I did a paper on Canadian Heroes once, some fictional and others non-fiction. I can't remember the full name of the person I did but I remember that her first name was Emily. It was in Grade 12 english which was Canadian History aka. I do understand that many of those people have done great things and are spoken of openly in Canada. I know that Terry Fox is the most talked about here atleast. My school did a walk for the rememberance of Terry Fox on Friday for a mile which isn't really long but it still felt kind of good. I remember that since my class was doing something on it. I believe you had to vote online, I can't remember because it was almost a year ago. When voting I did Terry Fox. I have known about Terry Fox's story since I was about 3. I can't really remember much from what I knew then but I knew that what he did was truly outstanding.

To me it's like 'Monkey See, Monkey Do'. A lot of children idolize people older then them and when they hear them cursing the children will do the same. Once that child does start swearing the child will turn the language onto another child and the pattern continues. They want to be like the older people, whether it be the way they dress, talk, act, or what ever. When I see someone younger then me throwing off the F-word, I can't help but think to myself that these kids are too young to be saying stuff like that. I didn't even say the words 'Crap' or 'Heck' until I was like 13. I didn't start swearing until I was about 15 and now it's become a second language. When I think about my niece who looks up to me start swearing and cursing I can't help but feeling a little bit ashamed because I am teaching her this. When I see my 14 year old sister whom started swearing openly at 11 I usually have to tell her to watch her language or threaten her.I can't stand to see younger children swearing at their parents or any other elders. I have respect for my elders and when I see this going on it seriously gets me ticked. I can't help but say something rude and obnoxious to them and it all gets turned around on me because the parent of that child always gets in the way of that.

Your Fav Day Of The Week? Why? self explanatory
Frayed replied to BeyondEarth's topic in General Discussion
My favorite day is Thursday. In school it is a shortened day. My school hours are usually from 8:30am - 3:30pm... but on Thursday it's from 8:30am-1:00pm. Also I get my allowence, child support, and pay cheques on thursday so all in all it's definitely my favorite day.My second favorite day is Saturday because I get to sleep in until what ever hour I wish to sleep in until... of course I do that on school days anyways . I really don't care for the rest of the day once I wake up, nothing to watch on T.V, no one usually on computer, drinking or partying on Saturday is no fun because Sunday gets wasted by sleeping or an hang over screwing up my sleeping pattern, and etc.I hate Wednesdays, the day is so long! It does work for my advantage when I'm doing a time eatting project or what not. -
I haven't drinken just normal milk since I was about 8. I think it's disgusting... really sour to me. I won't eat cereal. I do use it for cooking though.I also drink chocolate milk every 6 months or so. I also will have a strawberry milkshake every 2-3 months. Milk makes me really sick so I don't drink it much. My calcium is really bad. My nails break easily and I easily break bones. I don't know if my hair has anything to do with it, but it seems to be falling out more then the statistics say.

I use Windows 98SE currently but I'll be upgrading to Windows XP. I have to wait a few weeks for my XP Installation disk, which is coming in via mail. >.<

Too Much Homework! I have too much homeworkWhat about you?
Frayed replied to thecatcart's topic in The Vent
I don't even know yet. I have only gone to 3 out of the 9 school days so far. I bet I have a lot of home work now. I don't really care for home work at the first two months, I can do it quickly. Projects usually screw me up though, I tend to waste all my time doing something other then the project and it ends up not getting done so I then have that for home work then that's usually when my home work starts really piling up. -
I used Geocities for the first site I ever built without a page builder or Frontpage. I would still be using Geocities if they hadn't gone and made a ad that blocks 1/4th of your site. I never ran out of space for files, but my bandwidth was drained up quickly. I would always upload stuff onto my site for future referrences, and when I went to go and get the files again... I wouldn't be able to access my site and I'd have to try get into File Manager.I agree that it is great for beginners, especially since most of them don't really care about the ads or have to worry about bandwidth. Most Geocties sites don't have a lot of visiters coming to the site unless it's been forgotten and really old.

