  1. What's amazing is that the space between the storylines of Soul Caliber 1 and 2 are the same as the time elapsed when those games were released. When everyone was done exacting revenge, trying to take over the world, or just find the Soul Edge in Soul Caliber 1, everyone went home and soon discovered that something's a miss. Well, it's 4 years later and everyone is back doing the same things all over again. The storylines are so well represented in the endings, the destined battles, and the character profiles, even new comers to the series have a vivid picture of why everyone is here. Not only that a new Weapon Master mode has been added. Namco incorporated and blended together an interesting mix of an interactive novel, RPG-like gameplay, and the normal fighting portion into one logical adventure to find the real Soul Edge. Fighting games are always about how the whole thing plays out. The way the damage is set, the unique characters style, and the way the characters can move, all play a crucial role in determining the fun factor of the game. I'd like to think that this game ranks high in all the categories discussed in the previous sentence. Then there's many other crazy and fun additions mostly found in Weapon Master mode. In certain fights, there maybe an increase in wind causing a character falling out of the ring more frequent or changes of the fighting area into quicksand or ice instead of the normal solid surfaces. Really nice, Namco. What I love about fighting games is the fact that knowing which buttons are punch and kick, then your set to play; however, it takes a long time to truly perfect the game. The game mostly revolves around the fighting scenes. The controls are really easy to learn. There's a horizontal slash, vertical slash, kick, and block button. Now knowing how to use the soul charge, guard impact, and using the walls to your advantage takes a lot of practice. The graphics are stunning! If you've noticed the intro movie alone, Namco has out done them selves since Tekken 4 (Yes, Namco makes the Tekken series). The backgrounds are really cool looking and painfully detailed. The books in the library stage the wrinkles on the wings of the windmills in the windmill stage, and don't forget the cherry blossoms falling as an intro to the Japanese stage, are all great examples of what I'm talking about. There are little to know stage interaction in Arcade mode so that's an issue that Namco might attend to next time. Still that doesn't stop me from deducting some points from the game. You cannot mess with the various audio elements in the game. The audio is best compared to recent RPGs made by Square-Enix. Each character, except for Charade, has around 60-80 dialogues to say. Yes, even Voldo has that much even though its all grunts and screams muffled by the bandage over his mouth. Plus what's cool is the fact you can choose one of four phrases to say while waiting to fight on the versus screen. The music is really fitting to the various stages. There's an Egyptian feeling when fighting within a temple and as always, a musical tribute to the Armageddon-like final stage...despotic and yet invigorating. Then there's the sound of clashing of steel and flesh bounding into the body that all fighting games must recreate into a digital sound. If your asking yourself whether to buy or rent it, the most reasonable answer is to buy a copy or three (If you own a Gamecube and/or X-box). Yeah, it's fun playing against the computer, but playing against a friend is where fighting game's life is infinite. Every other type of game whether it's Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy, or Metal Gear Solid, all have a point where everything is completed and there's nothing left to do besides deleting the file and starting over again to do. Another great advantage of buying is the fact that it might take a good 2-4 weeks to collect all the weapons, finish Weapon Master mode, collect and beat all the extra modes, and finish the game with all the characters. Man, looking at the list makes me feel all tingly inside.
  2. The story in this game is really quite interesting and entertaining. You play as "The Prince", and because you tampered with the time-line you must die by fates dark hand (guardian of the time-line) The story is very intense and draws you right into the core of it. The story also leaves you at the edge of your seat in most cases. The story is very original and takes on a life of it's own.Ah yes the game play. Beautiful wonderful game play. Now let me explain why I used that tagline. It was "One Fate. One Million Ways to Defy It". The heart of this game lies in the heart of the combat system. The combat system for people who have played the sands of time is completely new. The combat system allows you to develop your own style of fighting because every attack is another opportunity for something new. The learning curve for all these attacks and combos is pretty steep but well worth it. Then it comes down to either charging into battle and slamming whatever button your finger can get to fast enough or taking your time, timing your battles and winning with finesse. Now that we are past the combat part of the game play, this game is still non-linear in case you were wondering. There are boss battles which are also new to fans of the previous title. The game plays very smoothly especially with a newly developed combat system. Exploration in this game couldn't get any better, you never know what your going to find around the next turn or what your going to run into. And besides, the environments are just down right mouth watering.Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is mighty pretty, more like gorgeous. The environments are HUGE and detailed in ways I could never have imagined. Since the game is darker in an evil sense the environments play a good part in creating that atmosphere. The Prince's character model is great looking and all the other characters and enemies look incredible. This game leaves you admiring the small details instead of counting flaws. You probably are asking yourself, with a new combat system and tons of new moves to perform, how do the controls hold up? Pretty darn well. In The Sands of Time the controls were super tight and thats great when you have a lot of death defying jumps. The controls in Warrior Within are still tight (100% dead on accurate and responsive) But like I said, the learning curve for so many things to do is a bit steep so you may want to take time to practice the movements and you will be button perfecting instead of button mashing. Another good thing for people who don't wan to get to "in depth" is that you don't have to take time to learn all the combos or make up your own. Either way, your free to decide which it's going to be...To learn or not to learn, that is your technique!This will always be a game that will be comforting to play again and again. With a game that offers more that it was supposed to, it's super fun and enjoyable. Plus you might want to replay it in case you missed anything or to further master the awesome fighting system. A game you will be proud to have in your collection. I would say the replay value is up there.
