The first that you have provided also lists deer to be one of the reasons that kills people, I just wanted to know how that happens. However, I would really thank you for providing us with the links and enlightening us about the myths related to sharks.

Actually the point is that to tackle the issue of global warming, all the causes need to be detected and measures to ,prevent such causes should follow. It is not that only dams are responsible to increase the supply of methane in the air, but even if they do so for a minor amount, it should be taken care of.I am not a scientist either, but since now the scientists have found out this fact about dams, they will certainly devise a way which does not the service of the dams and controls the amount of methane as well.

Probably the effort was taken to show how the structure or the gait of even a earthworm was observed and how with the help of technology that could be successfully replicated. It has to be taken more to be a piece of art, produced by technology than to be some object of real use. Talking about the amount of time and money spent on this project, though it won't be bringing any destructive effects, it won't be that constructive either, and I am totally for the fact that the time and money could be diverted towards other great tasks.

I would agree that sometimes it does happen that you have got sound experience about something, and someone else has got experience of different quality about the same thing, lets say marriage, there are so many people that maintain varied views on the same concept and a person who is dissatisfied with his own marriage takes the effort of sharing his unpleasant experiences through the medium of a book. If that is considered as source of some level of information, about marriage, is that not going to create a false notion among he readers who expect some sound advice on the marital bond? However, there are certain things like personal experiences that should be, even if counted as information, should be well verified with one's own senses and power of reasoning.

I really hope the parents equip themselves well before they have to face their children's demands during the festive season so that they do not have to spend time on the calculation over the expenses.Back on the topic, I think the main feature to be watched out for would be the feel of their touch ans their movement because they supposedly have the limbs in fiber. One thing to be confessed, if I were to blame only the kids, it would be unfair as I, myself, even after being an adult crave for soft toys.

Sheepdog, it has already been announced on the forum that a new domain name for Xisto is supposed to come up, it would be known as KDiscuss. I know the members who have been here from the days of when the forum had the name of Trap 17, still find themselves associated with that name, jhaslip is one of them. But with every change, there would be a touch of freshness, and I really hope, we are all going to get accustomed by the new name. The topic about new name for Xisto could be found here

In an earlier post I had described how Google maintains the human touch while dealing with its employees, even after they leave for their heavenly abode. But here's something that shows up to be quite the other way round. Google has done with the acquisition of Motorola Mobility and aims to register some more innovations in the history of technology, therefore they have decided to emphasize on the "reorganizing" and restructuring of the company. This leads to the decision that 20% of the work force of Motorola has to be laid off, even the top notch position holders like Vice Presidents also have to give up their jobs and a good percentage of offices mainly in India and some other parts of Asia would be targeted, more of the work would now be handled by the staff in Chicago, Sunnyvale and Beijing. The decision also extends to producing less but quality handsets each year in place manufacturing incompetent stuff. They also plan to drop a number of suppliers as well and the amount of components would also reduce consequently. Though that would be bringing bad news to many, there is ultimate growth expected to mark in the records for Motorola. Given a chance, what would you mainly stand up for future of the employees who lose their jobs in the process or the betterment of technology including the snatching away of career opportunities of the people? Most of us have the habit of going through the important news of the day or the previous one, the traditional and the widely used mode of receiving news is a newspaper, that is a part of print media, it was depended upon hugely in the earlier decades, next was the turn of the radio, but it had the disadvantage of not presenting any visual details, yet it turned out to be popular among the masses, then came to take away its popularity, visual media, which had news sessions telecast on the television. People found this option far more appealing as the news would be accompanied by a video coverage as well. For any news updates people would resort to their television sets and this form of news representation met huge success. Then came the era of internet, the whole world got connected via the world wide web. As the structure of internet is mainly constituted of websites, its phenomenal success can also be attributed to the presence of these websites. The next series of events saw the attraction of the masses towards the internet and as the media is always alert about the changing trends of people's inclination, most of the companies that had earlier concentrated on spreading news on television channels, released versions over the internet as well. As soon as you log onto the internet you will find that a lot of reputed news channels have something to present to the users of the internet, some of the big names are also those that only can be viewed over the internet like Yahoo and Google. We rely heavily on those sources and cling to the internet for hours. The possible reason for the development in the mode of spreading information might be that the convenience of spreading the news is considered, like for example; if a correspondent is present at the location of an event, then he can immediately upload the developments in the incident via his cellphone over the internet and in moments thousands of people can have their share of information and can even put in updates. There might be other causes also, but I found it to be the strongest. What form of news representation do you prefer? Also share your opinions and ideas on the developments of the various means of news communication.

