Your Dream Food! Your dream food, we all have one.
arnz replied to wacky_stu's topic in General Discussion
I dont mind KFC, but find fair too oily to have it that often. Other similar reasons go for many fast food joints in general, dont mind em, but not a regular taker of em. But then again, I'm not really a big fan of McSlops, McDs, McCraps, or whatever people call em those days. -
I'd had to say that the older free hosts over the years ie Geocities, tripod, freeservers, etc has indeed gone downhill to an extent where they are now forcing banners and popups on their sites.Where theres a downside, better providers such as Xisto come along with more decent "premium-level" features and a fairer system to "earn" the privilege to free "premium" hosting with all the necessary extras such as ftp, sql, sub-domains and so forth. Keep up the good work Xisto

I'd be interest to have a look at it and see how it compares to either the earlier versions of IPB, or InvisionFree PB and InvisionPlus type boards going around on the internet.

I'd to like if theres anyone in England, NZ, or Australia here that follow the Rugby League. I mainly watch the NRL (National Rugby League), and have been following the Manly Seaeagles since the early 90s. It's finals time down here, and since my team has been knocked out. I've still been watching the other teams. The Brisbane Broncos was the first through to the GF by defeating Cantebury-Bankstown Bulldogs. The Broncos will be going to play the winner out of St George-Illawarra Dragons and the Melbourne Storm. Either way, as a neutral supporter (now that Manly has been knocked out of the series) the two teams on GF day should put out a good match.

I'd say it depends on the quality of work, I've sen some whip up really professional-like designs and ask for around 1k-3k per job. Also, as per websites (depending if its the front-end/back-end) also pretty much varies as well (website space, registration, so forth.. then the time taken to build the site ie layout, graphics, etc).

If There Really Is A God, He Is Trying To Kill Us Off!
arnz replied to squeaky's topic in General Discussion
There are many alternatives to whether a "god" exists or not. Considering the many stories heard from various religions such as after-life, or a huge war (ie an armageddon-like war) leaving the good guys and so forth. But, whether a god is trying to kill us off. I'll stay on the fence for that one. But people passing away is pretty much a everyday occurence, whether if it effects only a small group, or even the whole world. -
I used Nortons, McAfee and many retail versions in my time, while they are very reliable. They are also very steep to get if you decide to buy them legally. In my experience of using Anti-virus scanners and spyware removers, I find that the free AVG + Ad-aware SE Plus combo is the best, considering both do regular updates while at the same time track down viruses of any type (trojans, etc), and Ad-aware looks for any trojan-like spyware and malware.

In relation to ol' President Bush, I remember sometime ago that his team tried to register "bushsucks.com", "gwbushsucks" and so forth and re-directed the DNS of the potential anti-bush sites to his official site.

I read through the interesting topics, post my replies, and then go off and do whatever for the rest of the day/night. I joined sometime ago, yet I only average somewhere about just under 1 post a day.Spamming doesnt really help, but posting replies to topics you know, or to help someone with a query, or to be involved in a debatable topic really helps keep the post count healthy (and the quota required to keep your website up and running )

Starting off, to be quite honest, I'm so sick to death about hearing about terrorist attacks occuring overseas. For example, a recent one was reported on tv that authorities had arrested 20 muslims. Before some people go on about how this religion is bad, and what they are doing is wrong, and so forth, pretty much every religion has their type of weirdos and crackheads. In many cases, religion is not what fuels the fire, its those that are really greedy within the ranks, you got hitler and his dislike for jews, the czaars in Russia, and so forth. It seems that many religions (although I know this isnt the case with the majority in most religions) have their people that want 'control, power and money'. Some people have stated elsewhere that in the end, its all about some humans "being greedy" and having to do whatever it takes to get what they need.To be honest, I'm a non-practising catholic, although I have asked myself many times "does religion really exist?".What are your thoughts?

Indeed, I know a few people and mates in their early 20s that start to wind down those days. As a result some of the oldies in my area brought up the theory is that today's youngsters getting too soft on the drink.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/5338118.stm I find it wrong for people to do that for some reasons. Sure those did may have done it may possibly be grieving over Irwin's death, but doing that wont be avenging his death at all. It's a shame that animal cruelty still occurs in some cases. I dont understand it at all, as that goes against Irwin's message of "animal conservation".
-
Both went down doing what they loved. Also I namely admired Brock for his sporting achievements on the track, and did dominate Bathurst (Australia's premier V8 race). But for some reason, Irwin's death affected me more considering Irwin was a true family man.But to both of them, RIP.

I namely drink in moderation those days, although drinking as in happy-go-tipsy-smashed as-wasted drunk are well behind me. Must be my age, and I'm only in my early 20s.

Depends in very many cases. If its the loss of some luxuries, well it depends. Giving up the internet for being a millionaire, probably not, considering its slowly becoming a resouce. But its give up cable tv, the pool, maybe.. Giving up air-conditioning (although I dont have it right now where i live) would be a borderline case. But if its to go on reality shows and so forth. Well it depends on what type of show it is, if its to make a complete $#@#E out of yourself or sitting in a house all day (ie Big Brother), in that case probably not. But if its challenges such as the Amazing Race, then perhaps.

