Basically, the terrorist (Bin Laden) was successful and they are winning.1) he was never captured and we hear nothing about any attempt to do so. The focus has all been on Iraq.2) more terrorists have been recruited because of Bush's policies on terroism3) non-terrorists (other citizens of the world) have a VERY negative image of americans4) americans are so scared of terrorist attacks that this was their main election issue5) the US economy is in the crapper.Who is winning the war on terrorism???

So far, I haven't used session ID's so that isn't a big problem for me right now. Google only indexed my index page (which is a frames page) and it took another 2 weeks to index my main page. I went through some of the material you guys suggested and one thing I did was convert all my query strings to search engine friendly url's . Now my url's are of the fasion http://xx.com/load/main.php/id/123456 I also added the meta tag revisit and index follow. I hope all this stuff helps. I my ranking in yahoo is pretty good (first page on most related search terms) but in google, I am not even on the map. Oh, and my site is at civicsir.info in case you guys wanted to check it out.

I know most people use IE but is there a way to browse your website as if it were other versions of IE or even other browsers (Netscape, Opera, Firefox, etc.). I want know how I can test a website for those browsers and older versions of IE. Obviously one way is to downlaod all the browsers and test that way but it is something I am trying to avoid. Plus, I can't test older versions of IE.Any suggestions?

I was looking for google information and website promotion and got here. I just found out it offers free hosting. And from what I see, this free host offers more than paid hosts.One question for long time users of this hosting service. What is the uptime like? I know some free hosts have a problem with downtime. I knew bush was going to win because the major concern for the many americans is terrorism. Not the economy, world image, or any of that. Bush is the one that offers those people more comfort (than Kerry) when it comes to this issue. Kerry is regarded as soft (being a left winger) who cannot handle the tough issue of terrorism.I think that's why Bush won.I think it is not so good for the world community. Bush is very narrowly focused on America and that actually reflects many american mindsets right now. They are scared and that fear makes them inwardly focused.One good thing though, this is Bush's last term...

DSL is much better than cable. I used to use cable and it was always slow at certain times. With DSL, I always get constant speeds. Also, in my area, DSL has better upstream than cable. I get about 310-320kb down and 85-90kb up.Also in my area, I've heard people got cancelled from cable because they were "hogging" bandwidth. If you are selling unlimited access, how can you charge someone with hogging bandwidth? Ridiculous..

For movies, I use Windows Media Player 6.2 something. It is already included in windows xp and it is very small and efficient. The program is like 5kb. Why download WMP Classic when it is already included with XP?For codecs, I think the best is Codec pack all in one. It has all the popular codecs, including subs, ogg, etc.And of course, MP3's are played using WinAMP. Lite though.

I didn't know you could buy traffic but which service did you use? Are they all paid (I am poor)? And are they just hits, or are they actual visitors interested in your site? I read somewhere that sometimes these traffic generators just move your hit counter but those hits aren't from real people, or they are from people who aren't interested in your site and are paid just to go click on websites.

karlo, thanks for the info. But, that software is not free... I am a poor (and cheap) guy! heh... What do you know about google and meta tags? I have read that meta tags aren't that important in a google ranking.

Thanks for the info. I found that session ID's and googlebot and most people seem to agree that googlebot doesn't like them. So far, I've also found that googlebot seems to be ok with php if it does not have a query string. It will still work with short query strings but googlebot absolutely hates long ones. If this is the case, what is an alternative way to pass variables in PHP?

I was wondering what kind of ways you guys promote your sites and how you try to generate traffic. There are obviously the standard ways like submitting to search engines, free for all links, reciprocal links, but is there something else?I read on another board, a guy created a screen saver and uploaded it to free download sites. Because the download sites always have your URL and you can also put your site in the screen saver itself, it is a good way to promote. Other ideas?

I have been looking around on different forums to try and figure out if Google has a problem with PHP pages. Obviously they index them because they come up in searches, but does it take google longer to index these sites? Also does Google not scan as deep on PHP sites?Just want to try and figure this out so I know if I should use php for making websites.
