  1. yup, very good. this is the ftp app i use.
  2. admins/mods, the "&hl=" problem is back again.... it returned when the last topic/last post mod was moved to the bottom of the page. i know it can be manually deleted, but it's just a waste of precious online time every time a post is viewed. hope it gets fixed again soon.

    Easyphp

most likely your db permission settings are incorrect. correct db username AND db password are required, so if you miss one, you get a db error. tweak your configurations, that may solve your problem. good luck.
  4. a clean slate is your best option. i totally support your intent to do a reformatafter all the computer mishaps you are experiencing. once registry is screwed,it's a bit difficult to properly reverse the registry changes needed to make yourPC smooth-sailing again. just dont forget to backup important files and documents.
  5. i use the pretty basic features of ULEAD Video Studio 7, which came with my TV Tuner as well. have used VDub also, but limited only. hmmnn. would check on Sony Vega 5if i could get a copy. what nifty features does it offer, --Stealth--?

    Introduction

welcome to Xisto, MVP! you should live up to your nick here.... Most Valuable Poster! enjoy our forums!
  7. it's because the old index.html is still cached in your PC. clear cache, and it may do the trick
  8. wassie, i think toyclergy is asking if posts made by other people (but logged in as 'toyclergy' still) would be acceptable. i see no problem with it, right admins/mods? as long as you trust the person whowill alternate-post with you, and that person understands Xisto rules and is responsible to maintain your good reputation in the forums. but that's just me. let's wait forthe 'official' declaration from admins/mods.
  9. here are the Xisto ad codes, goosestaf http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/if you place these in your site, clicks will count for Xisto. here are the Xisto banners, for link-back to Xisto http://forums.xisto.com/topic/125-user-contributions/
  10. you sure about this URL? it does not seem to be hosted anywhere, or it does not exist.
  11. hehehe? global game authentication seems to have bogged down Valve's Steam servers for some time. frustrations, frustrations, frustrations...
  12. In Filipino/Tagalog (Philippines), we say:MALIGAYANG PASKO AT MANIGONG BAGONG TAON! (Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!)
  13. the "New Features" just re-appeared today in my gmail account. and the POPoption setting is now available as reported. will test it later when i get the timeto configure my email client app. POP would come in handy for my gmail accountwhich handles my profesional emails... it never hurts to have a backup offline justin case emergencies arise. :(alperuzi is correct, it's being introduced slowly. others may have to wait a bitlonger, but not too long i guess.
  14. aftermatha, i would like to answer that in the meantime i also come from the philippines, and we have literally dozens of languages here. our national language is Filipino (a much wider and richer blend of overwhelmingly Tagalog and other regional/international languages and dialects ). Filipino is not derived from English at all but we adapt some english words (just like other languages which borrow from other languages). trivia: english also adapted tagalog/filipino words, one of which is "boondocks" http://www.thefreedictionary.com/boondocks/ as for written representation, we have what we call "Alibata", an ancient form of writing in filipino, which has been mostly relegated to the history books. modern times dictate we follow the A-B-Cs to communicate better in a global arena, so here we are writing in A-B-Cs. more on alibata: http://fatoprofugus.net/alibata/ here is an alibata transliterator to get an idea of how alibata looks in writing: http://fatoprofugus.net/alibata/alibata.cgi boycradle, just add some more. on doesn't, it's: these are word contractions, and are generally acceptable.
  15. can't you backtrack the changes you made? it seems you don't have an index pagefor your main index, and your mambo subdirectory. try to uninstall-reinstall mamboif you can (i assume you installed the mambo from your cpanel). that may do thetrick. or try to upload a sample html index page to see if it would load or not.if you still can't figure out the problem, it's best to contact the admins/mods with your particular query. send any of them a private message so they can re-createyour account if you want, and you can start from scratch again.
  16. fsb, maybe connection problems on your end. i check cpanel everytime i go online (3-4times a day), and it works fine (except for once, when there was a problem with thedatacenter where Xisto servers are located. but it's fixed now.) or some firewall restrictions in one PC if you're moving from PC to PC when checking cpanel? am just giving some possibilities... can't know for certain.
  17. korek ka jan, medievalprincess welcome to Xisto!
  18. hmmnn... additional space... additional bandwidth. also, mysql keeps going down... and it's becoming frequent.... and longer. the latest is just today, and it took 7 hrs before it got back again..... admin, can you please look into this? mysql is a very important factor why we chose to stay with Xisto....
  19. asians are renowned for its exotic cuisine. i dunno, but asians are most likely to concoct a very tasty and delicious meal from almost anything. we tend not to be wasteful of our resources so there are ways and means we come up with to prepare zesty and exotic food. to asians: what are the exotic foods in your country which you want westerners to try? to westerners: are you willing to try some exotic foods which asian cuisine can offer? so to start this thread, i want you all to try "BALOT". This is a week-old duck egg (with embryo), which is just boiled and ready to eat off its shell. the soup and the yolk from the duck egg is very tasty, the hard egg white is very crunchy, and the duck embryo is very yummy! it can be spiced up with salt, vinegar, and chili. (if you watched Amazing Race 5, the players raced in the Philippines to find a large duck statue/monument. ) BALOT from the Philippines! YUMMY!
  20. hi shackman, i'm asian too. Filipino to be exact (from the Philippines). :Di'm proud to be a Filipino (and proud to be Asian as well. )well, I suppose you are right. we need to sort of bond as a continent. we've been bonding in here in global terms for so long, and we should at least take time to bond in celebration of our common asian heritage. and i believe communication would pose no problem since as varied the languages we have in our region, we can very well express ourselves in english. so asians out there, i hope (along with shackman) that we can OWN this sectionthat is reserved for us. any discussion of asian concerns and interests are mostwelcome here. so bang those keyboards and spice up this section of Xisto forums.we are an interesting mix of people. and we can learn a lot from each other. :DGO ASIANS!
  21. i take it you are using IE. better switch to Mozilla FireFox, and stop your worries. :Dsearch the forums for mozilla firefox and see what members here say about thisbrowser. after switching to Firefox, you will never look back to using IE ever again.
