Pandora is definitely a cool spinoff from the music genome project, but as with any technology, it isn't perfect yet. I'm sure that later on they'll add more terms analyze a song by or allow more fuzzy logic range so that you get songs that are slightly farther away from what you put in but still might appeal to you. I'm also hopin that they add more and more obscure bands and even songs from upstart bands and musicians. Here's hoping.

I'm getting the idea that ontologies mean a huge database of information that's been assorted into different groups. I get the visual pictureof a directory listing (i.e. http://www.dmoz.org/) where you arrange websites for example into directories and into certain groups into an organized and heirarchical manner. This, ideally, should allow a user to arrange, compile and find back the data that he wants and needs.This is a classical way of arranging data. Nowadays, with fast searching technology, i'm more in avour of a flat-style database. This means a single folder with everything inside it. This database can then be searched using relevant terms so that you can get different results everytime you launch a different search. This eliminates having to look through many folders before you come to the one that you want and also eliminates redundancies.What are redundancies? Well, imagine if your file fits two categories. Do you put them in both? If you do, then the second file is redundant because it takes up and wastes space. With a flat database design, you eliminate any and all redundancies.So, flat dtabase over ontologies? I think so.

April fools is overrated. After all, if people KNOW that someone's gonna play a prank on them, then it's not really a prank anymore is it? Example, the time my friend suddenly ran around the corner, saw me and stopped, then said to me while panting heavily, "There's been an accident on the main road! 3 kids got run over by a car! It kinda defeats the purpose when you're EXPECTING pranks to be played on you. I've found that it's better to spread the pranks out throughout the year when people aren't expecting it. Of course, i don't play pranks as evil as the one my friend played on me. That was trying to play wih my guilt and conscience. I do more of the type that mildly humiliate and embarass the prank victims. Like putting glue on their coke can so that it sticks to their hand. But i never use super glue or anything dumb like that. Do you know that it REALLLLLLYYY hurts to have your skin ripped off? Yeah, it's true. Hurts even worse than having your hair ripped off.Now, don't get any ideas from what i wrote here. DO NOT use super glue on a coke can and give it to your friend. I'm pretty sure that it's actually illegal. So my point is that you shouldnt have a special day for pranks. It defeats the whole purpose...

I saw this music vid. Twas awesome. A very original concept too. The video shows himself doing things (work/play/hang out) in 3 or 4 countries. At every country, he sings in that country's mother tongue. You won't understand all of it, but the music's catchy enough.

A week ago, some fishermen found the remains of some 6 foot tall creature with an extremely wierd skull by the river. This happened around Kampung Pengkalan Sungai Udang if im not mistaken. But later on, they found out that it was just a crocodile sekleton without a skull. Because the skull was missing, the fishermen had put its pelvic bone in place of its skull, so they had gotten an extremely "interesting" skeleton. Its all good now though.It just goes to show that not all "evidence" is really proof. But i keep my mind open. Ciao

Heyya. Three things that you might mean in your message and how to overcome these problems.1. Do you mean that you did System Restore? Coz system restore shouldn't mess up ur music n pictures. What you can do is run a search and look for those files. They should still be there.2. Even if you mean that you actually formatted it (an over reaction i believe, considering your problem) you can still find tons of programs around that can look for the files that you formatted. Usually, formatting just means that the computer deleted the indexing of the files, and not the actual data itself. It's akin to the computer having a map that shows where every file is. When you do a format, you just lose the map, and not the actual buildings. If you use certain programs, you should be able to get most of the buildings (data) back again (except for the ones you wrote over...).3. Anyways, if you havent done either, try running the computer in safe mode and turn on registry mechanic again. If it made a back-up, then you should be able to use the back-up to fix everything perfectly again. Hope this helps.

I can definitely see what you mean. I have to confess that this is how i view most gays and bi's. As people who are only in it for sex. I'm not sure where this view came from, tv, paper or internet, but that's how i've viewed gays and bi's for the past 3-4 years. It is VERY sad that these kids (emphasis on kids) are flaunting something which the barely understand. I'm not sure if their expression shows a faster maturity in this age or if it shows their complete and utter naivete. Personally, I've never noticed any problems whe using firefox to view gogle ads. Are the ads not being shown properly on firefox now?In the many sites that I've gone to, I used Firefox 1.0.3 (i think) and now firefox 1.5 in 1024x768 resolution with java and activeX disabled (but since most google ads are text anyway, it doesnt make much difference). So far, I have NOT seen anything wrong with the ads on ANy of the pages i've seen. Anyone care to elaborate this supposed problem? Thx in advance.

Well, the pros I see from leaving ur pc on is that:1. You can run intensive programs while you sleep like SETI@home and other parallel dispersed programs.2. It saves a ton of time on boot-up. My pc takes a whole minute to boot-up and I know some that take 2 and a half minutes to get to the user profile screen!3. It actually saves on computer life. Turning on electronic equipment means that a surge of energy flows through when you start it. This short spike in voltage wears down the electronic components. They've fixed this in modern day electronics to some degree, but there's still an effect there.The cons are, of course:1. The noise of your PC on all night and all day.2. The extreme heat generated from your CPU, Graphics card, Power Supply Unit (PSU) and Hard Drive. This heat may cause your electronics to have a shorter life (if it exceeds a certain temperature).The simple steps you can take against these 2 problems are:1. If you're not gonna run many programs (i.e. just downloading something), you can adjust your computer so that your fans and hard drive spin at a lower rate (less noise).2. If you're running a lot of programs, then your PC will probably heat up. So you should make sure that you have enough internal cooling (either using fans or heatsinks) or by pointing a fan towards that computer. It also works to put the computer in an airconditioned room.3. If you're NOT downloading anything, just disconnect from the internet. The best way that I advise is to just pull the phoneline or LAN cable out of your PC. You can just stick it back in the next morning when you want to surf again.4. If you are downloading things. Damn, THG always has the coolest mods. If you're wondering why the liquid doesn't short it out, it's because oil is a great insulator. Electricity doesn't flow in any type of oil very well, so it effectively works as a "liquid-rubber" material. At the same time, it's property as a liquid means that the liquid will float to the top when heated. This creates a beautiful flow where the heated oil flows to the top and releases the heat. This makes an empty space at the bottom which is replaced by the oil from the top which is already cool. This cycle of warm to top and cool to bottom contnues while the PC runs.Actually, air works in exactly the same way but air can only carry a small amount of heat at a time which means that the CPU, graphics card and whatnot will cool down slower. Oil (a liquid) can carry that much more heat away from these heat-producing components.Hope that helps.

Here are a few distinguishing features of most warez sites: -These sites with warez usually have multiple pop-ups and huge banner ads. -They also have many links to porn sites. -They write "Warez" in huge, bold, flashing writing. -Keywords on these sites include: serial, crack, keygen, warez, gamez, porn, hentai On legal sites, you will usually see stress placed on words like freeware, open-source, GNU and GPL. Yeah, you do have to invest money. They only pay you like 1% of the money you invest. So if you put in 20k, THEN you get 200 bucks a day.
