I'd have to disagree with you there. Technology makes me happy every day. If it wasn't for technology I wouldn't have my job. I have no idea what I would do if I didn't have my computer to escape to at the end of every day. Sure it has transformed my life from being social and active to quiet and lazy, however I still prefer this lifestyle anyway. Now I know this makes me a slave to technology, but what is wrong with that? Its not like we would all drop down and die if suddenly all of the technology in the world were to be wiped out. Life would just be harder for a while because it would be a pretty major change, however we could still survive.

I had my share of getting in trouble in highschool. No it's not fun, however you need to put yourself in your principal's shoes. First of all most people who take jobs at schools are because they want to help young minds grow and learn. They did that because they just don't want you to do it again. It is nothing personal, if they really didn't like you they could have expelled you. Really suspension isn't that bad, it is not put on your transcript, and isn't going to affect you at all in the future, it is designed just to embarrass you and perhaps make you think of what you've done so you can grow in your maturity. School isn't just about learning math and history, it is learning how to successfully transition your life into society. If you start throwing punches on people on the street, you better believe that if a cop is there he isn't just going to tell you to hang out in your house for 2 days and think about what you've done. I know that sounds stupid now, but in time you will learn that your principal meant nothing personal in his actions.

I'm not sure if this applies to roosters, however some birds are able to lay eggs without a male, however, of course the eggs they lay have no offspring in them. However I am not a veterinarian, so I really have no idea how this is possible, or if this is how the hens that lay eggs for humans to eat. When I first joined Xisto almost 3 years ago, I really had no idea that I'd still be here today posting. I was looking for a free hosting mainly because I didn't have a job, and I didn't want to ask my parents for money for hosting a website. As soon as I was making income, I moved on to paid hosting, and I thought at that point I would never return to Xisto. And I did go away for a while, only coming back to ask the occasional question, however I did something I never would have guessed that I would do: I started posting regularly on Xisto, not for free hosting, or hosting credits, but it just was something I would do when bored, and the community started to grow on me. So now here I am 3 years later, at my 1000th Xisto post. So what is the point of this topic? I mainly wanted to thank everyone for making my stay here so amazing, and congratulate all of the other members who have reached 1000 posts and beyond and helped Xisto grow into more than just a place to get free webhosting: Hidden And of course we cannot forget our founder OpaQue. These members have made Xisto their second home, when they are angry, happy or sad they come here to write about it. They ask us for help and help others. Actually there are a few apps that require the GPS functionality of the new iphone and would be useless to put on an iPod Touch. Being able to get cell data is also useful when you're on the go and require the internet without wardriving around looking for an unprotected network. If you're thinking to get one or the other, and cant decide what to get, don't get caught up in the similarities. Ask your self, what do you need, a cell phone or and iPod? Just because the iPhone has iPod capabilities, and the iPod Touch has the ability to surf the web doesn't mean you should spend ages deciding which one to get. If you can afford the ATT service price I think you'll be happier with the iPhone just because you won't be limited to wifi networks, however if you can't the iPod touch is a decent iPod. If you need an iPod with a lot of storage, the classics have plenty of that. 32gb really isn't too much for some people.

You must understand, I wasn't talking about programming the entire thing in javascript, javascript would just do most of the work and run the programs, it would have a secure connection to a server and send and receive all data from that. Trust me, I know enough about how different languages work to know better to try that.

Cooltext a free online image generator that allows you to easily render logos and buttons with minimal graphics knowledge.

I actually wanted to make something like this. My idea was almost like eyeos. Programmed in javascript and a library for developers to program software for it. I never got around to finishing it due to lack of time, but I guess these guys beat me to it anyway.

A bit more information would be helpful. What url are you trying to connect to? Does the username match the username in your cpanel exactly? What port are you using to try to connect via? Has this username/password combination ever worked before? Have you attempted creating a new ftp account and trying that one?

I don't think this would be the greatest of ideas. When you close a topic you are depriving others from the opportunity of sharing their opinions. Granted, some topics should be closed, however if the admins give power to the topic creator I think many topics will be closed for illegitimate reasons. If you have a specific need for certain topics to be closed you can always PM a mod and ask them to do it, and if you have a good reason I'm sure that they will be more than happy to accommodate you. However, if the power is given to the topic creator, especially if that topic creator is new to the forum and is not used to how much this community uses the forum, many potential posts will never be posted.

I don't think most phones have GPS in them, yes some do, but I believe most are traced using cellphone tower triangulation. Meaning it figures out the signal strength of each individual cell tower that it picks up, and calculates the known location of those cell towers to approximate where you are. It's not too precise but it can be done without having to have a GPS system in your phone.

Well I wouldn't quite say no need. The two major hardware upgrades may make the new iPhone worth it for many people. Many don't like the slow speeds of EDGE and want faster speeds. The only big downfall to 3G is that the network isn't nearly as big as the EDGE network is, so you might have to turn 3G off in some areas to get a decent reception. And the GPS is wonderful for people who want to take the phone with you in your car and use it to navigate a new city. And there are some applications that require the GPS functionality to work (like Loopt).

Well syntax highlighting for php should be fairly easy seeing as php has a built in function to do it for you. highlight_string(). An admin would just have to add a new bbcode tag that ran all inclosing text through that function.

Well I did a search on ebay, they had that model camera at prices from $50-$125, however those all had 0 bids. In fact the first one with any bids was $24 with $10 shipping (all prices are USD). Now I'm sure some of those just started so you probably will be able to get more than $24, but ebay might not be the best place to post this since there are so many other people trying to sell this unit cheaper.

Well I suppose if you are talking about professional digital video editing software Final Cut Pro and Avid are the two used for the most major motion pictures. But you need to remember, people create things in windows movie maker because it is for consumers, just like Adobe Premiere and some of the others mentioned here. Yes they are better than windows movie maker, but they certainly aren't the best. And now with the prices of FCP and Avid dropping they are almost consumer buyable.

If a moderator or admin deletes your account, all of the topics and posts that you've made will go away, meaning all of the posts that other members have replied to you will either have to go as well or they will be very confusing. Is there any particular reason why you want to delete your account? If there is a specific topic that you don't want to be public I know the forum moderators can hide that topic, but deleting every post that you've made will make any member who has posted under one of your topics lose credits.
