In Adobe you can choose the TEXT SELECTION tool which allows you to copy text or even box certain text that you want. But this also depends on the person who created the PDF. The person who created the PDF has the option of LOCKING the text so that it cannot be copied out through cutting and pasting.

i wouldn't worry about defragmented files. it only really hurts your computer's speed if it is badly fragmented. If you think it is the movies, then try making a copy of them and deleting the original file. That will put the files in a new location and you may then be able to defrag your hard drive.

Usually infomercial stuff is relatively cheap and seems like an amazing product and an amazing deal. There was thing one I saw selling this knife (for cooking) that could cut through anything. And I am talking about generalizations. Basically, chinese people are statistically more fearful of speaking in public. It could be a result of the culture or whatever but this is true. Obviously I am talking about generalizations and there will ALWAYS be exceptions. What I say is that if you took 1000 chinese and 1000 caucasions and told them to do public speaking... the chinese bunch would have more people who won't do it. Yes, and when it comes to chinese, I find the DEGREE in which they are paranoid is higher than for other races/groups. Again, (read above) there will ALWAYS be exceptions but the truth of the matter is that stereotypes and generalizations come from somewhere. It doesn't matter that it is a product of their circumstance or whatever, I am not talking about that. Look at crime in America, I'll bet that if you took a look at the prison population, you would find that the largest group is black. Statistically speaking this is true. So the generalization is born. Black people commit the most crimes. It doesn't matter that they may be part of the poorest group of people in the USA (which is another generalization). Also, because black people are among the poorer groups, they do not have as much opportunity to get higher education... so another generalization is born.. Black people are dumber. Please note above: this is not an attack on black people OR chinese people. Just trying to make a point about generalizations. Generalizations start from statistical fact. It really doesn't matter what the reasons are. Also I am not trying to say that generalizing people is the RIGHT thing to do. I'm just saying that it exists and in the case of the original post... IN GENERAL, chinese people are more fearful of public speaking and are more paranoid.

First, the reason why I am asking for fast reply is BECAUSE I don't expect the free server to be lightning fast. With fast reply, it is not adding to the server load and makes the user experience on the board better. It is a WIN-WIN situation. Why would you have a problem with this?Second, why is it wrong to expect things even from a free server? Why can't I suggest an improvement to the free service? Cause it is free, it cannot be improved or shouldn't be improved? If you are content with mediocrity, that is your choice. I don't have ANY real friends becuase I am an *BLEEP*. People only talk to me or call me when they need something. I tell them to *BLEEP* off since they are not my friends and why should i do any favors for them if they only call me when they need something? And then there are internet friends... people who try to add you to MSN and stuff. I really hate that.. after people add me, I just block them. My whole MSN list is blocked. i don't know about all asians but i know that chinese people in particular are, on average, less self confident, more self conscious, and have low self esteem. It seems like they are scared to talk louder for fear of critisism and they would rather die than do public speaking. chinese people seem to be the most paranoid bunch of people I have ever met. I find that they always think someone is out to get them and has something against chinese. Everything is a racial issue to them. But, they are always to self concious or scared to say it out load. Instead they will talk behind your back and act all big when talking about it after the fact with their friends.

Why is it that not all threads have fast reply? I find this a lot better than ADD REPLY because it is faster (hence the name). I hate having to wait for the stupid ADD reply page to load. The best way is to simply ignore requests for information from Xisto through email.In fact, there is no reason why the admin would need to ask you for passwords, logins, etc. Admin will NEVER need you to give your information. The admin of the board has the power to change anything regarding your account... why would he need yo ask you for information?

IF they actually tried to prosecute or sue, it would not be worth their time or money.First, they would have to find out WHO the REAL person is. They'd have to dig through IP logs and then contact the ISP to release confidential information. So, they would probably need a warrant or something similar to obtain the information. NOT an easy task. Then there are the lawyers...

minesweeper isn't just luck and guessing. you can analyze where the mines are and mark them. Only about 30% of the time you have to guess and that is usually for the VERY last mine.The game is addictive but to "win" is not simply to clear the board. That is just too damn easy. For REAL minesweeper professionals, you need a GOOD TIME. My personal record for Expert level on minesweeper is 96 seconds. I routinely clear the minefeild in under 120 seconds.I have since stopped playing minesweeper... I got good at it when it was the only game at woork and I ended up playing that about 3 hours a day since I had nothing to do.

there are some ads that are worth MORE than $50 a click. One keyword relates to medical lawsuits and is was worth something around $80 a click. The thing with those ads is that they are not displayed ALL the time. For higher paying ads, those might only be displayed a few times a day. So they may not get clicked a lot. Also, Google implemented a thing called smart pricing which reduces the payout to the publisher if the click did not convert. For example, they may measure how long a visitor stays on the site after they clicked to it. Those high paying clicks are totally real becuase I am opened an ADWORDS account just to check to see what the bid prices were for some keywords I am intersted in. Also, there are MANY people out there creating medical type websites JUST because they are such high paying keywords.

you can just use the style attributes for the table to specify the size. that way the table will not adjust.example<table style="width:200px"><tr><td style="width:100px"></td><td style="width:100px"></td></tr></table>the px after the number is pixels. there are different ones but I find pixels is the easiest to work with. The other one I use (but not as often) is %.in this example, you will have a table that is 200 pixels wide with 2 columns that are 100px wide each.By the way... I hate horizontal scroll bars. the ISP probably would block webpages too. they probably block based on IP address and I'll bet there has been a few spammers that have gone through Xisto. (remember the paypal scam that was caught on Xisto?)

i am also able to see it (north america). i think the problem is also what casanova suggests. it is a problem on your friends end. It could either be a local computer problem (firewall, parental control, etc.) or it could be an ISP problem where they block certain IP addresses or even countries. I believe Xisto servers are located in India and, in general, India is not a welcome place for internet traffic. I know in North America, there are always conditions that say they will not accept stuff from India because of the fraud from there. It's also a big deal in China too. Fraud, i mean. but, before people start spouting off about me being racist or whatever.. It is just the facts. like 1/3 of fraudulant products come from China alone.

windows xp or windows 2000 pro, etc. comes with Microsoft Internet Information Server. This is an alternative to apache which is already included with your OS. It is also easier to setup (because it isn't as configurable). It all depends on what you are trying to do.

there is a problem with your statement. You think you don't have to worry because your anti virus catches all the viruses. But, this is just what you SEE. Your antivirus program only catches what it knows and it isn't going to tell you when it couldn't catch the virus. You COULD potentially have tons of viruses in your computer that your anti virus didnt catch. Antivirus is not a perfect solution. The best solution is a combination of awareness, software protection (antivirus, firewalls, etc.), and backups.

i hate it when people always talk about the stupid w3c "standard" as if it were the HTML/CSS bible. I have news for you people.. it's *BLEEP*. You can program to the stupid w3c "standard" all you like but different browsers STILL display things differently. Even so called "standard" browsers like opera and firefox don't display things exactly the same. I for one am going to design so that my audience will see the page I intended them to see. Since my audience is 90% IE and 6% Firefox.. that is what I will design to. I don't care if it looks a little funny in Opera, or Konquerer cause nobody uses those to goto my page. Opera 0.5% and Konquerer 0% (it's zero but there are some hits). Right now, my page displays perfectly in IE. It has VERY minor differences in Firefox, Netscape and Mozilla (stuff you wouldn't notice unless I told you it was different). Opera looks OK but has obvious problems.. and I didn't even try on other no name browsers like Safari and Konquerer. Right now, I have about 98-99% of my visitors... that's all I care about. if it meets the standards great.. if it doesn't.. who cares.
