Copyright Protection What is...Copyright protection?
rejected replied to rejected's topic in General Discussion
The only legal action you could take would be for plagiarism. You could only claim yourself to be the legal and true owner and creator of the material. -
Well, not all smokers are like that. Most do sit in the smoking sections, but I don't care much about myself getting second hand smoke one bit. Second hand smoke may be worse for you, but in the same volume as a cigarette. When you inhale second hand smoke from 5 feet away, you won't get barely 5% the exhaled smoke. If it bugs you that much you could go and tell a waiter or waitress that the person or persons are in the wrong section. It was a little inconsiderate of you to take the prejudice of implying that all smokers are like that. My parents hardly ever smoke around me. Each of them smokes 1-3 cigarettes a day, and they always go in the open garage or out into our backyard to smoke. They don't smoke in restaurants, and if they ever needed one that bad they would go outside and smoke it. I have a question for you: Do you hate all smokers? Even ones that you don't know? What if your parents, brother, or sister smoked? Would you hate them? Of course not! I'm sorry if I made this seem like a bashing session, but I need to vent myself on prejudices and stereotypes.

Who Is Buying Nintendo Revolution? When it comes...
rejected replied to izimngcubes15's topic in Computer Gaming
I'm going to buy the Revolution as soon as I can, but with my limiting budget, I might not be able to get it the first few months that it's out. I'm definately going to buy it before the PS3 or the Xbox 360. Nintendo has always been the underdog in gaming, and that's what makes me support them so much. -

The Worst Thing I Had Ever Done In A Relationship
rejected replied to theconman's topic in Dating And Relationships
Ahhh, that's got to stink. That's another reason why you shouldn't cheat period, or as you said, make sure you know them beforehand, or at least what they look like LOL -
They're all very good, and better than I can do, I think they're almost perfect, but here are some comments on each one.1 - The grunge look is great, I love how the render is blended so well with the whole signature. The shapes are well rendered, too, did you use the shape tools for those?2 - It's not the best of the ones I see out here, but it's still mighty fine. I think spiderman is just a little too bright and discolored, and the background is kind of iffy.3 - The blurred effect is great, but the text is too opaque. I can barely see it, and at first I thought it said Whyme lol.4 - Awesome. The color looks so great with this whole signature. The render blends perfectly into the background and I love the whole faded blue color. The txt looks very good here, the "Psycho" looks likes it's trying to cling to the ball.5 - Very original one, the eye looks pretty good in comparison to the signature, and I like the simple look, things don't always have to be advanced.6 - There's something that just doesn't look right and I can't figure it out. Maybe it's the blank space? I really like that font, may I ask what the name of it is?7 - I think you've shown us this one before, I like the little face render inext to your name, and the confetti strigs hanging around or whatever they are >.<8 - The grunge backgorund looks great on this!! The render doesn't really compliment it though, the edges are just a little too shiny. I don't think I really like those lines going through the signature and right under the text either.9 - Very nice effect! I think you should do a tutorial on how to create one of those.10 - The moment I saw this I laughed. America...bleep yeah, come again to save the mother bleepin' day yeah... I enjoy how the border changes colors while going across, and the background is good (maybe the same concept as signature 9?)Very very good Johnny, keep them coming.

