I started communication with people trough ICQ... then I stopped using it ofr a while, and although I have 50+ people on the list, only few of them remained active... Now, I actively use Yahoo, and MSN from time to time (but not as often as IRC, but that's not IM)

What Do You Use Your Computer For? it seems I am way behind...
Galahad replied to spawn_syxx9's topic in Software
Well, I started using computers back in 94 or 95, can't remember exactly... I started off playing games on Commodore 64. Then I got my hands on a book about BASIC programming language, and I figured, why don't I just make my own games. Later on, I realized I had absolutely NO talent for making games, just ideas But, I didn't give up programming, and now, I spend about 12 to 16 hours in front of a computer, at home or at work. I work as a programmer, and, well... You know that's time consuming :DThere isn't much new I can say I do with my computer:- work, work, work - listen to music- watching movies- chat/im with friends- surfing- maintaining my website- posting on forums- occasional game? :DThat about wraps it up, for now -
Can't help you with that, but I have some other problem with Photoshop 7... It sometimes gives me "Out of memory" error when I try to change to a generic windows font, like Tahoma, Arial, Verdana... and when shutting him down, it crashes in cooltype.dll...Re-installing doesn't fix this, but, if I unregister cooltype.dll, then delete it, start Photoshop, it reports the .dll as missing, and shuts down, then I return cooltype.dll, and register it, and start Photoshop, it works again... Sometimes this unregister/delete/start/register procedure must be repaeated several times... Anyone has any idea?@Florisjuh: Try to get the file in question form some friend, and to copy it over this one... Maybe it will work...

I use Nero 5.5.9.9, and it works flawlessly... I used only Nero before, so I can't say anything about some of the other cd recording software...

Here are my spec's: ... aaand... I think that's about it

I have GeForce4 MX 440 with 64Mb, but considering how much I play games it's quite enough

I'm in Serbia & Montenegro, and I still use dial-up. I hope that in march I'll switch to wireless, wich is by far the best of all the options offered. However, dial-up here sux big time, my USR 56k can't esablish connection, unless limited to 33.6k ! Now, you can imagine the speed of that. If the wind blows in the right direction, I get 4.2K/s download :DADSL is comming soon to my city, but as I heard, 32 people will share 1Mb link, and it will cost a hell. So, I'll just use flat rate 256k wireless, it costs abou 66 euros per month, and is more than enough for home use

And what if user has disabled cookies in his browser? Then it won't work. The vest way is to... well, there is actualy a best way, but... just append sessionid when calling a new scrpt: Header('Location: somepage.php?'.SID); Then in that file call session_start(); and use $_SESSION array to access session variables... That HAS to work

Why wouldn't it be possible? :DYou just need to know the structure, and how to parse RSS feed, and you've got youself RSS reader I don't actualy know how RSS works, but I believe it can be done... Just do a little research

I'm 23 years i 4 months old :DStarted messing around computers when I wsa 13 or so.. Aaaah, those were the days, my Commodore 64, and me :DI started off programming software, then I started php/mysql as a hobby... Now, I started working as a php/mysql programmer... It's not exactly like I wanted it to be, but it's the closest it gets

Windows Xp Has Failed Me... OEM disk problems...
Galahad replied to alapidus's topic in Hardware Workshop
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you erase partitions with fdisk, there is NO information left. Even OEM disk shouldn't make any trouble... Howeverm I can't put my life on it, but that's just a thought... -
No, not being sarcastic... -190 degrees celsius...Besides, the lower the temperature, lower the resistance... why would it be impossible? All you need is some liquid nitrogen, a compressor... and voila :DHowever, I would be more than sattisfied with 3.2HT processor

Just drop a Timer on a form, and set it's index to 0... then Load new timers, like this For i=1 to 10 Load Timer(i) Timer(i).interval = 100 Timer(i).enabled = trueNext iAnd you would have something like this Private Sub Timer(Index As Integer)Select Case IndexCase 0' code to execute for Timer(0)Case 1' code to execute for Timer(1)Case Else' other codeEnd SubI wrote it from the head, didn't try it, but I think it should work...

