arnz 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 I learnt HTML in WYSIWYG editor (eg Frontpage) within a few days. It took me a bit longer (about a week or two) to learn it manually via code. Since then I learnt a bit more beyond it and the later extensions (eg ASP, PHP, and so forth). So interestingly enough, if you just want to create a simple or organised type page, a WYSIWYG editor such as Frontpage or Dreamweaver may do. I use the later for its CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) capabilities.Manually may be good as well, but some may not have the patience to type it up manually the whole day, or either some do not wish to learn the HTML language. Imtay22 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Ummm.... I would learn XHTML, They don't make newer versions of HTML any more. I would also learn PHP. All the necessary tutorials are at http://www.w3schools.com/.It took me an hour to learn the basics there. ~Imtay22
~Dave 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 it only took me a weekend to learn the basics, like building a homepage and all but i still got alot of studying to do before i can say i "know" it i'd say in a few weeks anyone should be able to learn it! CinnamorollTK 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 It took me a few months to learn HTML, but it wasn't a big priority. Plus, there are so many websites out there that give you the codes you need if you can't figure out what to do. I prefer PHP for making blogs and other more complicated things than just posting pictures like an album. (PHP can help with making an online album, too)
kraizii88z 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 Learn it step by step. Learn only what you need to know, when you need to know it, example: don't learn how to use frames if you're not designing a site with frames. Focus only on the useful first, then apply it to the situation, kick and scream when it dosen't work, figure out why it dosen't work, then make it work! Then do it again with something else. Trial and error is the best way. Just go in and get your hands dirty like a new surgeon, but try not to kill anyone...Pretty soon you'll be doing it with your eyes closed. TripleH13 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2007 well at first it is very hard to try and get used to using HTML but after a while you get the hang of it. For my first website (which was friend pages) i had to know how to use HTML and it was very tricky at first. I didn't exactly know what i was doing. But then after reading about HTML i started to be able to use it a lot easier. It only would really take sometime to read about it and then you should be able to do some more of the basic stuff and then you could move on to more advanced stuff. But personally, it took me about 2 weeks for the basic's and it took me about 3 weeks to learn some more advanced stuff and I've been going on from there. But yeah i would start reading about how to do some stuff on Google as soon as possible because the sooner you start, the less time it'll take and before you know it you'll be a pro. Trust me, i know from experience. Don't give up on it because it's confusing in the beginning. I was planning on doing that but then i realized that if i just gave it some more time, i would get better. So don't give up and start looking on Google ASAP! Hope I helped!! RedAlert 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2007 I didn't really sit down and study it, I just picked it up as I used the Internet. It's an incredibly simple language and I wouldn't imagine it taking more than a day or so to get a good grasp on.
galexcd 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2007 photobucket used to have this thing called practice html. About 7 years ago when i knew nothing about computers I used that and the little buttons that added tags for you to make <b> <u> <i> <a> <img> tags, and went on from there. I later learned tables and finaly the important stuff: CSSI only recently learned php (just a few years ago) but it has easily grown as my favorite programming language. andybebad 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2007 It's an incredibly simple language and I wouldn't imagine it taking more than a day or so to get a good grasp on.I agree with this. Though I didn't learn it in a day myself, if I had put forth more effort I could have probably gotten a better grasp on the language. Since I didn't though it did take me a couple of weeks (2 or 3) to get a decent grasp on the language.

WarFact 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 It didn't really take a whole lot of time. If you really sit down and take the time out to learn, you can do it in no time.I got a book called HTML in 4 hours, and I read it and it really helped me to learn the basic codes and the basics to make my first page. Then I just screwed around and made pages. One thing I did that really helped me was I downloaded a premade template, and messed with the already made HTML. I looked at how they used that HTML to create what I was looking at on the page. It really helped me out a lot.
AnkitGoswami 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 I actually learned html after mastering php. First it was a friend who wrote the html and did all the designing and I handeled the backend but slowly I became good with html also (guess you can't help it). Tetraca 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 By dibbling and dabbling with Macromedia Dreamweaver I learnt to create pages within a week or two, and then refined my code when figured out newer techniques.
