I've used trillian like at 3 seperate times. Each time I'd use it for a few days, get annoyed by how it just didn't 'feel right' and went back to using whatever clients I felt like at the time. I havn't tried a version lately but I'll likely just stick to having the multiple clients...I hate losing features that I know exist on the true client software (when I'm running in linux and have to use the other messenger programs its always a bit of a nuisance) As far as ram is concerned...well I dont leave my IM's all on when I'm doing anything ram intensive (...gaming...) so its all good as far as I'm concerned (plus I guess I just up'd my ram to 1.5 gigs so again...not an issue for me)

This thread amuses me for various reasons of which I shall now depict for youA-You said you knew like 100 glitches, then said you could show him like 20...where'd the other 80 go?B- The glitch you mentioned appears, like dood said, to not actually be a glitchC-There are probably already a hundred sites about this stuff, so no need for us to do the impossible and donate creds to youD-If we gave you credits you wouldn't post thus ruining the whole point of the credit system...it takes like 10 minutes to make some good posts and get the credits needed for hosting so man up and do it yourselfE-All of the above

I used to use opera before I came upon mozilla/firefox. Personally I just prefer the look/feel of the fox over opera. Sure you can skin/theme out either but I've just had better luck finding visuals I like for firefox over opera. Also, I'm pretty big about having compact stuff at the top of my screen so the ad does indeed pose a significant annoyance for me. You mentioned editing files to get rid of it but I don't feel I should need to when I can download firefox and have the same results without having to do a config tweak.Plus the extensions. Firefox's extensions are another reason I love the software. They add so much customizability to the software its not even funny. Sure opera has more features upon install but alot of those are features I don't use, while ff extensions are picked by me so they are just want I want. No need for extra options cluttering up my menus and whatnot.Obviously this is a preferance thing. Both programs do their job and they both do it very well. Hopefully both stick around for a long time to come so people can have as many high quality IE alternatives as possible

Final Fantasy Vii The good and the bads
Jeigh1405241495 replied to rogerton's topic in Computer Gaming
No shocker, I loved FF7 as well. I'd love if they DID make a remake of it but I mean...they mentioned making one for the PS2 generation and that never happened so its probably unlikely but who knows, we can hope.Advent Children is indeed said to be making a dvd appearance as well as comming out on the originally planned UMD's. Either way someone'll find a way to rip it offa UMD's and leak it to the net so I'm not worried...And as a final note - Personally I hope they NEVER give a way to keep Aeirth/Aeries alive. It would ruin the entire feel of the story IMO. I mean, that moment is probably one of my most well remembered moments in my gaming history and if they changed it or gave a way to avoid it I would hate it. Being sad that a character died and wanting to bring her back are two dif things. Was I sad at the moment? yes. Did it add to the story and the feeling of immersion of the game? For sure. I've always hated how everyone wanted a way to bring her back because I mean...thats not the story. I wouldn't want them taking that moment out of the game as I can't remember another time in a vid game that I actually felt that bad about a character dieing. Sure it was a ***** having wasted time leveling her up but still, in the end -if- they ever remake it I hope they stand true to their original idea of the story and don't give in to people wanting it changed. -
What Type Of Graphic Card? Should I buy
Jeigh1405241495 replied to etan's topic in Hardware Workshop
For 100-300 USD you can probably find almost any card you want really.. a nice x800 or GeForce 6800 wtih 256mb ram on either. Might even be able to find the top end versions of each for around 300 if u look on price sites (pricewatch for instance). If its 100-300 Canadian it might not be in the cards for you to get the top end, but you'd still be able to find an x800 or GF equiv online for those prices probably if u looked round a bit. If you are gaming go for the max you can find for the money you've got. If you don't game I'd say get something stron from a generation or two ago so the price is heavily lowered by now -
I feel I should point out that it's an old game...diablo-ish in style. I played it a few years ago I think and it was alright...but then again that was when I was hard up for free games lol. I thought it was alright, great as far as a fully freeware game goes, but its nothing amazing if compared to pay software...and its not recent so the graphics are heavily dated as I don't even remember them being great then. This all having been said it's worth the download what with it being (legally) free and all

1 Playstation3 + 1 Linux = 2 Good To Be True ?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to qwijibow's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Linux being on the PS3 doesn't make this gen of consoles any more like a PC then the xbox was...which if I am not mistaken just had a heavily modified version of windows as the OS on it -
Switching To Linux switch
Jeigh1405241495 replied to Cookiemonster1405241499's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Obviously customizability is not high on his priority list since he is just trying out linux for the first time and knows little of the environment at all...don't imagine he'll be kernal hacking anytime soon -
It's not like they don't have the money, or are unwilling to spend the cash to make their games as good as possible. It was a choice they made to use fake names for the vehicles. The whole game is a parody of life really, the cars, ads, cities, everything. They probably realize wasting cash on the real car liscenses would only make them have to be limited in what they could do since car companies wouldn't want to have their cars being used to perform drug deals and picking up hookers and ****. If they get vehicle liscenses it'll just cause too much unwanted **** that they are better off without bothering with...Plus I mean...as mentioned parents are blaming GTA for everything their kids do. We don't need to make the GTA world any closer to reality less they'd have more pointless ammo to fire at gamers/game dev's

Slngz...the same can be said about almost every FPS, every racing game, every sequel, etc... plus San Andreas's story actually has a way dif feel then either of the other two.But I would agree that San andreas is awesome, can't wait to play more (been playing the PC version the last few days) and while it kicks insane *bottom* I'd have to disagree with the person ho said it had great graphics...compared to PS2 version yes. Compared to other PC games...not really. They arn't bad graphics just not great. Then again the graphics dont hurt the experience at all.And I heard lately something about the GTA psp game still being worked on, so I'm sure it'll be out eventually. I can imagine it'd be amazing since rockstar puts alot of work into all their products.

