  1. thanks for the greetings imtay! ^_^

  2. did i say that cracking your neck causes arthritis? i actually said that cracking your neck is NOT GOOD. i just said that moms probably use that or whoever to scare people into doing such stuff. the main point is IT IS HARMFUL and not whether it could cause you arthritis or whatever myth there is. that is why i'm looking for proof that it's not harmful.
  3. i go to php.net for my sources. hands down for that website. although about the apache server, there are preconfigured servers that are available over the internet for download, like what the other people above me have mentioned. if you're one of those hardcore programmers, it's fine to install mysql, apache and php separately. i install them separately so it would be more convenient for me to update (especially php), although it's really hard. it usually takes me about half a day trying to find answers to some of the problems (i happen to encounter problems regarding installing php, since you have to have the dll's for php to connect to mysql database). i also use php myadmin for the database so i could see the table rows properly. i can use the console to manipulate the database, but i can't see the tables properly so i just use phpmyadmin for that.
  4. i personally prefer dogs. but i like cats too. it's just that i've had dogs since i was young. right now i don't want to own any pets (although we have dogs and cats here at home), because i feel like i won't be a good owner. my pet dog actually died due to an epidemic (i called that epidemic because the mother dog, and two of her pups died in less than a week due to some sickness that i can't even determine the cause). sure i feed the animals and try to play with them at times, but i really couldn't get myself into "owning" them.
  5. lol i don't resist it. i was just trying to stand by this suggestion of mine huh? i was thinking the draft posts look more like a draft post in blogs and all. i don't really see the point of not showing it to the poster who made the topic and "saved it as draft" that's why i was thinking maybe another table could be added on the database where the draft can be placed. in that way, it's still tied to the thread but the post count is not affected since it's only in "draft" stage. i guess it goes down to preference. i could use the personal notepad, but as stubborn as i am i don't think i'll get myself into the habit of using that feature.
  6. my brother got bit by our neighbor's puppy out of defense. the puppy went to our house and got bit by our dog and to attempt to save the puppy, my brother came near to the puppy and got bit instead. the puppy died and was brought for rabies testing while my brother got some rabies shots.i remember my neighbor got bit by our dog (a long time ago). aside from rabies shots, she had garlic rubbed on the wound. they say it would help with the bite, i don't know if it's true though. but my neighbor's still alive and healthy thank goodness or else we'll be sued by her family.
  7. that's great! so technically we have the same birthdate cool. you could give her a gift, something that she would really like, not just something nice. that would mean a lot to her. good luck!
  8. so if you set this up and you should benefit from it, then every member in trap should make this one as well. you shouldn't compare trap with the lotto companies.
  9. lol is this allowed? i was thinking what happens to the 170 creds... hmmm you're sneaky. i was hoping you could give out all of the creds as prize and not take the rest for yourself. like 120 for the 1st place, 80 for the second and 50 for the third. you're not supposed to benefit from it.
  10. hmm... i like it. although you could have chosen not to resize the image of the lead singer (sorry i forgot his name ). the quality of his image was a bit lost. i could actually see the pixels when it loaded. but i still like the background.
  11. hello azriel! (lol, remove the z and you get my name! ) we're happy you've decided to stay here at trap.it doesn't matter if you're 17 and you already have a daughter, as long as you take care of her properly and she'll be fine. you may want to share us pics of her if you want. about your talent, well you could apply to be a part of the trap graphics crew and post your works so people can comment about it.again, enjoy your stay!
  12. welcome to trap tikiprincess! the forum has a lot of things to offer, from web programming to just talking about life in general. you could search the forum for anything you might want to know and in the case you don't find one, you could post a new topic yourself. just make sure you follow the posting rules and you'll be fine.with regards to hosting, upon getting approved of your hosting application, you could gather credits for two weeks (14 days) plus some so you could be sure your hosting account won't be deleted when you're away. it's no problem really. you still have half a year to gather credits, apply for hosting account, make your website and gather more credits before you travel to the philippines next year.so enjoy your stay at trap oh and by the way, i'm from the philippines.
  13. i use radio blog on my website. go to radioblogclub.com and you can download the application (it's less then 2mb) i think. the application changes the mp3 files and reformats it to a file that is smaller in size (some quality of the music is reduced, but it's okay, it gives you that "radio" sound). this file can only be read by their player which you put on your website. the most current version is version 3 but it's only beta version, but it's still like a stable version 2. the only difference is the design. you could also customize the skin of the player to fit the design of your website. just edit the css part of the application and you're done. the only problem with this is you need a hosting space to host your files. i suggest you apply here at trap so you could get yourself a hosting account.the installation is easy, they have included a readme on the application so you could install the application with ease. if you encounter any problems, you could go to their forums and see if you could get your answers there. good luck!
  14. lol i guess people are so obsessed with the vista version. and if you're into eye candies, i think this would be a good thing for you. although i like this look and i appreciate the poster posting this topic, but i think i'm fine with the normal xp theme.