Hey, thanks a ton! coming back to the topic, I will cite my own example in this regard, not just about dating advice, but in other categories also like discussing about relationships and sharing the stories of the early part of my life, really makes me feel good, and if someone like you finds interest in that and takes an effort to reply, it is even better, and just narrating the stories transports me to that part of my life and I almost relive the moments that i really cherish. As far as contributing to the solutions provided for others in distress on the forums, if someone is benefited just by a sensitive approach to his issue, then I am always up for that.

As Bikerman has listed, some skills have to be possessed in this regard, and efforts have to be made to check if a piece of information is valid. However I feel that another crucial factor that has to be taken into consideration is updating some piece of information that has been posted quite some time ago. If we belong to that particular field, and are in touch with the latest happenings in that field and can always try them ourselves, but the real problem arises when a newbie in the field tries to get information and whatever he is served with is outdated, and later finds that out, it shakes the trust over the source on the internet.Every site that gives out information on the internet should keep up with the changing trends in the field and incorporate them in their material, that would help immensely to the spread of proper information.

Not On Facebook? You May Be Considered To Be A Psychopath
ritu replied to ritu's topic in General Discussion
Actually what happens is that some observers purely base their studies on certain facts that he thinks are good enough to be relied upon, they can have causes to support their view. However, I have there are also some reasons listed why a person would not spend their time on Facebook. I also refuse to believe that some person who has got a wide circle on the social networking site has never committed any crime, that even might be a petty one.I feel that the study basically takes into account the fact that someone having a facebook account could be tracked and would not get away easily after committing the crime. But a person who is into planning a crime can easily temper his Facebook account also. Moreover, the psychological state of a person can vary at nay point of time, he could have been active on Facebook yet, turn a psycho within a month. How would that be accounted for? -
Yes, these people who are in favor of such a tool, undoubtedly there are, certainly can't be categorised as ones experiencing pain, but it is actually jealousy that gets built in. I know that can is likely to happen in case of childless people, but that can no way mean that babies themselves are to be hold responsible and totally banned on a site.Sheepdog, you are right when you say that on e has to except facts in life that seem unpleasant and not getting exposed to them is simply a display of escapism.

There is a new robot on the block, it is known as Meshworm, the last half of the name has the word "worm" in it, because this word signifies the appearance and movement of the robot which is quite similar to that of an earthworm ,yet it happens to be much stronger in resistance than its living counterpart. It clearly seems that the structure of the earthworm has been studied quite carefully while creating this robot, the body, its shape, the way it moves. The researchers from MIT observed that the body of the earthworm mainly uses two major groups of muscles, one which is in circular shape and wraps around the body and lets it crawl forward and the other that is is one that runs across the body and helps it move sideways towards the left and right. The tubular structure of the body have been beautifully replicated and given to the "Meshworm" It was created by the use of polymer mesh and the muscles have been developed by the use of nickel-titanium alloy. The durability factor is also taken well taken into account and even if harsh treatment is given to the robot, it is able to bear that. For the movement in the robot to be generated, the circuit board and a battery set up, so that the heat is generated and the robot starts to move. The fibrous soft structure also has been given to the robot and it maintains the flexibility of the earthworm. With this robotic invention, technology has proved to display another amazing product. We can cross our fingers and and wait for more amazement to follow. Source

The graduates from MIT have developed successfully an iPhone app that can help you to remain fit by keeping an eye on your pulse rate. This checking would not not require any specialized device but it can be done on the iPhone or iPod Touch. The phone app is known as Cardiio app and the its way of evaluation depends on how your heart rate works and it takes the help of the front iSight camera to scan your face and ultimately presents an update of your pulse rate. It works when the heart rate increases, the face receives more pumped blood and the radiance that is emitted by your face gets decreased in this process. These differences in the reflectiveness helps the app to determine the pulse rate as three beats per minute. This app can bring much ease into the determination of sudden fluctuation of pulse rate which often leads to serious health issues, and the whole process can be covered only through the scanning of the face. There is much anticipation about the accuracy level of the app and a large number of people are expecting that it will generate positive responses from the users. We can all wait to see how beneficial it proves to be. Source

