This is by far the dumbest law ever made by any country in history. If you want to bring a PSP, Ds, GBA or something to your trip if you ever indeed get bored you get fined! What is greece thinking. This is aagainst freedom of speech or play! lol. Plus kids love video games and online play definatley gives them something to compete for after they do HW and all the other stuuf their parents force them to do. I can see the portable ones being banned alittle but everything else, consoles, pc games and such, are horrible. I wonder iof they will ban flash internet games too.Why dont you guys go aahead and ban ketchup because you dont likethe sounds of the squishy coming out.Once the next greek leader comes into service this law will be revoked. As you can see whoever this leader is he obviously had a grudge on video games and has no knowledge whatso ever. What about phonics on PS2!!!!!! Why ban that as well.

The ban was lifted ages ago. And it was there because the government couldn't tell the difference between general games and those used for online gambling (which were banned before then).Nothing to do with grudges or what not... just plain and simple ignorance.

how can you not tell from gambling machines and video games really wtf are thinking come to las vegas and we will tell you the differance between them and video games. well i got a goo idea get a boat go out to sea a bit and play video games :Pits true video games make me think crazy stuff like "it me Mario welcome to nintendo 64" B)well the fact that its happening at greece that the stupid parents here are still trying to do it, well at least we got the you have to be at 18 to get rated M games but no one really follows that rule i should know i have been carded once at walmart and thats it.

Well first I would think, What kind of tourist would go to Greece and play video games? If I went to Greece I probably would be at the beach or somewhere else and I would try to avoid computers and stuff like that, but personally I think that this law is ridiculous. Its like invading peoples private property. You cant tell people what to do with their cell phones, or their money or lives. Its not like drugs or something similar, video games are sort of like a virtual sport, and some are really good for exercising your mind. That is so ridiculous.

Hmm..I think that's pretty pathetic. What are they trying to gain by that? In my opiniion it wouldn't lessen crime, it would cauase more due to angry(and most likely borde) people. Video games are a way of releaving stress, I believe. In games you can kill kill kill, and get rid of the urge to do it in real life. I think death rates in greece will rise because of bordom. Lol, joking with that one, but it's pretty outragoues to ban games.

hmm i dont think that they still have this law, cuz it is really stupid and 3 years old. Last year i was in greece and everyone had cell phones there, so i dont think that they still use that law. I read somewere that on guy got 5 000$ dollar bill for that he had cell phone and gameboy

I think that this is a fool law, but you haven't understand it. You can't play games outside your home. You can play with your PC, mobile or console in private, but you can't do this in public. This is make the law more human, i think.

Responding to what One Piece Said (too long to quote), that would explain a lot. I started reading posts and it seemed like it would sort of be impossible to do that because people can play video games in their household without anyone knowing about it. It'd be horrible to not be able to play video games but I can understand the gambling and what not outside of casinos. If people were to not go to Greece though for a law that doesn't let you play video games, that'd be pathetic because I think you can survive a few days without them because when you visit a place you are supposed to be sight seeing or whatever but I guess in the down time you'd have to do something. It'd be interesting if someone were to do that actually, get rid of bad influence but they help teach you things though too.
