Even if the cease fire is being broken though atleast it has been made by the UN which is more than in iraq. As much as a cease fire wouldnt do much i think an ultimatum for the UK and USA to leave iraq and withdraw their troups would be a good sign, the radicals probably wouldnt abide by a ceasefire anyway but if theres no soliders for them to shoot at it has the same, possibly a better effect. lmao what a name! Only bush could think of that. Im guyessing that iran wont be the last country to go under "investigation" there. I never knew of this office untill now, seems rather interesting though. To me it seems that bush and blair have their hearts set on world domination. they seem to be targetting countries which they think are weaker than others such as afghanistan, iraq, iran... and once they have them under their belts who knows where they'll look. Either that or bush has some mental disorder (litereally! not just having a dig at the guy!) Hes obviously not very clever, and his reasons for wars are just stupid. What would like to know is how many more innocent people in the USA and the UK and also in iraq have to die before bush and blair pull out. I've heard of acceptable losses in wars but this is ridiculous. And as soon as they do pull out i belive that the terrorists will stop attacking us. Yeh i thought that when i heard it on the news, didnt know the details of the bombs they were going to use but death on an unimaginable scale, they already did that in 9/11 and as much as a few planes of people is a lot of people to die its not unimaginable, i agree it seems like propaganda. Especially if, as you say, the bombs wouldnt have even worked in the first place. But then when things like this are going on you cant really trust the news because it only tells us what the governments wants us to hear most of the time. I think the only real information comes from sources the government doesnt control like the internet but then you cant always trust it. I never heard about the london bomber's statement, but now i have heard of it it strengthens my belief that there will be an attack during 2012. The july attacks were too small and localized to be a full attack. They hit a few trains and a bus and not many people died. If it was a full attack there wouldve been gas involved as it was on the underground. And the bombs wouldve been much bigger. Unless the war is over a bigger attack will come im sure of it. At the next election for both the USA and the UK with any luck bush and blair will be out.

Hi all, Mods: Not sure where to post this but this seemed suitable so move if its not supposed to be here! everyone else: Ive just added a place where authors of poems ahort stories and songs and also graphics creators can share their work and get it rated by other people. So if you have the time pop over and register, i currently have a grand total of.....1 member, and that is me! haha! But i only just set it up so feel free to join! the Url is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I wanted to start up a a place similar to the GFX and poetry forums here where people with talent and creative minds can express themselves and get decent feedback on thier work. Its part of my plan to revamp my website, im looking for a nice colour scheme for the main part of my site (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) feel free to suggest one! Colours is where i fall down, i get a scheme and like it for a few minutes then decide i hate it and change it! but check it out if you get a chance and please help with my BORING grey colour scheme! I want something jazzy but not in your face if that makes sense and i want it to be easy to navigate of course and preferable using colours not images as backgrounds. Thanx!

Securing A Php Script Proccessing Input I need help and advice
shadowx replied to shadowx's topic in Programming
Ahh thanks some very good functions ill definately use there! I also stumbled accross a site im reading at the moment and thought id share it with you all, heres the link http://phpsec.org/ its a site dedicated to php security and is very usefull! Thanks for the functions ill check them out properly very soon! -
I think what bkag means is a form that does the same as the webhosting application form, you can see that by looking in the application forum. Basically it is a form like i have created but instead of creating an ouput like it does at the moment it should redirect the user to the forum and to a page where a new topic is being made. The php should automatically create the topic title as the track location and then the message body will be the rest of the information entered on the form. then all the user has to do is double check everything and click on the button to post the topic. Correct me if im wrong bkag!I havent foubd a way of doing this, i tries using post variables but it didnt work, there might be an addon that you can install to do it for you though.

