  1. I agree with some people here Notepad is the ultimate free html editor But, I use UltraEdit, for html, php, and most of my coding. It's great!
  2. I'd also go for phpBB... Dunno why, but I like it more than IPB. But then again, I'm one of those people who don't like everything served, I like to play around, setting things up
  3. I myself am a programmer, and know how people say it is overpriced. Well, most of it is overpriced, but when you think of amount of people working on some project, it is understandable right? Anyway, most of my software, hell, all of it is pirated, but only due to a reason I can't afford to buy it. The moment I have money I will buy legal versions. For example, Win98SE costs 107 euros. Total income in my family is about 400 - 450 euros. For bills, we spend around 200 euros, so, I can't really spend 100 euros for software now can I?So, the moment I can afford something, I will go and buy a legal version, and one by one, all my software will be legal. But, until then, I'll have to keep using pirated software, or just switch to Linux (wich I'm thinking of already )
  4. Well, with that, I think more of us will be transfering on Linux I guess... Or we'll have outdated software
  5. I have 2 HDD's, 80 and 40 gigs1st HDDC: 20G : System, and programsD: 60G (56.3G actually) : Music, some movies, and projects2nd HDDE: 40G (37.2G... full of movies, I might add )
  6. Well... let's say you haven't missed anything
  7. I personaly don't believe in god, and refuse to believe that someone up there is controling my life. I mean, if god really exists, would he allow all these wars and s* to happen around the world? If god loves us as his children, why would he make us suffer like this? This is the sole reason I strongly refuse to believe in god, and if I'm wrong... well, I'll suffer the consequences...
  8. AV Processor? Sounds improbable, but... Maybe they are working on something like that... But still sounds little... I don't know how it sounds, but I doubt that AV industry will allow it that easily
  9. Here in YU, SMS & Text messages are the same thing, they cost 3.5 csd on my network. But... Perhaps Text messages are sent via GPRS (my Siemens MC60 has the option to send SMS via GPRS)... I personaly don't use this feature, as it costs hell of a lot more then regular SMS...I suggest you call customer service, and ask them about it, as we can only guess what is the difference, if tere is any...P.S.SMS costs 1 pound? Price for sending SMS here is 0.03 pounds! One minute of phone conversation costs 0.13 pounds... Wow, is England expensive, or what?
  10. Ok, let's get things back to track... Talking about browsers...I tried Firefox, and I dont' like it... It's opening pages way to slow for my taste, and messes up some pages, that are made in compliance with HTML 4.01 standard, or at least W3C Validator says so...Besides, everyone speaks of security flaws, and this and that... But FIrefox is a new browser, and IE has been around for a while. You think someone won't find something wrong with Firefox? Just give them time, and you'll see.I am not replacing my IE, 'cause it works the best for me, and I've never had any problems with it. I uninstalled MS Java VM, installed Suns, and now, it works even better. And I know, Firefox won't even execute some Java counters.I recently had an opportunity to try out some webcam applet my friend made, and it worked fine in IE, Netscape and Opera, but in Firefox, it just didn't start, so...If that is standard, I don't like it one bit. So there, that's my oppinion on Firefox...
  11. Maxtor 40G w/ 2M cache + Maxtor 80G w/ 8M cacheAlmost full...
  12. Happy Bday man!Best wishes to you, and as hatebreed said, have a great time, get drunk, get laid
  13. My vote also goes for USB... And the fact that I don't have frewire has nothing to do with it
  14. Prices is SCG are about... well, I don't actualy know what prices look like around, but here are some samples:Intel? P4 - 3,0E GHz HT FSB800MHz, 1MB Socket LGA 775 BOX = 180?CPU AMD Athlon-XP Barton 2600+ Socket A BOX = 96?DDR400 - 512MB PC3200 Kingston CL 2.5 = 91?80GB "Maxtor" DiamondMaxPlus9 ATA133 8MB Cache 7200rpm = 56?and so on... How about Cro? We anywhere close with prices?