  15. Game: Harvest Moon, Friends of Mineral Town and More Friends of Mineral Town Mode: Single player Type: Farm Simulation, RPG Platform: Game Boy Advance Released: (Friends of Mineral Town) April 18, 2003, Japan; November 17, 2003, America; (More Friends of Mineral Town) December 12, 2003, Japan; July 26, 2003, America These two games are included in the Harvest Moon series, first released in the SNES platform by Natsume. It is a simulation game that integrates some aspects of farming raising animals and planting crops for money and of course courtship and getting a wife. These two games differ on the main characters, Friends of Mineral Town has a boy main character and More Friends of Mineral Town has a girl as the lead, but the main idea of the game is similar. Gameplay: 7/10, The game doesn't really have an ending (well unless you call getting married an ending) and you basically have a routine for the rest of the game. Difficulty: 5/10, Starts off as difficult since you have low stamina bar and you're struggling to earn money. Gets easier later on... in fact it gets a bit boring. Sound: 5.5/10 The starting scenes of the two games are different. In FOMT, the boy visits the abandoned farm and gets caught by the mayor of the town, Thomas. He tells you that the owner of the farm died a few months ago and that he his will was that he gives the farm to your character, <insert name here>. Thomas asks how you met the old man and you'll be shown a flashback. Your character agrees to take care of the farm and the story continues... In MFOMT, the girl comes home from work, tired. She is bored with her job and seeks excitement in life. She sees an advertisement on the paper about a farm that is being sold, then daydreams of "A Simple Life" in the farm. She calls the seller and the next day she's off to the farm. To her surprise the farm wasn't how it looked in the ads. Thomas, the mayor tells her she's been tricked and eventually pisses her off. Your character lashes out her hammer and whips it to the poor guy. The latter says sorry but you can continue whipping him again with the farm tools. Once you're done letting out all the excess baggage, Thomas offers you to stay and make the farm her own. You character agrees and the story continues.... You start off with a very filthy farm, you have to clean it using your hammer, sickle and axe to clear out stones, weeds and wood on the area. Your farming tools include the hoe and the watering can for tilling the soil and watering your crops. You have to till your soil first before you could throw seeds at it and water it. These tools can be upgraded in the blacksmith so it could help you more with your farm. Of course, your farm is not complete without animals, you could buy them from the local shops or you could breed them using a magic potion (funny, they really kept this game so clean, so sex, violence, not even in animals... they're vegetarians!!! ). You'll be given a horse to raise. You have to raise their affection so they could produce better products (a high-affection chicken can give you gold eggs which would sell more). Ignore them, leave them out in the rain and they'll get sick. The crops that are available for planting depend on the season. There are crops that do not grow back once they're picked (like carrots), you have to plant them again the same day you harvested them. Other crops don't require replanting, you can just water them after harvesting. Crops that take a lot of time before they fully grow costs higher than other crops. You have to plant them on the day that you could get the best profit from. Other side quests in this game consists of attending festivals, meeting your neighbors and meeting your beloved bachellorettes where you could choose your future wife. You have to raise their affection by giving them gifts on their birthdays and talking to them a lot. Be careful though because you have rivals with those ladies. You would also encounter elves in the town which can help you with various farming tasks. Raise their affection and you could become friends and they will do anything you ask (sounds like bribery to me ). The game is fun at the start, where the difficulty is high. You have to gather a lot of items to help you with your farm. The first year could be rough, and you also have to battle the forces of nature in this game. But later on, you'll realize that the focus shifts from taking care of your farm to finding a mate whom you'll marry later on. Then the game declines and becomes a bit boring at the end. If you have A LOT of time in your hands, you might want to try this out. I liked it because of the farming aspect (and maintaining your farm) and not because of the sidequests (getting married). It is good clean fun for your kids and the kids at heart.
  16. that's the main idea of advertising. using a popular celebrity as an endorser for their products is one of the best tactics in advertisements. it's like "joining the bandwagon", if you find out your favorite artist uses that product, and you adore that artist so much, you'd buy anything they endorse. lol, just like what i said earlier... the reason for buying the product isn't really because they want a cure to their problems, but because they know their favorite artist uses it (which isn't always the case), and since they have this beautiful skin that may or may not be a product of facial treatment centers (or they probably don't have any skin problems at all), it gives you the idea that the product would have worked. i personally would want to see a celebrity endorse a product they have used before and actually did encounter real results. i remember we used to have a lot of whitening products released in our country (i know, filipinas and filipinos as well are so obsessed with white skin, considering we're in the tropics). it's quite ironic that most people in our country wants to be white, while other white people wants to be tanned. it's a funny thing really. anyway, back to the whitening products, i see a lot of commercials that feature women who use the products. for some reason i really couldn't believe that it would give those results. it's funny because i thought they were just adjusting the light so the lady would look lighter if they actually did a test and use the product on a dark-skinned girl and she became whiter after a few weeks or months or so. it's sad that most people in our country think having a dark skin is not "in" and they will look at you with disgust. people have this preconceived notion that dark skinned people are dirty, which is quite sad. my skin is from brown to slightly darker shade and i'm fine with it. anyway, back to the topic i've used a similar concoction using clyndamycin. my nurse cousin actually told me about it. you have to buy a capsule or tablet (then you have to pound it to make it into powder form) of clyndamycin (it's a generic name, i think). buy a skin cleanser, i use a local product called eskinol (just the classic one) and mix the powder from the capsule. you have to wash your face using a mild soap, then use the clyndamycin solution. then use a toner and a moisturizer. i actually didn't have any pimples when i used this. i remember when i went to the dermatologist, she gave me a set of facial products she made herself. it was an alpha-beta lotion (don't know why it's called like that) for treating the pimples, a vitamin e cream to help the skin on the face rejuvenate, and a clyndamycin solution, only she used distilled water instead of a cleanser. it did help me lose those pimples.
