It's also slow on my computer. It takes a while to open documents. I also didn't know it had a pdf maker, and all that...Maybe I should look at it more. Maybe if I do, I'll find even more stuff. Well, it is FREE, so don't expect too many features for it. I'd still rather use it than MS Word, though. I hate Word (Don't know why, I just do).

I'm 15. I started working on websites (Just HTML when I started...learned others later on) at either 12 or 13 years old (I can't quite remember). I work on my website as a hobby (Hopefully get a job making websites later on).

I definitely think Gmail is better! I also like Gmail's layout better, and the search, and a lot more. I've heard that Hotmail's been upgrading accounts to 250 MB, but mine's still at 2MB, and I've had my account for...about 3 years now. Plus, I get too much spam (So much that I have to set it to receive email from people on my contact list) I don't really use my hotmail account anymore, anyway. I only still have it so that I don't have to change email addresses for MSN Messenger.I'd say Hotmail is probably my least favorite email provider out there. I've had quite a few before.

Make Money With Google Adsense How to get the most money out of it
Hamtaro replied to whyme's topic in Business Forum
Cool! Thanks a lot for the tips! I'd use Google Adsense, BUT my site doesn't get enough hits...it wouldn't do me any good. However, if I had enough hits, I'd DEFINTELY use it, and would use those tips. They're very useful! -
On my cPanel, it also says I have 0 MySQL databases, yet it shows disk usage from them...When I attempt to view a PHP file that connects to a database, it says "Too many users...." I sure hope my databases weren't deleted...one of them was my IPB forum...

Reversing The Order Of Items In A Database How do you do it?
Hamtaro replied to Hamtaro's topic in Programming
Thanks a lot! That really helped! I had no idea that reversing the order was so si,mple! Also, thanks for showing me how to limit the data received from the dababase. That helped me out a lot! -
I have a chat PHP script, that I need a little help with. I'm wanting to use PHP/MySQL so that it will show the most recent message first. What it's doing, is showing the oldest message first, and newest message last. Is there something I can do to reverse the order of the messages? Thanks.(I know...I've had to ask for PHP help often, but I can't quite get a PHP book right now...sorry)

I never really thought about it, for some reason. It may be because most of the computers around where I live, and stay at, are 800*600. I think I may need to start considering them more...I also have noticed no one seems to come to my site on a version lower than IE 6 (I've never really thought about older versions of browsers either.). I may be able to make my site a little better by considering older browsers, and other screen resolutions...

Yeah, and I'm glad to know the EXACT number...iI was a little worried about how much time that we were allowed...sometimes my internet messes up, and I can't get on...(I can usually get on the next day, though).

I use Mozilla Firefox 1.0 and MSIE 6 (I just switched to Firefox, which appears to be better). Firefox really does appear to speed up my connection like some said it would. Plus, it appears to give me more screen space to view pages, unlike IE.

