There are opportunity costs - if you do one thing and you can't do another jjust yet...There are laws - which does not give much freedom - you can break them of course, with consequence (could be good and bad) which are undesirably freeA lot of things are free, but up to a certain extent. also depending on how you would define free.

This is quoted from the email - "Person x assures person y that computers don't go wrong - just humans!"I was arguing with my friend about this statement. My friend keep saying that anything that goes wrong in a computer, it will be the computer's fault. I tried to explain to him about the root of a problem about computers but he doesn't seem to care about the existance of the root of the problem, which are humans. I would agree to the statement - "It's not the computer's fault, just humans". Computers and software are humans creation. Computers are logical devices which follows exactly as programmed. Whenever a bug exists, people may initially think that the computer has gone wrong. But actually, the root of the problem comes from human. If a human writes a program with a bug and someone uses it on a computer, the user may complain about the program not working because of the computer. The computer logically runs the program and follow every string in it, even the bugs. The computer went wrong because of the human programming error. Now, who's fault is it?I think that there is a misunderstanding between computers going wrong and humans writing a piece of code without knowing the existence of accidental bugs. A bug may come from a typographical error, wrong use of a certain command, or humans are not logical enough. When the computer runs a program, it is not necessarily using the same software as the software used to write the program. So if there is anything wrong, it would seem that the computer does not understand the program. But the software used to run the program is also programmed by a human. So who's fault is it now? Some may argue that the computer may have changed the coding of the program and cause it to malfunction. But what makes the computer the change the coding in the first place? It could be a fault in the coding of the program itself or human could have ran another pr gram using the computer previously and followed exactly as programed which is to change the coding. It's would be quite difficult for computers or any artificial intelligence to think for them selves as they are logical devices. Generally, without logical and specific commands for the devices, I think it would not be possible for those devices to work in the way humans wanted. Unless humans could develop a complex device similar to a human brain or similar complex organs, I don't think A.I. can think for them selves...yet.Thoughts?

I would highly agree with Lightning73 about energy. everything has energy. When that energy is depleted, ie no more fuel, then it is considered as dead. If you define dead as no moving, then having zero energy (at absolute zero - 0K or -273 degrees celcius) will mean that something is dead. Zero energy in this case would be zero kinetic energy. -
Coca-cola Addiction Sorts of addiction
cyber_electrons replied to TheBlessedOne's topic in Health & Fitness
If you define addiction as I can't live without coca cola, then I am not addicted. I drink coke (coca cola) sometimes, but I usually prefer sprite - more simpler. -
Computers Totally Sumberged In Oil Mineral Oil Cooling
cyber_electrons replied to chaos3932's topic in Science and Technology
I think using oil will lengthen the life of the computer as oil protects the components from oxidation. If you are using oil with the computer and it is submerged, then moisture will not be a problem as the oil seals of moisture and air from whatever submerged. But keep in mind that the liquid will seek its way into small gaps so keep your data storage devices away from oil for safety. -

cyber_electrons replied to chaos3932's topic in Science and Technology
Pure water (pure H2O) does not conduct electricity. only the impurities in tap water, for example, conduct electricity. But of course, water is a bad liquid to use in this situation where all components sit in it. Metal bits will be oxidized (rusted) and eventually useless... So using water to cool the computer (in contact) is basically torturing and killing the computer. -
Advertisements On Trap17 I think there should be more ads
cyber_electrons replied to joeblogg's topic in Web Hosting Support
For my personal preference, sometime ads could be extremely annoying as they can go into the way of my eyesight - even at the corner. Although I acknowledge the purpose of ads, putting them in the wrong place is.....Depending on where the ads are place, I wouldn't mind their existance - sometimes they will give me ideas as well (no particular type of ideas, just ideas). -
What do you feel about the name TRAP17?
cyber_electrons replied to OpaQue's topic in Web Hosting Support
I though about the name again and the history. Just of casual:Did OpaQue create this name? - Trap 17If not, it seems like just copying other names - my feeling. To my thoughts, a more original name may be interesting and making it more personal. What do you think? -
Issue:Although I use my personal computer most of the times, there will be some time that I am using a public computer. Bookmarking or RSS feeds will not be the most helpful if I want to go to certain posts quickly. So would (you think) it be possible to have the post shortcut within the user account instead of things like cookies or feeds? As I am not pro at programming or codes, it would be hard for me to imaggince the difficulty of the creation of this function. (but i will soon!)What do you think?