  17. i use fireftp, an extension for the firefox mozilla browser. it works well and easy to use. i don't know about pausing your transfer, but i think it shows information like the percent upload, and you can cancel your download by aborting it.
  18. my favorite car is the volkswagen beetle, specifically colored lemon yellow. lol i know, why lemon yellow, you ask? well i like the color, and it's refreshing to the eyes. and besides others are so into reds blues blacks, which is so boring, that's why i chose that color.
  19. well there are some ways to prevent the stiffness. like what i've said in my first reply, you could do neck exercises to help strengthen your neck muscles, one of which is just by rotating your head in circles, clockwise and counter-clockwise. this not only strengthens your muscles on the neck, it also relaxes you. but of course you have to control yourself so you wouldn't have the urge to crack your neck. the relief cause by cracking your neck is temporary and your neck would feel stiff again and you would want to crack your neck again, the cycle continues and it becomes a habit. just try to control yourself and lessen the habit. do more of the exercise and you'll be fine. you'll realize later you don't crack your neck anymore.
  20. it's destiny! you didn't find us by mistake. the great beings led you to us. lol just kidding. well i hope you would enjoy your stay. read the rules and stay out of trouble.
  21. the reason why some people don't want to talk about stuff like autism is because it's a very sensitive subject and families with autistic children might get offended easily. and it's sad because these kids are usually the subject of scrutiny among its peers. they get laughed and and teased with mental retardation, which is so unfair since it's not their fault that they acquired such disability.i have a distant cousin who is autistic. i think he's already reaching highschool now. i haven't seen him in a while since i haven't gone to any of our clan reunions. when he was a kid he was so energetic and he and his other cousins would run around the place and play.i think they should be treated the same way as other kids and they should get all the love they need so they could grow up well despite the condition.
  22. that's a good point. but then again, i guess it comes down to personal preference. why wouldn't it be visible? it's my draft and i think i have EVERY right to see it. and don't you think as a change in the forum, it would be added to your profile, similar to the personal messenger? once you write a reply on a topic, you have the option to save it for later, then at the my controls page, the list of drafts could be placed there, including a link to the original thread. so when you click the link, the draft is loaded to the editor, and it would appear as if you're just writing it the first time. not really. since if you try to write a topic, it will only reflect to the database once you've clicked the publish button, so the post number actually just increments once you've posted it already. a new table could be added to the database, with the forum number, thread number, title, and the body of the posts (and other relevant attributes). so instead of inserting a new row in the post table, it would insert to a new table, let's say, named "drafts". in this way, the post number wouldn't be affected by the sudden "change of heart". you're still looking at it in the view of a regular post/thread, that is always moderated by mods and admins. the drafts that you make are yours to tweak and the mods and admins have no way in interfering with it, nor they have the chance to modify it. like i said, it's a draft, it's placed in your personal area, and not somewhere in the forum any mod can access it UNTIL it is published. i wonder how many members "actually" use that notepad. exactly what i was saying. you read my mind, sylenzed.
  23. oh yeah right right. i forgot that one. i actually didn't realize the purpose of that until you mentioned it but then again, what happens if you have multiple posts? cutting the text from the personal note pad, then looking up the forum where your topic should be posted, and publishing it takes a lot of steps, don't you think? compared to posting it up and clicking the "save as draft" button. surely that would be a lot convenient.
  24. i remember when i was in grade school, i got my very first chain letter. the internet hasn't reached our country yet back then, so i got an envelope that was passed in our room. one of my classmates passed me the envelope with the letter inside. when i opened the mail, most of my classmates backed off as if i was holding a bomb or something. naive as i was, i was totally into the story written in the letter and at the end of it, it was asking for a specific coin amount then i have to pass the letter again. later i realized it was just some prank. there were some letters made in highschool too, but people were smarter so not everyone really got into it.i remember reading stuff about wicca and good magick. it said that chain letters from emails that ask you to pass the letter so you would be rid of the curse is a way of spreading negative energy. it's not actually helping you to acquire good luck, but instead, it is giving you the opposite and traumatizing you (some people can be totally affected by the story included in the mail) and passing that to other people.i used to read chain mails before but when i got alarmed about the news of viruses being spread through email, i didn't open forwarded mails anymore, except mails that come from people i know. right now i don't open them at all because i'm too tired to open the mails.