Google, the giant in the field of technology has got an equally giant heart which takes care of its employees not just when they are working for Google, but also after death. Google's policy for death benefits is a benchmark for many others in business, as the policy has incorporated the privilege to be given to the families of the deceased. According to the policy, the spouse or the domestic partner of the deceased would receive 50% of the salary for 10 years, the deceased stocks are vested and each child of the deceased would receive an amount of $1,000 a month upto the age of 23, if the child is a full time student, else the age of aid drops down to 19. Moreover there is no fixed number of years set for a person to complete in the company to be eligible for the benefits. S/he is eligible from the time s/he joins the company.Google however, has a modest approach towards their own policy and maintain that it is nothing to be boasted about. There are many other privileges that the employees of Google are entitled to, like granting of parental leaves, on site facilities for dry cleaning, free food being provided and more. It is indeed very good to know about the company dedicated to developing ultra technical stuff and making millions, has also got some focus on making the lives and even the afterlife of the people who are valuable contributors to their success, better. We have some more for us this week when it comes to the latest on iPhone or iPad, as the users do get bored of the existing features very soon. The features talked come as : The first app is the the Fight Track's free version which is very helpful in regards of what the name clearly suggests, you can find a lot about the flight that you wish to know about, the search is most likely to get settled because the app covers the activity of around 16,000 airports and 1400 airlines across the world. Some of the things that generally hold importance in relation to information on flights are the time of arrival and departure, the present location of the flights which are displayed on colorful maps and helps you estimate if the flight would be on time, delayed or would be cancelled altogether. It is really helpful if you are a frequent traveler or any of your close ones travel a lot. The next app is BiteHunter a name which many of us are familiar with. The deal finding business gets easier with the updated feature that does not require one to hunt down the secured deals in the email. The latest app does a fantastic job of spotting the sought after place to eat, fix the deal, secure it by purchasing and then redeem it. You are served with notifications for the best deals especially if that time sensitive and the search is as wide as covering more than 50,000 restaurants. The latest update to the Slingshot Racing is the third feature to be checked out, it gets a turn -based multiplayer going and you can enjoy the introduction of new tracks and much more with this updated app. So, look out and make the best of these apps which have been offered and have a blast this weekend. The images from the Mars Odyssey spacecraft, with the help of THEMIS (Thermal Emission Imaging System) and from NASA's Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter's High Resolution Imaging camera, can prove to be helpful to show how the development of tectonic plates took place on the earth. This could be possible because the images in question show that Mars is in the beginning stages of the plate tectonic process. These are plates under the surface of the planet and look quite like the plates that are found beneath the earth's surface. The plates when studied more carefully, were compared with the results of the geological survey that was conducted on the place of division of two of the seven tectonic plates, the area of study were the Himalayas and Tibet. The result of the comparison brought into light many similarities like the canyon which has a smooth and flat wall, which could be generated only by a fault, the cliffs which come in direct comparison are the ones in California's Death Valley which is also generated by a fault. The presence of the linear volcanic zone on Mars is evident enough to show the presence of tectonic plates. One of the researchers An Yin said that these features are not found else in the solar system except Earth and Mars. While studying the surface of Mars, the deepest and the longest canyon system in our solar system was found, the name for it is Valles Marineris, derived from the name of the Mars Orbiter of the early 70's Mariner 9 and given a latin version. The system of canyons is close to nine times the size of the Earth's Grand Canyon, the one in Mars is about 2,500 miles long. The canyon system on Mars divides the two plates which have been found to move horizontally 93 miles relative to each other, it is comparable to California's San Andreas Fault which is also over the place of the crossing of two plates, has moved twice of that on Mars, but the proportion remains undisturbed because the earth is twice the size of Mars. Landslides are also found on the planet and they are found to be shifted from their origin by a fault. The creation of the canyon system or the movement of the plates or the rate of their movement are still to be researched upon by the team with much more to be found. The two plates have been given the name of Valles Marineris North and Valles Marineris South.\ The UCLA is however the largest university in California Source

