  1. thnx cragllo! got them. i will ante your reputation one bit for that!
  2. i like banner #2 best simple yet sleek design. just a little emphasis on "professional and free web hosting" wud improve on it.cragllo, what fonts did you use for banner #2? cud u provide it fordownload? thanx in advance
  3. thnx all. i know it's a bit 'in ur face'. just hoped it cud get more hits that way. btw wassie, its a standard banner size, like d ones at the top of Xisto pages. i just added factual details that cud make d audience wantto visit Xisto. i believe information is more valuable in a-d-banners thanjust nice design (w/c is secondary to me). space maximized to give d "shock effect" as cragllo says. .click guys, for the benefit of Xisto. and use it if u want. just right click, save as, upload to ur hosting space, then link to Xisto.
  4. just adding a Xisto banner of this dimension (728x90): click it to help Xisto.
  5. lolz! try to play a "car stuffing" game and you'll get MORE than 5people inside the car.
  6. you are correct there zenchi :Dbtw, just remembered that a DOMAIN NAME does a great deal ingiving your site good search engine rankings. if you search for "screensavers" for example, the search engine will spit out the most relevant sites/pages first -- that being the domain bearinga name nearest to the word searched. so choosing a good domain/subdomain name helps a lot in SEO and search enginerankings. :Dchoose well.
  7. mizako... SEO=search engine optimization. web gold is an app webmasters use to monitor their site rankings in a multitude of search engines. just try to google the app for more details. metatags are useful for ANY search engine bot, so dont neglect it in your web pages. one tip to enhance SEO: use ALT in your images when appropriate. EXAMPLE: don't just place a crappy ALT description... think of something that will be REALLY descriptive of your page. example: if you have a FORUMS image, don't just put alt='Forums'. try, alt='Forums discussing the merits of meta tags and other methods in search engine optimization'. a search engine bot crawling your pages would glean more info on your pages from the latter example than the first. these hidden codes beneath the web interface you see in the browser can raise your rankings in search engines. (of course, every search engine algorithm differs, but it will help in most cases). and that's just one tip. more later if i can still remember them
  8. have tried this months ago. but soon my trial period expired, so tough luck! :Di dont want to pay for this service. speed enhancement is achieved mostly by downsizing quality of imageson pages viewed. if you dislike images, you can just turn OFF the imagessettings of your browser, and speed is enhanced, even without onspeed.with onspeed, it still has to pass the onspeed servers, so a minor lagtime is expected (still, a lag time is a lag time). pages are crunched on theonspeed servers before being served to a network of servers before itgets to your browser, so this is an extra step before getting to view your desired web page. touting it to reach 300kb on a 56kb connection is just too much i'm alsoon a 56kb connection and the best i can get with onspeed is a little over3X speed enhancement. the BIG BUT here is: images you view are compromised. if you enjoy viewing pages with fuzzy graphics embeddedas a result of onspeed, go on, use it. the best thing to do for me is to kill/close apps which are running inthe background of my OS which i dont need while being connected to theinternet. this gives my PC the extra juice it needs to give my modem the resources it needs. overall, onspeed oversells like every internet accelerator i've tried.
  9. have you tried the MOUSE settings found at your control panel?there shud be options there on how to make your scrollwheel work.it's worth a try
  10. admin, i thought you're planning on having 101MB space + 5GB bandwidth package? how about a 2-3GB (bandwidth instead as a compromise? :Dposts count will not be a problem for most of us who are really intoXisto. it's best if we just stick to one package from hereon. too much changeswithin a span of days will just confuse members, future and present. also, sticking to one package with a determined number of GOOD posts (in this case, 50), will thresh out those "fly-by-night" members who just come in here for a "free ride" without contributing helpful posts to otherforum members.i would opt for your earlier plan of having a higher bandwidth allotment formembers, IF possible.
  11. welcome to Xisto slyfox you will definitely like it here.a lot of topics are discussed here so i'm sure you can makelots of interesting posts to qualify for hosting. :Dand your posts will definitely not be ignored. they will allbe read and reacted upon. if there is no reply in one of your posts, you just have to do better next time to make it moreinteresting.
  12. it would have taken you just 5 seconds if you just googled your query. anyway, you can use this: Online Meta Tag Generator or download a freeware application: Freeware Meta Tag Maker need more? CLICK HERE
  13. LOL! seems i dont need to search my archives any longer. Google keeps tabs of its doodle logos here. if you are interested in such fun art from google, just check the site out. they keep every logo they had from 1999 to the present. have fun!
  14. Google's logo as of today is a swimming greek god with a trident :Dwe ought to be collecting these google logo's for posterity. will search my image archives and will set up a page of google logosi have collected so far. i will be asking for your contributions soon,so if you are collecting google logos as well, do some digging now.
  15. yeah, btt, try to give add some more insightful posts becauseevery hosting/upgrade request here is reviewed by admin andmoderators thoroughly. junk posts will not help. have beenreading ALL your posts up to this time. remember, quality is better than quantity.
  16. btt, google pays tribute to the Athens 2004 Olympics, that's whythey have that. every now and then, google comes up withsuch lovely re-designs of their logo to fit an occasion. havealso chanced upon some christmas, new year, valentines, and halloween redesigns of google's logo before. this is just theirlatest, so we could expect more of that
  17. this is a PCI slot. this is an AGP slot. and here's a guide in choosing between an AGP or PCI card. Guide to Buying a Graphics Card just read on...
  18. ME!!!!! it was a tough game when it first came out. twas hardto get into and finish certain levels, but it was a whole lotta funplaying it. how to solve some levels in precise timing was reallymind-boggling. it would be nice if we have an arcade versionfor that game.
  19. looks like a good idea. Xisto's homepage should have a linkfor a TESTIMONIALS page >>AND<< HOSTED SITES pagewhich gets frequently updated by ADMIN. this way, guestsand prospective forum members can have direct access tosuch pages and can be more convinced that Xisto REALLY delivers on its promises.
  20. hey wassie!! how's vacation?? glad you're back in the forums.am likewise an "old" member of the forums. we're the one'sfilling up the posts during Xisto's "version 1" life (before theforum database got screwed). those were very good posts(i believe) so it's a shame they went all down the drain.but hey, Xisto is back and alive again, so keep on postingold chums!
  21. mine's TURBOFTP.... mostly because it can resume uploads. can also upload multiple folders in queue. plus explorer directory interface so you can view BOTH the FTP window and your PC files. drag-and-drop. imports also FTPsettings from other FTP apps. with backup option for FTP settings/address book. easy CHMOD. easy synchronize. + more features...
  22. i think not, zachtk8702. you have to handle domain registration by yourself from other domain registrars. Xisto just offers free hosting (as of today).
  23. serverph
