Hi, I first learnt coding/website design when my brother introduced me to HTML a couple of years ago. Since then I have used it over and over again. I recently just finished a project using a Text type website tool. I do however (and always will) have a taste for aceHTML. I think it's great in just about every way. Thanks. I learned HTML back in 1997 - 1998 with a Sony WebTV, and a HTML for Dummies Book.

I am older and wiser now so I use Frontpage, Dreamweaver, Homesite, and my fav. Notepad.

this is a good one -

i learnt simple html from a book when i was about 11/12. i used notpad and paint to make very simple websites. how sweet. best of all i used to write out the code on paper so i could see it and change it before i got on the computer.

-- i designed my first website in a church during a classical music concert my parents took me to. beat that i challenge you!! --

if it need any website help now its w3schools or possibly http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

i think view source and using the developers toolbar on firefox help to understand and evalutate other peoples sites is a very useful way to learn

I taught myself it just by looking at random sites source. Its really not that difficult to learn. You just have to take the time to learn it. I think I used my old b.net clan site for learning most of it but any site works.

I first learned when I was about 11-12 years old.. lol, my Dad had a couple of HTML book s around so I thought I'd see what I could do, I saw alot of site for games and stuff like that (mostly with Java...) so I was more interested in that aspect than the actual markup.. I just wanted to know how to put myself on the 'net :(. I was also very interested in VRML... well I haven't seen much of that, but who knows? I mean XVRML anyone?? lol :PAfter that web tutorials took over, as well as reading through premade javascripts.. so I learned "DHTML" that way... and then CSS of course.. :P So I mostly just picked up tidbits along the way.. :(I don't think a class will do much for you. to be honest I think it holds you back too much.. I'm a homeschool kid tho so I like to do things my way.. which is learn it and apply it! lol.Now I create failry dynamic web pages.. although I've done waaay to many for free.. hmm I should get on this! lol.. Good experiance tho. I now know Flash, HTML, "DHTML", Javascript (a bit rusty on it tho), CSS, and I am learning PHP... all that started with the selfish nototion to have everyone notice me!!! How ironic.. :o

I basically taught myself HTML. I understood the idea of <> and </> but everything else was trial and error. It took me a few months but I got quite a bit down. It's actually quite a logical language.

It's coming up on 2 years since I learned HTML (and now I am already working on advanced languages like PHP! lol)I was asked to work on this Geocities hosted web page and I was new to the whole web page thing. I opened up the index.html page in the Geocities editor and saw it was HTML, I quickly ran and grabbed my HTML book (still have it somewhere) and started seeing what each tag was.I then started my own site in Tripod (designed it in MS Word and coded it through Tripod). Bravenet.com was my favorite site when I first began! So many cool tools to add.Well, I am still learning new tricks in HTML that I never knew. My mom was taking this one Information Technology course at the college she works for and bought this better HTML book. It has so many cool functions in it that I wish I could have learned two years ago.Gotta love when you begin coding. Best moment in your life to finally see your webpage live.[N]F

I went to a friends Forum Only site, in which he had a tutorials thread, and i was bored enugh to go through them and one was HTML. that tutorial was really dodge. only told you how to make a HTML page, write text, and change font and background colour. That was about two years ago. now i know a lot of CSS, HTML, a bit of ASP and am starting C++.

Always helps to have a few links handy to remember the basics.

The best site I know is HTML Goodies. It goes beyond the basics.

Another site is The HTML Pitstop

A very colorful site and one that might seem childish is Lissa Explains It All but it does have a lot of help in it.

Learning is fun.

Although I've read recently that HTML is going by the side as XML is going to be the new standard.

Always something new!

I learnd HTML 7-8 years ago, when I spent a whole lot more time on Internet than I do now.... Anyway, those days HTML was much more simple, there was no such fancy thins like flash and such, only plain HTML... And the most interesting this was that only porno sites had nice designs, and all othes was such a pice of crap...
