Evidence For God. The ?real? evidence for a living God
truefusion replied to wild20's topic in General Discussion
Er, it's not a mystery. You speak of free will in the same post. What would free will be if we could only choose one thing? If we could only choose to love God, how could that possibly be even considered true love, when we are forced to? That is why there is another option: evil. For instance, i can tell my computer to tell me "I love you, [insert name here]" everytime it starts up. But, it wouldnt mean that it actually loves me. If there was no free will, we would all be preprogrammed computers. -
Old Style For new Runescape Clan..
truefusion replied to Dawiss's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Interesting layout, though, I'd hate to be a dial-up user visiting a site with such a layout. But, besides that, i think some of the edges could be "burnt" more. -
[photoshop] Fire Tutorial Making fire out of filters...
truefusion replied to truefusion's topic in General Discussion
Nice outcome Albus. Like, mentioned above, this technique works with many sizes. Since the cloud filter takes up the entire canvas. I made a sig a while back using this same technique, for a request: -
I'm not certain, but I think the sig would look better without a render. Just leave the C4D render on it. And add some tech, and patterns to it.

Sig # 008 - A Gift To A Friend GIFT SIG
truefusion replied to saga's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
It's the thought that counts, whether you believe that or not. I'm sure they'll like it, especially if they're a fan of LOTR (is it?). Either way, I'm not gonna comment on the sig, since it's a gift. Even if you want us to comment on it. It's not something for me to be commenting on. I'll leave that to the person it's meant for. -
Sig # 005 - Any Comments From The Gurus NEW SIG
truefusion replied to saga's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Well, nice brushing, makes it look like it's part of the render, like an aurora of power. For text, you're right, style doesnt go with it, but maybe a solid color for the text, and a double stroke around the text like the border, would have been better. As for color, let me give you some tips on picking out some matching colors. Dark colors work well together. Light colors work well together. Try not to use precise/common colors (moving the bar all the way to the edge of the color of choice). Colors that make people try to guess what color it is can be good colors (what i call "'ish colors": bluish, reddish, etc). If a render seems like it could be useful for coloring the background, then duplicate the render and change the blending mode to: color. Example: I used the render to color the background in this sig. Came out quite nice, i must say. But, i also used a color balance adjustment layer to add some red to it. -
Avalon Vs 2 X Non Gfx Crew Members Render supplied
truefusion replied to Avalon's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I'm pretty sure Avalon doesn't mind, as long as they're not in the GFX-crew, like mentioned. But, to tell you the truth, i'm kinda looking forward to seeing this match. But, of course, best luck to all, and let the better sig win! -
Regular Expressions best way to repace strings
truefusion replied to DeveloperX's topic in Programming
If ereg_replace() fails to work, switch to preg_replace(), and then modify the pattern for it to work with preg_replace(): $var = preg_replace('/\\[color="([\\w#]*)"\\]([^\\[]*)\\[\/color\\]/', '<font color="\\1">\\2</font>', $var); -

