I myself am a MMORPG fan. I especially like those which are very complicated and keeps you busy. Not those which makes you bored after awhile.I would recommend either Guild wars or Roseon. Pristontale would be a good choice too but you only get to play till level 39 then you will have to pay. Guildwars is very focused on their 3D animation and design. I can tell they worked very hard on the models. For Roseon...well it IS created by Gravity which also made Ragnarok so i guess it SHOULD be good. For Pristontale finally, it used to be in Beta. But now i think they just went out of beta and is going commercialised.

Some Of My 3D Models im still learning..
evion replied to Shogi's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
What a model! It looks so realistic (expecially the last one). I've also tried modeling before with 3Ds max. Turned out I'm not one built for modeling. I really have no patience, AND my modeling is so pathetic. I don't see how i can model at all. Szupie's "voodoo" pic looks cool too. I especially how you like your "avatar" so much you would make it walk!! -
Are you sure its practical to sign up for something that hasn't been certified and tested by others? Google's adsense program although they do scam people but i still see so many people using it. So this means that they do give out money for advertisers. Yahoo!'s "adsense program might be better maybe but tell me: Who's richer?

I've seen many of my "pro" cousins always change their boot screens and login screen too. Of course I'm not a "pro" like they are. I know there's a risk to take when you try to change them but I just want to know how you do it and where can you get the code or something. Expecially the login screen and boot screen. I'm not sure about themes though. I really appreciate any help given. Thanks! I'm VERY bad in this kind of stuff. I only deal in digital imaging. So if I can know this stuff it will be a great help!

I have 2 computers side by side each other. I want to make a quick peer-to-peer network connection between both computers so both can surf the net at the same time. Is that possible? How am i supposed to do it? What kind of cables do i use. Both computers do have a LAN port installed already. I'm sorry if i use non-descriptive words in this sense because I'm totally poor in networks... If anyone can help me I'll be really glad!!

Training A Ranger In Aa What to do and what not to do
evion replied to evion's topic in Computer Gaming
Yeah i still have that account. With my Grey wolf in it... ='(Quite OK account with nice stats... I just hate to see it go to waste because i think Ancient Anguish is not good enough for me. MUDs make you very "IN" to it even though you are bored. I don't know why but MUDs are a little more exciting than those so called "cool" games... -
Ancient Anguish, an LPMUD, is quite shallow in giving you a great gaming experience but it has left me with a GREAT impression of MUDs that allowed me to move along with other MUDs. It's a great MUD to start with if you're totally "blur" with text-based games. Sure they don't have a tutorial but its experience that counts the most! =)Now I'll talk about my first character in AA, which is a ranger. Rangers are most proficient in adapting and survivng in the wilderness (Which is why i chose it because i ALWAYS get lost...). They have skills and abilities allowing them to make use of materials in nature to do certain things. Now i will write a guide on my experience of Rangers and how you should start about with it.>>{Rangers 101}>>Alright, when you begin, you have to be a definite half-elf or full elf race. Humans are OK but they do not make good rangers due to their lack of sensibility. The fact that elves have a high wisdom and dexterity allows it to be a better ranger than humans. When you start off, go 2 south. Which is "s, s" from there you type "grab newbie carving" or I think they might have shortened it do "grab newbie". From here on out, whenever you have any problems, you can type "new <message>" and someone in the newbie line will try to help you out. Rangers should increase their dexterity along with their wisdom. Of course strength and the rest of the stats are also important but dext and strength should be your main stats to start increase. I'm not going to tell you how to get to the ranger's guild to become a ranger because i feel that it is best you roam around on your own until you've got the whole town memorized in your head. Instead, I will tell about what rangers can do and what is most important to them. The skills and abilities of rangers are all different but each individual one plays an important part of a ranger's survival. One of the most "valuable" skills which i loved from the start is the "bearings" skill. This skill tells you the approximate location of where you are compared to the main town. It bases on North, North east, East, ... etc to give you a general direction of where you are. There is also a VERY neat set of skills i call the "Devouring of animals". Firstly after you have killed an animal, you "Pluck/skin corpse" it. Next, you "Carve corpse" it. Lastly, you "Gut corpse". These few commands may be simple but is so important to a ranger. Skinning a corpse enables you to have the "pelt" or feathers of a certain animal depending if it's a bird or not. With pelts, you are able to make items such as backpacks, sacks, shields, tents, and so much more. Carving and gutting are 2 extra skills of the set. Carving is getting meat out of the animal and gutting is extracting sinew or any extras that are left over.I cannot explain all at once so I'll come to a conclusion with a ranger's last piece of advice. A ranger's pet and partner, a wolf/dog. Have a pet wolf/dog allows more flexibility and speed. Although it takes tremendous amount of responsibility to keep a pet, (You have to feed it and train it) it is really valuable at times. It will help you attack the enemy and wolves/dogs are fast and have a high accuracy. These wonderfull creatures are a must-have for a perfect ranger. It is fun to watch them grow with you from a puppy or cub to a fully grown monster. Each individual wolf is also very different from other wolves. You may have a galiant-golden wolf while others may have a sweet-silvered one. It's all based on luck! Whatever the case of your ranger, I hope you do your best in this MUD. Might get very frustrated at the start and hard to train too. But later you'll find great friends and fun with just a litte mix of words and sentences!