The first time I heard My Chemical Romance's song "I'm not okay, (I promise)" was about a year ago or so. One part that stuck out in the song was: I really wanted to know what the word Frayed meant so I looked it up in the dictionary and it means "To become worn away". I really liked the word so it stuck. My username was going to be FrayedWings if Frayed was taken because FrayedWings takes to long to type. So I guess cheesy music influenced my name, I kid.

Do You Think That Friday The 13th Is Bad Luck?
Frayed replied to karlo's topic in General Discussion
I don't really believe in bad luck or good luck. For me it's like if it happens then it happens. I don't believe it happens for a reason at all. My answer for your question is no. My reason being is that I've never had an unlucky Friday the 13th in the 17 years I've lived. I have yet to hear of any bad luck cases from people that I know happening on Friday the 13th either. If people set themselves up to think that something may happen on that day then it may very well be that something bad happens only because they were to worried about bad luck then to think of anything else. -
Spyware doesn't really bother me, it's adware that really makes me angry. I use to have spyware and adware problems but since my last reformat it really hasn't been as bad because I hardly download anything. The most I download are just brushes for photoshop.I use spybot for my spyware problems, haven't really had any spyware problems in about 5 months so I'm all good. As for adware, it comes and it goes.

I love music, I sing it, write it and listen to it. I can't stand people that don't actually sing but scream or rap. I admit to liking some songs that follow in the screaming or rapping catogary but they're not what I usually listen to.My music lately has been a lot of ninties music... a few months ago it was 80's music. I like older music. It can range from the 1950's to well 1996. Anything after that was all spice girl and backsteet boys mania which I've already experienced. My main type of music I tend to listen to is Rock. My second type is country, I love old country from 1970's - 1994. I have so many CD's and tapes from country artists it's unbelievable... the reason for that is because they're so cheap now. I love 80's pop as well, I am addicted to The Pretenders, Pat Benatar and David Bowie... har.

What Are You Willing To Give Out? How much info?
Frayed replied to wild20's topic in General Discussion
I won't give out much information. Maybe a bit of my name and a sign up email. I usually use a fake address as well as a fake postal code. I don't want to be a victim of identity theft no matter what. Even if a site has high security I refuse to still give out any information over the internet. -
I learned guitar from grade 7-8. The only songs I can remember playing are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Amazing Grace which weren't really that hard to learn! I remember learning to play O'Canada but I can't remember how to play it anymore. My guitars strings are all broken off because my brother got mad at me. So I haven't played in years but I still remember some.

I use to be a forum junkie on VoteMeOff about a year ago. Before that I was a forum junkie to WTD (No link, no full name) before they made it 18+. VoteMeOff is a friendly yet very cocky community because almost everything goes. It's a game. The only thing you require is a picture of yourself. It's not a rating place but a game place where you get voted off, if you're smart you won't. The forum is their main attraction because all the people that where under 18 from WTD all migrated there. New people coming here and there. You have to be really out there or else no one will accept you. Annoyances are not tolerated. They will run you out. Vanity is not important, it's the teams. =)

Not much of a fan of Heavy Metal but I sometimes listen to Black Sabbath, Metallica, and Iron Maiden.

I absolutely love New York. I have only been there twice and I loved it the same each time I went. It's completely wack there compared to where I live. My whole province is like a small city out there, it's crazy.

I have many hobbies, but most of them are slimmed down or on hiatus because school is here and I want to go to University so school comes first. My hobbies: Sleeping, watching television, driving, car rides, drawing, writing, hanging out with friends, listening to music, shopping, and riding horses. My hobbies when on the computer: Photoshopping, researching(nerd), being an obsessive yaoi fangirl, talking on my instant messenger, and working with notepad. My addictions are: Food, Queer as Folk, diet Coke, anime, and my big Tinky Winky I sleep with.

I have one, my sister has one, we share two so that makes four. The ones we share don't work so we use one for spare parts and another is just old... like from 1988. I bought my own computer and my sister got hers free .

