I think that TPB will be back online soon because they seemed pretty sure that what they were doing was legal in Sweden. Also, TPB is a tracker - they track the downloads and synchronize it, they dont actually host illegal files (or that's what they claimed!)And BTW the story recieved 4000+ in less than 9 hours!! They're pretty popular

Thanks for all the reviews! Seeing the complaints about speed and loading, I decided to enable caching. This should speed up the site a little. Also, I think that the main reason for all the slowness was the loading script. So I removed the loading script.Appreciate the help and comments!Regards,Paul

First of all, its a very nice design that you came up with! Sencondly, change the title It reads, "A Gift Or Barnes" and I think that you meant, "A Gift For Barnes" PS. @FA Ace and Xmen lovers: I don't think that X3 was a great movie compared to its prequels X1 & X2 (could be the new director)

There are TWo possible answers:1) You just never realized it (viruses dont want to be known!)2) You're just smart enough to not visit 'bad' sites and to be very careful about the files you download! And, WinRAR is not a very good protection again Malware/Spyware and software of that sort, same with FF. Everything has its vulnerabilities!

Don't worry... if it was a big flaw that could compromise your computers safety, some news site will have the details on that and there has been no news yet! So sit back and relax...

I blame the speed problems entirely on Joomla! lol. Actually, I disabled caching because I'm still developing the site. So now, I'm going to enabling caching (not yet, real soon) and there will be a change in loading speed. I think I'll remove the Loading thing... it actually slows the site down. Did you mean "less professional"? Yes, I agree, the whiting out was a waste. People on my blog said the same

I don't know... the PS3's graphics seem to be more promising than Nintendo.Nintendo has always had worse graphics than its Sony and Microsoft counterparts.Although the DS has sold more units than the PSP, you can't say that DS has better graphics!Same with the GameCube vs. PS2/XboXNow when Wii comes out, the PS3 will be able to outdo it like its always been doing. (XboX 360 was a disappointment though )

Pretty Cool Website Chat/Boards site
Paul replied to FirefoxRocks's topic in Websites and Web Designing
The site has a very good concept behind it, but I feel that the implementation of the idea hasn't been carried out very well. What they did so far is admirable, but, they could spruce up the website and graphics to attract their target audience: kids. But, as I said, the concept behind the site is admirable. -
Best Way To Improve The Overall Look Of My Webpages.
Paul replied to zach101's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Combining CSS and XHTML (HTML) can produce some VERY professional and neat websites! Just put together an idea on paper, draw it in Photoshop and then, fiddle around with HTML to create your design! Thats how I go about it -
New Site Dessign using only CSS for the style.
Paul replied to moldboy's topic in Websites and Web Designing
You could add some padding to the menu items on the left. The padding will ensure that even after the underline, the height of the menu remains the same. You could make the colours a little more interesting and appealing... Its a nice simple design! Good Job. -
The site is located at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (don't ask about the name... its just a random name) This site was built on the Joomla CMS (v1.0.8). It also has a directory within it (using the Mostes Tree Directory component for Mambo/Joomla) The site design was bulit using ONLY NOTEPAD and VERY LITTLE ImageReady (nope, i didnt use photoshop for this one ). Some cool things about my site include, the "Loading..." script and the transparency on the loading screen, The nice menu on top and the position of the header image (it looks like the content and the top bar are place over it) So go ahead and tell me what you think about the site and its design. ANY comments will be appreciated. Regards, Paul PS. if your browser doesn't support JavaScript, the loading screen will not go away. Please bear with me, I am trying to figure out a workaround for this

I HAVE A SUGGESTION: Why dont you have a little add-your-site script that will allow people to add their sites (after approval)This'll be great for all those that you were unable to include :)Paul

Joomla/mambo Theme Tutorials How can I make my own themes?
Paul replied to barnes's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Its quite easy actually. Just design a site as you normally would, but while using CSS keep in mind the classes and ids that Joomla generates by default. If you know PHP, you can edit the com_content (components) and the joomla.php (includes) to generate content like you want it, i can tell you fron expirience that editing the core files is a pain, but once you're done, everything's looking better Then after you create the general template, for the main body section, place this in your template <?php mosMainBody(); ?>and for the other module positions just place this code: <?php mosLoadModules ('ModulePositionName'); ?> And you can add your own custom module positions by going to: Site >> Template Manager >> Module positions Just play around with the original template and you'll figure it out soon Hope this helped! Bypassing Web Filters a begginers guide
Paul replied to einstein's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Method 1 doesn't really work unless the site you are visiting is hosted on a dedicated server. If the site uses shared hosting... you'll end up on an ERROR page or some other website on that server. -
Boozker's Place Or Carpet Boarding? Which one should i keep up.
Paul replied to BooZker's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I would keep both, because both sites are great! Both your sites seem worth keeping by looking at the hit-counters!What you could do, is get someone to help you maintain one of the sites like how Xisto has other mods.Hope this helped -
Online predators are a HUGE issue right now and several major Chat services like Yahoo! has begun to save chat logs and IP addresses to track down any suspicious activity. If you want to meet other people, the internet is not a good option because people may not be what they say they are.The best option, is to go to your nearest mall... and chill

First of all, these site are NOT realated to Google Inc.A quick whois lookup shows that these sites are registered by random individuals.Basically, what these sites are trying to do is use Google content on their own site to have a content-filled website. The are probably using a simple script that will query data from Google and just display it, but, it will replace all the URL's containing https://www.google.de/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=BwkjVKfAD8uH8QfckIGgCQ&gws_rd=ssl with http://www.theirsite.com/.I just sent an email to the guys at Google and they'll probably have these sites banned from the index or just simply shutdown.I will post an update when I get a reply.PaulJust another 15-year-old-webmaster

Although the graphics ar nice, the template is the basic Mambo template. I think that since your site IS about designing, you create your own nice little template for the Mambo, it will add to the professional look .The Xisto banner is a great idea !Also, in terms of SEO, Google only spidered the domain: chopped.co.nr and it looks like it did not cache/spider any of the page further because the co.nr domains place your website in a frame, and the Googlebot isn't too friendly with the frames B)As a result, with co.ne domains, usually only the homepages are cached and the redirected sites are left out . What you should do is that try to change the settings of your co.nr domain so that the page is redirected rather than places in frames.Hope this helps!Wishing you and your site the best of luck B)Paul

You can split up the file (using RAR technology) and send it in separate emails using your own mail provider. I know that Gmail has a 10MB limit, so you can use Gmail and send three RAR files that are split up Or, as apurva suggested, you can use http://ww1.xasamail.com/rg-erdr.php?_rpo=t (15MB attachment size limit.)