I believe that this is quite true in MUD games especially on people with imaginative minds. A highly good MUD would be one with lots of description in it. What i mean is that lets say you've found an item on the floor which you don't recognise in real life and don't know what it looks like. In most MUD games, you are able to "look at" an item or "observe" an item. This brings out a description of the item. If the description is vague, chances are, what you imagine the item is in your mind might not be what the game creators expect you to imagine, and vice versa. The idea of MUDs is complex. I totally agree with Zandramas that playing a MUD is like reading a book. When you open it, there are so much possibilites of what is going to happen. This is what makes MUDs interesting for some minds. (LIKE MINE!!! ) Well I'd recommend good-old Achaea like what Xevian has been pestering for so long. But I'd say so only if you can be really dedicated to your character and MUD. If you're one who just like to roam around the MUD and have fun sometimes, try Ancient Anguish. All in all, I do NOT believe that MUDs should be made to be paid for to play. Keeping a good MUD server up does take millions of money!

Sometimes, i still really think technology has really grown through the ages. Who would want to waste time gardening or doing any other outdoor activity nowadays if they could play so many games on one computer. Everyone would rather have cool graphics in their games than just text text text. In fact, my first impression of MUDs are boring-text-based-uncool-game-of-the-drain. What are we to do? Most of us are already wearing glasses!

Oh COME ON! Citizens of the Earth! Has anyone thought how IF gmail is dangerous and may pose a threat to our confidential e-mails, they most DEFINITELY be sued or jailed for not conforming into the rights of their company. Google is a company which is looked-up to by many. It has developed and is still develping. We all know that Google's gmail is scanning our emails for detecting scams or junk of the sort, but they are doing it for our own use. Its free, big, and fast. Why waste it? Besides, if gmail is still in closed Beta with unknown bugs and errors, will YOU use it for important e-mails?

Some may think browser-based games are one of those "fast-yet-downloadless" kind of games. You get to play these kinds of games anywhere with a web-browser and internet. It's FAST, it's mostly FREE, and there's no hassle because its fast to load if you're with text-based browser games. Ah, this reminds me of MUDs, commonly known as "text-based" games. We all know that both of these games are very simple and they do not require extensive production times. They can be easily updated and "patched". Unlike downloaded games which are very problematic because you have to download the add-ons, sometimes they might have SEVERE maintenance times...etc. We all hate these type of games and many of us would always go with a quick game of MUDs while waiting for the downloads to finish of the maintenance to be done. But thats not the point here. What i'm trying to describe is what's so different with MUDs and browser-based games. Browser-based games might have like, lots of picturs to illustrate but mostly you would read text right? Obviously MUDs are TOTALLY text. I think that MUDs have a little more freedom in playing them and others might be more confining. Both are kind'of similar though don't you think? You'll have the basics on your RPG or strategy playing interface. then you have the extras in which you can have a little fun with. Downloaded games? Not much fun but more dedication and training. So what's up with these 3 types of games? I mean, which would be more fun?

Mozilla Browsers Do Not Accept Absolutepositioning
evion replied to evion's topic in Websites and Web Designing
YES! It finally worked! Thanks for your help! Mozilla IS a bit more strict in this html thing than i thought. iexplore accepts multi-"style" tags hehe. Just one more question: 100px in mozilla from the top margin is also equal to 100px from the top margin in iexplore right? -
Mozilla Browsers Do Not Accept Absolutepositioning
evion replied to evion's topic in Websites and Web Designing
EXCELLENT! I'm currently quite busy right now so I'm checking around my e-mail and got your pm. Thanks for your help. I'll try to work on it later. Thanks again! P.S Both methods worked hehe =) -
I've tried several times to get it to work but it still haven't seem to go with what i want. If you want an example here's one. (It's my site but i broke it down just for this...) http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Try this link with internet explorer and firefox or any mozilla browser. With internet explorer you should be able to see the 100px from top postioning. With mozilla, you see a normal iframe without any positioning. Problem? No idea. Hope someone can help me answer my question. I'm totally dumbfounded Thanks!

