Bluebear 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2008 I loved one of the pictures of your dog. Such a lovely dog. Some of the images seems to be a bit unclear, and some angles are not that flattering and good. I also liked another picture, but it is hard to tell what it was. The picture of the cat would be cool if it was a bit clearer. Try some different angles, and I am sure that you will improve. Csshih 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2008 (edited) may I ask the make and model of your camera?just wondering.I like the cat pictures.or picture. Edited July 16, 2008 by Csshih (see edit history)
bishoujo 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2008 I like the picture of your dog. It has a very sweet expression, and the picture is sharp enough. As for your other pictures, just like what Bluebear said, they are a bit blurred and the angles they are shot from aren't meaningful. Still, practice makes perfect, so continue taking more photos! samlockart 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 Good pictures, try stabilizing the camera a little more. Also use the rule of thirds, that can help a lot. Picture the image you are going to take broken into 9 squares. Try placing the focal point on one of the corners of a square!Sam.
Mermaid711 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 That first picture of your doggy was a very professional looking shot. It was from a good angle, the positive and negative space was balanced, the lighting was decent, and yeah. How ever the other pictures weren't exactly as good.I thought the cat picture was hilarious. Really. But it was fuzzy. (No pun intended.)Now it would be nice if you would tell us the type of camera you have so we could tell you if it was good or worth upgrading. Also try different angles, and lighting. Don't use the flash so much, because if you're photographing an animate being, than it will cause red eye, and if you're photographing something shiny it will reflect, and anything else just looks bad with that kind of flash. And your brother needs art lessons. One more thing: Practice makes perfect with image editing software. cangor 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2008 I really like the shadows and the first picture of your dog. it's a very cute picture.quality's really tough with digital cameras, but I agree try to work on the sharpness of your pictures (I have horrible shaky hands when taking pictures so I know how hard this can be...) rvalkass 5 Report post Posted July 18, 2008 http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  Slightly blurry. It looks like the camera moved as you took the shot. If the camera has image stabilisation, turn it on, and remember to keep your hand as steady as possible. Also, you appear to have got the shadow of yourself in the shot - try to avoid that if at all possible.  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  Much clearer this time, and the effect is quite good. If you've got manual focus on your camera, try experimenting with the focus to focus on wheels further away from you, which can add to the effect.  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  Good - this time you're not in it  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  Cutting the stand off wasn't a good idea, and most of the subject doesn't contrast with the background (grey floor, grey/silver bike parts) apart from the pedal.  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  The handle is too out of focus to be recognisable, and blocks the remainder of the subject that is in focus. Generally a soft focus is used to draw attention away from an object, so placing it centre-shot is not usually going to work.  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  The contrast between the sky and the flag is good, and makes for a nice effect.  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  Unless you were on a very steep hill, steep angles are not often a good idea  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  The definition in the picture appears to be in the wrong places. I would try to make the facial features clearer and lose the reflection of the photographer in the glasses. The loss of definition in the background is good, but shouldn't continue onto the jumper of the subject.  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  By far your best shot, and very professional. I can't fault it - very well done!  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png  Blurred again - see earlier tips.  http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png   One of your main problems seems to be keeping the camera steady as you take the shot. Look into using a monopod, tripod or a Gorillapod to steady the camera and help you compose your shots.

anwiii 17 Report post Posted March 27, 2009 i know this is an old topic but saw some negative responses without legitimate reason.for a photo class, i like the pictures. i noticed the creativity that went in to taking some of them...and i assume the patience as well with your cat. those are the first two qualities every good photographer needs.keep it up, free your mind. there is ALOT you can do with the camerabtw- i loved the picture of your gr puppy. instead of still shots, think of action shots you can set up with a tennis ball and a quick trigger finger(very low or very high shutter speed depnding on what type of effect you want)your apperature setting on the flag shot i didn't understand only because the flag is more relevant than a tree branch which should have been the image out of focus...keep things up though bud, again, i liked your pictures. it's a new world...especially if you ever have the opportunity to develop your own film or edit your own pictures.most importantly, have fun....and if others don't appreciate your pictures, screw 'm because they don't know what sort of work and effort it took.....creativity and patience...