No I don't have any tattoos yet, I saved those for when I turn 18 because with all the piercings I've gotten my parents would not sign a permission sheet saying I may get a tattoo.I turn 18 in a few months *yay* and my brother said he'd pay for me to get my tattoos when I turn 18. Anyways the tattoos I want are two small wings on my ankles. I saw this one cartoon years back about this guy (I can't remember his name) who killed Medusa (I think it was Medusa) and was given a bunch of armor (I think) and one where these shoes... or maybe they where actually a part of him (I don't know); anyways there where wings on his shoes/ankles.I wanted to do an angel, and I wanted to get a tattoo of wings on my back. I decided to go against both (for now) and still get the wings... only on my ankles.

What Day Is The First Day Of The Week? What do you think?
Frayed replied to Dooga's topic in General Discussion
I believe that Sunday is the first day of the week because there are 7 days in a usual row on a Calendar and the first day is usually a Sunday and ends with a Saturday. I follow my Calendar so I vote for Sunday. My computers clock goes as Monday being the first day of the week, it kind of confuses me whenever I need to reset my clock.I believe that Monday is the start of the work week though, because when people use working days they leave Saturday and Sunday out. -
I like to watch movies with my mom, and the usual movies tend to have sex scenes. I feel really uncomfortable, I feel the need to look away and I usually blush when she looks at me. When I'm watching those types of movies at my dads house I pretend to talk to my sister while those scenes are going on. Even a kissing scene makes me unconfortabe with both of them because they're always making comments about the way they kiss and how 'I wished it was me'.

Poll: What's Your Eating Style? Alone, semi-alone, or in a group?
Frayed replied to Kim's topic in General Discussion
At school I usually don't eat, I will just wait until supper time to eat or snack after school. If I do eat during school hours I usually just go to a McDonalds or A&W for lunch with friends. I don't like eatting alone, if I do eat alone it feels as though everyone is staring. When I was working I never at at work either, I'd maybe buy a water and a smarties once and a while and eat them alone because me and the other person working in my department use to take turns taking breaks. I only had two friends that worked where I worked... and it has about 500 people employed too (Great Canadian Superstore). These people where school friends though. -
The reason I don't like Greenday is not because of their music but because of their attitude. I can't really remember what made me offended but it got to the point of me absolutely despising them. I will admit to liking 'Wake me up when September ends', it was catchy and I'm a sucker for catchy music. As for my type of music..."I like that old time Rock 'n' Roll. That kind of music just soothes the soul" as Bob Seger sang it. I like most music from 1950-1990. The only thing 'new' I like to listen to is Alanis Morissette back in the ninties... after her first attempt at pop music and before her second attempt at pop music.

I am kind of excited for school, but I'm kind of dreading it. I dropped out of school for my last semester of highschool because I kept on having rank anxiety attacks and I'm afraid I'll drop out again. I don't really care for school sports or meeting people. Bordem has really taken it's toll, but it feels like summer hasn't even started yet for me... heh.

I've had my neighbors call the cops on me once for loud music because... that's how I like it.I almost got the cops called on me once too, but if they would have I would have been arrested or gotten charges against me. When I was 15 I went out to the lake for my families annual reunion we seem to have every year. Anyways I had brought one friend and one of my cousins brought one of his friends and we hung out most of the trip along with two other cousins. The night before we all where going to leave we all went walking around the camp grounds... one thing led to another and we were taking other peoples alcohol. Once drunk we started going around the camp ground again and started stealing peoples properties. After the camp ground we went to the cabins and t.p'd them put their outside decorations all over the place, stole alot of the cabins stuff, and stole some guy that worked theres smokes... our night was over and we all went to our cabins/tents.We went to bed and got woken up with the camp owners outside our tents and cabins about to call the police. Someone had told that we had done it and we had to clean out the bathrooms, dig up holes, clean up garbage, and mow the grass so they wouldn't call the police or press charges.Needless to say they all blamed me for telling when it was one of the other cousins who squealed on us.