I can modify the design easily and sort that out for you. But i dont know how to do that, i know what you mean but not how to do it. Maybe an admin here will know as its the same proccess as used in the application for hosting. Admins? Ill just go and update the script and edit this post to let you know when, shouldnt be long ***EDIT*** Swapped things around and now have the title as the town the track is located in. While we wait for someone who does know about automatically creating a post from this information ive downloaded a phbb forum which i belive is what you are using, correct me im wrong. And im going to mess about with my version on my local machine and see if i can find a way to do this, i have a few ideas of how to send the information to the post new topic page. the url is the same: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

thanks for the backup! i thought i was being beaten into a corner! I do appologise for not knowing about the long history as i wasnt around and history was never my strong point and it always foccused on the world wars. But like i said and gaea also said blair and bush are stirring everything, im sure without them the 9/11 attacks probably wouldnt have happened and london wouldnt have got bombed, and im almost sure that at the 2012 olympics here there will be more attempts. Disrupting the games and spreading fear about traveling to the UK similar to what has happened with traveling to the USA. And the fact that CIA trained these groups really does make me laugh, it reminds me of how the english and possible the USA invented concentration camps which hitler then used against us and anyone else he didnt like. The USA and recently the UK have a terrible habbit of sticking their noses where they dont belong. I actually think that the nuclear fears over iran were just a cover up to go and attack yet another eastern country, like the magical weapons of mass destruction that somehow managed to disapear the moment bush stepped into the country...strange that is! Yup We stop killing they loose numbers, hopefully! Its just a vicous cycle of us attacking them and them getting more numbers attacking us so we attack them...etc... And the attitudes of blair and bush only serve to make things worse "We dont negotiate with terrorists" err why not? All you have to do is talk to them, you dont need to give them millions or anything atall. Talk to them and stop the war! Are they stupid? Were fighting a loosing battle, i know that the UK and USA are powerfull but not as powerfull as the whole eastern world as well as all the muslims etc that live in the western world also. If Blair and Bush decided to see the reasons why the terrorists attack then maybe they could solve those issues such as getting out of their country, that would be a good start! But of course blair and bush are far too powerful and god-like to actually talk to someone when they could just bomb them instead! no war every ends because all the enemy is dead, the wars end because the leaders decide to end it. It makes me wonder how the UN can enforce a cease fire on the lebanon war but yet allow the UK and USA to repeatedly kill civilians and invade countries...It makes me wonder just how corrupt the systems could be. I think the solution is for the UK and USA to hold talks with the extremist groups, not in person but over the phone, video conferencing etc and sort this out! Otherwise its going to escalate and one side is going to get real mad and drop a nuke or a dirty bomb and from then on were all doomed to watch a nuclear war, then we're all dead.

Securing A Php Script Proccessing Input I need help and advice
shadowx replied to shadowx's topic in Programming
I think ill definately use the striptags() as it will save me a lot of manual stripping (of tags!) using string replace. Thanks for that. And its true about IP's, one major pain in the neck, some ISP's give their clients different IP's every time they log on which is annoying. I blocked my college from accessing the site and that IP address doesnt change because they have a T1 or similar connection and its always on so as far as i know its got a static IP.I could of course check the guestbook often but im lazy and i figure computers are here to do my work for me! -
Hi-dee-hi!All has been said about the community here, its a great place to have a genereal chat or debate and an even better place to learn anything about websites, the internet, search engines and graphics and just about everythin in between. If you write your own rap/song lyrics etc.. you can post them in the creativity forum. Good place to get a lot of feedback and suppotive criticism to help you improve and such! Are you here for the hosting aswell? or just a place to chat?

Securing A Php Script Proccessing Input I need help and advice
shadowx posted a topic in Programming
Hi everyoneI like to experiment with php, been doing so for about a year but im not clued up on security yet, i can use str_replace() to take out parts of strings i dont want like html and JS code inserted by users, and i know how to use stripslashes to take out slashes from input strings but this doesnt seem to be lock-tight security to me. There has to be something more to protect my scripts against malicious users.I belive its possible to use the "or_die()" function for connecting to an sql table to prevent the error messages being shown to users, as error messages can be a great help to a hacker. Anything else i can do to protect my databases? The main thing im worried about is having a guestbook on my pages, which i do have and it gets spammed alot because of stupid kids at my college but i remedied that, i just havent cleared up. So is there a way of preventing this spam? I could detect their ip and black it for about 5 minutes to prevent flooding of the guestbook and use my cpanel to permanently block ips if i have to. And also worried about people injecting code into the input box to screw the PHP, ive used the search and replace method to strip off html etc.. and its stored as a flat text file so html shouldnt work anyway. Does storing the guestbook content as a flat text document prevent users from inserting any type of code into my pages? I guessed it should do but im not too sure. I feel confident with everything else except security! -
How dare you insult the gimp?! I think the gimp can equal photoshop aslong as you have the right brushes, fonts and plugins installed, as for brushes try this: gimp brushes There are some awesome brushes and you can probably make some really good sigs out of them

The game is briliant, love everything about it, but theres one thing im more excited about, the release of 2007, the graphics made from the graphics engine of 2007 are...undescribable, id love to find a machine that could run that at full quality! With ut2004 i would like to see some of the classic maps recreated and also one infamous character from my internet cafe days, Super Cow man!!! haha!! that guy was great, imposible to headshot! So if you get bored feel free to resurrect super cow man!