Email: $var = preg_replace('/\\[mail\\]([\\w\\._-]+@[\\w\\-_]+\\.[a-zA-Z]{2,4})\\[\/mail\\]/', '<a href="mailto:\\1">email</a>', $var); Color: $var = ereg_replace('\\[color="([\\w#]*)"\\]([^\\[]*)\\[/color\\]', '<font color="\\1">\\2</font>', $var); Image: $var = preg_replace('/\\[img\\](https?:\/\/[a-z.]{4,}\\w*\\.[a-z]{2,4}(?::\\\\d+)?\/[\\w\\-_\\d\/]*\\.(?:jpg|jpeg|png|gif))\\[\/img\\]/', '<img src="\\1" />', $var); -
Theology And Philosophy Truth is Subjective
truefusion replied to OCAC's topic in General Discussion
To tell you the truth, i read it half way, and then just skimmed the rest. I got bored. So, as you can see, i'm failing to see the point (if there is any). You think you can summarize it a bit? -
Regular Expressions best way to repace strings
truefusion replied to DeveloperX's topic in Programming
Correct me if i'm wrong, but Spectre's way wont work all that well. Cause it'll replace the tags whether or not they've ended or began the tags. Bold: $var = preg_replace('/\\[(b|i|u)[^\\]]*\\](.*?)\\[\/\\1\\]/', '<\\1>\\2</\\1>', $var); Italic: $var = preg_replace('/\\[(b|i|u)[^\\]]*\\](.*?)\\[\/\\1\\]/', '<\\1>\\2</\\1>', $var); Underline: $var = preg_replace('/\\[(b|i|u)[^\\]]*\\](.*?)\\[\/\\1\\]/', '<\\1>\\2</\\1>', $var); Color: $var = eregi_replace('\\[color="([^"]*)"\\]([^\\[]*)\\[/color\\]', '<font color="\\1">\\2</font>', $var); Url: $var = eregi_replace('\\[url="([^"]*)"\\]([^\\[]*)\\[/url\\]', '<a href="\\1" target="_blank">\\2</a>', $var); Email: $var = eregi_replace('\\[mail="([^"]*)"\\]([^\\[]*)\\[/mail\\]', '<a href="mailto:\\1">\\2</a>', $var); Img: $var = eregi_replace('\\[img\\]([^\\[]*)\\[/img\\]', '<img src="\\1" />', $var); These should all work properly. [edit]Yes, i noticed that too, Spectre, but i modified it now so it'll work if it were to be like that. The 3 multiples are required for the script to work, don't ask me why...[/edit] -
That's what i thought you meant. Just had to make sure. I'll edit this post at a later time, with my entry. I had something better planned out for this sig, but I kinda messed up, and did the best i could without starting over.

Explain this little part for me. I think i understand, but i want to get a better understanding of it.

One thing you gotta like about Photoshop, you dont need any 3d program to manipulate 3d.
-
If you think about it, by default, Windows comes with fonts, that everyone should have, unless they've, for some weird unknown reason, deleted those fonts. I'm finding this conversation more and more interesting as it goes on.

My Very First Good Sig by Borghunter
truefusion replied to Borghunter's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
That's much better Borghunter. Keeping working, and keep learning. But, to comment on what ciroxyz said: A reflection doesnt have to always be near the object. It all depends on how high up above the "floor" the object is. -
Zythrix pretty much covered it. But, to add to what he said. Yes, both could use a border, but since the images are basically monochromatic, i would suggest some kind of 3-pixel border for each. First pixel, the outer-most border, should be black for both. Inner-pixel's color should relate to the color the sigs are based on. And the inner-most pixel, should be black.

My Very First Good Sig by Borghunter
truefusion replied to Borghunter's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
To tell you the truth, the text isn't all that bad. It just takes up a lot of room. First thing i noticed, though, was the render, on how pale it is. Try to brighten it up a bit, a little contrast would help. Also, the color in the background (the bluish color), in my opinion, seems a bit odd with the render. I see you used a GIF format for the sig. Popout sigs are better in a PNG format, cause then you wont get a ragged edge like you have now. Anyways keep working on it. Not sure what image-manipulation program you used, so i cant give out any more tips. -
This should take care of everything.
-
Might i suggest using italics for your name on the sigs. To differentiate between your forum-name and the title. Since you used the same color for part of the title, and your forum-name. This may also add some extra flavour. (The same way i did with the word "extra" ).

The thing about Kubi's is it looks like Link is wandering in a forest, or something. Something that you would expect to see Link doing. So, the background fits the render well. Just not sure about those thick white lines. As for your's, Johnny, your's seems to fit more of a fantasy theme. Rather than an adventuress feel like Kubi's. But, they both fit the render well.

I think the title of this topic is a bit misleading. "For the ladies", more for the guys really. I dont think ladies would be interested in looking at other ladies . But, in my opinion, the way they are ordered suites how good they are. But, grid border doesnt help much for the third one, and the render could be moved a bit to the left, and less blending for it. The grid border for the 2nd one might have looked better if it weren't so thick. First one, mostly text position is what i see could use some work.
