No its not free, its illegal to use anything below 2.0.0 Final. I have personal experience and stuff and I would not test the powers that be. I would buy a copy of 2.1.6 and use that or 2.1.5. They are supported by IPB and are the most legal version thats out there. If you are hosting anything other or below the 2.0.0 Final then you are using an illegal board, and IPS takes illegal stuff and priracy very seriously! So don't mess with them, you will also have your hosting banned if you host them here. You can read a topic I started and read some of BuffaloHELPs replies and then read what IPS sent me. That should help you out. A "trial bases" is for testing and previewing the software, not for hosting a forum for people to talk and stuff. Its for 1 or 2 people to look @ the ACP and install and test mods. You best bet is to purchase a copy.

Just as a note and stuff, you should check your spelling make make it some decent english. Anyways this should be moved to questions and queries! To help you out here is what I know to the best of my knowledge: 1)Xisto is owned by Xisto Corporation. Xisto (the domain name) is registered with GoDaddy.com! 2) I belive that the servers are in a secure location. Not in some guys shed. Probably they are located on a site or faculaty that Xisto Corporation owns. If they are not located on a Xisto Corporation site, then they are in a datacenter. Datacenters: are a place where hosting companies pay to have there servers held in secure locations where tech's and other people monitor them and make sure that the are running properly. They normally use security methods and CCTV, with biometric access to the sites. Only certififed technitions are allowed to enter the server room. And the clients that own the servers, after they provide authorization. Also there are other companies servers in the datacenter. Its like a hotel or daycare center for computers. You pay the company and they make sure everything is safe. They factor in cooling and energy and high speed connections so that we can access the stuff whenever. 3) The SQL Database should be hudge and chock full of information. This mean that everylittle thing that is kept here is in a record. From moderator logs to your post count. I am familiar with IPB and I know that the SQL database holds everything and anything that happens here. Pretty much this place lives of PHP - Hosting - SQL. SQL is the major factor. To keep the queries low and stuff, they have disabled the following features: Users browsing this topic Users browsing this forum View users active in the last.... Since I have an IPB, I can tell you the primary 8-9 SQL queries: I don't know why that trap17_ipbsessions comes up twice...but who cares. I can try viewing the SQL information here, but I doubt that we have the function enabled, since its a possible security threat I guess. Well I think the best idea would be to put it in the: Look & Feel --> IPB Default Skin --> Edit Template HTML --> Topic View --> Render Row And it would be displayed: That would be nice, so we could everybodies credits and stuff, and its in a easy spot. Its like on all other point systems thats where you have stuff like that. So you could have it on the main page, and in the Topic View area. How does that sound?

I don't use it, only to show of the Spam Patrol icon and thats about it. I know that BuffaloHELP has pretty much everything in there, and I think SM uses it.Buts its like the same thing as the blog. I think that Xisto is registered with GoDaddy.com But anyways they have awesome customer support, because they don't care about the profits, they care about quality and the services that they offer. And thats what attracks more business and money! Anyway, one day I have to buy a domain from them. Just need a site to run.

Yea, but whats the benifit with the gallery. I can tell you that only like a handful of people use it... and that half the forum users here, have no clue that they have a gallery! Anyways, have you ever been to a site with the Invision Blogs? Its neat, and a great addition. Why some many negative responses. Can you give me something other than these reasons... People will spam there blogs Contributes nothing to the forum Bad idea no credits and stuff waste of time Those area all just pointless.... Wow... thats neat, I never knew that it was logged! Anyways was that number of credits right that I had posted for him? Because it was really off and did not seem to make senes at all? You were really deep in the negatives.

How would the blogs be a negative asset to the forums? Its not like you earn credits by posting in your blogs and stuff. Its where you can talk about what you want to discuss. People will still post in the forums and stuff, since your not earning anything in the blogs. Maybe we could only let Hosted Members use the blogs and stuff? To keep them active? And force them to post as a alternative? But thats not the problem I see. The blogs are a place where you can discuss stuff, update people on your personal life, career and what you do. Like me, I install forums for people (IPB 2.1x's). And offer some support and modification istallation and my administration or moderation services. And I work for GFX HQ (Moderator) and Deadly Designs (Owner). But lets see what BuffaloHELP says.

I don't really know, thats a good question. Not like you can do anything to the credits or what do people care if you view there credits? Anyways... I think we can wait for BH or OpaQue to reply to that.

If you want to know how many credits people have then you can use the Xisto Process Page. Credit Bank Then you Login with your forum username and password, after you do that you need to type a username and wait for the page to refresh with the information. If thats even possible? I think there is an error with your name or something, because thats just wierd. Anyways good luck look at others credits.