  15. Mac is a good machine, no, not good, excellent machine... It's just way too expensive for me to buy it. I've seen Mac processor runing on 850MHz, beat one Intel and one AMD, running at 2.0GHz... And Max is great for multimedia...Anyway, since we are talking about which is the best, I would go for custom built PC... That way, you have control over what you're puting in, and everything... And is generaly cheaper than buying brand name comp, where you do pay extra just fr the name. One thing I actualy read somewhere about Compaq, and other brand names, is that they put in their own power supplies, change the pinout on the motherboard, and if your power supply fails, you must buy power supply from them, because any other will fry your MB, 'cause they changed pinouts... Talking about customer care...
  16. It's not actualy homemade movie... There's a guy in Germany I think, who is a freak for comps. He makes all sorts of stuff; you probably all heard of his 5GHz project, with liquid nitrogen cooling... This is the address: http://www.tomshardware.com/ And comps used in his test were: - Intel P4/2000, i850 chipset - PIII/1000, i815EP chipset - AMD Athlon 1400, VIA KT133A chipset - AMD Palomino 1200, VIA KT266 chipset Actualy, AMD had a problem with thermal diode, so MB's didn't have enough time to shutdown. But, they fixed it now if I'm not mistaken. Intel still has that technology built in, and I think it's great, and AMD should put it in their processors as well... And as for technology kicking in when not necessary, I don't think it ever happened. At least, not on my machine However, this is a dead debate, like a debate between BMW fans, and Mercedes fans I say BMW is better, some of you will probably say Mercedes is better, and so on... I personaly don't like AMD, and there is no way I'm going to put one in my comp. But then, it's just my opinion...
  17. Don't like AMD, ever since it burned itself, and took MB with it... I don't mind paying few euros extra, so I don't have to think whether cooling fan will fail when I'm not home, or something like that...Intel is an old company, where AMD is relatively new in all this... So, I choose Intel over AMD, anytime
  18. It sounds awfully like CWS hijack... Visit http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and download CWShredder, to make sure...
  19. I'm using ICQ, MSN, YIM, and am often on local IRC server...I like ICQ and Yahoo he best, dunno why... I started usieng ICQ when it first got out, and been using it since... And Yahoo has some cool stuff, like notify me of new email, and stuff...
  20. I'm just looking at some of the things I managed to save over the years I used computer (10 years to be precise )...4 HDD's 1 CPU and 1 MB fried4 CD-ROM'sfew memory modules (small ones, ~4Megs)1 graphix card1 sound card1 monitorfew power suppliescounntless 3.5" floppy drives3 mouses, 3 keyboards (I smashed one keyboard against the wall )and 1 Commodore 64 with disk drive B)I think that about covers it... Components that are available to us in Yugoslavia, are of lower class, and tend to break more often, then components available in rest of Europe...
  21. @bexa:Wow... that's... wow :)I wish I could make something like that... even on paper :DI actualy finished technical school, and can't seem to draw anything other than technical drawings :D B)Truly a work of a godess
  22. I'm interested how many, and what, PC components died, or ceased working on your systems. Include ALL hardware you had to replace, ever since you started using comps. Don't include replaced components that still worked... I'm still making my own list
  23. Shoot me if I know why it crashed. I actualy didn't mess with anything, I didn't know that much about hardware at that time. It was summer, it was extremely hot, I guess AMD's thermal diode failed, and just burned, dunno... But, that one time was enough for me...
  24. What is it about you that separates you from the people around you? Well, probably my trying to be open minded about everything, 'cause, around here, people are way too conservative. I always want to hear both sides of the story, and then make my own decision, based on my own toughts, not others. What makes it worth getting up in the morning? Well, wouldn't know about that... Guess, learning about something, dunno... What is the compliment you would really love to hear? I love all sorts of compliments Seriousely, I don't mind hearing compliments (who does?), nor complaints, and I don't mind beeing criticised... If anything, criticism only makes me stronger
  25. Perhaps I can throw some light on the mistery :)I live about 80km north-west from the place in question B)Ljiljana was just answering a question, where she was from, in our native language, Serbian. So, it's not Swedish, Polish, or Japaneese :DIz -> From, Beograd -> Belgrade, so, 'From Belgrade' would be full translation of the sentence..And you all know that Belgrade is the capital of Yugoslavia, right? Well, you're wrong... Yugoslavia is no more, now it's called Serbia & Montenegro :P Isn't politics great