  3. Personalising your character has also continued to evolve to an incredible degree. Your character?s face and body shape is so complex that whatever you look like, you can literally put yourself into the game. If anything, it?s almost too complex; just incredible. There are many new sponsors with more clothing and equipment options, so many that they now have a Pro Shop search engine to help you find the item and brand you?re looking for. They also have enough variety that whether you?re one of the Designer Guys or have the taste of a myopic packrat, you?re bound to find a clothing combination that suits you. As your character advances in the game, a larger range of clothing and accessories become available for purchase. Seeing a larger range of animations and clothing for the female golfers is a welcome addition. I hope they continue to include even more clothing options in next year?s game. I love the fact I can give a character a Scottish cap, or an African bead bracelet. I admit, though, I would like to finally see characters besides Natalie Gulbis able to wear their long hair outside of their hat instead of tucking it up. Putting has changed slightly, but I think for the better. The grid is gone, which will be a trial for some, but I never could read the thing right anyway and always left it turned off. I?ve found that with a bit of practice, you can judge as well as the computer how far 7 inches right and 1 foot, 4 inches long is. New is an ability called Tiger Vision. This allows you to see exactly where to aim your marker a couple of times per round. Some think this makes things too easy, but I don?t agree. You can only use it a couple times per round and you can also go to Options and shut it off completely to make the game that little bit harder. As in past versions of the game, when you have low skill, your caddy isn?t as good at making suggestions as he is at higher skill levels, and he isn?t always right on at any level. Even Tiger Vision isn?t fool-proof, only working to sink your ball about 90% of the time. So, putting remains a challenge; how much, depending on yourself and the options you?ve chosen.Some have said that the entire game is too easy, actually. However, I don?t find this to be the case. Perhaps they?re just much better at playing than I am. The game has an ?easy mode?, so to speak, where you can include options like getting advice from your caddy on everything about the course, having L1 give you a Power Boost to your swing to let you hit further, L2 to give you spin on the ball to control it in ways that truly boggle physics, and so on. On the other hand, you can shut off all these options and play in Tour Mode as well, in which case you?re in for a considerable challenge, especially on a Tiger-proofed course.Graphics, as always, are superb and very life-like. Sounds are very realistic. It?s almost like watching the real thing on television. If I have one beef with the sounds, it?s that the same rap tune plays constantly while I?m in the Gameface menu and I can?t shut it off unless I shut off all menu sounds completely (which is the preferable choice for me after hearing this song for the umpteen thousandth time). The commentating is as humorous this year as last. Sometimes witty, sometimes sarcastic, and they don?t mind letting you know if they think you?re playing well or poorly.Character advancement is done by buying upgrades to your abilities and buying new clothing, accessories and equipment. Now we come to the major beef most people have with the game, self included. You can max out your character before even entering the PGA season. How can the season be entertaining enough to last ten years of your star?s career when there is essentially no benefit to playing besides watching your golfer play the same 18 holes 4 times in a row and win another several hundred thousand he has no use for. In fact, they?ve made it easier to max your character out in a short amount of time in this year?s game than last year?s. I don?t know, but I suspect this is because they don?t have any ideas about what to do about it. So, on the off-chance someone involved in designing the game reads this, let me make a few suggestions.? Only award the players money in PGA mode, give them other things in other modes, like Legend Coins, gear, animations and so on. This means you must play the PGA season to improve, but you must play the other modes to gain things useful to other aspects of the game.? On a related note, how about removing the calendar rewards and using them as some of the rewards given in place of money were the above suggestion adopted. I mean, really, does anyone actually circle dates on their calendar and tell their friends ?sorry guys, not today, gotta hurry home and beat Alistair to win his hat??? Make the signing bonus for all companies the same amount instead of rapidly increasing sums of money, but keep the increasing reward for wearing the sponsor?s goods. This lessens the amount the characters make for gaining a new sponsor (meaning they have to play more games to improve) but continues to reward them a little more for using a new sponsor?s products than an older sponsor?s ones. The reason the characters advance so quickly is because they?re provided too much money in rewards and bonuses. Unlike real people, these characters have no houses or cars to spend their money on.Replayability is very high on a game like this, since whether you?re on a mission to improve your character, build your own course, or just have fun, the whole point is to go whack a few balls on the world?s most renowned and challenging courses. This game allows you to do that and then some. With all the options this game has, when you?re in the mood to play some digital golf, there is no way you could possibly get bored in this game. Never mind renting it; if golf is your thing, I think you?re quite safe shelling out the sheckles to put this title on your shelf.I give it a 10/10
  4. I have this same problem. Its as if Dreamweaver times out the connection even though your still connected. So i either restart my computer or go to start, control panel, network and internet connections, network connections, and then i just disable the connection of my computer for a couple seconds and then enable it. It works like a charm. Must be a weird bug, in a very pricy program.