Invision Power Blog I was wonder if we were ever going to install the IPB Blog(s) here? Since we have the gallery it would be a great addition for the members to discuss personal stuff, tell about there experiences and have a area that is there personal space in the forums. I don't see any harm in installing it, other than you have to buy it and then install it. Was this ever thought of before? I think it would get a lot more hits then the gallery, since people have PhotoBucket and ImageShack to host stuff, but you really don't use Blogger for your forum blogs. Anyways tell me what you think, because I know that we would benifit from the Blogs here.

Should this be moved to the PhotoShop (gfx) tutorial sections? And maybe pin, it since this is something most people will look for like me if you are a beginner, and really never know crap about photoshop. Anyways this is a great resource. I will share this link with some friends that need help with photoshop too. The only thing you could do is expand on some of the other features and stuff. Like button making. What do you mean, customize they way the URL displays? Like http://www.mysite.co.nr/ or something or mysite.trap17.com? You need to be more specific. As for the logo or images it would be in the following format: <img src="images/boat.gif" alt="Big Boat"> Thats a same, you can check out W3 Schools for HTML reference here. !--Change a File Name--! If you want to do that, you use the FTP Client or login to Cpanel --> File Manage --> WWW or Public_HTML --> Find the file(s) and click on the name. --> after that a menu will appear in the side view and you can click Rename. And you done. Hopefully that helped, as for the subdomain name, you need to expand on it, and whats your site link, so I can help you out and stuff.

I guess that is true. If I think green and blue look good on me, and someone thinks orange and pink look good, then its the way we both see the colors and how they look. Also dogs are color blind, but can see in the dark, and I don't know about cats. But as far as I can tell... humans call see everything, unless there is something that we don't know about? Also why do people in Europe say "colour" and not color? Same thing like "favourite?

As most of us have said and stuff there is no problem with being Goth or anything like that. I do however have a problem with the EMO (emmo) kids that cut there wrists and arms and beat the crap out of themselves because they are depressed and stuff. Whats the point with that? I mean its so stupid, yeah beat your self so you (whats the purpose)?But its like anything else, we have some kids at our school that are totally and they are perfectly fine with it, and I don't care. IF you don't bother me about it, I will leave you to do your own thing and stuff. But its like most other American sterotypes, if someone does not look like us or close to the sterotype then... we are all going to stare and look at them funny and stuff. But what about stuff in the UK and Europe? Do you guys have any Goths or really type of people? And whats the main sterotype over there? ...(Hope that made sense and stuff)

The arcade works and stuff except that its the ACP error I get. I can view the arcade but I cannot open the Arcade Menu from the ACP. And I have tried mutliple times to fix it, but nothing is working and I'm annoyed out of my mind...since its only Admin.php or Admin_Pages.php. Unless there is something else. And there were no edits to Admin_Functions.php so I don't know whats causing it. And tested some things and its definatly Admin_Pages.php.So I don't know what to do other than, get rid of it. Think you could look @ the file for me?

Yea here is my forumla: Now I think that kinda cool and stuff but... I know what you mean. Maybe if we could glance at the person for a second and the information would appear out of 1 eye or something on a greenish transparent screen that we could browse through some stuff, without having to stare at the top of there head and stuff for 10 mintues...looking @ what they can do... But I don't really want that to happen. Its something that could interfear with how we think and could happen for the worse. What happens if people start to hack the stuff, and make us commit murder or something. Then you have the world domination freak going...muh hahahaha attack XYZ country and I rule the world. Flashback... Well I was browsing Archive.org and figured what the heck... so I typed in Xisto and WOW. Would you believe what a long way we have come with the main page and stuff. Also the quality, if I had seen the main page back in 2001 or 2002 before July 25... it looked bad and looked like a crappy hosting. But like anything else over time it gets better and we improve on our mistakes. And thats what made Xisto.com the place it is today. And what was with that red spider web and stuff? If anybody has been here since the start, can you tell me if Archive.org is right and stuff. Well just thought I would share this little bit of information with everyone. Also can you explain that spider thingy and some of the other odd template stuff.

Ok I don't mind reading curse words and stuff, since I'm a high school student. But on the other hand it looks really un-professional and it made me turn down 2 hosting forums because of it. When all the members are going @%!$^@^^@$^ @$ ! %$!@# $!@# $!@# (i did that...not a filter ) and stuff like that and the filters are censoring everything. Then your like... "Spam Postings..No? - Whats this crap? - Who are these people? - I'm outa here..." thats what my responses where to some of those forums. It makes it look bab and then people have so self respect. My forum filter is so strick that it (######) does that to the word damn and fart too... it was a uploaded back that I got off Invisionize. I would rather see #####'s all over my forum that badwords. So then you can warn and get rid of the trouble makers. BuffaloHELP being an admin at two other places, I know exactly what you mean and stuff. Its funny how people get made at the little things like "filters" and stuff. But you are right... if my dad saw me comming here when I was 10 he would be confused... but see oh its a little (mega) forum. And if he was watching me read a post with curses all over it... he would make me get rid of the account and not go back there. B/C it would be a negative infulence to potential members and stuff.
