Well, first of all, I'm 12. <_<You at least HAVE an air conditioner to fix. I don't have one. Doesn't bother me much here. It was around maybe 32-35C (90-95F)here in Northwestern Ontario, hotter with the humidity (humidex levels were at least 39C[102F]).At least we went to Winnipeg, Manitoba for the day and got to stay in a shopping mall for a period of time [until returning to the vehicle]. I broght along a digital Thermometer clip, and left in the car, it read: 40.7C (105.2F). That was extremely hot!The hotel had air conditioning systems which were working to the max. That was a good thing. In the mall I saw a 3 in 1 air conditioning system. $600 CDN. That was expensive, but reasonable because it was portable. My dad seemed interested, but didn't buy it. :|Anyways, hope that your brother fixes the a/c soon. He sounds very irresponsible.

I'm not extremely good at CSS Menus and JavaScript. I think that if you just copy and paste the codes that you posted and nto change anything, it will work fine.If it works, don't change it. If you want to improve it, save a copy and then change it. If it fails, revert to the original copy. That will be much easier./(This is my first post)/

This is awesome. I've always wanted Virtual PC. Unfortunately I can't use it. I have Windowx XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2. It is not allowed to run it <_<Oh well, guess I'll just continue without it.

Recover Hosting Credit delete hosting account
FirefoxRocks replied to vietonline's topic in Web Hosting Support
I don't think you are recover credits when cancelling your account. If you have this kind of problem, download something like AceFTP, FilaZilla or SmartFTP to delete the forum folder. For example, my phpBB2 is installed on the folder phpbb2. I go into http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ And then I hit the phpbb2 folder and press delete. This is done using FireFTP and AceFTP, instructions may differ a little for other FTP programs. Yeah, consider doing this before deleting the account. -
Which Of The 2 Designs Would You Prefer?
FirefoxRocks replied to guillaumeb's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I prefer the second one, same with the majority of the people. Both designs are quite readable. I don't really recommend doing the navigation bar in the middle of the page. The second one looks a little better though. -
I'm not interested in doign any testing of my programs. This bug sounds interesting. In 22 years, they'll have it fixed. I highly doubt we will be using these types in computers in year 2038 anyways.Y2K was way too exaggerated in the media. I mean, some people in my small town started stocking water and food. I didn't really believe it all, after all, I was only 7 years old.Year 2000 came, nothing strange happened. Power was still on, water still worked. Banks were working fine.I think that this problem might be more exaggerated but this will not be a big issue.

I use XHTML and CSS. I'm trying to learn JavaScript, the functions are way too hard, gotta refer to the W3Schools site frequently and I dont' really understand much of it. If you are starting, learn proper XHTML and CSS. Then move onto JavaScript and VBScript, and then PHP, MySQL and that fancy stuff. I have NO experience whatsoever with PHP, MySQL, AJAX, etc, etc. I know XML, a little XPath and a little XSLT/XSL. You might want to check out W3Schools and http://www.ssh101.com/. Those are really easy to learn from. Hope this helps!

Okay. I have uploaded the file and...1) Upload files using AceFTP.2) Logged into cPanel.3) Found File Manager.4) Navigated to tar file.5) Clicked on tar file: Options came up but no unzip command there.Hmm...am I doing something wrong?
-
How do I unzip TAR files on the server? Is there a specific program that does this?I don't want to upload the little "module" packages one by one to the server because that will consume more bandwidth. If there is a program that does this and it is freeware, please tell me where to get it and what it generally does.I use ZipGenius 6 to open most of my compressed files, including TAR files. If there is a better way to do this, tell me how to.Thanks

Um...I don't really know. It does make sense that you should be able to put both ads on the page. But why would you increase so many ads?I don't know about the effect of putting the ads on your page. What was the reason that you signed up for Adbrite anyways?I don't use Google AdSense because you get to earn money, I hate that.

Please tell me if the following situation(s) are allowed: 1> One person, multiple Xisto accounts, different content. 2> One person, multiple Xisto accounts, similar content. 3> People with same IP address, multiple Xisto accounts, similar content of each other. 4> People with same IP address, multiple Xisto accounts, different content. 5> People with different IP addresses, similar content. I'm a little confused about this topic. Will someone answer appropriately so I don't break the Terms and Conditions?

Firefox is faster. Internet Explorer can go this fast, but it will probably lose connection or etc.Fiddling with the registry is dangerous. You can damage your whole computer. I do not recommend this tip to everyone.By the way, I use both Firefox and Internet Explorer.Opera is the FASTEST browser, I use that too.
-
I usually don't fiddle with the Registry unless absolutely necessary. I use Microsoft Windows Safety Live BETA and CCleaner to remove old keys from the Registry, otherwise I leave it UNTOUCHED.I found the correct folder. I know how to make a key. How do you set the default value of it?

Why would we want to use a proxy server? Is it better or faster to use one? Do some sites need a proxy server to access it? I use HTTP proxy = http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Anyone use that also?

What is a SOTW? Maybe you need to describe that in your post. The picture is very good and it does relate to winter. I'll give it a 9.7/10.You should give a link.

Website Help Please! I really need some help
FirefoxRocks replied to rldowling03's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I use a Cable Modem and Firefox and the page takes over 3 minutes to load. I recommend compressing the graphics. Instead of using JPEG graphics, try using some PNG images. Also, you HTML markup has many errors in it. Do you want me to correct your HTML markup for you?. Tables can be centered by adding the following piece of code: Add other CSS formatting in there as well. You can search for Free Interactive Polls and stuff on Google. I don't really know much about fonts and that area of design so I can't help you there. Maybe get a book from your library about Web Design and/or Desktop Publishing. That's all I can do so far. -
Asking Users To Confirm If They Wish To Leave The Page
FirefoxRocks replied to dyknight's topic in General Discussion
If you read the W3Schools page, they do say that JavaScript is the scripting language on the Internet. Opera and some extensions on the Firefox browser save form fields so they don't get cleared (well on some websites). That won't be a problem for those users. It is a good addition for IE visitors to your site. -
I just downloaded Windows Genuine Advantage a few days ago. No spyware found on my system.Hmm...is Windows XP really a piracy threat? I don't really think so. Microsoft Office is much more of a piracy threat than Windows XP, if at all.Without Windows Genuine Advantage, a lot of things cannot be downloaded.

The name doesn't have to be related to my site. I am accepting abstract ideas. And yes, I will make a logo once a name has been chosen.Immense popularity, well, I want some name that is EASY TO REMEMBER.eBay, Google, Yahoo! are quite popular. Their names are cute and catchy. I don't want something over 7 letters long.

We do not support breaking other sites Terms of Service or Terms and Conditions. Automatic programs/software that will have an additional benefit to any user on Neopets is not allowed at all.No such software will work anyways, even if it is NOT a virus and/or spyware. This post has been reported to a Xisto moderator. This software has been reported illegal on TurboUpload. Please do not post such content on Xisto again. Thank you.

That's it! I need a name that is: - Sounds sort of funny like Google - Sounds happy like Yahoo - Easy to remember - Short and catchy - Preferably contains a double letter - Cannot be close to a specific topic like gaming, arts, etc. I like the name "Yippee!" and I have chosen that one as a possibility. Please come up with more ideas.