The only thing with msn is i dont actually know how popular it is for users. Personally i dont touch msn because it annoys me so damn much with the incorrect URL redirection in IE. Probably personal preference with no backing but i much prefer google and i would list my site in google over MSN any day!

I agree that it has kind of passed its sell-by date now but it still has it uses for websites who have very little allocated space or where mp3's or exe's are banned by webhosts people can use online storage to share these files. Also good if you need to send something to someone accross the world but your email provider has a stupid attatchment limit, you can upload it then send them a link to the file in an email. But other than sending files long distances and sharing files that are banned or too big for emails and webhosting online storage has lost its uses. Especially now when everyone just wants money and has stupid bandwidth restrictions on the downloads.

I had a free hour so i decided to make this to see if it is basically what you are looking for. There is no colour scheme its just black text on a white background and the alignment and formatting is nil also but it should work perfectly. I just want to know if that is basically what you are after. Ive hosted it at my site and the URL is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Just put in some test details like the ones you would expect real users to input and see if you like what it gives as ouput. If you do then i might be able to spare some time to put some colours on it and make any changes you want and then you can use it on your site. If its no good then just let me know! Ill include the source code for anyone to improve on. Ill put it in hide tags so it doesnt take up too much room [hide=code] RCform.htm: <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE> RC Track Information Form </TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <!-- This is very plain and boring but you can easilly change the layout and colours, if you need help im sure I can give it and so can many other people at Xisto :-) --> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <form action=submit.php method=POST> <!-- submit.php can be changed to a different name if you need to. --> <table border=0 cellpadding=0 rows=35%> <!-- for alignment purposes--> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD>Name of Track:</td><td> <input type=text size=70 name=trackname align=center></td> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD><b><u> Track Address </u></b></TR></TD> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD>Street Address (First line only):</td><td> <input type=text size=100 name=streetaddr></td></tr> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD>Town:</td><TD> <input type=text size=40 name=town></td><tr> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD>Country:</td><td><input type=text size=40 name=country></td></tr> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD>Postal/ZIP Code:</td><TD><input type=text size=15 name=postal></td></tr> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD><BR><B><U>Contact Details</b></u></td></tr> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD>Track Email address:</td><td><input type=text size=40 name=email></td></tr> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD>Track Website:</td><td><input type=text size=40 name=website></td></tr> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD><B><U>Track Description</B></U></td></tr> <TR><TD><BR></td></tr> <TR><TD>Description:</td><TD><textarea rows=10 cols=60 name="description"></textarea></tr> </table> <BR><BR> <p align=center><input type=submit value="Submit"></form></p> ________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________ submit.php: <? // this page proccesses the information from the information form and gives an output which the user will see. //first get and set variables from POST $streetaddr = stripslashes($_POST['streetaddr']); $trackname = stripslashes($_POST['trackname']); $town = stripslashes($_POST['town']); $country = stripslashes($_POST['country']); $postal = stripslashes($_POST['postal']); $preemail = stripslashes($_POST['email']); $email= str_replace('@', '@', $preemail); //stops spambots finding email address and spamming the address $website = $_POST['website']; $description = $_POST['description']; // got variables so do something with them. make an output for the user as a html document //but first check if there is a website for this track if($website == NULL) { $web = "There is no official website for this track at the moment."; } else { $web="This track also has an official website located at:"; } //Now we can tell the user if the website exsists before we try to give them a URL $html = "<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>RC Track Information For $trackname</TITLE></HEAD> <BODY> <!-- again colours and layout can be easilly changed! --> <BR><p align=center><h4><U>Information for $trackname</h4></u></p> <BR> <B><U>Track location details</B></U> <BR> <p align=left> This track is located at $streetaddr in $town, $country, $postal.<BR><BR> <B><U>Track contact details</B></U><BR><BR> The track email address for primary contact is: $email<BR><BR> $web <a href=$website target=new_window>$website</a> <BR><BR> <B><U>Track description</B></U><BR><BR> <HR> <PRE> $description </PRE> <HR> </p> </body> </HTML> "; echo $html; ?> _________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________________ [/hide] I know the code isnt w3 standard and has no meta tags etc... but its only a skeleton to show the workings of the pages and it does work, atleast it does for me! the asthetics and finalities can be adjusted if Bkag wants the code. Please edit it and improve it and then post what you get here and then Bkag can get a variety of choices that hopefully will help! Bkag, if you do want this its free and open source so you can change it or just do anything with it really! and if you want i can edit it so that it will save the output as a HTML file on your website for others to see.

