You are right, fila, something went wrong. Your mycents should have already appeared. Could you please submit a ticket to Xisto - Support? They will find the problem and fix it. Regards Yordan
  2. I usually put my documents on a USB disk, just in case. As my disk space start being too small, I decided a nice cleanup. All my old Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel files went to the g:backups folder. Just in case, I created the same folder g:backups on a second usb disk. And I removed the files from my c: disk. A couple of years later, I wanted to have some old documents back. And the folder g:backups simply disapeared! All the other folders (photos, souces) where there, only backups disapeared. Same thing on the other disk. And of course, same thing on each computer, either Windows 7 or Windows 8! Checking "show hidden and system files" changed nothing! Of course, I knew the folders were there, because I could see them from a Linux system, only on Windows systems the folder was unreachable. Strangely enough, "dir g:backups" showed me the subfolders, so only g:backups could not be seen. Then, the solution was quite obvious : In a "cmd" command line window I typed : attrib -s -h g:backups And then it worked, now I can see my backups folder, I can enter inside and read my old texts and my old shell-scripts! Frankly, I was rather surprized, that the "show system and hidden folders" in the "options" menu did not work, whereas the "attrib" command line worked. "-S" means "not a system filder", and "-H" means "shall not be hidden". So, command lines instructions are still useful, only ms-dos people remember them, however they have to be used sometimes even with Windows7 or windows8! Now, the funny question : do you sometimes use text commands inside a command-line window?
  3. I agree. However, we could ruin the whole food chain, way under tons of litter. If we can't take care of our food chain, we could simply disappear. Of course, if not, don't forget that our Sun has a lifecycle, which, at a given moment, will simply swallow the earth. It's late in the future, so I don't care about it, I think wasting our natural resources will lead to the end before that.
  4. Have a look at your desktop properties. (right-click on the desktop, simply, a menu will appear) and have a look at "display", you should see something like "big icons", "small icons" and "automatically re-arrange icons". Un-check the "automatically rearrange", that's all
  5. Ginger is the name of a plant (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ginger ) Look at the unofficial uncyclopedia mentionned in the starter topic, in order to make your own opinion. I would not say that is it's really politically correct, depending from the person using this word.
  6. Ha-ha, you will not stay hungry
  7. I would try something, just in order to clarify whether it's a hardware or a driver problem. Try booting on a Microsoft Windows install disk. Don't click install! Simply look if your mouse works, and wait a couple of minutes and look if your mouse continues working. If you have no mouse problem when booting on on the Windows install disk, this means that the drivers on your current Windows install are faulty. If your mouse dos not work with the last Windows install disk, this means that you probably have a hardware problem, and have to keep using and external mouse.
  8. So, seems that "which one is beter" is not the important question. The important question is "which one do you prefer?" and "why?" I started with Corel because it was sold with my brand new computer some years ago, and I got used with it, so now Adobe looks very complicated to me, and does not perform what I want to do. Nevertheles, I guess that if I had learned Adobe first and started using it during several years, I would have got the exactly opposite opinion
  9. +1, I love FileZilla. I use the portable version, which leads to no pollution on my systems, when I have a problem I simply delete the folder and start from scratch.
  10. OK, keep us informed, if you were successful, and how tasty the roosters finally were.
  11. This il your opinion, I have full respect of it. However,, I have a comment, it's really very far away from the topic "the condition of Xisto.com", and I really don't see how this can fit the purpose of the "computer talk" section.
  12. Ok, now you are a lucky man with a new fridge and a new stove. However, what about the washing machine? Are you still stomping on your clothes in the bathtub?
  13. Nice! I love the new layout! It rocks!
  14. Seems that you have a bad CD4, go back to the shop with your original CD and your laptop, and they should fix.
  15. Why not? However... Which statement are you talking about, and which kind of report?
  16. Why isn't it a real name? And why do you inform us that your neame is not a real one?
  17. Thanks, sas27sh, very nice info. You first posted this topic as a tutorial. Unfortunately, your text does not meet the minimum requirements for a tutorial. That's why I moved it here, where it's place most probably is. Regards Yordan
  18. Thanks, sas27sh Just a small question, nevertheless. Doesn't this look strangely similar to the post starting topic
  19. Thanks, Sas27sh By the way, doesn't this strangely look similar to the wutske trick?
  20. Have a look here : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/locations/all-locations If you stop using your MacBook Air, sell it to Microsoft when you buy a Surface Pro, you will get up to $650 refund! Of course, the MacBook air you sell must be fully functional, not a broken one, nor having a broken display

  22. Yeah, I already suffered with so-called "server" installations. These things are terrific! As long as everything is running fluently, wy not. But if a problem occurs, debugging is almost impossible. When "ping" or "traceroute" or "xterm" commands answer "not found", the administrator feels rather stupid.
  23. You are right, the dns names recently changed. The change was transparent for the users, the new customers will have the new dns names, and the info on the old post is outdated. Please also feel tree to add a comment to the old posts, mentionning the current topic
