That's not such a bad idea..... If you're near a bakery or something and you're hungry, you could print off a coupon or whatever and eat at the place. The problem is most people don't have a GPS either in their car or a handheld, such as a Garmin or cell phone with data service. It would be a good idea to begin investing a decent amount of cash once this kind of technology becomes cheap. If there was targeted advertising on my phone, I'd definately take it into account. It IS a good idea.

God, I hate the shoutbox. About 80% of the time, it gives me "an unknown error has occured" message. And it's really buggy, in terms of crashing all the time in my browser(IE 8). Just tested inferno shoutbox, and it works quite well, because 1. Shows how many users are active. 2.) auto refeshes, so you don't have to click that refresh every 2 second. Soviet Rathe, I absolutely think we should switch to inferno. Vote YES!

Have you ever hesitated before sticking your phone number on craigslist or another online website? I have. I learned my lesson once, when I posted my phone number for a website and recieved lots and lots of telemarketing calls. I could practically write down what I told those guys. So I was exploring the internet one day, and stumbled on inumbr.com. Basically, what these guys do is make an incoming phone number, registered on their server, that can be set to redirect to your phone number.(As far as I know, they don't sell out your number to telemarketers. The downside of all this is that the service USED to be free, but now the stuff starts to get pretty expensive. With the new paid service, they offer you 3 numbers with the regular plan. Their service starts to get a little more expensive if you go over the limits(more than 120 minutes of talking, more phone numbers). Take a look: iNumbr costs $4.95 per month which includes: 3 virtual numbers 3 Social Links 120 minutes of talk time ? additional minutes are billed at $.06 per minute Our complete call management system (see below for features) And then extra numbers: $4.95/month for each additional direct dial phone number A 3 month minimum subscription is required for DID phone numbers. There is no free trial and any current free trial period is voided with addition of a DID phone number. Pick from any available area code All in all, I'd say their service is pretty decent. They could've cut the costs by adding advertisments to the line, but life is life. I'd give their service a 4/5. (+4 for services, features, and overall quality. -1 for price)

Oba Mao T-shirts Beijing puts foot down on ?Oba Mao? T-shirts
thejode replied to hamor's topic in General Discussion
It seems pretty bad. China's people have absolutely NO personal freedom, like their recent bans with twitter and other sites. Personally, I don't even see why people there would get all huffy about some t-shirt. I've seen REALLY offensive t-shirts here in the US (Like this one guy at an airport, who sported a beautiful FCUK WORK t-shirt), but I don't think anyone has ever considered banning them. I really think China has to let a looser leash on all this no personal space crap. It really makes life hard there. -
Hey hey hey.......Not trying to spark an argument over something as trivial as this. I was just ASKING, for crying out loud. And as for me registering a long time ago, yeah that did happen, but I forgot about my account. The forum has changed QUITE a bit since May, so I'm just getting a general idea of how this place runs. Nothing to get all mad over.

I personally prefer skype. There's a slight delay in lip-sound quality, but the sound quality is pretty decent. if you're calling to landlines, the quality is never very good with computer VOIP. I've used MSN a few times, but never liked it much, due to the fact that I found it to be very poor quality. The video was actually lip-synced, so that was a plus.Overall, I'd say I got a better deal through skype. The video quality is good, and that is pretty much the only thing I use it for.

I gave up on firefox after it really screwed itself up. I was experimenting with different browsers(opera, safari, chrome) and I have to say, firefox was my least favorite, due to the fact that IT HAD NO URL box, nor favorites, nor refresh or anything like that. It was basically blank at the top. I tried posting my problem on their forums, but no one ever bothered to put a response. I'm running Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I personally don't see why the program should have a reason to screw up so much like that. I use chrome now, but view Xisto in IE, because it screws up a lot in Google Chrome. I love google chrome. Utterly my favorite browser.

Wait, you said your computer is 11 years old, right? 1998..... Hmmmm, that would be Windows 95 or 98. You said it was too slow with Norton, so I guess you can probably run another anitvirus...Try AVG. Not exactly wonderful. I've never fully trusted free Antiviruses in terms of quality, but it works. AVG barely took up any space on my computer when I used it as a temporary 2 week replacement to my old antivirus. It worked well. No problems, so I'd reccomend it.

GMX is similar to mail.com. I only use GMX for disposable emails. I would personally go with gmail, because they have small text ads, and very large storage space.(Around 7200 MB) Anyway, if you are going to make GMX your primary email, make sure to back up your messages sometimes, because those smaller mail providers occasionally have problems. Another downside of small mail providers is that the spam filter is not exactly what you'd call "great". They're either too strict(block every single email except accepted contacts) or too loose(small spam database, or let in every single email unless marked as spam). You can go with GMX. Overall, their not that bad. Loading is quick, so you should never have problems with that. Just try out all mail providers. You'll get one that suits you eventually.