I bought (been awhile since I actually bought a game...anyways) the PC version of GTA:SA yesterday and might I say its pretty awesome. Right off the bat I noticed the voice acting was its normal amazing level (Samuel L Jackson, oh yea) which was awesome. Didn't get alot of time to play but it seemed awesome times 100. Can't wait to delve into another GTA3 world wooAlso I have to mention the awesome presentation for the PC DVD version (might be tohers, dunno). The "Case" is a Hardcover copy of the manual with the dvd holder on the back cover and a poster for the game with a map of the games cities on the back. All in all I must say its pretty awesome since usually its a box with a jewel case and a crappy dull booklet (havn't read the SA manual yet but seemed pretty well laid out/vibrant)All in all, a worthy game to drop a few bucks on (or DL if thats your poison) and I plan to lose many a hour of my life in it, woo

Why Is Installing Redhat Linux Difficult?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to nidahasa's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I remember it being a bit daunting the first time i installed a linux distro (I actually think it was an old red hat...maybe) But regardless, as long as you take your time, read everything carefully, and think about the choices, you should be able to manage the more popular distros installers.Frankly Red Hat/Fedora just boils down to partitioning and package choices... as was said the defaults are enough (I assume always) to have the basics, but I still suggest going through and installing everything that you know what it is if you think you might want it, makes for an easier experience once you are into the OS (since if u are new to linux you may wnt to have some basics abilities before learning about more in depth configuration and whatnot). There are some distros that give you very limited options, but those are basically equivalent to choosing "install everything" since they just load up everything that distro has to offer. Which reminds me, when installing , if you have the HD space, why not install everything available? Makes the install a breeze and then you have a killer amount of apps to play with right at the get-go. -
A quick google search would likely bag you a nice number of sample quizzes. I don't personally know of any repositories of email quizzes but I'm sure they are out there...people make sites devoted to everything nowdays haha

Aim Hacking My experiance with a hacker
Jeigh1405241495 replied to iGuest's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Does aim have one of those "secret question" things? if it does those are usually easy to get past if you know the person... -
I tried it back awhile...didn't have any virus problems...didn't use the program too long though. It was an alright piece of software and the script library was nice, it just felt like it was trying to be really complex but ended up failing and being quite simple...I can't explain it any better then that. It was a solid piece of software, good editor, nice tabbed view for previoewing changes to a webpage, just seem to lack anything in particular to keep me comming back to it.

Hardware Trouble Shooting A question on how to proceed...
Jeigh1405241495 replied to m3ch4's topic in Hardware Workshop
What Klass said is a good method, make sure there is power...make sure motherboard and fans are running, etc. Go step by step through everything that needs to fire up in order for the computer to work and do your best to check if each is working individually. If you have any parts that are compatible, if you get stuck by knowing the PSU is working and everything seems to be booting fine and then it jsut dies...or a similar scenario...you can swap out parts one by one to see if any one piece is causing the problem. HD and ram are common pieces that fail and could make a system crash upon booting. But -
Hey sunny, let me know if he doesn't send you an invite and I can probably hook you up with one later tonight when I get home (gmail is blocked here at work)

I heard it start off reallyt awesome but becomes somewhat generic as far as shooters go the farther in you get. Apparently the weapons/powers you get are pretty original too. All in all, I've heard it was a fun time and I hope to try it out soon

I'm currently debating getting a laptop, but if I get one I'll probably go for a low end iBook (I can get a pretty good deal through my university) Since I just need it for programming for school and other school work, my only real uses for it other then that would be music, net, the basics, so power really isn't a problem. If your laptop is going to replace your desktop I could understand wanting high end but if your only using it for mobility think carefully about waht you'll actually use it for, it might just say you a grand.

Apple Switch To Intel From Ibm?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to jedipi's topic in Websites and Web Designing
As far as I'm concerned ,whether they want it or not mac OS will be able to be run on most normal system soon after the switch happens. I mean people have been trying to get OSX running on intel hardware as it is and have done so, even if it is insanely poorly done and horribly slow. If the OS is already optimized for the hardware it wouldn't take people long to alter it to either run on other system or be easily emulated on another system. I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't mind having a system running windows, linux, and mac OS. Seems like it'd be an awesome setup giving you the best of everything you'd need. -
havn't played it yet because I cant bring myself to buy a console for one game haha. But it looks awesome and I havn't heard anything bad about it really

Swat 4 What do you think about this game?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to Philywiskaz's topic in Computer Gaming
On the note of realism, game developers make their choices to all work in unison, not to necessarily make sense based on looking at any individual choice. Possibly their AI aiming code was inaacurate as it was so if they lowered the accuracy furthur while running it would make it so they never hit anything except a stray shot now and then....not that thats necessarily what happened///I just know their -could- be a logical explanation lol.Oh...and a game called SWAT is obviously not going to be about another special forces unit, obviously -
Hey, welcome to ze swamp. I'm semi-new to here too, been here a few weeks, its a pretty cool set of forums. Hope you enjoy your stay