Computers Totally Sumberged In Oil Mineral Oil Cooling
cyber_electrons replied to chaos3932's topic in Science and Technology
I would wire away all permanent data storage device (not like the RAMs and stuff like that) to outside of rht oil tank. It doesn't worth a messed up drive. Except for CDD and HDD, are there any other components to worry about having oil finding its way into them? The last thing that probably anyone wants is a non-working computer after doing something which supposingly should work.. -
I have been thinking about the conversion between MB and MiB. MiB is binary as it has "i" in the middle. But for example:I have 1024MB of stuff. Would that be 1000 MiB or 10000000000 MiB? Where the 1000 is base 10 and the 10000000000 is binary.I am really confused about whether I use a binary number for the MiB or a base 10 number for MiB. It seems to me that as MiB is a binary unit, then I should use a binary number...Does anyone know the answer? Or any information is appreciated.

Does anyone have a code for making the banner stationary in a website? Meaning how ever you scroll, the banner is always visible - not scrolled away. It would also be great for the navigation buttons (usually on the left) to remain stationary? I am using dreamweaver to make the websites. Any tricks that could be done using dreamweaver to archieve that? Also, I am looking for codes which when the mouse points at a certain button, a menu drops down. But because my buttons are vertically aligned: (button) (button) (button) (button) I require some settings which can drop down beside the button, such as on the right. As for buttons, can I use codes to make the buttons change colour, or something, on hover? Or must it be a property of the button itself to make this happen? Thanks

Theory Of Unlimited Life
cyber_electrons replied to stefan_pavikevik's topic in Science and Technology
Talking modernly, we can change the DNA of people and possible "bad" mutation could be removed. If we change the DNA in the sperm and the egg to whatever suits the parent or who ever, then we can have customized offspring and therefore possible perfect people. Now, as to life, might it be possible to control life span in DNA or "delay death" to a later time?(Hey, even stars die (explode), and stars are not biologically living. should we give everything unlimited life?)There might be consequences as well. It is the argument of good and evil and other consequences thinkable. But I would agree to this idea. Very interesting. Do you think it is possible in real? -
I am very interested as I, too, am also interested in IT and robotics etc... I am sure that one day this may be possible - as we all know technology is improving in a very fast rate. So basically, this will be the future city of technology and enjoyment? - enjoying the automation. It will be so relaxed. This could be made the technological centre of Earth where all the highest tech stuff are here. But as this place worth too much for any wrecks, maybe you should consider adding defense to this place to protect it from harm? It would be a shame for this great city to go all at once.Keep up this great idea!

How To Change Xp Icon Complete System Icon
cyber_electrons replied to puneye's topic in Operating Systems
I know for shortcuts, you can go to properties and click change icon. Now you can use any .ico files for the icon. I think it is similar for files. But I don't know about normal (non-shortcut) folder, and I,too, want to know how to change - for better personalisation. -
My man, I also have the same problem sometimes. Exactly the same problem. But I think my problem occurs less frequently. I also want some effective solutions for this problem.

How to restrict the size of an internet explorer when a page opens?I need to know the code to make the window resize itself and without using popups. I do not want the person viewing the website to resize the window just for viewing it comfortably. It wuold be best for the windoew to resize itself. The size I need is 1024 ? 768 for your information. If you can construct the code, that'd be great.Thnks.