I actualy clocked the machine about 5 hours after I bought it and it's runing at that speed since... that's about... two years now... And most current thing... my system is up for 540h 5m 50s and it's WinXP Pro SP1... and believe me... apache/mysql are constantly on-off, on-off... UnrealIRCd the same... playing NFSU2, and other games... SETI@Home always running... I'm just trying to see how long the system will be stable Oh, yes... I'm runing Intel Celeron

The Crazy Frog... 'ding-ding-dididing' Thumbs UP? Thumbs DOWN?
Galahad replied to serverph's topic in Mobile Phones
OK, I believe I was one of the first people to hear this sound (not the video), a few years back, while I worked at a radio station. If you've seen the video, you know the author of the video doesn't know who made the sound. Now, I don't say I know the man, but a colegue of mine does know the guy that made the sound. He worked at another radio station in my country. He made it as a parody for the sound of Trabant (germany used to make this car, it's all plastic, has 2 cilinders, and.. well... it sounds almost as this sound )... Now, this used to be funny, but now it's just iritating how all of the sudden everybody is using this sound... I guess now the poor guy wouldn't admit he made it :DOh... btw... I give it thumbs up, just because of the idea -
Yes, always be on the lookout for free software, that requires you to "only" install this, or that... I hate ads, from the bottom of my heart... It seems to me it's all people to these days, thik of new ways to burry you with idiotic ads...

I clocked my comp, but only by 20%.. from 2.0 to 2.6 GHz... and believe it or not, I use box cooler, that shipped with the original 2.0 cpu Of course, the case stays open at all times, and two additional 80 mm fans are installed, one of them blowing on the heat sink, and one blowing under the hard drive... On 100% utilization, cpu temp doesn't go over 50 degrees Celsius...As for eXtreme clocking... ir rulez! I enjoyed watching a movie where this guy, from Tom's Hardware Guide, clocked P4 to 5.2GHz, and cooled it with liquid nitrogen and chipset was cooled with some sort of compressor... and the cpu temp was about -190 degrees Celsius :DI just love this kind of things, i just wish I knew mora about hardware, so I could do some of that eXtreme stuff...

Yeah, I got that message too... the only difference to whyme's post is that mysql (4.0.22-standard-log) has also failed...Had to happen eventualy still, the guys at Trap are doing a great job... We'll just have to relax a bit

I was born in Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ - Socijalistička Federativna Republika Jugoslavija or СФРЈ - Социјалистичка Федеративна Република Југославија), now yoy've got it in all versions , I lived in SRJ, Savezna Republika Jugoslavija and now I live in a country, federation actualy, that's called Srbija i Crna Gora, or Serbia and Montenegro...But I like to think of myself as Yugoslavian, not Serbian, because it sounds... I don't know hwo it sounds B)Life here is pretty messed up, meaning, everything works contrary to the entire world, aaaand..., that's about it B)Pozdrav za sve sunarodnike, biv?e i sada?nje

It's actualy not music it's half naked fat chick, with huge cleavage, that _thinks_ she can sing.

What Is Up With All Of The Web Browser Topics?
Galahad replied to Se?or Maniac's topic in General Discussion
I guess it's sort of brand discussion, that never ends...If you can have people liking Adidas over Nike, Intel over AMD, BMW over Mercedes, why can't you have people liking Firefox over IE? :PI myself use IE because I have no need to change it, and I'm not of those people who change things just because _someone_ said it's better than something else. IE does the job for me, and there's nothing anyone can do about it...Ooops... I'm going off-topic... I guess people who post those topics thing it's something of a brag?? Dunno... It is a stupid discussion, and probably, like most stupid things, will never come to end -
I use phpBB for some forums I administer, and I must say I prefer it over IPB, mainly because it's free, and open source... And we all know that open source is the best :PI am eagerly awaitinh new version of phpBB, wich should come out in the summer... It will be a mixure of IPB, phpBB, and some other forums, graphicaly, and functionaly. What is best about phpBB, is that you can add your own code, if you wish to change something, whereas IPB comes encrypted, so, it's not as flexible... At least, in my opinion...

I?m not much of a designer or artist, but I get around :PI use Photoshop 7.0 for all my graphix, but sometimes, nothing can beat MS Paint I can?t actualy make anything good in Photoshop, but I get around when it comes to processing photographs, or maybe some light alteration, if you know what I mean :DAnd for icons (and believe me, I have NO talent whatsoever), I use a little piece of software that I made myself (ripped it from Microsoft and enhanced it a bit )That's my carrier as an artist

Believe it or not, I actualy have about 4 passwords for all the things that require a password? I have a simple one for basic stuff, and they increase in complexity?Ofcourse, combination of letters and numbers, number/letter substitution, just add complexness to the toughest one. Plus, noone knows all the elements in the complex one , so nobody can connect the stuff in the password with me ... I guess it?s pretty safe system, and besides?. I can keep them all in my head, wich is the most secret place of all

Highest speed achieved is on Intel Pentium 4, and that is 5255 MHz, FSB running at 309 MHz, system bus at 1237 MHz, and memory clock at 206 MHz And the greatest part is CPU heat sink temperature was -196 degrees Celsius Chipset was cooled with a compressor, and CPU with liquid nitrogen... You can find a sample movie, along with mani others, on this site http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Hardware Guide There are also movies showing what happens when you remove cooler from the CPU, how to build water-cooled system, and others Very good site, especialy for us freaks