I'm really into DeviantART. Problem is they keep saying my ISP is blocked because someone did something wrong or very very bad and made them block my ISP from suscribing to deviantART... Sigh...I really want to join that place. Just the place i need to showcase my designs. Well that's not really a problem now. I'm switching to a new ISP in a few months after this contract is over. Got some promotion coupons...=)

Speaking of MUDs I only type 36wpm (50wpm if i'm in good mood) at normal speeds. Actually i think it depends on what kind of MUD you play. Ancient Anguish is easy going. Mostly everything is done for you. And you get aliases and all that in a game so you don't have to type so much. Achaea is also one of those easy-going MUDs but of course its not like Ancient Anguish you can just stand still while your character auto-fights. There's the "regaining-balance" scheme whereas you have to wait till you regain your balance before you can give another hit. Oh and those who are born computer maniacs around here, i guess you all are those fast typers. How do you type normally? I personally almost memorized the keyboard already but there are some punctuations that i usually get lost at. Mostly i stare at the screen and type though. Quite tough at the beginning but you will get used to it soon if you keep doing it and PLAY MUDS!! =)

We all take technology seriously, but has anyone thought how technology has made us so much more "intelligent" in a way that we feel that we should not "waste" time or others like "computer screens will spoil your eyesight if you look at it for too long". These are the results of increasing technology. My point is, we are totally missing out on the old days. No more running about in the countryside, no "family" time. These are usually dead spent on work/play/sleep/food. We are all humans and technology has no right to stop us from being what we have been before. Many people would say because we are all evolving into more "civilised" humans than before. I know we are all changing but is it all for the better? What are the consequences? What are the effects and results? Most of the population of urban towns wear glasses (Which you know the reason why). I myself wear glasses (I read too much...) and my whole family will too soon. I would like to know if any of you all can reflect on this matter and comment on what is to become of use if this continues. How much will it affect us?I would appreciate all comments made to this topic.

I'ma free-thinker and i have a few friends who tell me being a free-thinker means you are a non-believer. After that comment, I'm so flabbergasted. What could i say? I've seen many non-believers who are a specific religion of sorts. When i talked to these people, they usually want to keep the topic away from being "dead" or many "non-physical/non-answerable" subjects. Some may even concentrate on one idea like "I will die when I become sick or old and thats the end of my life PERIOD" And they stick to that idea throughout their whole lives.Being a free-thinker, I fairly agree on not exactly totally believing on one certain idea or religion. I take in all of the religions that i see and know and respect the religion's thinkings and practices as much as i can.I don't see why certain religions have to repel against one another.I just believe that everyone is born an equal and have the right to believe in what they want.If you have any comments about how i feel please feel free to post about it here.P.S I have NO intention of offending any specific religion.

I Support Microsoft ! i really do .. i dont care about you
evion replied to cryptonx's topic in Science and Technology
Wow. This topic has really hit the forum big time. Regarding the Mac and windows topic, I still agree on windows being a better OS. I like the newest version of the Mac OS theme though and for the dock, anybody heard of Yz Dock? Haven't tried it out yet but i just downloaded it. Seems innocent though (No hacks or anything if thats what u think ) -
Everytime i go to websites of MMORPGs like Roseon for example, i can always count on it that I'll get some sort of error. Pristontale: Its one big problem altogether. Sometimes they just don't let me in. I can't post on their boards because of who knows what, and logging in to their system seems to take a heck of a long time. The game is fantastic but with a poorly maintained website, what's the point? Comments on this?

Disabled The Shutdown Button? help urgent
evion replied to rockista's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Hey! This reminds me something about my sister's computer. Its a hp computer forgot the series name of it. I think there is something wrong with the main shutdown button on it. OK here's what happens, you press the shutdown/on button to turn the computer on. The computer starts normally, and it reaches the boot screen, the computer just stops working properly. I'm very sure the computer is still on and it's not something to do with the monitor. OK after saying all the details, let me tell you the funny part. When i switched off the main power socket, the whole machine turned off right? When i switched it back on a few seconds later, the computer started the whole process again. Any ideas to the problem? -
Kazaa lite is not bad, like marijnnn said, but it seems to not give away free downloads of the program anymore. I think you're going to have to get the whole file again from a friend or something. By the way anybody heard of imesh? It has alot of ads and i think it should be as bad as kazaa yet people say its good... Any ideas?

Hmm...it didn't increase user's posts. I was more or less thinking of increasing individual users' posts. I'm sorry but I totally do not understand mysql or php at all. I was thinking of taking a class on it but i do not have time. Hope this problem can be solved...=)
-
Yeah its weird 'cause I tried to access it just now but it didn't work. Now it does Not sure about that but I'm going to wait again and see what happens. If it happens again next time, I'll catch it RED HANDED!

Yesterday i tried to view it and it didn't work, showing up some weird mysql code (I'm a total noobie at mysql). Now i try to view it and it just doesn't load. Any ideas? My forum page is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Thanks