  5. The actual gameplay is pretty much the same as it is in volume 2. With the exception of a few new tricks, passes, and game breakers, there really isn?t much new to talk about. Everything is just as they left it in the second game. Everything is still awesome and entertaining.The graphics look a little bit more enhanced and better. New colors and shadings, add new life to the game. Many purchasable things like logos, headbands, hats, and nets, all have their own unique style. What really surprised me was the different locations you can have your stadium located in. The game has many real life cities available to place your stadium in. It also has several options that you can choose for the surrounding area of your stadium. The sound is still good. A new library of music comes along with volume 3. For all the times I?ve played Street volume 3, I always seemed to pick up something new and find something interesting. I was able to be entertained by this game for a couple of months and then I sort of got tired of it and bored with it. This is probably because I am not the world?s biggest basketball fan. If you are a die hard Street or basketball fan, you will definitely get more from this game then I did. But if you are just an average Joe that goes through games fast, this might be another story for you. For most people though, this game should keep you happy and entertained for a while.
  6. Xbox 360 is scheduled to be out this holiday season. While the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Revolution are scheduled to be out next spring. The PlayStation 3 is going to be the most expensive but they are trying to find ways to reduce the price for its so it should be under $500 dollars. They recently took out the router it had so now theres only one ethernet port into it.
  7. What happened to the classic consoles? I mean i used to love to play Super Nintendo so many great game so much fun. They just dont make those simplictic games no more everything has become more complicated.
  8. The gameplay is the reason why the game baffled me. On one hand, the gameplay is rather fresh from the last two games that have stuck mainly to conventional RPG battles and this game throws in some unique twists in the Junction system. On the other hand, there is so much responsibility and complexity to the Junction system that it doesn't flesh out the battles like it should and leaves you flippant about taking it seriously. The decision to give the Guardian Forces a HP count makes them superior to use the characters themselves and in turn, makes combat repetitive. I also didn't like how using magic was implemented in a way from 'drawing' them from random places - the MP system was sorely missed for me.The junction system basically overules levelling up from battles. I found this extremely difficult to learn. Okay, you junction magic to each attribute such as strength, attack, defense, speed etc. For instance, if you were fighting say, Shiva. Junctioning fire to your attack will give you a fire attack therefore giving you a higher one. If you were fighting an earth enemy, junctioning earth magic to your defense will give you a higher defense rate. Depending on the amount of magic you have, it's done in percentages, the more magic you junction, the more damage is reduced or increased. What is more important is that magic can be junctioned to boost your HP. Using higher refined magic such as Ultima and Flare will improve it even more. This is practically essential for bosses. This adds to the extreme challenge of the game, which some will consider an improvement for Final Fantasy VIII. Another aspect is the GF expanding importance in this game. GF's (Guardian Force) are your summons in the game which all have their own abilities in order to assist your characters offside battle. They level up just as much as your characters, except even faster to acquire abilities they can learn. They need AP to do this. And they can learn abilities by setting them to do so on the GF screen in the menu. Such abilities occur from learning to refine magic out of items to having battle options such as making it available to even further boost HP, MP, the damage they can cause or even turning your enemies into cards. It's varied and useful, but very different. This is one of the particular thing I felt awkward about.As for battles, your party of three can fight in the same way the previous game did. You can attack, use magic, use items or use GF's. There will be rare times when you can use commands such as "Kamikaze" when you learn the ability for instance. Acquiring magic comes from either draw points (where you can sap magic into a character's inventory) or drawing them from enemies. GF's are acquired this way also. It saves a lot of bother in times, but also get's frustrating that you might not have the right magic you could have if you had normal MP. The bad thing about the battles is that you'll most likely use the GF's constantly because they have their own HP meaning you can use them more than once. It makes the battles a lot easier, and more repetitive.Weapons can be levelled up by buying weapon magazines to find out the model type then gaining the items to refine them. The items usually come from defeated monsters. I found this annoying and very hard to come by some of the items, and virtually without them, attacking damage is pathetic and futile. This means that some battles can become so repetitive that you can be rendered to using GF's constantly and boringly, it brings the appeal down.Another apsect I didn't like was the fact that to achieve a limit break, you either had to use an aura spell or be near to death. And then the limit break could turn out to be ineffective and weak. However, the concept of some of the limit breaks for some of the characters were uniquely designed. Rinoa has the most useful as her dog can intervene in fights and selflessly attack the enemy. While Selphie has the most powerful in "The End", where she can eliminate some bosses in one hit with it.