Most of us have a craving and collection of stuffed toys, the main reason for the fetish, these toys look extremely cute. But what if they would also give us cute responses as sometimes is displayed as text on their bodies, those ones which say "Your Friend" or the most common "Hug Me". That wish is about to come true as the researchers from the Tokyo University of Technology have put on show at the Emerging Technologies section, for their "Stuffed Toys Alive!", a kind of interactive toy that would use the string pulley structure, in the toys limbs, some strings are fixed and then those are attached to a motor, which regulates the motion of the toy and also handles the task of responding from the toy's end which would be a result of touch. The working of the interactive stuffed toy is kept as simple as possible and it would prove to bring additional joy to the one who receives it. It has been often told and shown to us that sharks are beings of prey, they spill the blood of other organisms across the sea. There were movies made on the horrifying incidents where human beings have fallen prey to the "JAWS" of these predating fish, I also remember various pranks being played on people where just a shark tail is used and that drives the hell out of the people swimming in the water. The hunters, as they are mostly depicted come in more than 350 species, and as a matter of surprise, it comes down to us as that they need to be protected. There has been some assessment done by the group Oceania where they observed close to 307 species of sharks and found that 50 of the species could be categorised as "endangered". However, under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), the white, whale and basking sharks stand to receive protection. The International Union for Conservation of Nature maintains a list which is known as the "Red List" and deals with the endangered species that require to be taken care of. Sharks have occupied the top position in that list as they are the most vulnerable marine beings. The dangers that they supposedly face are The myth related to sharks preying on humans has been falsified, as it has been found that out of all only 20 species consume human meat. The International Shark Attack file reveals that in the year 2011, only 12 deaths have caused due to shark attacks, whereas in the fisheries regulated by humans, millions of sharks are being killed, so the picture stands clear as to who needs to be more protected. So, as we have the power of conserving the nature, why not take a step and even if we do not have the time to make an effort to save them, lets not think about killing them. Source

In almost every country, there is a system that takes care of the law and order of the country, the citizens in general are supposed to abide by the laws of the country and if they are found to go against the law, they become punishable by the law. We all are aware of the reason why these laws have been formulated, for the smooth functioning of a nation which can only happen if all the citizens are able to enjoy their share of rights and they even they let others enjoy their privileges. As we know that there have been and would be cases when the set path is not covered, people tend to deviate due to various reasons, so the need for the intervention of the custodian of law and the courts of law are indeed regarded as the protector of the law. But why does it appear that the seekers of justice often get frustrated while dealing with the case. In essence, it is not the case but the trauma that it brings when the people waiting for justice to be delivered, have to got through a phase where their psychological, physical and financial strength is tested to its fullest. The cases that are filed in a court are often found to stretch across a period of several years, and even after the verdict is passed, the accused again appeals for his innocence in the higher level of courts and again the whole process needs to be repeated. The complainant or the individual who brings in the suit to the court, then is compelled to regret the decision of letting the court know about the wrong done to him, and is made to feel that it is all his fault. The lawyers on both for prosecution and defense keep on earning and at times do indulge in a bit of manipulation so that they continue with their earnings. The courts and the judges keep on changing with every session and end up becoming the some remote entity who is hardly interested to listen the pleas of the seeker. The time consumed in all these kills the plaintiff's want for justice and detaches him from hope. Moreover, he is much drained of with his financial resources. The same fate that one has to meet while demanding justice makes many people nowadays avoid pulling up their grievances to the courts of law.One thing is for sure that such loopholes are degrading the basic structure of any country that is democratic and the faith of its citizens on the the judicial system is being lost with every passing day. This issue is a serious one and ways have to be devised to bring everything back to order.I hope to receive replies with some ways that can relieve the commoners from the pain of waiting for justice and losing all hope.

