You should try Opera. It's free, even faster than FF, also includes a download manager and of course a popup blocker. The only bad thing about it is that it now comes with some small targetted text adds at the top of the browser. You get used to the poointless adds though .

This topic is actually about free programs and Dreamweaver (although probably the best) is quite expensive. Anyway for free html editors I haven't actually tried it so don't take this as gospel but I have heard that 1st Page 2000 is really good.

To get rid of any spyware I usually use spybot S&D. It generally gets rid of all the nasties infecting your computer. The odd one will as above mentioned not delete properly or replicate itself for which I also use Hijack this. It's a great free program, however it's searches are not limited to known spyware! When you search with it you most likely won't have to delete all of the things it comes up with. Most of them will probably be harmless programs. I google search anything that looks suspicious just to make sure.

I'm really not surprised that it improved. To be honest I think that no matter which browser you changed to it would have improved some. As for the crrashing I believe that even the experimental FF crashes less than IE.

Perhaps I should re-test them and pass judgment once again , admittedly it has been about eight months since I really used one. I will try to find someone with an up to date mac and ask if i can try it.

It is fairly fast and does give you quite good results but as I think I have said before I just can't help thinking of it as cheating. It just relies on other people's hard work and does hardly anything itself. I prefer real search engines like google.

I am definately better at programming. It's not very hard you just have to remmember the commands and your basically set. Graphics design takes more skill and practice, I hope to work on it and get better.

I'm lazy so I just use the built in one in Opera. It works quite well and has failed me only once or twice out of hundreds so I am happy with it .

Like Tweak I use Opera for general use and then test my new web pages in Opera, Firefox and the horrible IE. Can you get Safari for windows? If possible I should be testing my web pages for the mac users as well.

The fact that Microsoft makes it is certainly no garantee that it works. In fact I would prefer another more reliable open source one. Either way I hate macs so it dosen't matter to me.

Windows dosen't actually put the spyware on your computer it's just that when Microsoft made it (and the programs it comes with [iE in particular]) they cut corners on the programming quite badly, creating a massive security flaw that they call an OS. As if that wasn't enough, because so many people have been ripped off by Microsoft there are alot of virus's, spyware etc. which specifically target their software.

Does this alternate planet you live on where IE is good have a name? IE is one of the most insecure, buggy, slow browsers I have ever used. The only reason I would ever use it is because so many people create pages that can only be seen in it. I can't remember the last time anyone ever thought it was the best browser. 1994 maybe?

I have always used windows and for about a year now i have known that Linux is probably better but I don't think it it worth the effort to change. Linux is so much more secure and stable and if anyone asked me what to get i would suggest Linux long before i let them try windows.

Does anyone like Microsoft? Is it actually possible that some uneducated loony thinks that all there programs are really good. I too dislike MS alot but use Windows XP. It's just what I learnt to use and frankly I just can't be bothered getting and learning how to use Linux. Thats terrible I know but what the hell. I'm lazy.

I think he was asking what program we use to create our flash works. Although it is kinda hard to tell. I think that ThinkEr should think about what he is writing a little bit more before he writes it. I too use Flash MX to create flash documents. It is a very good program with alot of options.

While we are on the subject of google adword, does anyone know how much they pay (I mean if you have the google ads on your site)? I would say from the info above that they would pay per click the same as they charge.

I use mostly Limewire mostly and if that dosen't have it i'll try Win MX. Limewire's a bit slow to startup on my comp (I will admit that it is a slow comp ) but the range of files is good and I haven't found a single virus or ad/spy/malware yet. BTW both are free and don't come with any spyware which is always good.

I don't think anyone can really rightfully judge Longhorn untill the full version comes out. Although after hearing all the current reviews and looking at some of the screen shots, I wouldn't expect too much .

I have always tended to write both the www and the http just because it is more reliable. At least thats why i first did it, now i do it more out of habit.

Awesome I didn't know that The Sims was available for Linux. Is The Sims 2 available also? I'm a big fan of them, Counter Strike and of course the brilliance of Unreal Tournament 2004. I totally agree that Microsoft has done an amazing job. Not however by creating world changing software, but rather simply convincing most people that they did.

Cable would probably be faster where i live because not many people would have it, however i would always get adsl ove cable because it's so much more reliable. I like to have a consistant speed all the time so i can better judge how long it will take to download thing etc.

Notepad is good and simple. However you just can't pass the extra features in Dreamweaver MX. It makes coding so much faster. The main reason I use it is that I can't for the life of me remember the hex colour system. With Dreamweaver I don't have to .