  9. The previous 2 3D GTAs were wonderfully delicious games with impressive gameplay and a genre defining free roaming world. And San Andreas provides the exact same thing, but with so much more. I really can't describe it in words, but everything, EVERYTHING have been improved. And the sum of the improvements are much more than their individual parts.I'll just take cutscenes. In most games they usually informative, perhaps it progresses the story (GTA3 and GTA:VC included). San Andreas uses them for this and more with very good effect. The cut scene when CJ first enters his house. There wasn't a word of dialogue. Just him returning home and his reaction and emotion. It said with no words everything that needed to be said about the situation and totally set the mood from which he was coming. What does this have to do with the rest of the game. It goes to the immersiveness of it. It truly does play like a movie, you're sucked in and you're the main character. It doesn't present at story, it tells a story, there's a difference.The upkeep and customization of CJ. It strikes the perfect balance between actually enjoying the customization and becoming annoyed at having to worry about every little detail. Intuitive menus for when you change clothes and hairstyles. Friendly reminders of CJ status. Note not reminders to feed him or work him out, but just telling you how he's doing so you can decide if you want him to hit the gym or the Cluckin' Bell or whatever.The Map. The map, the map the map. It's freaking huge. I headed in one direction when I first started out and many many real life minutes later I realized that I hadn't even crossed half of the map. City to rural transitions are very gradual and natural. No skyscrapers and then suddenly pine trees here. And the landmarks included are all over the place. Everyone knows about the Transamerica Building and the Vinewood sign. But I'm going to expound on the Garver Bridge. Everyone took it to be the Oakland-Bay Bridge in San Francisco. ANd it really does look like it. But there's also a train trestle next to it. It looks just like the Firth of Forth Railway Bridge in Scotland. And in Scotland next to that bridge is the Firth of Forth Road Bridge. That is a modern suspension bridge, which lo and behold looks a lot like the Garver Bridge. It's little things like that that make this game such a trip.So much more to talk about, like training and car customization. How immersive some of the mission are. Instead of too many "Go here and do this because I told you to" type missions I've noticed many here now have motivation and back story. To me that make the mission just that much more fun.
  10. Thank you bureX. You were right about the body thing. I forgot to erase the previous code i had. My fualt. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
  11. session_start();That is line 13. <?php/* check login script, included in db_connect.php. */session_start();if (!isset($_SESSION['username']) || !isset($_SESSION['password'])) { $logged_in = 0; return;} else { // remember, $_SESSION['password'] will be encrypted. if(!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $_SESSION['username'] = addslashes($_SESSION['username']); } // addslashes to session username before using in a query. $pass = $db_object->query("SELECT password FROM users WHERE username = '".$_SESSION['username']."'"); if(DB::isError($pass) || $pass->numRows() != 1) { $logged_in = 0; unset($_SESSION['username']); unset($_SESSION['password']); // kill incorrect session variables. } $db_pass = $pass->fetchRow(); // now we have encrypted pass from DB in //$db_pass['password'], stripslashes() just incase: $db_pass['password'] = stripslashes($db_pass['password']); $_SESSION['password'] = stripslashes($_SESSION['password']); //compare: if($_SESSION['password'] == $db_pass['password']) { // valid password for username $logged_in = 1; // they have correct info // in session variables. } else { $logged_in = 0; unset($_SESSION['username']); unset($_SESSION['password']); // kill incorrect session variables. }}// clean upunset($db_pass['password']);$_SESSION['username'] = stripslashes($_SESSION['username']);?>That is the whole script if you need it.

  13. Honor doesnt really matter once you can to 15. I mean you are able to play the special forces maps. Im a 70 somethin honor. Never really paid attention to it. I was more into fragrate. But that got stupid becuase so many people reconnected and i couldnt compare to them with their high fragrates, so i stopped being tracked. Then i just played for fun. My clan and I just tryed to out do each other like who can get most kills in 7 rounds. Ill think about giving you my account becuase i dont play the game any more. 2.4 killed the game i hate it now. I just gave up playing. ive been playing since 1.9 .
  14. Sadly Nintendo was concentrating on gaming experience with the GameCube. They were pushing for the games to win the people over not the graphics or online play etc. Well they didn't turn out to good in this generation. I was hoping they would. I myself own a gamecube and a Playstation 2.
  15. How do you make the pictures fade into the background like that?Anyways thats very nice, but you should move the text up becuase you cant see the street fight text on the bottom. But besides that its a great sig. Keep up the great work.