This is very much a ongoing debate. Of course, there are some drugs that may be of no benefit at all, and then there are those that are "medical" ie 'headache' tablets and so forth. The ones that are already illegal isnt really of much benefit considering that it could waste a persons life big time, and would defnitely chip away an addicted persons body. If all drugs were to be legalized, it would be much more chaotic then it is. To the one that suggested a tax should it be legalised, its not going to make much of a difference, thus unfortunately, the 'black market' would probably still be trading regardless in that "taxing" scenario. Personally though, I'd keep it as is (keep the illegal ones,.. illegal). Changing it would make it a lot more chaotic than it is now.

I would try to ask for whoever lost it, but as some said, it is hard to claim the owner of a particular amount of cash, considering someone can come up and try to "claim" that million. But if no-one claimed it, I'd prolly bank it, then buy myself a unit nearby the CBD, then invest some money into interest accounts (ie term deposits, or so forth).

RIP Steve, even though as an Australian, wasnt a fan of his antics on TV and was embarrased the questions that some americans stereo-typed us as (no-offense to americans in general) Some of them thought we all spoke like that. But focusing on his positives, He did donate money to and was a active animal conservationist. He was also a good family man, and when he walked down the street and/or went out to surf, this being said since I live nearby his local area, he was a good person to talk to.

I thought i'll start a thread in general about politicians whether if they really are legends, or just complete knobs.I'll admit that while politicians can really give me the %$#ts, (ie wasting taxpayer money on gardens, TVs, etc). Unfortunately, I dont think that any of us are in the position to tell them what to do (besides from the rights to free speech-protest, voting them out at the elections, and so forth.. which ironically, our PM down under, little Johnny Howard.. manages to win election after election. Comments like "Johnny howard is so far up bush's *bottom* and is bush's puppet, etc" doesnt really prove anything and is pretty much pointless.Especially with the 9/11 situation, bali bombings and so forth. Even if the aussies pull out of the war on terror, etc.. Unfortunately, there will still be some probs.. for example, if a man of middle-eastern appearances sits next to you on plane, a few may feel comfortable, while they will be some people that will definitely not. But with the war and so forth, in most cases, the parties involved dont really pull out untill the job is done, whether if some may debate a earlier pullout. I'm open with many cultures, and pretty accept everything despite the cultures of some religions. But things cant change instantly (ie like a complete withdrawal from the middle east and expecting things to be okay), and will not likely to change for a while.Unfortunately there are reasons behind the recent wars and so forth, even if its not fully understood, or whether some may think its right or wrong. But when you ask a particular group to "go get %$#%$# or rott in hell". All parties may be as bad as each other, and no-one may be angels (ie the American soldiers rape situation, etc).

I do on occasions on the many forums I regularly visit (and the few I mod), but when I write out long essays/statements/replies to debates, I tend not to use it as much. But yeah, there are the odd chatty threads in other forums which tend to use emotes a lot, but I tend to stay out of then considering the post-w^%ring nature. Although its a good thing that many forums tend to have the no-post-count setting enforced to some chatty-like forums.

Has to come still at some point, most forums would have members that would have a look, and never come back again. Its a fact in pretty much all forums, whether successful or not, commercial or private. But onto the topic, I'd say that Xisto will break the record at some point as traffic and hosting grows.I have to agree it takes ages to make a forum become active. For example, I'm a moderator at a InvisionFree based Australian Sports forum, and it took ages for the forum to become active (It went from peaking at 10-20 members a few months ago, to around a peak at 40-50 members on most nights now). It took hard work through promotion and the regs posting regularly.

Having sometimes finished work and/or uni very late, I sometimes check out whats on late night TV, but as of late all the stations down here, have rather pretty lame late night quiz phone-in shows where you can make a quick $100-$500 (with the occasional $1000 question or so). But unfortunately, this eliminates some good american shows such as late night futurama, jay leno, david letterman, scrubs, alias, family guy, and so forth. Ok, maybe the odd late night movie may be on, but usually one from way back. Seriously I'd be asking, would u stay up to watch those quiz shows just to make a quickly couple of a hundred bucks? cause personally i'd rather watch the shows mentioned earlier rather than those quiz shows.

Well they aint forcing people to have offsprings here, although he has repeatedly encouraged females to. Although the general consensus down here is a 50/50 split.

What Do You Generally Use The Internet For ?
arnz replied to red_dragon_here's topic in General Discussion
I use the internet fairly regularly for so many different things, the usual forums i visit (including Xisto), I also visit overclocking, computer-type and music forums regularly to check out the happenings in computer upgrades, overclocking, etc and latest in most type of music (I'm not a fan of pop music however). Email, of course I use it quite frequently (Gmail all the way), also download music, games (yep go the SEGA emulators and the classics like Sonic 2/3, and so forth), news, stuff for academic reasons such university assignments, and of course pr0n every now and again. Also netbanking is a pretty good convience to manage finances and so forth. But there is the balance between real life and the internet
