New Adobe CS2: It's Out! New Cool Features
Jeigh1405241495 replied to szupie's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I'll probably 'aquire' it soon since I havn't updated my photoshop in a few iterations.I saw a demonstration of vanishing point being used and it was pretty intense. A guy extended a building from being a small corner building to extending the length of the entire block, and the vanishing point tool automatically adjusted for the perspective when cloning the original building. Photoshop may have the majority of its features perfected but there is still alot they can add I'd imagine, they are moving into the territory where they are trying to do less new things and instead making more tools to easily perform the tasks and effects that user were able to do in other more difficult ways in the past. (ex: vanishing point) -
Just look around until you find someone that is saying something blatently stupid or baltently against what you feel about a certain topic and let your view flow

Haha yea, I still usualy try to reboot every few days even if its not crying yet... after leaving it downloading overnight for a few nights in a row and gaming hard some days in between it kind of brings the system to its knees after awhile. I used to use a ram cleaner tool that basically was like rebooting but it took almost as long as I figured why bother heh.Oh, and you don't need to leave windows in control of the swap...you can set a min/max swap file size if you wanna force it to stay a certain size or whatever. And thanks for letting me know about the multiple of 4 rule for linux...I'll have to resize my swap partition so those 3k of space don't get wasted

Spyware Free Computer Guide to a Safe World
Jeigh1405241495 replied to iGuest's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Windows 2000 won't be getting security updates much longer probably, it's already into extended support years isn't it? And suggesting people use a non-windows OS be it OpenBSD or any Linux or whatnot is understandable but pointless. No matter how many people argue it a non-windows platform cannot do everything windows can, especially in terms of usability for the general user. It might not fit your or my definition of user friendly but to most windows is 100 times simpler then anything on another platform (excluding OSX I guess) -
Thats pretty decent, making sure people don't need to post like a bat out of hell when their credits start running out. Makes sense on a bigger scale too since at this rate I could probably pull like a years worth of hosting credits within a month or so of posting heh

Actually that is incorrect...if you think about that it wouldn't even make sense. I mean... why would you need twice the HD space if its just a temporary holding spot for the ram's data? Also unless you set it yourself the size of the swap file dynamically changes based on however much is needed. The swap file is just the HD that is virtual memory for when your ram fills up... so if you have tons of ram its unlikely you'll even need to use your swap file.

Spyware Free Computer Guide to a Safe World

Reports of MS's anti-spyware finding weird things like explorer or mozilla as adware are mostly, if not all, hoaxes people made. I've seen tons of screenshots of mozilla being found as "spyware" but they were all fakes. But I would agree on only needing a couple adware killers, and an antivirus really. You can have as many as you want but you shouldn't bother leaving them all running constantly scanning, but having them to hunt down pesky pieces of spyware the others cant find never hurt. (and I mean you don't KNOW if your 2 or 3 are actually doing a good job...since you just see them finding no results that simply means that your system doesn't have any of the spyware/adware that those programs KNOWs of hehe) -
Do Aliens Really Exist? Hot Debate! do they really exist?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to tcave's topic in Science and Technology
infamousflame....if you think it was a random coincidence that life started here how can you believe in aliens...the probability of this occuring ONCE (just...random organisms finding there way to a suitable environment or whatnot) would be so low that the liklihood of it happening elsewhere would be tiny...unless I'm misinterpretting what you are saying lol.Repeater - if you think other planets can have tiny organisms, why not life on our own level? I mean if you ignore religious views for the time being then we simply became into existence through other natural occurances. This would imply that IF there were any organisms on another planet, they could indeed someday evolve from single celled organisms into what we are today, or even more advanced beings. -
Is Google The Best Search Engine? Your Favourite? Is it?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to bigredrosen's topic in Search Engines
Google for me. The page loads like a snap, search results always seem relevant, (not true with some other search engines), I'm just used to it from it being consistently great...plus gmail helps -
If they make a Diablo 3 they would need to change alot for it to be the "best action RPG ever"... I mean I loved D and D2 but come on, be serious now, its a hack and slash blood fest at its core and thats what was fun. The storylines were pretty weak at best, and the gameplay was fairly repetative no matter how much they threw new enemies and magic into the mix. Like I said, I loved the ames, hope they make a D3... its just not going to be some God-send unless they pimp the game out a fair bit
-
yea alot of the games "supporting code" as I call it (meaning the menus and browers and whatnot) are pretty *BLEEP* so if they tried to get xfire to be able to launch directly through it the universe would probably implode
-
Hmm I'll have to check it out then, I've done a fair bit of C programming and general programming style work so php sounds like it should just flow like another language added to the list lol. I wasn't actually sure whether php was programming or soemthing else and was too lazy to check

I wish I didn't have any ram...it's a disease you know...RAM = Rancid Acidic Microbes......Ok its too early for me to make a witty acronym for it

Spyware Free Computer Guide to a Safe World
Jeigh1405241495 replied to iGuest's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yea you can have a "Computer which has no detectable spyware" but a true spyware free computer is rare... at least as far as windows boxes are concerned. But I would agree that those 3 are the best, although I havn't actually tried running the M$ anti-spyware thing yet, but thats mostly because I never think of it while on my home comp. -
Stem Cell Research what do you think?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to bigredrosen's topic in Science and Technology
As I mentioned, cloning technology does "exist" to some definition already. I mean, they could in essence create a clone. It may not live long but they have the required tech to try if they were sanctioned to do so. I figure if they already have opened pandoras box to some extent, they may as well benefit from it if possible -
Weird. I've had a handful of hotmail accounts and all became spam ridden no matter how I treated them... and of the people I know who still use hotmail they all complain of junk. Even my aunt who only emails like 3 people and never registers for anything ever gets tons of spam at her address. Could be luck of the draw, but either way, spam shouldn't be that common at any address provided by them if they want to be superior...(Plus I still just dislike the layout/style/general feel of hotmail heh)

Awesome. Good luck with the IE plugin thing... if those exist? I havn't really heard of any other then toolbar type things so I guess you could make a toolbar that let you search here maybe? I dunno. IE would benefit alot from extension type plugins tho I think, too bad M$ is evil :| haha. But good luck with your attempted attempts!

Stem Cell Research what do you think?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to bigredrosen's topic in Science and Technology
They just need to perfect nanotechnology so that we can have a set of nanites constantly floating around our bodies repairing tissue as it begins to fail....obviously...lol -
Yea this is a problem I have had in the past. I would make sites that had alot of conent, but it was buried down deep in the site and the opening page was basically just a junction to find it. While I think having sections full of stuff is alright, you need to keep the main page updated often and fresh or else people won't have a reason to revisit unless they want to find something specifically in one of the deeper sections.Good ideas all around man
