Time And Light Just simple Physics?
Unregistered 015 replied to dodgerblue's topic in General Discussion
This is called time dilatation There is also another concept concerning lenght called lenght contraption Those are part of special theory of relativity. Actually it's nothing "special" if you consider speeds way below the speed of light. But, if you go for higher speeds, those count. The point is that every spot in the universe has it's cordinates given by P(x,y,z,t) not by P(x,y,z). That means, that every spot has it's own frame of reference and its own time. -
Americans don't have a clue about football (soccer), and thats why FIFA series suk :PPES and Winning eleven are much better games (I think those use the same engine, by konami).

OMG, look at this post: Looks like out Sun needs money to live! LOL

Time And Light Just simple Physics?
Unregistered 015 replied to dodgerblue's topic in General Discussion
Why would this happen? Speed of light © is ~300.000km/s (c=300.000km/1s). If time "stops" then the speed would be ~300.000km/0s (0s since there is no time), and that is infinite. Infinite speed sounds bizarre to me. Looks like nothing is going to catch you. (looks like I'm lost in tougths) Anyway, here is the question: If I'm aboard the spaceship traveling at the speed of light, and ship "fires" me in a capsule at the starting speed of 1000km/h, at which speed am I going to travel? (c+1000km/h)??? -
I know a good "tool" to increase PC performance. It's called MONEY. Yea, right, money. Put a few $ and I'm sure your performance is going to flourish.Ok, now to get real :PI'm going to get a bit more into virtual memory thing, then the frist poster.Virtual memory is used whenever your PC runs out of physical memory, not always. It just help's your computer to run some big nasty program that can't fit into RAM by themselfs. Having more virtual memory does not mean better performance! Actualy, if you have too much VM, your PC might run a bit slower then usual (if you force VM usage), because Hard Drive is much, much slower then electronic component such as RAM chip. The best combination to go for (on average) is to have a lot of RAM, and use VM very rarely. If your procesor is running at, let's say 1Ghz, you might want at least 512MB of RAM. If it is a 3GHz processor, go with the 3GB of RAM. It's cheap and it's the best way to improve performance. I dont want to go into details here, there is a lot behind this, but it works. If you are not sure if your PC needs more RAM or not, just look for that LED (light emitting diode) showing HD activity. If it is offten light then you need more RAM (or if you hear your HD running all the time). When it comes to defragmentation, well, that's a good thing to do. But, there is no need for offten defragmentation if your disk is not used that much (if you have enough RAM, and not using VM a lot). In WinXP, you can have the report by analysing your disk (or partition) and Windows recommends defragmentation if there is need for it. So "obey the law". I would also add that you should scan your drive using scandisk from time to time (once a month would be nice) but with surface scan included. Some of you will find their PC's running much faster after that. I would not go into details here too, but it fixes some errors (bad setors, allocation, etc.)One more thing: don't put to many programs in startup routine. That is, dont have to many icons in taskbar (windows) Everything you see there is acctualy a program, a piece of software which need resources (and sometimes those resources need other resources). So, dont do that. If you for example have "Weather watcher" installed (or any similar program) dont make it run at the startup. Rather, put an icon on your desktop, and whenever you need to know what's the weather like, run it! (and close it imedietly)Conclusion:- don't spare $$$ on RAM, (your disk will run smoothly and will last longer)- defragment your disk from time to time (twice monthly is ok)- use scandisk when needs arise (you hear strange sounds inside)- dont have to much programs run at startup (and at all times, close any you dont use right after use)- don't kick your PC if it's not responding, reset!

Best NFS series? - Which is the best Need fer Speed serie
Unregistered 015 replied to Milli Riba's topic in Computer Gaming
This poll's title should be:"Whis NFS in series have you played?" or you should say "only vote if you have played ALL of them!" I've played all of them and I there is only one I still play and that one i Prosche Unleashed. Underground series are good too, but to "arcadic" for me, since I like reality in driving games, and play them using my wheel. -
Replace: <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%" height="100%">with:<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%" height="100%" align='center'> This should do the trick.

First computer I had was Commodore 64 (as many of people I saw here). Specifications:- 64K base memory (there was also improved version called commodore 128 with 128K)- tape drive (for casettes, same as audio cassettes)- disk drive (5,25" disks)- few joysticks during its lifetime - and other cables for connecting to tv and printerI had about 200 cassettes, most of which were games (I still remember some of them and I can tell you that todays games are 80% just remakes of those!!). Later when I got disk drive I also got some 5.25" disks (among them was "Defender of The Crown", very famous game of that time).Next computer I got was Amiga (I think 500). This was also a good personal computer, much more powerful then Commodore, Spectrum and others. I had some good programs for Amiga (graphics programs, probably the firs graphics editors in the world, and then I remember having some version of today's word). Then Atari came up with their PC, which unfortunately I never had.I sold those computers, and that is something I will never forgive myself (since they would make a nice collection today). I think I gave my C64 for about 50$

Just to add that you will need a good editor for writing php code, and one of the best yet simple editors I've come accross is PHP Desinger 2005 (and it's free)!

Here's the list:- money for laisure - money for friends, love and sex (people fall for this a lot today) - money for porsche (so I could easly obtain the above and look under the hood of one amazing machine) - money for college (so I could educate myself and become better and more useful person) - etc. the list goes on and on.... GET REAL MAN! You can't survive without it in todays world. Those are nice toughts of yours, but, again, get real. I'm not into the "most expensive hotel" but next generation PC is first thing on my wishlist. AND it's not because I want to be "cool", but because, I need it. Ferrari could provide me with the adrenaline rush I need sometimes, too.

Mind is very powerful tool. Your uncocious makes things happen in this world. Whatever you imagine and belive hard enough that will come true. If you read "Think and grow rich" by Napoleon Hill you will se that many self made milionaries were thinking this way. They always were positive, and always had a clear goal in their mind. When you put something in your subconciousness it is going surely to come true one day, whatever it is. The point here is to be positive, when all your hopes are gonne. Thomas Edison was asked once by journalist:"How many times have you tried to build a light bulb?", he said:"5000 times". Journalist said:"You failed 5000 times and you still dont quit". "No, no", said Edison, "I've found 5000 ways how you cant build a light bulb!"So always be positive, and one way to do that is to put it in your subconcous!

Why? Why don't you kill your mom? AI is a great part of HUMAN activity and plays important rule in tomorrows science. There will be things (acctualy there are things right now), that need AI. OCAC said: And I would put importance on: reasoned conclusion of facts by an non-living entitiy Here is an example of AI: http://www.alicebot.org/ This is FAR away from achieving. We, humans, don't even know how our brains work (we know only about 3% of it's functions, I think). Anyway, there is a lot more to be done in neuro science, before we can pass onto creating humanoid robots. I Robot is a book by Isaac Asimov. Great guy (was), who writes about a lot of interesting things. I've read his book called "Colapsing Universe", and it's great (despite the year it was published, 1974, I think, cant remmeber) but I haven't reat "I robot" yet. I've never heard about the movie, so I might look for that too.

Could this nanothing be used to alter someone's genetic chain? That way, some mutations are possible, and, of course, curing of some big deases (aids, cancer, etc.)

I was wondering when something like this should come out. Now its almost here. Great news.I one of the articles I read that "quality will be a little lower". I'm not sure how little is that, but I hope not to bad, to be used at least for new e-books (not pdf )
