  1. My main e-mail account with my site isn't working right... I can send e-mail from it, but I can't receive e-mail from it. Two accounts are with my site, and the second one (Non-Main) account can send AND receive. Could someone please tell me why this is happening?
  2. I'm glad Microsoft's trying so hard to prevent pirated XPs from downloading the upgrades, but still. There are some good hackers out there that could probably bypass that. Unfortunately, no matter what they do, some will be able to bypass it. It may lower the number of pirated versions, but it can't block all of them.

Even in regular HTML, <br/> is also correct. Many HTML tags that don't have a closing tag (like <img>) can also be used that way. Anyway, back on topic:I'm sorry, but I have no idea how I could help you...sorry!
  4. I don't want to learn PHP right now, and I know MySQL can be used with Perl. However, I do not know how to use it with Perl at all. I just would like to know how to use it, in a basic script for any purpose. I have a Perl book, but it only tells me how to use Perl with the Win32::ODBC Module. Could someone please give me a general description of how to use Perl with MySQL? Thanks in Advance.
  5. Which is better depends on your needs, and the type of scripts you want to create. I prefer CGI because it's more difficult for me (I don't know why, but I seem to like harder things if it's about computers...). Both can create unique pages, but each has it's own advantages. However, ASP probably will have most of CGI's best features later on. However, ASP is mainly for Windows (it is on others, but you don't see that much), so that's another reason I prefer CGI over ASP.
  6. Speakers may be magnetic, but they don't usually interfere with a monitor. You could try moving them away from the monitor, but I don't think that will help it out any. There could be something close to the monitor interfering with the screen that is not magnetic.
  7. Both of mine are also gone...Except on my cpanel, it shows the SQL disk usage still...And when I look at the server status...the one that failed is: eximstatsWhat is that? However, after I posted this, in cpanel, my number of databases isn't showing up, but I can now access my Invision Board....
  8. I already know how to manage the forums, I know about permission masks, how to assign permission masks, and all that, but it still doesn't work. The permission masks was the first thing I suspected as the problem, but it isn't it. Thanks for the link, though...I will continue to look at it, and if I don't have any answers, I'll let you know, Also, if you want to go to the forums and see for yourself, you can go to: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Oh, and, if it was working right, guests should also be able to see the forums
  9. Yeah, I do. This place is one of the nicest web hosts I've been to. The people here are also very nice, and you can also come here when you need help! I don't think there's a nicer, more well put together host out there! Xisto is a one-of-a-kind host, I think. I hope they continue this great hosting!
  10. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look at it whenever I can. I would have responded sooner, but I'm having some problems at home. Anyway, I've been trying to figure out a new layout. I've got the layout done, but I don't have a color scheme worked out. Also, what's a graphic chater?
  11. For a while now, my site has had low hits. It even had it before I moved here. It used to get about 100 a day (I'm not exaggerating either). Then it went to about 15 a day. Now, it's about 0-5 a day. Could someone please look at my site and help me out? I'd really appreciate it very much. My site gets so few hits now, that I can't get information from the few visitors it gets from the survey. The url to my site is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Btw, that's just an average amount. It's sometimes a few more than that. Please tell me some things that I can improve or take out. Thanks. (I'm going to try to add a few things that may help...but, I still need some suggestions)
  12. There's no way that I'd use up much of the space on my computer. My account's folder on it may be 1.80 something GB, but that's just because I have a lot of Music on my account, and a few other large files. 100 GB seems like to much to me (Even I don't have a HD with that much space), but I don't use my computer for much. Just to keep a backup of my website, and (When I can get it on the internet) chatting, and listening to music.
  13. I never said that a web host "sucks", but there are some that I don't like. Which, my current host (Hoping to soon be "Old Host") is ProHosting, which has had FTP trouble for about 3 weeks now, and they haven't posted anywhere on the site about it. (They do have, on your account page, that they are having trouble with the Web Utility, but they didn't say anything about the FTP.) I have to use Windows Explore to view the contents of my site. I also can't log in right with FTP (Windows Explorer, and other FTP clients). I have to type my user name and password in the address, which is fine, but Windows Explorer doesn't have enough FTP features. I would like to be able to use something other than Windows Explorer for uploading files. I'd also like to know what the deal with this problem is...Oh well, I'd might as well not complain. At least now I can access my files to move them if I need to.
