is running.

For the last time deejames - it has nothing to do with the MySQL server. The PHP script you are trying to run has an error (or errors) in it. The MySQL server is working fine - if it wasn't, you wouldn't be able to view this forum.

This is not a bug, and it is not accidental. Some forums - including the SPAM forum, The Vent, and The Request Hosting forum amongst others - have been intentionally set to not increase a users post count when they post within them. This has been done because posts made within those forums are not contributing to Xisto, and as such, do not contribute to your post count.

What Has Bush Done To You? This is not a Bush rant. I promise.

I think you should re-read what I posted. I said something to the affect of that just because this forum isn't really moderated, doesn't mean that I won't think someone is an idiot for posting someting stupid. As you said yourself, you clearly do not know what a direct insult is. Had I said 'I think you are an immature idiot', it might be different. Further more, that was my second post - not my first. If you scroll up you might notice that my first post was to remind people that they can expect to be offended in this forum. My second post was after you had posted #11 (which appears to have been edited). It is beginning to sound like you are having something of a tantrum. Although I would appreciate it if you stuck around and made a bit of a difference to the redundant majority of posts submitted, it does become hard to have any form of respect for someone when they carry on like a small child. And on a last note, the rules of The Vent were modified after this thread was already in action. The item: Was added, and the rest remained as they were. -

Nowhere does it say that moderators or admins are not be challenged under any circumstances. It says that they are not to be degraded for doing there jobs - which is looking after Xisto. Expressing my opinion on the maturity level of no9t9, which was based on what he had posted prior to what I said, is not in any way for the better of Xisto; hence, you are free to challenge me on it if you wish.Seeing as I am an administrator, I can kick you out if I'm feeling pissed off at you. I don't like to play 'power games' - I got over that when I was about 5 - but fingers slip, buttons are clicked, and accounts are terminated.I am not taking anyones side on this matter, no9t9. I thought that at least some of what you said was retarded - that doesn't mean I agree with what spawn_syxx9 may have posted. As I originally said, I will reserve my opinions on this topic. And lastly, I never directly insulted you. I made it clear that you were on the line - that isn't an insult. This is getting very off-topic. If you want to persue this pointless argument further, then do it via PM, or start a new thread. -
How Many Friends Do You Have? Number of friends you have.
Spectre replied to karlo's topic in General Discussion
I think it would be very hard to maintain more than a few close friendships with people. I have three very close friends who I would trust with my wallet. And there are lots of people that I pretend to care about, who I smile and nod at while they're talking like I am interested, and then stick 'Kick Me' stickers on their foreheads when they pass out from lack of personality.Sweet, sweet society. -
Rate The Above User's Account Name. 0/10-10/10 radius.
Spectre replied to Fu Still Better's topic in General Discussion
0/10, because I have a very strong dislike for numbers within names.Anyone who gives me less than 10 will be banned. Nah, just kidding... you'll be killed. -
Please don't start polls like this in the future. If we - we being the administrators - see someone who we think would make a good moderator, then we will talk to them about it and see if they are interested. It isn't based on how popular or well known they are, but on how capable they are of taking care of this forum.

Relationship Help How to be a good boyfriend..
Spectre replied to googlue's topic in General Discussion
Zenchi, this is an Internet-based forum. Full of computer people. Most of whom are under the age of 15.You get where I'm going with this? -
I find that morally disturbing. Thousands of innocent lives were snatched away for no reason at all, and you think it's a good thing? If 9,172,500 Chinese people (on an approximate ratio) were killed in an act of terrorism, does that mean you would find it perfectly acceptable for an American to laugh and see the whole event as amusing?

You are treading on very, very thin ice, no9t9. -
This would probobly be better placed in the Introductions forum. And Oni_BlueEyes - you might want to be a bit more careful when giving out your full name (I'm going to assume it's real) on the Internet, in a place where absolutely anyone can view it.

no9t9, just because this forum is pretty 'easy' doesn't mean that I won't think you are an immature idiot, and consider the level of your intelligence along with the value of your opinion to be around the 0 mark somewhere. -
You can get hosting no matter where you are from, as long as your web site is in English [or has an English version].