Linux - Why It Fails As A Desktop Operating System?
shadowx replied to red_dragon_here's topic in Operating Systems
As much as i do love linux i agree fully. Firstly i think they should try to release a few editions such as mandriva and redhat into shops. I know linux is pretty much totally free but i would be happy to buy linux on an easy install disk with a manual for ?20, they dont even need to charge that, only enough to cover their costs such as packing and delivery etc. That way many people will get to see linux and as they see only a few distros they will be more inclined to try hopefully then progress onto lesser known distros. I cant speak about backward compatibility scince i have only tried knoppix live and mandriva and used differnet software on each! But i take your word for it. Although Windows tends to do that to try and keep the market moving. If everyone decided they only wanted xp then MS would run dry so by making things like aero only avaliable in Vista many many people will upgrade to vista. So i think both linux and MS have the same issues there and i guess macs are no different! And all i can do is laugh about the installation of hardware and software, it is a NIGHTMARE! it took me a week to find a video card driver then i tried to install it for 2 days and gave up leacing my widescreen displaying normal width resolution. It seemed impossible. I think the main thing here is that linux is muxh more suited to a fully networked environment and excels as a server platform. And servers are normally controlled by technicians and so the user friendliness isnt so important. Although i found mandriva to be have a very good GUI the user friendliness was zilch when it came to software, although my usb flash drive worked perfectly so did my usb mouse, both without installing additional drivers. Maybe if some hardcore linux coders programmed some automated installers it would help the masses to adopt it. Which can only be good! If i could code in linux id give it a go but using linux is hard enough let alone coding it! but i still think linux is great once its setup correctly Though i havent used it in a very long time! Once a support center find out youve got linux aswell as windows and you have a problem its instantly linux' fault and all you hear is "uninstall linux and phone me back". Which could be another pitfal, the support! Anyway im droning on so ill make my way out now! -
Hi, Do you mean you want a form like the hosting application with different text boxes eg: And you want that to automatically be converted into something like: is that what you want?

