  1. Thanks for sharing this I would like to add that this can be done just as easily on Mac OS X on Network Utilities which is found in the utilities folder on the system.
  2. I use Windows Live Messenger on Windows and Microsoft Messenger on Mac as my main ones. I occasionally will use AIM and Skype but most of my friends use Windows Messenger. I'm not into using all the fancy features and really hate it when people use them. Although I do like to have an easy to use messenger.
  3. Well I don't think he will be back very soon since he has now decided to pledge his future to Inter Milan so Wenger probably will leave him now.Shame really but I don't think if he did come back to the Premier League he would be the player he was before he left since he's getting on a bit.
  4. Out of all the different flash drives I have tried I would suggest that the only ones you stay well clear of is buffalo. The buffalo flash drives that I have tried never lasted longer that a week and to get the devices recognized was the biggest problem needing drivers off their site. The best pen drive that I have used was by a company called busbi although these are only available in the UK and Ireland. This pen drive not only has a decent transfer rate (Read: 8 Mb/s Write: 2 Mb/s) but also is reliable with 10,000 Write/Erase cycles. They also support plug and play for Linux and Windows.Another good pen drive that I have used is Sandisk Micro Cruzer U3, this one has applications like Skype, Anti Virus and Mozilla Firefox installed and ready to use on the pen drive wherever you go. This drive also supports file encryption. The only downside is that they can be very expensive for the amount of storage you get although sometimes they can be found very cheap.Other than buffalo as long as you go for a reputable company and make sure it's genuine I can't see you having any problems with it.
  5. Hi, The design of your site isn't bad and looks good for a fan website the only thing I don't like is the frame the content loads in but that is just a personal preference. There is a decent amount of content that would keep a viewer on the site if they are interested in the topic.I can see that there are meta tags for your keywords which will increase your search ranking.Overall I think that you have created a very good site and I wish you the best with it.
  6. I really like this layout however there is a problem with the header size it's way too big.The colours look good and blend well with the parchment which helps make the layout stand out.I don't like the font used in the header for the navigation but the side navigation font looks good.
  7. I really like the design and there seems to be a decent amount of users and posts which is a good sign of activity keep up the good work
  8. Nice post! It will show people new to web design what not to do unless they want the site fail badly and that they should do the complete opposite. Also looks like some of the things that I did when first stating out is on there which is maybe why I didn't get many hits on my 1st website.I feel Ads are ok as long as they are not plastered over the whole site and are your own not ones forced by the host.
  9. Stay well clear of 000webhost. My initial thoughts when signing up was that it was brilliant but that didn't last very long at all, the SQL database would go down every hour for up to 5 mins which wasn't very good for my forum. I never got banned but I did try upgrading to their sister company hosting24 well that wasn't very good either the support knew nothing and could hardly set up the account properly.I suggest if you want hosting get it from here it will save you a lot of hassle.
  10. I use GMail for my main account it seems to be more secure and safe for me compared to the other ones.
  11. I wouldn't think that Google will be the new Microsoft. Google started off as a Search Engine where Microsoft started by developing BASIC for the Altair 8800.I think that the companies may do similar projects in the future but in some ways different. An example would be Google Docs an online document editor while Microsoft did Microsoft Office, this has caused Microsoft to plan an online web version of their Office product for their next release as that seems the way forward.Their goals and vision will probably never ever match they will always have their own ways of doing things that people will either use or will not.
  12. Thanks for all of these resources to learn PHP. I hope to find these useful as I have wanted to learn PHP for many month but just haven't been motivated.
  13. My favourite sport has to be football (soccer). It's a game I've always loved to watch and play. This is closely followed by basketball just because I was good at it when I was in school.
  14. Ok I have never had experience with using that file format but reading the Apple support forum Final Cut Express (The professional video editing software for Mac OS X) also has the same problem. What is suggested there is to use a converter called MPEG Streamclip to convert the file from .mts to .mov If you need anything else here is the forum topic to help you: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I hope this helps.
  15. No player is worth ?80m it's a joke that Real Madrid payed that for him. The most he is worth would be ?30/40m. What if he gets injured this season they will lose lots of money. There should be a cap on transfers each season with ?50m being the max a team can spend so if they spend ?50m on one player that's it until next season.Ronaldo's transfer caused clubs to demand huge money from other clubs and Real Madrid for their players.
  16. I'll have to go with liverpool being a supporter we gave Man U a good run last season it was just the draws that did it for us in the end.I hope Man City flop just because their spending and Real Madrid's have ruined the transfer market. Arsenal may struggle after the loss of Adebeyor and Toure unless they can replace these players.Chelsea may do well if they can keep their manager for the whole season.Man U I feel will miss Ronaldo and Tevez which could cost them important goals. So my top four prediction is:1. Liverpool2. Chelsea3. Man Utd4. Arsenal
  17. I have used opensolaris before and I will give you an honest opinion. Opensolaris was a breeze to install as it mimicked the Ubuntu installer. I found that it was very responsive and because of the GNOME interface it was the same design as ubuntu. I can confirm what you said which is that the main changes are in the core which is a slightly different platform.Opensolaris also installed on a PC that refused to install Linux which was a bonus for me however it didn't last on that PC for very long because I didn't have the patience to find and install all the missing drivers. However I did have success with it on my laptop and I found that I really liked it and still do use when not on my Mac.Opensolaris uses a Unix kernel which is like the kernel Mac OS X uses. It's up to you weather you want to try it or not. If you do install and have any questions ask me and I will try to help you.
  18. Thanks for sharing this I knew this could be done using VB6 but never thought it could be done in notepad. I'm sure that it would amuse many people in the aid of pulling pranks.
  19. Mac OS X is my favourite operating system. Although I must say after getting access through my MSDN subscription on August 6th for Windows 7 RTM I really like how it feels more responsive over previous Microsoft Operating Systems this could eventually be my favourite depending on what Mac OS X Snow Leopard is like when released.I have used Linux before which I really like but I feel that the lack of open source drives for some hardware, leaving me to use the windows driver, a real let down but you can't have it all your own way
  20. I don't think piracy will ever be stopped due to the ridiculously high fee for some applications unless the government start to crack down on it, but would that be cost effective hiring people to spy on your browsing habits and to pay the legal fees to shut down the offenders. However one way that may work would be for the developers to allow ISP's to host many of the popular programs like Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows that can be accessed for a small monthly fee say ?5.99 ($10 approximate) which have a monthly license that as long as the fee is payed will be renewed. This would help users who only pirate programs because of the price use them for a fraction of the normal retail price this also would maybe help with minors that download illegally as the parents wouldn't get punished for something that they have done.Another way that could help is raise the awareness of open source alternatives that can be just as good as the or better than paid equivalent. My theory is that there is piracy due to the price of software. If it was cheaper more people would buy it. This would in the long run probably gain more revenue for the developers and with storage media getting cheaper every year it can't hurt to try it.
