You may be right but I will still suggest you to uninstall the previous version. I have done this and my bookmarks, history, themes and extensions are still there. It is because they are kept in Profiles directory not in the Firefox program directory. The uninstall of previous version is recommened so that all the previous bugs can be removed.

Hi, I have recently upgraded my pc to windows xp sp2. As there is built in firewall in it which is better than the sp1. I want to know how many members are using it. I have zonealarm earlier but now I have uninstall it because it takes memory and also slow down the internet connection. So now tell your choice with some description also if possible.Thanks.

For the members who don't know how to download skins - go to tools>themes. on the themes panel you will see the installed themes and a link to download themes. the same procedure is for extensions also (tools>extensions).Noia Extreme theme is best in look as other members have written but it eats a lot of RAM which i can not afford on my 128 MB pc. so i am stick with Whitehart as i have posted earlier.

I have used a lot of skins ( at firefox skins are called themes) but i like the Whitehart Skin (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/). It is very sober and simple. And the most important thing is that it consumes very less memory compare to other skins even lesser than the default skin of firefox. At present time I am not at home so I can't post a picture of this skin.

I use Trillian for my yahoo and msn messenger friends. I have a lot of friends online always. I like chatting. As I am moderator of a health related forum (Thalassemia Community Forum) where all the members are not supposed to know the options of using a forum, I have to be online most of the time on messenger for their help. Although it is not mandatory but I think it can help members a lot.

I have used Incredimail for one year almost . It is good but there is one problem and it is very big which I have know later. In the free version it add a advertisement line belowyour message . And sometimes that ad line goes as a attatchment to the reeiver of mail which will not read your mail by thinking that the attatchment may be virus.So I have moved from Incredimal to Foxmail which is also a very good free email client.

Very funny, I know that Gmail invites are given by Gmail only. But I am talking about invite from Gmail.com itself. As other members has posted for the same.

I have not heard about free antivirus , as far as I know there is free antispyware avialale to download from Microsoft website. And the Internet Explorer version 7 will come in the mid of 2005.

I have subscribed for "gmail update receive" on gmail website when they have just launced their service. And now after so much time they have sent me a gmail invite. Now -- when I have given it to so many and still have 50 more to give. Anyone else who has same experience????

It will be very difficult to move to Internet Explorer once again after working on Firefox. But now it seems that Microsoft is changing, they are talking about free spyware, they are talking about security, they are talking about portability.I hope they will come up with the best browser in the market because I have tested their anti-spyware and it is super. It has found the entries than are not found by ad-aware,spybot,bazooka or even hijack this. So let's wait.............

I hope every member here know about trillian which is a messenger tool available for free at http://www.trillian.im/. I was a big fan of GAIM earlier because I did not like the layout of trillian's older version. But just some days away i have downloded this new version for a try. And I was amazed to see the layout of trillian now. There are many more features also. I would like to know what other members say about it???? If u have not try it so far i will recommend it .

Yes it is true that many big search engines like google don't like a websit esubmitted by search engine tools . There are very good guidelines on Google itself for webmasters how to improve their page ranking etc. You can also read them on https://www.google.com/webmasters/

all the members have favoured php here. but i have one thing to say.i have seen that php is becoming popular very fast but ASP and JSP still used in enterprises level. I have not found a single job in good software companies for php. But there are a lot jobs in ASP.NET or J2EE. i think php is good for small websites and for personal pages.any counter view????????

I did not use any of the desktop search engine you have talked about. Because I have heard that they have spyware in them. I think there is one desktop search engine named Copernicus which also has inbuilt Web Search Engine that can search many search engines like yahoo, msn, alta vista ....You can give a try to it.