Spyware / Virus Removal Help Needed
shadowx replied to zach101's topic in Security issues & Exploits
From what you said it seems that the malware (virusses etc...) has done one, or both of, two things: Infected more than one location or infected programs that are hard to scan or impossible to remove.First thing i would do is to boot into safe mode. Safe mode is just a mode of windows where nothing except for essential proccesses are started, normally only ones like the ones pointed out by mxweb. Thats the plan anyway! To do this restart the computer. Just after the BIOS screen, which is the first screen youll see keep tapping the F8 key it might bleep at you but just carry on, its just because it thinks the key is stuck. This should give you a few options of startup modes, things like "start normally, start in safe mode...etc..." You want to start in "safe Mode". Then let it boot up as usual, the display willprobably look absolutely crazy and very big but thats normal, dont panic! Now becuase only essential proccesses should be started if the malware has infected applications like text editors etc...the malware should not have been started. So go to task manager and veiw the proccesses and take not of them all. Now compare that with previous list posted here and see what is not on the new list. With any luck the malware is one of them. You can post the new list here if you want and see what we can see. The idea is that once we know what the malware is called we can easily find it with a simple search. While in safe mode you might find it usefull to do a virus scan using all the software you have! ONly one at a time though. Hopefully they can find and catch the malware while it isnt runing and just destroy/quarantine it. And the virus hasnt got a chance to replicate itself because its not running. This should catch some more of the things you foubd earlier, chances are that because the malware was running the anti virus deleted it but the malware just made a copy of itself and moved! It probably wont get them all because some viruses might still start in safe mode. But it should help to delete a good few more. And definately submit a hijackthis log to the experts, that will really help a hell of alot! Their report will probably contain every peice of malware and where it is and how to get rid of it! BUt menawhile try all the things people have said here! Ive had this problem and i learnt one thing. If the antivirus warns that it is a vital system process do not delete it!!!!! lol i learnt the very hard way! Leave it be and sort that one out abit later! If you dont have it already get avast antivirus home edition (its a free download) and do an on boot scan. This boots windows into a special mode similar to safe mode but even less things are started and avast will scan the HDD before anything gets a chance to startup and copy itself! But please beware about deleting anything, its much safer to quarantine it. That way you can get it back if you need to! -
That depends how much you are willing to trust microsoft security, they have a nasty of habit of not protecting peo0ple against new threats untill after theybe been attacked, i think it was the mydoom worm that spread accross the globe because of dodgey microsoft programming. So by all means use the MS security center but i would still advise you to download something like avast or spybot SD. They are free and its like having a second lock on your door, it wont do any harm and sometghing like avast will update itself without you knowing if thats what you want. Obviously you can change it but its very low mantainence! And while it will protect you alot by watching carefully what you download, malware (meaning the above mentioned virusses adware and spyware for anyone that isnt sure!) , particularly worms do not always need to be downloaded, if you connect your computer to a public network such as an internet cafe, school/college/uni etc...network you are at risk of worms infecting the computer. The windows security center will catch most of these things but no antivirus can catch them all which is why i have two installed! And adware can actually come on some, fully respected and legal software. Aslong as its in the license agreement and you agree to it they can have adware to bring you targeted ads!

Im of the opinion of my house is my law, if you break in i can do whatever the hell i like and theres nothing you can do about it. Where i live id say its a fairly rough area, ive been mugged and my house has been burgled so i belive if someone breaks in i have the right to kill them let alone zap them! All the police do is tell them never to do it again, put them up in prison for a year and then let them go and they do it again! It really annoys me that these people get away with it. There was a case over here in england where a farmer was robbed and pulled out a shotgun and shot the guys! I say good on him! But alas he was put in prison and i think the robbers got away! What the?! So definately not guilty, although technically you did do something wrong but the law needs to stop being so finite and the decision of guilty or not needs to be carfefully considered taking into account the whole story! That is the only argument for guilty, a murderer could easily invite people to his house, kill them, smash a window and claim they broke in. but still not guilty!

"war against oppression" you know what i mean, bush and blair telling them what to do even though its absolutely nothing to do with them. And ive no doubt that attacks did happen before bush and blair decided they wanted to rule the world but never on this scale. And i appologise for not knowing about the attacks scince the 70's because i was still an idea in my parents heads! Now that is funny, and i agree its absolute crap, even if there was a conspiracy and the government knew they wouldnt print it out and tell the world. About blowing yourself up: Do soldiers not put their lives on the line for their countries? and the kamikazees at pearl habour (i think it was pearl harbour, i might be wrong i never liked history.) The terrorists are simply willing to die for their country, and i agree it is rather stupid to kill yourself but its what they belive and ican understand why they belive this because their religion tells them to. I imagine if the pope told christians to kill themselves because god told them to, some very devout christians might do it. Its the same with muslims and any other religion. I think their attitudes are partly from the media and religion which they have, and this is the "fuel" for the terrorism fire, but i still belive that the wars started by blair and bush prove the spark which lights the fuel. The sooner those two are out of control the better the world will be in my opinion

cPanel Certificate alert message Has anyone else got it?
shadowx replied to hype's topic in Web Hosting Support
I get this too, its perfectly safe, i think its because the connection is for XXXX.trap17.com but the way the cpanel works is the connection is either redirected or passes through another server something about gamma or something, and that is where the problem is, because the browser thinks that the connection is being hijacked by the other server when its not!You can just click to accept permanently because its safe! -
Autosizer 1.61 automatically resizes any window specific
shadowx replied to vietonline's topic in Software
I dont think its needed, it could be handy for some people but i also wouldnt use it beacause most programs either have their own setting to maximise or minimise etc... everytime or (and most do) remember the last setting and eventually "learn" to open at a certain state (minimised, maximised etc.....) and i belive that Windows (the OS) has a setting for making programs open at a default state