I liked zymic at first....... I could get Phpbb3 running quite well, and the MySQL and PHPMyadmin was very well set up. Then, about 3 weeks ago, I was trying to design a forum for my friend.(Phpbb3) I had made about 4 or 5 forums, so I could set up these forums like nobody's buisness. When I entered the database username and password, it said "Error: could not acess database. Invalid username or password). Crap. I went to their MySQL database manager to see what was wrong. Looks like I hadn't assigned permission to the username of the database. Silly me. So I checked all the boxes. Full acess. Went back to phpbb3 and hit "continue". Same error. I went back, and realized that something was screwed up with Zymic. I clicked "assign privilages", but when I looked at the assigned privilages table, there were apparently no assigned privilages. So basically, Zymic lacked the ability to assign permissions to the usernames of the databases. I emailed them TWICE about this issue, but did they respond? NOPE. I opened up new hosting accounts, but the same thing still happens. So I'm pretty ticked off that they can't even bother to help me. That's why I left Zymic for good.

Ummm... Why Do I Have Negative Mycents?
thejode replied to FruitRocks's topic in Web Hosting Support
Jeez, this guy had -68 mycents............ You have negative 508 mycents! Jeez! How did you manage to do that............... Did you get fined or something? -
Hey everyone: I've been exploring the Trap 17 forums for the past few days now. The myCENTs program is great, and I'm planning to order a Xisto package in the next week or so. Some people may have seen this, but a few unlucky bunch of people have a NEGATIVE amount of myCENTS. Does this mean they've subscribed to services and never paid them off, or have they been fined by moderators?

I'm running Python 2.6.4 on Windows 32-bit. I have checked the pygame documents but I couldn't really find much of an answer. Just like @rob86 said, the pygame installer is a piece of garbage.

I've never really seen a purpose for owning an extremely fast vehicle, like a Bugatti Veyron, because speeding over 150 km/h on the highway is not a very logical choice. I did drive to South Carolina once to test drive a few of their newer models. Very cool. That would be the only time you'd really need a car that goes more than 180 km/h..

Change Forum Look And Version to make it a bit easier
thejode replied to harad's topic in Web Hosting Support
Yeah, the logo is pretty ugly. The color is fine. It gets the job done. I think the shoutbox needs to be improved, like a widget box widget so that the comments look more professional. Also, the forums seem a little slow lately.... Maybe it's just that I'm impatient My time is always off, too! I changed my time zone to EST, but the I'm typing this at 3:33, at the site lists that it's 8:34. I also think that they should get rid of those annoying ads where the text gets highlighted, and if you accidently click, the ads force you to go to another page. Google Adsense ads would probably make a lot more sense. Other than that, I think the guys who created xisto, Xisto - Web Hosting, trap 17, have done a really good job in terms of mycents and premium hosting. -
I read an article about this kind of stuff about a month ago. I never buy e-books, due to the fact that the glare really burns my eyes. I find it quite a chore to read more than three-four pages of text on a computer screen. Amazon has really created innovation with the Kindle. People should really look into e-ink more.As for those magazines, they better lower the price a lot, becuase I don't think anybody's going to be willing to watch a video advert for $120.

Okay, so I bought my PS3 back in June of 2008. Came bundled with Metal Gear Solid 4 and one remote control. There was no slim back then, so I still have to stick with the fatter version. Anyhow, exploring the features one day, I came across a setting that read " Install Other OS". Other OS? What the heck? I did my fair share of online research and figured out that you could install Yellow Dog Linux, Ubuntu, whatever, onto the PS3.(Interestingly enough it only listed Linux based platforms). Also, your warranty IS NOT voided if you choose to install these foreign OS's.What I'd like to know is:1.) What was the real reason for Sony to stick these options on the PS3? I don't think they intended the PS3 to be run as a Linux computer.2.) Why did they eliminate this feature with the new $299.99, slimmed down, 120GB PS3? Could it be that they decided to cancel the project?I need answers. Thanks,Thejode

My PS3 actually has backwards compatability. Bought it off of eBay that included a Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle. Bought it back in 2008. I can play PS2 and PS games absolutely fine. I think they released a program you can download that will enable you to play PS2 games. I believe my built in backwards compatability had to do with it being the older model, and being an 80GB PS3.......

All the pirates lately claim that they'll never be caught, due to the fact that once one site goes down, they just open up more. To tell you the truth, online pirating is never going to stop. I caught a virus from a torrent, so I've quit downloading since. I just use youtube now. Very easy. Anyways, if you want a free song, just look up "free download of whatever". I'll admit, I've done that a few times. I was pretty desperate that day.

Hey guys. I actually got back into the Xisto spirit after I got my last Xisto email, so I decided to start up trap 17. The reason I quit last time was because I couldn't get my MYcents to work, but now they work quite well, and I'm looking foreward to free hosting and domains. I code in Visual Basic and a little bit of HTML and CSS. Cool. Okay, guess I'm wrapping up my introduction letter here.Cheers,Thejode.

Please Make Me A Logo Or Any Graphic For Free help
thejode replied to karlo's topic in Web Hosting Support
Ah, not as much CUSTOM.......... You can make a few simple graphics with services like cooltext.com. Logoease is another site.... Kind of a relaxed graphic site. Nothing very exciting, but the stuff is pretty decent. Yeah, that's all I got. Sorry man.