<<< New Signature >>> Dark Invasion
rejected replied to electriic ink's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I beleive he used Paint Shop Pro 9 There's always mspaint, but with all seriousness, try Photoshop CS or Paint Shop Pro. Now for my complaining with reasoning: I don't like it because it's of terrible quality, the text doesn't match, and I can't distinguish what the background is other than a blurred abstract creation. -
I went and did a little research on copyright protection for you guys.. Copyright protection is a tangible material that is protected by a copyright. Anything can be copyrighted that you can view, hear, if it can be saved on your computer, or anything else that is a way of saving. Copyright Protection begins when something is created in tangible form. Once you have your material written down or saved somewhere, it is copyrighted, but you can't sue them unless you register your copyright with the U.S. Copyright Office. Even if your copyright isn't registered, you can still assert a copyright claim as the author. When you see a "Š Copyright 2004, 2005 Chris Wilson", it doesn't mean that the copyright expires in 2005. What it means it that the material was created in 2004 and then edited in 2005. A copyright lasts until 50 years after the death of the original author. Taking anyone's work from the internet is illegal! If you see a background that you like, or part of someone's source that you'd like to use, that's illegal! That material is copyrighted. There are three things that aren't illegal when taking things: if it has been created by the federal government, if the copyright has been abondoned by the holder, and if the copyright has expired. If you have downloaded a free item from a website, you still have to comply with the owner's terms and or conditions. If it says that you must give them credit, you must give them credit, or else you're commiting copyright infringment. If the owner says you cannot edit it, you can't edit it legally. You cannot take someone's work and translate it into a different language and then call it your own either. The Bern Convention says: You have to have the author's permission to translate it into a different language. I'd like to thank http://www.whatiscopyright.org/ for educating myself and others on the copyrighting experience. If I hadn't given credit to that website, I would be commiting plagarism from taking their ideas and paraphrasing them.

I think my High School's technology program is actually pretty nice. All students are required to to BCIS (Business Computer Information Systems) which includes classes on how to use Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, and Publisher extensively. The BCIS class also shows you how to type correctly, and the basics of a computer. My school also offers training extensive in JavaScript, C++, and Visual Basic 6.0.Even though they teach us all of this, their networking system setup sucks.I'm a 15 year old freshman who has access to their main administrator account, I mean I'm not even that big of a nerd that I should be able to do this..I know at least 20 other people who have access to it aswell...

I'd like a copy too please! chriswiscool [attt] gmail [d0t] com, or you could just PM it to me.. Very nice song, I can imagine a rhythm that goes with it already... What genre of music would this be performed in? Keep up the good work, I admire your writing ability.

Weird And Scariest Dreams what were yours like?
rejected replied to Soul Dimension's topic in General Discussion
I never remember my dreams anymore. Maybe once a month, but that's it. And when I do remember a dream, the dream has something to relate to something huge that's happened in my life. For example, the last dream I had was that my ex and I got back together, this dream occured two days after we broke up.A few years ago, I used to have the same dream every night for a few months in a row. The only part of the dream that I ever remembered was that I was falling in the middle of a canyon, and I always woke up a few feet from the ground. When I woke up it was an adrenaline rush: my heart was beating as fast as it could, I was sweaty, and too awake.I don't remember any of my nightmares, I've had too many scary experience in my life, nothing really phases me in the scary or frightened area.. Maybe I'll post a thread about it, but it's pretty bad >.< -
I wouldn't suggest Clicksor ads, the more that you use the service, the lower your CTR gets. CTR stands for Click Through Rate. Why do you use Clicksor if you don't usggest it for a forum OpaQue?

Do You Use Neopets? Free Games, Forums, Fun for Everyone :)
rejected replied to concertina226's topic in Computer Gaming
I played a few years ago, but then I moved on. I guess it seemed to childish for me, I'm a 15 year old male who's waaayyy too mature for his age. When I was around 12, I went and played for a few months, and it was interesting and all, but it got boring after I did most of the things...I found Jello World and all of the secret places, I was ranked high enough. It got annoying having everyone talk like they were illiterate. You'll usually find me on habbohotel.co.uk and mycoke.com though..I think those are a few good places that are similar to Neopets in a way. -

Geocaching this is not your average treasure hunt
rejected replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in General Discussion
My geography teacher was telling me about this! He said when he retired from his crappy job as teaching this would be his hobby. So you GeoCache? Have you hidden anything or found any caches?Very nice way to start off the improved What Is...? Forum, not only did you clean it out, but you're keeping it clean too
