The Internet Teams Against Youtube
ginginca replied to master_nero's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I'm not sure why you say it's better quality. A lot of the content is identical. When a video goes up on youtube it also gets indexed quickly by google video. I haven't posted anything to google video, but yet I have videos there. -
Is that what they actually call them? That's very innovative!

Go ahead ... tell me I'm wrong please. But I always thought it wasn't possible.

Cruzer Flash Drive (usb) Whats with the software
ginginca replied to ginginca's topic in Hardware Workshop
Yes, I agree. And a waste of time to remove it too. Plus there are a bunch of download links in the menu (AFF stuff I imagine). -
Thanks Alegis. Is Zelda a game? (Sorry I'm not a gamer myself - don't have the time for it.) Do you create games yourself? Gin

Where do you get your music files and what kind of music do you look for, for your game development? (file length, format etc.)I'm asking because I'm launching a royalty-free music site. This is a research question.

Cruzer Flash Drive (usb) Whats with the software
ginginca replied to ginginca's topic in Hardware Workshop
When you do that it deletes the files but puts them back in again when you plug it in again. I tried it twice. You have to use the removal tool. And when you do it, the flash drive will be reformatted. But as it turns out the removal tool is included in the launch pad if you look for it. They just don't have anything in the help files from what I could see. And per my post above ... I had to disconnect my Epson CD printer for the removal to function. (It was thinking there were two U3 flash drives connected even though the epson doesn't store data.) >>> Logically I really thought if I deleted the files they would be gone. (Just like what you are suggesting.) That was the reason I started this thread. -

Cruzer Flash Drive (usb) Whats with the software
ginginca replied to ginginca's topic in Hardware Workshop
After unplugging my printer, the software would run.But I have to remove my data first. It will reformat the drive. And although it says it will restore the data ... I don't want to have any surprises! -
Cruzer Flash Drive (usb) Whats with the software
ginginca replied to ginginca's topic in Hardware Workshop
Thanks for the link.I downloaded the file, and the sandisk was plugged in at the time.It said that it only supported the removal of one U3 compatible device and to remove it from the system and run the software again. So I did that.I ran it again, and it said to plug in my device. I plugged it in, but then the NEXT button wouldn't come up. I tried several times, even running the program directly FROM the device. You're right ... spawn of satan. -
I have a couple of 1G drives by other brands and just picked up a new 2G cruzer by Sandisk. But it comes with all this (stupid) software ... a launcher and stuff. I'm used to plugging it in and using it. And with the launching software it wants me to WAIT until it launches its own apps. What's the advantage? It seems quite redundant to have this extra software running. I deleted the files, but they keep coming back. YIKES! How do I get rid of them!?

Do either of them work in another motherboard? (Might help with your troubleshooting - if you have access to another machine). -

Our household doesn't own any stand-alone gaming systems (XBox Wii etc) yet. My daughter has been asking regularly about getting one though. But the one that most seem to rave about is the Wii. In particular, the bowling game. If we do decided to get a game box, I think it would be the Wii.One of the other systems (I don't remember which) has a really cool music game where there is a plastic guitar attachment.

What format is BD-ROM? -
Personally I don't like wysiwyg editors for HTML I haven't found one yet that doesn't monkey with your code. I use ACE HTML Pro (they also have a free version) for HTML editing. HTML isn't hard to learn so I don't quite understand the need for wysiwyg editors. Gin

Thank you! I had always wondered how to do that. BTW ... I don't use IE7. Does it have spell checking too? -
Picking The Perfect Case Its not as easy as it seems...
ginginca replied to kevlar557's topic in Hardware Workshop
My own case is quite nice looking. Personally I give it at least an 8 on the cool factor. However, right at the bottom there's a little door that pops open to reveal a couple of USB connections and jacks for headphones. BOTH USB connections are now dead as someone stepped on the USB cables (PC sits on the floor) and wrecked the jacks.I have tried to replace them, but it looks like I will need the original jacks and not generic ones.Overall it isn't a big problem as there are plenty of other USB sockets elsewhere in my system, including an audio break-out box. -
I used to use AVG free but ran into an issue where one of our PC's was infected in spite of regular updates.

Yes I'm liking this feature myself also. But I don't understand why after upgrading there have been several automatic upgrades since then. -
I like the font/ Thanks for mentioning it. I use a lot of broken fonts like this in videos.

Linux Needs Windows To Run! Dugg it up on Digg
ginginca replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
My 2 cents:Canada / US. Yes a lot of Americans don't know much about Canada especialy since Canadian culture isn't part of the American media. Recently on "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" the question was ... what international border that touches the USA is the largest? The host prompted the contestant a bit asking her "which countries touch the USA and to try to visualize the size". Well of course she guessed Mexico. And years ago when we were travelling in PA, an American said "so which side of Canada are you from? The American side? Or the Canadian Side?"Lack of understanding of any subject is common and then people open their mouths. And since computers are now part of our every day lives (for pretty much all of us) people who don't understand things will speak up and their stupidity is apparent. My first PC was an APPLE II+. I've also owned an Atari 1040ST. And my first two PC's ran PC-DOS. And yes most of you guys here know that you can buy a PC without an operating system. (I think it's about $100 less).I run Windows XP on all our systems. This is because we work with clients who use XP. We want to have complete transparancy with what they use, as well as be able to "work with them" when they don't understand. Sometimes the basics like "how do I send you an attachment? or how do I read that PDF?.It's an advantage for us to use XP from that standpoint.I used to have a linux system running a few years ago (when W98 was commonplace) and tried using it as my main desktop. If I didn't have as much interactivity with my clients as I have ... I'm confident to say I would still be doing that today. Win 98 had a lot of issues with "the blue screen of death".I'll wrap this up with a joke.In 1998 people were saying "have you heard about the newest microsoft operating system? ... Mac 85?"