Firefox What do you think about this browser?
Hamtaro replied to vettefreak90's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I'm downloading it already. I was downloading it when I made that first post, but still, thanks. I really do hope it's as godd (If not better) than what other people's said about it. Oh, and I'm not afraid to download it because of viruses...I have an Anti-Virus software (Even without it, I wouldn't be worried). The thing that worries me is spyware... -
Firefox What do you think about this browser?
Hamtaro replied to vettefreak90's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I had no idea that Internet Explorer slowed down the connection...maybe that's why my connection is so slow. I'm downloading Firefox right now, and from what I've heard, it sounds like it's a really good browser! I sure hope it is...maybe my connection will be a little faster. -
New Hosting Credit System ! Is good or bad??????/
Hamtaro replied to solankyno1's topic in Web Hosting Support
I like the hosting credit system! It helps to keep better track of inactive members. Also, some spammers (not all) wouldn't go through the trouble of getting 300 characters in a post, so that stops the spammers that are lazy. The 300 character limit is a good idea. However, that's my opinion. People can have many different ones. -
Php Help: Mysql Warning Please help (again...sorry)
Hamtaro replied to Hamtaro's topic in Programming
I can't find it. I know what it's talking about, and the line is: mysql_query($Query); but the single quotes around the variables to write to the database are required. Or is something wrong with this, since it is referenced within mysql_query(): $Query = "INSERT INTO chatboard (UserName, IP, EMail, Message) values('$UserName', '$IP', '$EMail', '$Message')"; -
I've just made a PHP script that allows people to chat. It's similar to a tag-board (But not exactly). I'm getting the following warning with MySQL: Warning: Unexpected character in input: '' (ASCII=31) state=1 in /home/hamtaro/public_html/add_message.php on line 12 I looked in the file, and didn't find anything...So I thought I'd ask for help (again). Here's the code: <?php$UserName = $_POST['UserName'];$EMail = $_POST['EMail'];$Message = $_POST['Message'];$IP = $REMOTE_ADDR;$Query = "INSERT INTO chatboard (UserName, IP, EMail, Message) values('$UserName', '$IP', '$EMail', '$Message')";include "db_chat.php"; //Database connection filemysql_query($Query);mysql_close();include "chat.php";?> The weird thing is...this works the way it should...it adds to the database, and also reads it (chat.php), yet I still get that warning. Does anyone know why it's showing that?

What Is A T_string? Please help Im new at PHP Programming
Hamtaro replied to Hamtaro's topic in Programming
Ok, here's just the PHP code for the file. The rest is the page that displays the Thank-You page: <?php$message = "User Name: ". $_POST['UserName'] . "\nE-Mail Address: " .$_POST['EMail'] . "\nIP Address: ". $REMOTE_ADDR . "\nComments: \n" . $_POST['Comments'] . ";mail("myemail@email.com", "Feedback",$message);?> The mail function is the part where I'm getting the error. If there's supposed to e a semicolon in there, where does it go? -
I'm new at PHP, and I looked for a while on here, and found some stuff I was looking for about form processing, and sending E-Mail through PHP. However, the script I just created won't work. I get the following error: Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/hamtaro/public_html/send_feedback.php on line 9Exactly what is a T_STRING? If I need to post my code, I will.

You can remove a scrollbar by adding scrolling="no" to the <frame> tag that you don't want to scroll. However, that frame has more content than the size of the frame, so the scrollbar is there. You can still scroll in a page that doesn't have a scrollbar, by pressing and holding the left mouse button, and dragging down, but that could get annoying.

Website Security encryption/html function disabling etc.
Hamtaro replied to RGPHNX's topic in Programming
I just looked at that, and tried it. The way it encrypts is simple...However, you need to know the hexadecimal code to unencypt it. I wouldn't recommend using it, because some people know the hexadecimal values. I can remember space's code...that's all: %20. There's probably something better out there...I don't know. Also, that uses JavaScript to unencrypt the data. It won't work right on a browser that doesn't support JavaScript, or have it disabled. -
I've been tring to fix this problem since I've had hosting here at Xisto, but I can't do it, so I need your help. Two of my cgi scripts aren't working right. The SAME cgi script worked right on another host. All I did was change the location of my data files, and it messed up. I looked to see if the data files was right at least 10 times, but it would have given an error if it couldn't find the file. I'm getting an Error 500.The Error Log showed this message:Premature end of script headers: /home/hamtaro/public_html/cgi-bin/hamtaro_petition.cgiWhat does that mean? That same message came up on a text file once before...Could someone please help me with this problem?(If I have to post the CGI script code, I will.)

That's not it. Here's what happens:When I send an e-mail to it, I get a mail delivery failure message from the e-mail I used to send it.I changed my e-mail address for now. Anyway, the other two accounts can send and receive e-mail, but the main one can't receive it.

Yes, you are right. Anyway, I don't mormally use a browser's extra features. I just surf the internet, nothing more. Oh, and technically, AOL does count as a browser, because you do use it to surf the internet, right?
-
USUALLY, I use IE 6 (With extra security from SP2, and without it), but I occasionly use Netscape (Don't know which version). However, I don't know much about the differences between browsers, so I'm happy with just IE 6.