Sheepdog, you know what even I am one of the sinners who has posted about the American elections, I thought that as a citizen of the US you would be really keeping an eye on the activities that are going on. Though I have posted about this matter, even I feel that indeed an overdose of activity is going on and the media is too busy to look into other matters even if they are milestones in the field of technological advancement. Regardless of all that, these guys at NASA, are carrying on with their awesome work and I am really looking forward to receiving more news about another jaw dropping invention.

I thought that this part of the forum would be the best section to post this, however, if it is not please place it in the most suitable section. In many of the families after the worries for basic necessities, it is the turn for the long occurring concern about the future of the child. The concern starts early in an age when the child is called a toddler, and is sent to a playschool, the reason cited for this is that the child would attain the qualities of playfulness and socializing with its own age group and also start to follow the a set daily regime. The next stage comprise of real study, I mean getting taught something in class and then after being back at home, going through it or if put in a vigorous form, mugging it. They are exposed to examinations and are expected to obtain whatever is expected. If they fail to do so, it is not just their family who brings down hell on them, but also the teachers and the other acquaintances that are much interested about how someone else's child fares in his studies. Now rises the question, why is the havoc created? Why does the matter come out to be so serious? It is because the academic performance of the child probably forms the base of the calculation of the child's future and then the tallying with the set expectations is done. When the parents have to face the fact that the academic trend of their children is not helping them to shape any ideas for his future, they end up taking that to their heart. The reality in terms of whatever has been proven has many a times shown and recorded in history as well, right from the first President of the United States George Washington, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, Henry Ford, Steve Jobs, Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie, Tom Cruise, Albert Einstein and many other famous people who could not gel well with the academic set up but proved their worth in their own way. Again there are a number of instances that can show that people who have been excellent in their academics, have failed to make their mark in the world. Some of them just ended up having a normal life.SO the question still remains whether being sound academically ensure success in the future as well? What's your take on this?

I just happened to come across an article that says that Facebook has developed a new tool called Unbaby.me, to get rid of all the pictures of the babies of their friends that are uploaded on the social networking site. The way the tool was presented really makes me wonder if having a look at someone's baby a real painful act? Some of the media organizations whom I do not wish to name, that have covered the tool advocate it saying that this would reduce the pain of the childless people who have to bear the pictures of joy of their friends having children. Now lets take other pains into consideration, there are many people who haven't been married, so all the pictures of a friends marriage can traumatize them, so please please develop a tool to cover up all the wedding pictures of that friend's marriage, also I am too busy to spend time with my family or to have a Saturday night out, so there should be a tool which enables me not to see the images of my friends partying hard.I know that sounds like absolute nonsense, mainly because Facebook is a social networking site, and people often cite socializing to be the reason for them clinging on to the site, but they wish to socialize excluding or preferring certain aspects of the society. I think that is too much inclination to convenience.I have a cousin who couldn't have a baby, and I totally understand, though not fully what she has gone through, but I never found her developing a feeling of disgust for babies, I know that at times there is too much of uploading even on those people's side who try to let their baby's lifestyle pass through your throat, but if tools to avoid one kind of images could be developed, then all of us can ask for catering according to our own preferences. This will ultimately lead to the decline main aim of the site.I have posted some pictures of what I came acrossJust take a look at the parts that have been highlighted, ( in an eclipse and underlined), people may have some "awesome stuff" to look at but is there really a need to despise the babies to a level that the pictures of a cat are preferred? Poor babies!

It has always been thought that the construction of dams and reservoirs would help in the conservation of one of the most essential resources of life on the Earth, water. But a recent study has found out that the same dams and reservoirs are responsible for bringing in an increase in the level of global warming or even being one of the primary causes of global warming. They have been found to emit greenhouse gases like methane which is supposedly 25 times more capable of gulping in heat than carbon dioxide. The activity of water being drawn up and down becomes the main reason of being responsible of emitting greenhouse gases, The study was conducted by the researchers in the Washington State University Vancouver studied thoroughly the Lacamas lake in Clark County, and after observing the water columns there, found that the dissolved gases would be released and the amount of methane 20 times when the water would be drawn down. The lake mud had some bubbles rising and they found that when the mud would face a drawing down the release of methane would be increasing by 36 times! This would certainly arouse the concern of the people associated with the cause of conserving the nature and control the emission of green house gases. Source
