A Recent Siggy Of Mine..i Just Want It Rated Pleas Siggy
Hamtaro replied to Music's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I think it looks really nice. The colors and text go good together (Even though I'm not good at figuring out what colors go wll together, I still think they do). I give it a 10/10. (Plus, it'a a heck of a lot better than what I can do...I stink at making graphics). -
No, the include function works that way as well. I use it like that all the time, and haven't gotten a single error. I don't see any errors in that code, either. It could possibly be a problem in the rest of the file, I'm not sure, though.

I've got a 56k connection, but it usually connects at 53.4k, it's accelerated dial-up, so it occasionly gets accelerated to approx. 150k (Only on image/ web page transfers.. Everything else, I think, is normal speed. It sometimes accelerates faster than that!).

What's The Best Popup/banner You've Ever Seen?
Hamtaro replied to beeseven's topic in General Discussion
rejected said sorry for that. Besides, no image came up, it just said "user posted image" on the first post. I may have saw a good ad one time, but I can't remember where it was, or what it was about. There just aren't many good ads anymore (That I see). Both ads that you all posted was pretty funny! I just wish I could remember the information about that ad... -
The slow connection could be due to a high server load, repairing of the server, or many other problems. When I connect to that IP, it loads at normal speeds for me. However, I do have an accelerated dial-up connection. I think it usually is faster if you live in the same country.

Actually, from what I've seen, CSS is used with MOST professional sites. I can't really recall a site that I've ever been to (Except my site when I first started it) that doesn't have CSS in it.I'm still learning new CSS stuff. I've been doing CSS (At least half-way decently) for a little over a year now, and I continue to find new things.I prefer percentage positioning to pixel positioning. That way, the layout of the site can be relatively the same in each browser. (My site's positioning works the same in Firefox and IE.)Oh, this may be a little late, but nice tutorial. I learned some things in it that I didn't know about CSS.

I don't watch TV much anymore since my favorite show was cancelled. When I DO watch it, it's usually after school, or late at night on the weekends, and when I see an infomercial, I usually change the channel, or just turn off the tv. However, I don't think I hate them as much as others, probably because I usually just watch cartoons, and no infomercials come on that channel. Although, I have to admit, there's been a few (Can't think of what they were) that caught my attention for some odd reason, and I watched it.

CKY, you need to enter your user name and password every time you connect, unless you save your password, and if you have an XP, then even if you save your info, if you have your own account, no one could get access to your e-mail unless they knew your password.I downloaded Gmail Notifier I don't know how long ago...I like it quite a lot! If you don't have it, you should get it!

I'd probably ignore them...maybe. That is said WAY too much...I get sick of hearing it! It also means that they can't come up with their OWN comeback. Still, I don't really know how I'd respond, because I'm not usually told it, I just hear others say it.

Smile! How well can you spot a fake smile?
Hamtaro replied to snlildude87's topic in General Discussion
Hehehe...I didn't do well at all....8/20Worst posted score here....Hehe, I need to learn to tell the difference. -
I don't really know what to vote for...OpaQue's pretty cool (And provides us with greate FREE hosting), the hosting's GREAT, and everyone is very friendly and helpful here at the forums. It's all great! If I could decide what to vote for, I'd vote for sure!

Well, I've seen teachers like that, and some that aren't (Think they know everything)...Anyway, after thinking a little, I also think that probably never happened. I mean...the article was found on the internet, and it's REALLY easy to put false information on the internet. It could also be some sort of joke, or anything. It could...maybe... have happened, but it's not that likely. Now, if there were PROOF of it happening, then I'd be convinced, like I was before. I DO know of a few teachers at my school who MAY think that, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

I sometimes have difficulty posting, because I either don't know what to post about, or because I can't find an interesting topic, so I know how you feel. Maybe if you just continue looking, you'll find a place to post at...eventually. I think other people feel that way sometimes. Just try to create a topic of interest to you, that'll help some.

At my school, my Xisto site I can get to, but Xisto is blocked, but it's blocked just for "Message/Bulletin Boards". I don't know of any way to do that. However, we kinda "bypass" our proxy in a way at my school by using AltaVista's Babelfish service, and "translate" the page from some language other than English, to English. Graphics, and all that, won't show up, just text, and files that send out HTML output (Like PHP and Perl), no CSS. (Oh, and, by "we", I mean my friends, me, and a few other people). If

You could make your index page a PHP Script and use <?php include "Path to your xoops page"; ?> Or just an HTML redirect page: <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="1; URL=URL to xoops here"> The HTML one should go between the opening <head> and closing <head> tags. Change 1 to how many seconds you want it to redirect to that page. I think there are other ways that you could do that...I'm not sure. That should help. I hope I answered your question right.

Member Levels what are they and how do they work?
Hamtaro replied to lordofthecynics's topic in Web Hosting Support
Wow! That's quite a few member levels! I'm almost at 100 posts...I'm going to go for at least 150. I know I'll EVENTUALLY make it that high, but still. I'd like to get there sooner. I didn't know that there was a different level above Premium Member. -
Spellings Are Not Important. Our mind reads words as a whole.
Hamtaro replied to OpaQue's topic in General Discussion
I try to spell as good as I can, but I make typos. Spelling, at least while reading it, is not that important to me...and usually when I chat to people on instant messengers, they make typos similar to those mispelled above. They have the first and last letter in the right place, then accidentally mistype the rest. I wondered why I always read over those kinds of typos, until I saw that. -
If you can describe how you want it, I can give you the code for the one I made. Just so you know, it's kinda like a tag-board. If you want it, I'll give it to you, just tell me what field(s) you want (Like what type of information is to be entered).

Do You Think Popups Are A Bad Thing? www.bpsite.tk
Hamtaro replied to alexwhin's topic in Online Advertising
Pop-ups are pretty annoying, but that IE thing you're talking about isn't a pop-up...It's some sort of error in IE. If it weren't for pop-up blockers (Such as Firefox), I'd be really annoyed. Pop-ups are also a waste of money for the advertisers. Most people don't even click them, so why even bother placing a pop-up on your site?...Well, you still earn money if they pay you for pop-ups. Pop-unders are also a big pain, though... -
Yeah, probably. I don't see why they'd worry about it. It's not hard at all to keep your hosting credits up, and it certainly isn't hard to get enough posts to get hosting. I mean, some people apply for hosting the day they join! I don't post very often, but I still post. I also don't participate in some polls, so that's one reason...I don't know why, I just don't. I may participate sometime soon, though.

Yes, the host is localhost. You can use your cpanel username and password for MySQL. I'm not entirely sure about setting up users...I think it allows you to allow users to do only certain things to a database (Like INSERT, UPDATE, etc.).
-
Again No Databases? Are there any work on host?
Hamtaro replied to Someone's topic in Web Hosting Support
It appears there are too many connections on MySQL. The databases are NOT deleted. Give it some time, and it will all come back. -
Hmmm...doesn't seem like anyone here likes my favorite...I like the Pokemon games (GameCube and Gameboy). I've played a little Final Fantasy as well, and it seems like a fun game, but I like Pokemon better. I don't exactly have a favorite Pokemon RPG for the gameboy, but my favorite RPG for the GameCube is Pokemon Colosseum (and the only one I've played).
