Quite recently, I changed my Student Web Designer site to a new Joomla design that i created. It was quite a lot of work, but I'm pretty happy with it . Also, you might notice that the URL's are search engine friendly, this was done with the help of the commercial Joomla Component: SEF Advance (Search for it on a search engine for more information). The homepage (and most of the site) is XHTML valid; I like to adhere to the latest web standards . This design also has some almost 'hidden' features: Click on the logo for a slide-down menu that lets you chage the color theme of the current template. You can drag the boxes in the right sidebar, you can chage the order of the boxes. I used some scriptaculous and some other script for the two features mentioned above. So, tell me what you think of the design of the website. Any feedback is appreciated. (NOTE: Positive feedback only, negative feedback will be completey ignored , just kidding)

You can use .htaccess to achieve this while pleasing the Search Engines as well. Create a file (if it doesnt already exist) called .htaccess and add the following code to the .htaccess file and then place the .htaccess file in your public_html folder. Options +FollowSymlinksRewriteEngine onrewriterule ^domain.com; [url=domain.com/forum/; [r=301,nc]rewriterule ^domain.com$ [url=domain.com/forum/; [r=301,nc]What this does this that it redirects http://www.domain.com/ to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and tells the Search Engines that the homepage has permanently moved to the new page (forums). Please REPLACE domain.com and with your actual domain name. Note: This method of using .htaccess only works on Apache servers with mod_rewrite enabled (If you use Xisto you will be fine!)

Trap17 can block those pages from Search Engines if they want using the robots.txt ... If this REALLY bothers you, try talking to BuffaloHelp or OpaQuE about this, and they can block these pages from search engines and bots!

Hi, I just introduced free image hosting and thought I'd make it available exclusively to the members of Xisto (you are the only people to know about it... for now at least ) The site is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ You can host images for free. The size restriction is 125KB (I will increase this upon request), and the allowed file types are GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, SWF, PDF, ZIP (yea.. even zip files) So tell me what you think of the template i just put together for the site, etc.

Are you trying to make your dynamic URLs (http://www.domain.com/index?lala=4859&cid=rio&id=45) to a URL like http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ? You can achieve this by using mod_rewrite (comes with Xisto hosting) via .htaccess I can only lead you so far: you have to use .htaccess but I dont know how to use it for PHP Nuke Hope this sets a direction

Hmm... i dont really understand what you are asking for, but maybe you could draw an image in paint or something to help visualize.If you could post the current code here and tell me what you want to modify I may be able to help :)BTW, by transparent, how much do you mean? (eg. 10%, 20% .... its possible to have a transparent item on a webpage using CSS )

Just wanted to add that subdomains don't generate as much traffic as domains... lowering the revenue