  14. One of my hard drives has about 63 GB (I'm not on it now, so I don't know for sure how much.) I also have a few other hard drives that are old, so they don't hold much:Two 123 MB hard drives1 600 MB hard driveWhat's weird is that one of those 123 MB hard drives was a 2.99 GB hard drive that somehow was lowered. I don't use those 3 hard drives due to the low space.
  15. The ONLY good thing about GeoCities, is that the ad on the page can be closed. (At least it could the last time I checked). It still has pop-ups on it, though...which I hate. Oh, and that was a pretty good thought...even though it's probably not why they'd want to do it. I'd say it's because they don't want to spend money on free accounts.
  16. I've got a question that I'd like to ask:What's the WORST web host you've ever used? Please give the URL (If you can), and explain why.Honestly, I'm not sure of the worst...I did use AngelFire for file storage, then they disabled direct linking, so that is one of the worsts for me... It's more of a tie with me. Between AngelFire and GeoCities. I don't like GeoCities (which I've said this before) because it offers so little bandwith, and other reasons.
  17. Honestly, I have no idea what to expect in the game. I only know what my uncle told me about what they're doing in the game. I just wish that I was a better Halo fan, then I could answer that a little better. Oh well, Halo's fun, so I don't care if I'm a big fan or not. Still...it seems like Halo has a TON of fans...I'm not complaining, though.
  18. I like Xbox better. It has more features, graphics, you don't HAVE to buy memory cards to save games, you can copy your music CDs to it. It just seems to have more features. It also has better games, I think. Anyway, which is better is a matter of opinion. I like both, I just prefer Xbox.
  19. Well, there's more games that I want for Gamecube than for Xbox...and ALL the computer hardware that I need is expensive...as for Hamtaro stuff...That's hard to find around where I'm at! Halo 2 would probably make it worthwhile to get an Xbox. Oh, great...a tremendous amount of pressure about what to get! *sigh* This is gonna be hard to decide! I'd love to get Halo 2, though.
  20. Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion...I think it looks cool, but I still wouldn't want to get it...'cause it's probably not worth it to me. I'm not interested in viewing video, and I listen to MP3s on my comp. I'm not a big music fan, and I wouldn't need the video part, so that's why I wouldn't get it.
  21. I also have a free account with ProHosting...and can't upload. I'm trying to get enought posts here so that I can move my site. I'm getting a little worried that ProHosting may stop free accounts. So, I am trying as hard as possible. I don't usually say too much on other people's forums, but I seem to like it here, so it may not be as hard as I thought. Xisto seems to have a lot of great features!
  22. I hate GeoCities, but that's because they apparantly don't offer much bandwith. When I hosted there, my site was constantly down. And I'd have to wait for about an hour for it to come back up, then 30 minutes to 2 hours later, it was down again. I didn't keep my site there for too long, since it WAS at one time getting a lot of visitors.
  23. Well, I'm not entirely sure that'll work...Plus, there's all sorts of things I'm wanting...Hamtaro stuff, Halo 2, Xbox, GameCube, computer hardware, there's a whole lot! So, it would be hard for me to decide exactly what I'd want...I wish I could get an Xbox, but I probably won't be able to. I may, but probably not.
  24. I'd like to buy Halo 2, but there's a problem: I don't have an Xbox! I like Halo, and my uncle may buy it, so I may get to play it. Halo 2 is supposed to come out a day after my birthday, which I think is kinda weird...in my opinion. Great...if only I had an Xbox. Oh well...
  25. I think that MSN is better, but I do like Yahoo and AIM's features. Nearly all of my friends are on MSN, so it's the one I use the most. Plus, it's the messenger that;s on all the computers I use. The reason I have an AIM and a Yahoo! account is that when my computer at home was online, I had those messengers. However, on the computers I use to go on the internet, I can't download AIM and Yahoo, and really don't have the need to.
